This museum was founded in 2012 by the Barbara and Eric Rudd Art Foundation and opened to the public in 2014.
The museum’s 25,000 square feet of exhibition space is split between two repurposed buildings, featuring rotating and year-round shows.
As well as displays from the permanent collection, which includes Rudd’s Lexan/Iceberg and Robotic sculptures, the museum’s main facility at 159 E. Main Street, North Adams, hosts seasonally rotating exhibits.
Two hundred feet away, at 82 Summer Street, lies the museum’s Annex – A Chapel for Humanity.
More than 150 life-size figures, 250 low-relief figures, and a 9/11 monument are part of the Chapel’s modern sculptural epic, which opened to the public in 2001.
For adults and children, the Berkshire Art Museum provides gallery tours and special events and talks and receptions and sponsorship of the yearly Eagle Street Beach.
