Fouke is a city in Miller County, Arkansas, belonging to the Texarkana Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Before Europe colonized the Americas, the Native American Caddo people inhabited Fouke.
After Arkansas gained statehood, settlers began flowing into the area, and the Caddo population got pushed out.
James H. Fouke, a Presbyterian lumberman, entrepreneur, and railroad executive, helped establish a colony and donated land for a school in 1902.
They named the city after him to pay tribute to his generosity.
The city saw many improvements to its infrastructure after its incorporation, such as dirt and gravel streets, a new city hall, a jail, and a fire station.
In 1972, it received widespread national attention when Charles B. Pierce produced a cult hit movie, The Legend of Boggy Creek, revolving around the infamous Fouke monster legend.
In the 2000s, Fouke celebrated the opening of the Fouke community center and the Miller County Historical and Family Museum.
The Boggy Creek Festival began in 2013 to promote the local area and bind the community together.

The Fouke Monster, or Boggy Creek Monster, is a creature resembling a Sasquatch.
Legends say it skulks around the net of creeks that extend to the Sulphur River Bottoms in Fouke.

The Four States Auto Museum is open to the public free of charge, spreading interest in automotive history.
You can find it in Texarkana, Arkansas, 19 minutes from Fouke.
Likewise, the museum collects, preserves, exhibits, and interprets a collection of auto transportation equipment, automobiles, documents, photographs, and related historical artifacts.
It operates, restores, and exhibits pieces of automotive equipment and shows static exhibits which give recreational and educational experiences.
Its collections cover 100 years of automotive history, including over 20 automobiles displayed on a rotating basis, from three to six months.

The Three Chicks Feed, Seed, and Café is a boutique, restaurant, and actual feed store.
Three Texarkana ladies imagined a local hangout where you can buy animal feed and eat simultaneously.
Angie Watson and her two best friends, Dee Dee Rogers and Julie Miller, came up with the idea for the store in 2011.
Today, Angie does the ordering for the store’s feed and hardware sections.
Julie manages the food and supply orders from the Chuck Wagon.
She also does cooking, shopping, and event management.
Dee Dee takes care of taxes, balances the books, loads and fulfills orders in the feed warehouse, and takes care of the live animals.
In two years, these women have opened a feed store, a tack store, a hardware store, and a lawn and garden center.
