Visit Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park

As one of Texas’s most important landmarks, the Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park is an excellent place to visit with your family and friends.

It’s a 3.5-acre park surrounded by 13 flags that serves as a historical landmark in the state.

As you step into this park, you will be guided through every step of history for this region, from its journey under Mexico to the day it became its own country.

At the center of everything is The Texian — a 14-foot tall bronze sculpture by Craig Campobella made to resemble an average volunteer soldier who fought so valiantly during the Texas Revolution.

The bust at the monument’s entrance honors designer Charles B. Stewart, who designed the Lone Star flag.

The park is within walking distance of the Montgomery County Library.

Take Part in the Fall Festival at P-6 Farms

P-6 Farms has great family fun waiting for you, with activities including hayrides, a corn maze, and pumpkin patch, harvest-inspired treats, animals like sheep and pigs, caged birds, and more.

The holiday season is always packed with events in Montgomery.

Whether you want to take photos with your family that capture your precious moments or simply enjoy some outdoor fun, a trip to the farm will be worth it.

Not only do they offer pumpkin patches, farm animals, and hayrides (this farm has two intricate corn mazes — one of which is six acres big!), but you can also get an adrenaline rush on their roller coaster!

Old Time Christmas Tree Farm can be exceptional for the holidays, even during fall.

There is a pumpkin patch that provides the best jack-o-lanterns you’ll ever see, as well as other farm-fresh seasonal fares.

Then there’s a petting zoo and train ride, which you could enjoy afterward.

If you want to shop, they have an onsite marketplace offering handmade local artisans’ wares.

Go Kayaking with North Lake Conroe Paddling Co

North Lake Conroe Paddling Co. (NLCPC) offers kayaking services for the whole of the year.

Whether you are renting a kayak individually or with a small group, NLCPC is more than willing to help you have the perfect time on your trip to Lake Conroe, which is one of Texas’s most popular destinations for nature floats along its rivers and lakes.

They welcome both newcomers and experienced paddlers.

NLCPC encourages you to experience this amazing sport that they enjoy, whether it’s year-round or just on the weekends, because nothing beats seeing nature from a different point of view.

They’ll provide you with clean kayaks, a safe environment to paddle around, one that’s fun to explore!

Additionally, the convenient location of Calvary Road in Willis ensures you’ll be able to quickly drive here so that you can go kayaking without having to do all the cumbersome work of getting your boat from a different location.

Taste Delectable Wines at the B.E. Winery

Established in 2017, B.E. Blue Epiphany Winery is a North–Houston winery and vineyard located on 15 acres of lush Texas piney woods.

It’s situated just less than an hour north of Downtown Houston and is also located in Conroe, TX.

B.E. Winery began working with five different varieties of wine: two white, three red.

You’ve got to come here on Saturday.

Strolling by the lake on a Saturday as you travel to B.E. Winery for a tasting is always nice to forget about the humdrum of everyday life.

On Saturday evenings, their live music is top-notch and provides the perfect ambiance for an evening out after a long week at work with friends.

A nice selection of dry reds and quickly swoon-worthy whites are available – including a delicious sweet white.

Stroll Shops at Waterpoint Shopping Center

Waterpoint Shopping Center would certainly be one amazing destination to visit thanks to the variety of things it has to offer.

You can find it at Lake Conroe — on its southern shores.

This one-of-a-kind destination offers a spectacular marina made up of over 100,000 square feet of retail space.

In addition, there’s a half-mile boardwalk that overlooks the water offering an incredible view to patrons and shoppers alike.

The other thing you’ll love about Waterpoint Shopping Center is the Fish Feeding Pier next to their restaurant plaza.

The Waterpoint has so much to offer for food choices, including Marble Slab Creamery when you’re in the mood for ice cream on those warm summery days.

If you want to enjoy the splendor of this spectacular lake as you dine, stop by Starbucks for your morning coffee.

Dine at San Miguel De Allende Bar and Grill

You’ll find San Miguel De Allende Bar and Grill at Montgomery before you drive through the bridge heading towards Willis.

Standard Tex-Mex can be found here for very reasonable prices.

The ambiance is amazing, thanks to a guitar-playing singer who is not too loud so you can have a nice conversation with whomever it is that you invited along.

The staff is friendly and courteous, which makes dining here an absolute pleasure.

They are very professional and helpful when it comes to securing another menu item – food or drink.

Because San Miguel uses only fresh ingredients, a slim chance exists that they could run out of something popular.

Among its signature dishes are delicious Carne Guisada (braised beef), and one might as well spice things up with some margaritas.

Experience Jet Boarding with Lone Star Flyboard

Trade in that paddleboard for a FlyBoard and go up to 55 feet in the air for an out-of-this-world experience above Lake Conroe, all powered by water.

Lone Star Flyboard offers such an experience, and you can find them on the southern part of Lake Conroe; it’s close to Waterpoint Marina.

Riders can soar into the sky at speeds propelled by two powerful streams of water that shoot from the FlyBoard’s lower-powered jets.

The jets’ operation uses a simple system that’s easy to understand.

All pilots must complete a 15-minute safety and operation training course.

Certified flight instructors are on board each flight to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Hangout at Ayers Island

Ayers Island is the place to go to if you’re looking for a summertime adventure.

Located on Lake Conroe, it’s a beautiful place where all kinds of boats and people like to hang out during the summer months.

The best part of the island is the “Waist Deep” area because it’s not only a clay deposit that stretches across several hundred yards, but it’s also exceptionally wide as well.

And Ayers Island is always a nice place to visit if one meets up here with friends or family because the water is somewhat softer here than further out in deeper parts of the lake.

However, that softness attracts kids who are looking for something they can play around in rather than harder and faster currents — so make sure to take that into account when planning your outing.

Ayers Island is accessible through boat or kayak only.

Get Outdoorsy at John Burge Park

John Burge Park at Shadow Lakes is a 39-acre green oasis located on the northwest side of Conroe, Texas.

It offers guests a variety of colors and experiences, including the outdoor exercise areas where the paint still remains fresh since development.

Originally purchased from the Stoecker Corporation in 2009, the park was developed, and work there got underway shortly after.

John Burge Park has had an extensive makeover not long ago and now consists of a lot of exciting amenities.

There’s plenty to do here whether you’re looking for a fun sport like disc golf that you can play with friends or your family.

Or, you can just appreciate a more relaxing activity, such as communing with nature by taking in the splendid views at the park’s expansive grounds.

An artistic touch here where there used to lack one is “The Magnolia Tree” by Conroe artist Craig Campobella who recently spent months creating this beautiful masterpiece located under the pavilion.
