Every weekend, without failure, I find myself wandering on the 3rd floor of the Riverside Resort’s west tower, and it is not just for the mesmerizing view of the river.

It’s Don Laughlin’s Classic Car Museum that keeps bringing me back.

This place is a treasure trove of antique cars, each with its unique history and charm.

The first time I walked through those doors, I was left speechless by the sheer number of classic vehicles they had on display.

From a 1966 Ford Mustang Mach 1 to a timeless Delorean, the collection is simply unbeatable.

It’s always exciting to see how the eyes of car enthusiasts light up when they spot a rare model.

It’s like finding a priceless gem in a sea of precious stones.

One of the best parts about Don Laughlin’s Classic Car Museum is the sense of nostalgia it brings.

Every corner is filled with memorabilia and shadow boxes that celebrate various places and organizations across the globe.

It’s a fantastic place to take a trip down memory lane while also learning about the history and evolution of the automobile industry.

The museum is not just for car enthusiasts or history buffs.

It’s a great place to spend some time with the family, especially since kids can enter for free.

Adults? Just a mere $3 admission fee. And if you happen to be a player’s cardholder, your entrance is on the house.

Marvel at the Scenic Beauty of Davis Dam

Felipe Sanchez / Shutterstock.com

There’s something truly special about the Davis Dam.

The easy access road makes it a breeze to visit this picturesque site, perfect for those spontaneous trips when you just crave for some nature’s touch.

There’re days when I just pack up my camera and head over to the dam for a quick visit.

The scenic beauty is so captivating it’s impossible not to click on some awesome pictures.

The dam is enveloped in lush greenery, providing a calming vibe that seeps into your soul.

The shimmering water of the dam under the clear blue sky is mesmerizing, making it my favorite place to check the water level.

One thing that truly stands out about this place is the respect and gratitude it shows to those who have served our nation.

As a retired US Air Force member, the park employees’ kindness in providing me a pass is something I deeply appreciate.

It’s not something you find everywhere, but here, at Davis Dam, they certainly do their part in recognizing our service.

Indeed, Davis Dam is not just a place; it’s an experience – an experience of natural beauty, kindness, and gratitude. So, whether you’re a resident like me or a visitor, it’s one place you must definitely visit.

Feel Your Adrenaline Rush with Laughlin’s Slingshot Tours

Ever get tired of the same old desert sightseeing tours?

Well, I decided to spice up my routine with an exhilarating ride from 220 Tours.

And believe me; it’s the best decision I’ve made in a while.

Imagine cruising through scenic Route 66 on a Polaris Slingshot, the wind whipping past your face and the world seeming to fly by.

That’s exactly what I did!

The ride to Oatman, a quaint historical town, was nothing short of spectacular.

The breathtaking views along the way left me in awe.

It’s one thing to experience this on a normal day, but the slingshot made the whole journey feel like a magical adventure.

One of the best parts of the journey was visiting Oatman. It’s such a charming little town!

The burros that roam the streets there are a delight to interact with.

To say it was a unique experience would be an understatement.

And the best part? The amazing customer service of 220 Tours.

Not only that, but they also provided a GPS-guided tour which allowed me to explore every nook and cranny of the town!

I was even pleasantly surprised by their choice of music for the ride.

Soak Up the Sun at the River Beach Area

Getting out of bed early on a Saturday can be a struggle, but when the destination is the River Beach Area, it’s always worth it.

A 7 am start might sound too early, but trust me, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the river beach.

The moment you step foot on the beach, you are greeted by the breathtaking view of the river.

The calmness of the scene is unlike any other, the river gently flowing past while the sun begins to rise, casting a soft glow over everything in sight.

Given the quality of the experience, it’s not surprising to find families like mine setting up for their day.

River Beach Area is well maintained, with clean cabanas and picnic tables.

Set up a picnic or simply relax in one of the cabanas, it’s a treat either way.

One thing that I find particularly impressive is the availability of freshwater faucets.

In my experience, that’s not something you get at all beach areas.

There are also restrooms that are kept clean, another thing that adds to the comfort of spending a day here.

Stroll The Heritage Trails Loop

Before sunrise, I often find myself lacing up my sneakers and heading towards my favorite local haven: The Heritage Trails Loop.

The trail, nestled by the river, is a serene pathway that meanders through lush foliage and open spaces alike.

It’s a haven for both humans and their furry companions alike.

Starting on the Nevada side, the Davis Dam loop is an easy and enjoyable 6.5-mile stretch, mostly paved and perfect for a morning jog or a leisurely bike ride.

The trail continues onto the Arizona side, and you can cross back over the Laughlin bridge, returning to the river walk.

It’s an idyllic way to start the day, especially for someone like me who enjoys the calm of the early morning hours.

The Heritage Trails Loop is not just for fitness enthusiasts, though. It’s also a wonderful spot for a family outing.

There are covered picnic tables equipped with barbeque facilities.

Most of these are designed for small gatherings, but there’s at least one that can accommodate larger groups.

You can also find water fountains, both for people and pets and even areas for tying horses.

One of my favorite aspects of the trail is its commitment to the environment.

Recycling bins are a common sight, encouraging visitors to keep the area clean.

The commitment to preserving local wildlife is evident in the abundance of birds and bunnies that can be spotted along the trail.

Now, a word of caution: getting into the Heritage Trails Loop can be a bit tricky.

The access is limited to one direction, and it involves making a U-turn.

So, it’s best to be prepared for that when you first set out for a visit.

After a few visits, though, it becomes second nature.

Go Boating at Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area

The thrill of the wind whipping through my hair as I speed along the Colorado River on my boat is a sensation I’ve been fortunate enough to experience repeatedly, thanks to the Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area.

This spot, nestled within the arid landscape of Nevada, is a pure oasis of adventure, tranquility, and beauty.

There’s something special about Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area.

It’s not just the imposing canyons or the winding washes that make it unique.

It’s the harmonious blend of nature’s raw beauty and the amenities provided to make it accessible to all.

From full-facility campsites offering up immense space and shade to the welcoming park rangers, Big Bend is an intriguing blend of wild and welcoming.

Now, I’ve heard people complain about it being a bit far from the beach area, but I think that’s part of its charm.

The river, especially on a scorching day, is an absolute delight.

Plus, the proximity to the town across the river makes it a quick trip for any forgotten snacks or sudden cravings.

However, with all its charms, it has its perils. The water, while inviting, can be treacherous.

The undercurrents and the muddy bed have claimed lives, including a young man recently.

The need for water safety signs and necessary precautions cannot be stressed enough.

But don’t let that deter you. This park is a gem.

On my visits, I’ve seen families picnicking under the shade canopies, children gazing in wonder at the ducks paddling in the clear water, and campers making friends over a shared love for the outdoors.

The park’s maintenance is top-notch, and while it can get busy, the vibe is always friendly and laid back.

Go Trekking at Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park & Trails

The South Beach at the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park & Trails is my go-to spot on any given Monday afternoon.

The serene atmosphere of the place, void of the usual crowd, lets you truly appreciate the beauty of nature.

With its well-maintained and clean surroundings, it feels like I have the place all to myself.

There’s nothing more invigorating than dipping into the ice-cold water of the river on a hot day.

The available parking spaces at Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park & Trails are practically unlimited, making it even more convenient for me to come back time and time again.

Camp Davis is another excellent spot within the park that I frequent.

A fee of $20 per person is a small price to pay for the experience.

Just imagine, kids get to enjoy it all for free!

They have clean bathrooms, accessible showers, and the shore is just perfect for a quick dip.

The clean water and amazing atmosphere make it the ideal place for family outings.

Hit the Waters with Watercraft Adventures

On most Saturdays, you can find me with Watercraft Adventures.

Last weekend, I had an amazing time there! My friends and I, being notoriously late, were having issues with timing, but the staff were incredibly lenient and accommodating.

They worked with us patiently, and when we finally decided to hit the waters, they were super efficient, ensuring that we maximized our time out on the water.

There isn’t a better spot for some fun on the water.

The pricing is always transparent and displayed clearly for everyone to see.

Once, we struck a deal, and I got on the ski straight away for some good fun.

All in all, as with any other place, I take all my experiences with a pinch of salt and continue to enjoy my time there!

Hit a Strike at Riverside Lanes Bowling

It’s not every day you stumble upon a hidden gem like Riverside Lanes Bowling, a place that has become my go-to spot for some quality fun. The atmosphere here is simply electric.

It has a charm that draws you in and holds you tight, making every bowling trip an adventure.

Bowling here is more than just a game, it’s an experience that leaves you wanting for more.

Our family has had a blast here on multiple occasions.

Even on the busiest of days, we’ve always managed to secure a lane.

And yes, the bustling crowd doesn’t deter the staff from maintaining top-notch service.

They are prompt and diligent, ensuring every visitor has an enjoyable time.

I must mention the snack bar at Riverside Lanes Bowling.

It’s a lifesaver for those sudden hunger pangs in the middle of an intense bowling match.

Despite the rush, they manage to keep things moving smoothly, serving up delicious snacks that add to the overall bowling experience.

The venue is also a popular choice for local tournaments.

Savor the Dishes at Bighorn Café

I’ve always been a bit of a foodie, and I take pride in knowing the best places to eat in town.

Trust me when I say there’s a hidden gem nestled inside the Laughlin Riverside Lodge – the Bighorn Café.

My experiences here have been nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming ambiance.

Onto the food – it’s simply out of this world.

The sandwiches are colossal, and to say they’re delicious would be an understatement.

One bite of the chicken noodle soup, you’ll swear it was homemade.

As someone who has had his fair share of club sandwiches around the country, the ones here are unparalleled.

But the superstar of Bighorn Café is the NY Strip Steak sandwich – tender, tasty, and a must-try for any meat lover.

If you’re one for breakfast, the biscuits and gravy are sublime – smooth gravy balanced with tiny pork bits and a delightful hint of rosemary.

It’s the perfect way to start your day.

The evenings bring a different charm, with savory options like the deconstructed Pot Pie and the steak sandwich.

The former is packed with flavor, while the latter is a melange of tender, cheesy goodness.

Celebrate Special Occasions with Laughlin River Tours

One of the boats of Laughlin River Tours

You wouldn’t believe the hidden gem I stumbled upon for my anniversary.

The Laughlin River Tours is not just a dinner cruise, it’s an experience of a lifetime that you don’t want to miss!

Only for $79, I was showered with top-notch service from seasoned professionals and a delicious meal that could rival any 5-star restaurant.

As the boat moved gently across the water, we were treated to the most stunning views.

It felt like we had stepped into an exquisite painting, a sight that left me feeling truly relaxed and happy.

The live music added a special touch to the whole experience – it felt as if the tunes were chosen personally for us.

Yes, there were bugs, but the staff had that covered too.

They used screens to keep them at bay, and honestly, it didn’t bother me even when I was out on the deck. Pro tip:

You wouldn’t want to miss out on this unique experience, so make sure to book early, at least a day before or by 2:00 pm the day of.

The best thing about Laughlin River Tours is that they don’t just stop at the dinner cruise.

They go above and beyond to make your experience memorable. I also booked their sightseeing tour, and I am glad I did.

The staff was amazing and friendly and made us feel right at home.

And mind you, the full bar and restrooms were sparkling clean, making the overall experience even more enjoyable.

The highlight was a lovely lady upstairs, strumming her guitar and serenading us. She was absolutely phenomenal!

Despite being a regular Tuesday, it felt like a grand celebration, a special occasion that was enjoyable in every sense.

The prime rib was cooked to perfection!

Learn Maritime History at USS Riverside

Ever felt like just escaping into the riverside breeze?

Well, I’ve been there. The USS Riverside offers the perfect getaway.

Their tour service is prompt, not to mention the tickets are quite affordable.

It’s a great place for some off-duty education, and boy, do they make it fun!

We sailed on a day when the weather was on our side, and it made the tour spectacularly beautiful.

A word of advice, though: make sure you have some cash on you, as they don’t accept cards for snacks or beverages.

Also, be ready to deal with a few bugs that might join you on your tour.

I guess you can’t really control nature, can you?

I remember once; we had a friend’s wedding on the USS Riverside.

Although the venue was not very large, it had its own charm.

The staff out there are extremely friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

It’s almost therapeutic, really, the gentle rocking of the boat, the cool riverside breeze, and the warmth of the people.

Because I live nearby, I’ve visited the USS Riverside several times.

And during one of them, there was an unfortunate incident of mechanical problems that resulted in the cancellation of our tour.

But the staff didn’t let it ruin our day.

Discover the Hidden Wonders of Laughlin Labyrinths

From the moment I stumbled upon the Laughlin Labyrinths, I knew I had found something special.

You wouldn’t believe how close these enchanting patterns are, right on the hill just across from the Golden Nugget parking lot.

It’s astonishing that most folks living around here aren’t aware of this mystical haven tucked away in our backyard.

I have spent countless hours losing myself in the twisting stone paths, feeling the sand beneath my feet and the sun on my shoulders.

You haven’t truly experienced the labyrinths until you’ve seen the stone messages scattered throughout the area.

These little details make every walk an adventure, revealing hidden wisdom and unexpected surprises.

It’s not just a solitary retreat either – Laughlin Labyrinths are a hit with my family too.

The kids can’t get enough of it.

After our first visit, they couldn’t wait to come back.

It’s been a source of endless inspiration, sparking their creativity to the point where they want to build a labyrinth of their own at home!

Have a Splash at Laughlin Water Park

Have you ever driven past a place numerous times, always wondering what lay inside? That was me with the Laughlin Water Park.

I would pass it daily and always found it closed. But one fine Saturday, I finally got the chance to step inside.

I took my precious granddaughter for a day of splashing fun, and it turned out to be a memorable experience.

Contrary to my expectations, the entry fees at Laughlin Water Park were surprisingly affordable.

The real thrill, however, was the clean, shimmering pool that welcomed us with open arms.

Their strict adherence to rules and quick responsiveness to the guests’ needs blew me away.

For my family, it was a day well spent.

We found an oasis in the desert, with a cool water slide that was neither overcrowded nor overpriced.

Free parking was an added bonus.

A pro tip – don’t forget to bring sunblock, towels, snacks, and drinks.

Tee off at the Mojave Resort Golf Club

I have to tell you golfing at the Mojave Resort Golf Club is an experience like no other.

As a regular player, I’ve always been impressed by the friendly and accommodating staff.

Once, I booked a tee time through a third-party app, and due to a technical glitch, my reservation didn’t show up in their system.

Despite the peak hour rush, the staff managed to squeeze us in seamlessly.

The course itself is breathtakingly stunning.

Picture endless stretches of lush green, punctuated by the occasional sand trap, under the sprawling expanse of the desert sky.

There’s something incredibly calming about being surrounded by this natural beauty as you tee off.

One of my favorite parts about golfing at Mojave Resort Golf Club is getting to play with their rental sets.

They offer a pretty good range, from expensive Ping sets to more affordable ones. And winter golfing has its perks too.

The club applies winter rules which adds an extra layer of fun to the game.

But it’s not just about the golf.

Wildlife spotting is a bonus.

Seeing road runners and coyotes in their natural habitat is a delightful spectacle that never gets old.

Test Your Luck at Regency Casino

Thomas Trompeter / Shutterstock.com

Just another day in my life, and I find myself wandering back to the enticing allure of the Regency Casino.

As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by the chime of the slot machines calling your name.

It’s not just a casino; it’s a haven for locals like me who enjoy a casual, friendly environment accompanied by great food and services.

You can’t help but appreciate the full bar, serving both locals and tourists alike.

I recall a day when I spent hours with a few of my mates, enjoying a couple of drinks and engaging in light-hearted banter.

The bartender – always sweet and friendly, made the experience even better with their prompt service.

And the best part? The drinks won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

After a couple of rounds at the bar, we headed to the Chuck Wagon restaurant within the premises.

I remember the prime rib, served at market price, but it was worth every penny.

The flavors, the texture, everything about it was simply delectable.

I also remember how the automatic gratuity somewhat dampened the dining experience – not because it was too high, but because it limited how much we could appreciate the fantastic service.

Moreover, the casino has a cute little gift shop that adds that extra charm to it.

Imagine a place where you can play, dine, drink, and shop – all under one roof!

And not to forget, the cowboy motif that runs throughout the place is truly reminiscent of the wild west.

The highlight of this place, however, is its riverside location.

Just stepping outside for a breath of fresh air, you are graced with a serene riverside view.

It’s little things like these that make Regency Casino a beloved spot for us residents.

I would also like to mention the breakfast.

You haven’t truly experienced Regency Casino until you’ve tried the pancakes served here – they’re fluffy, slightly crispy around the edges, and absolutely delicious.

Coupled with a side of meat, potatoes, and eggs, it’s a feast that can easily be shared by two.

Have a Retreat at Laughlin River Lodge

Ah, the sweet joy of escaping the humdrum of daily life and retreating to the Laughlin River Lodge, whether it’s for a leisurely lunch, a weekend poker game, or a simple scenic respite!

Yes, parking can be a bit of a hassle, but it’s a small price to pay for the tranquil river view and the exhilarating casino atmosphere, wouldn’t you agree?

Walking into the general store is like stepping into a treasure trove.

You’ll find an eclectic mix of items that make for excellent conversation starters or delightful gifts.

As for the dining, let me tell you, it’s nothing short of excellent.

The breakfast at Laughlin River Lodge is exceptional, with generous servings and flavors that’ll make your taste buds dance, all without burning a hole in your pocket.

I recall one time when the bruschetta and fish tacos were so splendid I ended up recommending them to everyone in town!

And it’s not just about the food, folks.

The hotel service is top-notch too.

On one occasion, I requested a late checkout without any hitches, and the staff was more than accommodating.

It’s small gestures like these that make the Laughlin River Lodge a place you’d want to return to.

But, of course, the star of the show is the casino.

The player’s card point system is a blast, and whether you’re a seasoned poker player or a roulette rookie, there’s always a chance to hit the jackpot.

There are few joys quite like the thrill of winning a hand of poker in your own backyard!

Indulge in Comfort Food at Claim Jumper Restaurants

I’ve been going to Claim Jumper Restaurants for as long as I can remember, and let me tell you, those Western-themed environs never get old.

It’s more than just a restaurant; it’s a place where the comforting aroma of American comfort food fills the air and instantly makes you feel at home.

Let’s get to the meat of the matter, shall we?

The food at Claim Jumper Restaurants is downright delectable.

The sirloin steak, dare I say, is the best in town – perfectly seared, juicy, and flavorful; it’s every meat-lover’s dream come true.

The loaded baked potato and vegetables that accompany the steak round off the meal nicely, and the ribeye is just as good.

I’m not a big pizza fan, but their pepperoni pizza is something else entirely – a perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and pepperoni.

But let’s not forget about the ribs and meatloaf.

Boy, if you’re a fan of either, you’re in for a treat.

Get Inspired at Florida D. Grecco Fine Art Gallery

Let me take you on a journey to the heart of the arts community in our charming town.

There, you’ll find an artistic gem, the Florida D. Grecco Fine Art Gallery.

My journeys to this art gallery have become a frequent affair.

Whenever I have friends or family in town, I make sure to bring them over to the Florida D. Grecco Fine Art Gallery.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve bragged about the exceptional works of art on display there.

Every corner of the gallery is filled with creativity that can touch the heart and stir the soul.

I always look forward to my next visit, as each one brings a fresh wave of inspiration.

Grab a Quick Bite at PT’s Express

I love a good pizza joint, and PT’s Express at Edgewater Casino Resort is one of my regular haunts.

Their 20-inch pizzas are the perfect treat after a long day, and their triple-patty hamburgers are just right when you’re in the mood for a hearty meal.

One sunny afternoon, I found myself on the casino floor, taking a break from the roulette wheel.

The smell of frying cheese wafted over from PT’s Express and I just couldn’t resist.

I ordered a portion of their Mozzarella Sticks, and boy, were they delicious! Ten breaded cheese sticks, deep-fried to perfection.

They were piping hot, and the chunky marinara sauce that came with them was so tasty I could have eaten it with a spoon.

PT’s Express is also the place for a refreshing drink.

They only have a few beers on tap, but that works for me.

I like to enjoy a pint while watching punters try their luck at the tables.

And don’t get me started on their Club Sandwich!

Grilled bread, bacon on both sides of the middle slice, and perfectly cooked fries on the side – it’s a culinary masterpiece.

Place Your bets at Golden Nugget Laughlin Hotel & Casino

There’s something about the late-night hum of a slot machine at the Golden Nugget Laughlin Hotel & Casino that sets my heart aflutter.

The casino, aglow with neon lights, is clean, inviting, and of course, packed with endless hours of entertainment.

I’ve had many a fun night getting lost amidst the poker tables and slot machines.

My friends and I usually book one of their cozy, upscale rooms for our all-nighters.

Sure, the air conditioning could be a little colder, especially during those summer nights, but nothing beats the convenience of crashing into a plush king-sized bed after a night of games.

The one tiny complaint I have is about the shower – the faucets could do with some unclogging.

But it’s not just about gambling.

Golden Nugget Laughlin Hotel & Casino is a welcoming enclave amidst the hustle and bustle of the casino.

You can take a languid dip in the pool or soak your worries away in the spa.

The riverside setting is simply gorgeous – there’s a beach, and you can even take a river taxi for a scenic ride.

And let’s not forget about the food.

Saltgrass Steak House is one of my favorites.

The steak is cooked to perfection, and the service is always top-notch.

Catch a Game at Aquarius Casino Resort’s Race & Sportsbook

Believe me when I say, there’s no better place to kick back with friends on a game night than at the Aquarius Casino Resort’s Race & Sportsbook.

Picture this: it’s a typical Saturday afternoon.

The air is filled with anticipation – it’s game night.

You could hang out at home and watch the game on your couch, or you could take it up a notch and head over to the Aquarius Casino Resort’s Race & Sportsbook.

There’s just something about the atmosphere there that gets your adrenaline pumping.

And oh, the cleanliness! It’s a breath of fresh air, literally.

The no-smoking policy they enforce ensures that you can enjoy the games without any annoying distractions.

Everything in there is spotless and well-maintained, giving the area a new and welcoming look.

Now, let’s talk comfort.

The place is spacious enough to accommodate large crowds without feeling cramped.

Whether I’m there to play the horses or watch a game, the comfortable chairs are a huge plus.

I can sit for hours without feeling the slightest discomfort.

A special mention has to go to the numerous TV screens strategically placed all around.

You can watch your game from any angle, ensuring you don’t miss a moment of the action.

Have a Family Day Out at Kid Kastle

One sunny afternoon, I decided to entertain my kids at the Kid Kastle, a popular kids’ entertainment spot in our town.

The moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a vibrant atmosphere, and the kids immediately got excited.

We headed straight for the laser tag, which was an absolute riot!

The kids loved dashing around in the dark, beams of bright light flashing in every direction.

The VR games at Kid Kastle were a hit, too, with an array of options that kept them entertained for hours.

Shop ‘Til You Drop Laughlin Outlet Center

Let me take you on a journey off the beaten path to a place that seems to be frozen in time – the Laughlin Outlet Center.

This indoor mall, smack in the middle of the desert, has a certain charm to it, even though it’s seen better days.

Each day, as part of my routine, I’d take a stroll through its well-worn halls, passing by familiar chain stores and outlets.

My kids love Boot Barn; it seems to have everything they desire.

The staff there are friendly.

The theater is another highlight of Laughlin Outlet Center.

Recently, we watched a movie called ‘Sound of Freedom,’ a must-watch, indeed!

One of my favorite spots in the mall is the art gallery shop.

They have a fantastic collection, and I could spend hours admiring the art pieces.

Another store that’s still thriving is Burke’s.

It’s my go-to for all my clothing needs.

Other Things to Do Nearby

Walk Your Dog at Bullhead City Community Park

Peeking through my curtains as the sun rises, I know it’s a perfect day to visit my favorite local haunt – Bullhead City Community Park, at the neighboring Bullhead City, Arizona.

I hit the ground running, my loyal four-legged companion wagging his tail excitedly.

We head straight to the dog run, where he can stretch his legs and frolic with other furry friends.

The park is a haven for dog owners and for those who appreciate nature despite being in the city.

As soon as we finish our fun at the dog run, I briskly walk to the lake.

The water is cold and refreshing.

I spot a few jet skis speeding close to the shore, their wakes rippling through the otherwise calm surface.

It’s a thrill just to watch them, but a word of caution to those with little ones – always keep an eye out for safety.

Bullhead City Community Park has become a popular spot for athletic events.

It’s not uncommon to see a game of soccer or baseball taking place on the field.

The cheers and laughter from the players always add a lively atmosphere to the park.

Around lunchtime, I make my way to the 1st Ramada.

It’s conveniently the closest to the restrooms and provides a great view of the river.

I always make sure to reserve it in advance, especially on weekends when it’s a bit busier.

Cycle at Bullhead City Rotary Park

When I think of the perfect afternoon in our neighborhood, it’s always at the Bullhead City Rotary Park. It’s our family’s favorite place to escape the daily grind, and it’s not hard to see why.

With its lush green fields stretching along the riverfront, it feels like an oasis.

The kids love the playground and the thrill of the skater park.

They’ve spent countless hours trying to master jumps and tricks on their bikes at the park’s well-maintained bike park.

While the kids are busy, our dog loves to run off-leash in the designated area.

It’s great to see him frolic around with other dogs, and the park even provides poop bags, which I appreciate.

Bullhead City Rotary Park is also home to a variety of birds, adding a touch of nature’s music to our day out.

For us adults, we often find respite under the shade of trees.

The park is never too crowded, which allows for some peace and tranquility despite being in the heart of the city.

I remember the transformation the city undertook about nine years ago, and the results are evident.

The park now offers so much more, with the addition of a boat launch, beach areas for a refreshing dip in the river, and several ball fields.

We also enjoy the community vibe at the park.

Whether it’s casual parties, baseball games, or just folks enjoying a barbeque by the river, there’s always something to look forward to.

The restrooms are always clean, which speaks volumes about the sense of responsibility amongst park-goers.

Get a Glimpse into the Past at Colorado River Museum

Wandering through the Colorado River Museum is like stepping back in time.

Each time I visit, I find myself immersed in the rich heritage of our region, with historic photographs and local memorabilia painting a vivid picture of where we’ve come from.

It’s surprising to discover tidbits of history from our own backyard.

Did you know the renowned author, Louis L’Amour, once resided in this area?

It’s fascinating to see how much our humble town has grown since his time here in the 1940s.

The museum itself might seem small, but its new building is airy and comfortable, fitted with air conditioning for those sweltering summer days.

Remember, you don’t need to set aside an entire day to explore this museum.

With its compact size, you can easily wander through its halls in a short while.

Even though the entrance to Colorado River Museum is free, I make it a point to leave a donation during each visit.

It’s a small way to support this gem that does so much to preserve our community’s rich history.

Go Trai Riding at the Dead Mountains Wilderness Area

Living around the Dead Mountains Wilderness Area has been quite an adventure.

It’s a vast mountainous desert region spanning over 47,157 acres of untamed beauty.

Even though the place can get incredibly hot, with temperatures soaring towards 100° F, there’s something uniquely captivating about it.

You can feel the scorching gusts of wind against your skin as you set out for a hike on a hot afternoon. It’s as if nature has thrown an open challenge, and you can’t help but accept it.

The hiking trails here are exquisite, each leading to a new discovery.

The area is rife with grasshoppers and blossoms, adding an unexpected touch of color and life amid the desert landscape.

While most of the flowers have wilted due to the harsh climate, they still hold a certain charm in their crispy state.

One of my absolute favorite activities is trail riding.

There’s nothing quite like maneuvering your way through the rocky terrain on a horse, feeling the thrill of the wild.

It feels like a glimpse back in time, especially when you come across the numerous petroglyphs scattered across the area.

Don’t let the name fool you, the Dead Mountains Wilderness Area is teeming with wildlife.

From rattlesnakes to coyotes and rare tortoises, there’s always an opportunity for a wild encounter.

Go Geocaching at Von Schmidt Boundary Park

Feeling the wind in my hair as I stroll through Von Schmidt Boundary Park, I’m taken back to a time when this small, seemingly insignificant spot marked an important part of history.

It’s a bit of an out-of-the-way surprise, tucked away in the desert expanse, but its cool historical significance makes it a must-visit for anyone, especially geocache fans.

It’s amusing to think that this park isn’t where it’s supposed to be.

Yes, you heard me right. The monument that marks the boundary between Nevada and California was miscalculated during its original placement.

For history buffs like me, this little-known fact adds an extra layer of intrigue to the park.

Visiting the park, I’m reminded of how the past is engraved in the most unexpected places, like this monument standing tall amidst the desert scrub.

Von Schmidt Boundary Park is not a typical park with playgrounds or picnic spots, but its historical aura makes it a worthwhile stop.

Plus, the sweeping desert views never fail to take my breath away.

Final Thoughts

Laughlin, Nevada, has so much more to offer than just its renowned casinos.

There’s always something new to discover, and every experience leaves me wanting more.
