It was architect W.C. Dodson who originally designed the building in 1886.
The architect modeled the beautiful courthouse after his other buildings at Hood, Lampasas, and Hill Counties.
It went through over a decade of restoration efforts.
That continued with the Historic Courthouse Preservation Program in the early 90s and in 2002.
Thanks to its 2004 renovation, the courthouse opened its doors once more, offering guided tours to give insight into history and culture.
