Welcome to the first day of this beautiful trip to Lincoln. Since it is your first day here, we thought we’d give you a light schedule before we get into all of the Lincoln craziness. However, the area we will be taking you to today is one of the liveliest places in all of Lincoln. So, get ready to begin the trip!

Now, we shall be heading over to the Historic Haymarket District. Some of the best highlights of the Historic Haymarket District are its buildings. The buildings are not new. Some of them even date back to the 19th century, but all of them have been restored and brought back to their glory. The University of Nebraska is quite close to this place, and so there won’t be a time that Historic Haymarket District won’t be crowded.

Did you know that there is rather an amusing history behind this State Capitol of Nebraska? Yes, and we promise you it’s funny! Nebraska had previously built State Capitols- not once, but twice! But, none of them lasted.

Did you know they built the new one for a time span of ten years? Yes, the construction was started in 1922. However, the exterior has been done quite lovely, and if you notice- you will find limestone has been used for the entire outlook. The floors are made of mosaic and there are three floors in total. However, there are a lot of tours that will guide you through the Capitol Building- our suggestion would be to book yourself one of these and get to know more about the intricate details.

The Healing Garden is one of the greatest themes. Also, there are themes that are changed annually. Some of the flowers are flown in from international gardens. This garden is the epitome of beauty.

Also, it is built on a huge space of almost 135,000-square-foot. University of Nebraska State Museum contains another gem other than its own collection and that happens to be a lovely planetarium. But, there is a nostalgia behind the creation of this planetarium. Having opened its gate in 1958 to the public- there was no planetarium before this one in the state.

The structure is quite large that amazes a lot of people. Having a seating arrangement for almost 60 people, the planetarium has some good features to show you. There are a lot of shows that go on based on different scientific issues and astronomy. Also, there is a customized fisheye lens projector which makes these shows look more real.

Get curious at Lester F. Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum

As mentioned before, we are here at another one of the unconventional museums. The Lincoln Museums defy all norms and portray something that genuinely interests the tourists. For this reason, you are going to find a lot of crowds here every day.

For now, we will be checking out a museum that is unique to Lincoln only. The Lester F. Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum is the only one of its kind in the entire world. And, Lincoln is the place that has a museum that tests tractors! Situated within the Campus of the University of Nebraska, the museum has a delightful collection of tractors. Some of them are even as old as 100 years or more than that. You must visit this museum after you are visiting the other museums we mentioned in our list.
