16 Incredible Restaurants in Concord, NH You Need to Try
By Blake Walsh · Updated

Concord has been New Hampshire’s capital since 1808, and its dining centers on Main Street, where restaurants, coffee shops and bars make up about a quarter of the storefronts in a 2026 Concord Monitor count. The State House, finished in 1819, is the oldest state capitol where the legislature still meets in its original chambers, and a few places below sit within sight of it. Outside the core, the city spreads out: Manchester Street and Loudon Road for old favorites and barbecue, Pleasant Street for Thai, Indian and Italian, and Penacook, the old mill village on the Contoocook River at the city’s northern edge, for a bistro and a breakfast spot.
This guide covers 16 places, from a farm-to-table dining room and a classic Italian restaurant on Depot Street, a Texas-style barbecue counter and a roast beef restaurant open since 1978 to a noodle bar and weekday cafés near the State House. Ratings and review counts come from each restaurant’s Google listing in October 2026.
Revival Kitchen & Bar
Revival Kitchen & Bar is at 11 Depot Street in downtown Concord, upstairs from the Italian restaurant Angelina’s. Chef and owner Corey Fletcher, a Milford native who had cooked at Granite Restaurant and Bar and 55 Degrees, opened it in January 2017 in the former Sunny’s Table space. The name refers to reviving New England and Old World classics with local meat, produce and dairy. The restaurant describes the feel as fine dining with an approachable atmosphere.
Rated 4.7 stars from more than 700 Google reviews, Revival was named the Dining champion in the 2025 Cappies, the Concord area’s annual readers’ awards. The current menu starts with Bang Island mussels, ricotta gnocchi, fried calamari and lobster poutine (fries with cheese curds and gravy, topped with lobster). Mains include seared sea scallops, a grilled Brookford Farm pork chop and the RKB burger. Finish with the Boston cream tart or the brown butter walnut carrot cake.
Revival serves dinner only, and reservations are taken through Tock, so book ahead for weekend evenings. The nights it opens have varied over the years, so check the website or call before you plan around a particular day. The bar keeps a list of whiskeys and dessert spirits, which makes it easy to linger after dinner. The menu follows the seasons and the farms, so expect it to change.

Angelina’s Ristorante Italiano
Angelina’s Ristorante Italiano is at 11 Depot Street, downstairs from Revival Kitchen & Bar. Owner Rick Dennison has run it since the late 1990s. A burst pipe flooded the dining room in December 2020, and the restaurant stayed closed for most of 2021 before reopening in October with a new seven-seat bar. The food menu did not change. The room is small, with about a dozen tables.
Angelina’s holds 4.5 stars from more than 400 Google reviews and took the top spot for Italian and for romantic dining in the Concord Monitor readers’ picks for 2025. The kitchen leans on pasta and seafood. Dishes that regularly come up include linguine with clam sauce, scallops griglia, seafood risotto, seafood fettuccine Alfredo and veal Marsala with risotto, plus chicken parmigiana for a plainer plate. Tiramisu is a common finish.
Seating is limited, and the restaurant takes reservations only by phone during business hours, so call ahead. The website lists lunch Tuesday through Friday and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday closed. The room can get noisy and the pace is unhurried, so it suits a long dinner more than a quick one. Check hours before you go, since menus and hours can change.

The Red Blazer Restaurant & Pub
The Red Blazer Restaurant & Pub sits at 72 Manchester Street, about two miles east of downtown. Inside are warm wood interiors, a fireplace and a bar with a long beer list. Owner Sarandis Karathanasis, a Concord native, marked the restaurant’s 20th anniversary in March 2020, when it employed 96 people, many of them for ten years or more. It runs an in-house bakery and holds an annual St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Concord.
With 4.5 stars from more than 3,000 Google reviews, it is one of the most reviewed restaurants in the city. The menu is American pub food and comfort cooking. The dishes that come up most are steak tips (marinated sirloin pieces) over mashed potatoes, maple wings, fish and chips and baked stuffed haddock. Concord Monitor readers named it among the area’s best for dinner, fine dining, burgers and dessert in 2025.
The dining rooms are large and the restaurant is used to groups and celebrations, so call ahead for a big party or a holiday meal. Readers also ranked it among the best buffets in 2025, so ask whether a buffet is running before you plan a meal around one. There is plenty of parking, which helps since it is a drive from downtown. Check hours before you go, especially around holidays.

The Barley House
The Barley House Restaurant & Tavern is at 132 North Main Street, overlooking the State House. Owner Brian Shea opened it in October 1999 in a vacant tavern space, and he says the crowd still ranges from families to lawmakers to longtime regulars. Tables spill onto the Main Street sidewalk in warm weather, an addition that began during the pandemic and now makes summer one of its best seasons.
Its 4.4-star rating across more than 2,400 Google reviews puts it among the most reviewed spots in the city. Burgers are the draw. The Dublin Burger, made with peppercorn-charred beef, whiskey gravy, blue cheese and crispy onions, is the signature, and Concord Monitor readers listed the Barley House among the area’s best for burgers in 2025. The bar backs it up with craft beer and a large selection of Irish whiskey.
Closing time moved back to 10 p.m. about a year ago after several years at 9 p.m., so check hours if you are planning a late dinner. It is an easy walk from the State House. Each June the restaurant runs Burgerfest, a week of specialty burgers that benefits the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth, and the 21st one ran in 2026. This is the only Barley House now.

Alexandra’s Bistro
Alexandra’s Bistro is at 15 Village Street in Penacook, the village at the northern end of Concord, about five miles from downtown. Chef Daniel Pilsbury opened it in 2022 in the former Donatello’s Pizza building and named it for his late wife, Alexandra, who died in December 2021. The kitchen cooks from scratch with local producers, and the room has a full bar and a separate dining area.
Rated 4.7 stars from more than 200 Google reviews, Alexandra’s serves a seasonal menu that draws on Italy, France and Spain. Dishes that show up on the restaurant’s site and in reviews include Maine lobster ravioli, pan-seared scallops, grilled swordfish, Brussels sprouts and an autumn burrata salad, and the menu also lists a Philly cheesesteak quesadilla. The cocktail list includes a lavender lemon drop martini.
The restaurant keeps a short week, open Thursday through Sunday with later hours on Friday and Saturday. It recommends booking ahead, and you can reserve online through its website or by phone. Private parties and catering can be arranged. Penacook is a short drive north of downtown, so plan on driving, and check hours before you go.

90 Low
90 Low is off Eagle Square at 90 Low Avenue, in a brick space that was once the speakeasy Chuck’s Barbershop and later N’awlins Grille. Owner and chef Kelly O’Connor, a Penacook native who spent about ten years cooking in Concord kitchens, opened it on May 7, 2025. Inside are red walls, original brick, arched doorways and ball lights strung across the ceiling. The menu is Americana fusion comfort food with modern cocktails, and it changes often.
A 4.7-star rating from more than 110 Google reviews makes 90 Low a newer favorite, with local press behind it. Early menu items included fried Brussels sprouts and a Bahn Mi Burger, and the bar makes a maple bourbon espresso martini. At opening, a three-item menu of a lavender lemonade, a burger and a New York cheesecake sent a quarter of its proceeds to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
There was an open mic on Thursdays and live music on Fridays when it opened, so ask what is on if you want a quiet dinner. It serves food from 10 a.m. on Sundays, which makes it one of the few downtown places with a sit-down Sunday breakfast. Check hours for other days and ask about reservations.

Curry Leaf
Curry Leaf is at 6 Pleasant Street, a short walk from Main Street. It took over from House of India, which opened in 2002 and was a downtown fixture for more than twenty years before closing in July 2023. Inder Jit Saini, who also owns a Curry Leaf in Foxborough, Massachusetts, renamed it. Handmade Phulkaris (embroidered cloths from Punjab) hang from the ceiling, and Indian music plays in the background.
With 4.7 stars from more than 1,000 Google reviews, Curry Leaf is also a strong choice for vegetarians, and Concord Monitor readers listed it among the area’s best for vegetarian fare in 2025. The menu is mostly northern Indian, with a few Nepalese specialties, and the kitchen makes everything from scratch. Starters include paneer pakora, onion bhaji and gobi Manchurian (crisp cauliflower in a spicy sauce), and the dinner menu adds chole bhature (chickpea curry with puffed fried bread).
Lunch was served until 3 p.m. when the restaurant opened under its new owner, and reviewers mention a lunch bento box deal. The kitchen can adjust the spice level, so say how hot you want it when you order. Check hours before you go, and call ahead about larger groups.

Asian Thai Kitchen
Asian Thai Kitchen is at 62 Pleasant Street, a short walk from the State House. It is run by the Senasy family, whose members also run restaurants in Bar Harbor, Freeport and Topsham, Maine. Kaysone Senasy, the youngest of eight sisters, leads the Concord kitchen, which opened in June 2024 after New Hampshire customers of the Maine restaurants asked for a branch closer to home.
Google reviewers give it 4.7 stars across more than 200 reviews, and it serves Bangkok-style Thai food in large portions. Try the shrimp pad Thai, the fresh shrimp spring rolls, pad see ew (wide rice noodles in a soy-based sauce), the mango fried rice or the pho. Larb, a minced-meat herb salad, is a dish the cook especially enjoys making. The menu also lists green curry, tom yum soup and mango sticky rice.
It is a small, family-run room with a handful of tables, and much of the business is takeout. The website lists dine-in, carryout and delivery Monday through Saturday, and the restaurant is closed on Sundays. Weekends can be busy, so call ahead for pickup or a group. You can ask for a spice level or no added heat when you order. Check hours before you go.

Buba Kitchen
Buba Kitchen is at 148 North Main Street, in the downtown space that was Whiskey and Wine before it. Owner Trumin Nguyen came to the U.S. from Vietnam at 18, studied engineering and worked as an engineer for about four years before moving into restaurants. He opened Buba Noodle Bar in Manchester first, then brought a Vietnamese-inspired menu to Concord in December 2023. The name stands for Be Unique Be Authentic, and the room has a bar.
With 4.5 stars from more than 200 Google reviews, Buba is where downtown goes for noodles. Ramen and pho sit at the center of the menu. Look for the Spicy Miso Ramen (with kimchi, bok choy and a soft-boiled egg), the Bulgogi Shoyu Ramen and the Buba Pho, a beef noodle soup. Bao buns, a crab rangoon egg roll and Asian street tapas (small shareable plates) fill out the table.
Online ordering for pickup runs through Toast, which is handy for a quick lunch. The website posts hours, and the kitchen closes 15 minutes before the doors do. Private events can be arranged, and the bar makes it a fine spot for a drink with dinner. The restaurant also offered free meals during the SNAP benefit delays of November 2025.

Nonna’s Place
Nonna’s Place is at 60 Pleasant Street, a few blocks from the State House. It is a casual Italian restaurant that cooks its pasta, sauces and desserts from scratch and bakes thin-crust pizza in a brick oven. It offers dine-in, takeout, catering and a private party room, and guests describe the dining room as cozy, with seating upstairs. The menu mixes red-sauce favorites with a few twists, such as chicken parm egg rolls.
Nonna’s earns 4.5 stars from more than 400 Google reviews and is a dependable choice for a plain Italian dinner. Dishes that customers favor include eggplant parmigiana with homemade zucchini pasta, Nonna’s meatball, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana and a BBQ chicken pizza from the brick oven. The kitchen also makes a lemon pepper salmon, and dessert is tiramisu or cannoli. Mozzarella sticks are a shareable starter.
The website lists lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, with Friday and Saturday running an hour later, and Sunday hours are not posted, so call before planning a Sunday meal. Street parking nearby is metered and limited, so give yourself a few extra minutes. Takeout and catering are easy to arrange by phone.

603 Bar-B-Q
603 Bar-B-Q is at 388 Loudon Road, at the far end of the road near Exit 3, in a 1951 building that was long the Pit Road Lounge. It reopened there on Father’s Day weekend in 2026 after a long renovation, with indoor seating for more than 100 people and a patio that holds about 130. Owner Ben Normandeau, a Concord native and former electrician, began with a food truck and visited dozens of barbecue joints in Texas, and the cooking is Texas style.
With 4.8 stars from more than 700 Google reviews, it is one of the top-rated restaurants in the city. Brisket and sausage come off smokers outside the building, and past menus have also listed ribs, pulled pork, cornbread, mac and cheese and baked potatoes. Sides on the website include corn salad, baked beans and garlic bread. Texas barbecue is beef-forward, so the brisket is the place to start.
Hours are short: Thursday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., or until the food sells out, and the restaurant is closed Monday through Wednesday. You order at a long counter after a snaking line, with sides first and meat last. The old food-truck setup drew about 100 people on a typical Saturday, so arrive before noon. Call-ahead orders are not offered, so check availability before a long drive.

Beefside
Beefside has been serving roast beef sandwiches at 106 Manchester Street since August 8, 1978. Billy and Susan Ray bought a former ice cream shop and began with walk-up service and a staff of four. Early on, Billy stood in a parking lot in a clown suit, waving at passing cars to draw customers. Longtime employees bought the restaurant from the Rays in 2020 and kept the menu and decor the same, down to the Pet Corner of employees’ dogs on the walls.
Beefside holds 4.6 stars from more than 2,100 Google reviews and is a lunch institution. The roast beef sandwich is the reason to come. Regulars also order corn chowder, fish chowder, onion rings and onion nuggets, and the menu extends to seafood and hickory-smoked barbecue. Concord Monitor readers named it among the best for lunch, takeout and fried food in 2025.
There is a dining room and a patio, and Beefside is also a takeout favorite, so you can grab a sandwich on your way through town. It is about two miles east of downtown, so plan on driving. Check hours before you go, especially if you are heading out late.

Concord Craft Brewing
Concord Craft Brewing is at 117 Storrs Street, a short walk from Main Street. It held its first public tastings in January 2017 and has since expanded its taproom and renovated the kitchen. By 2023 it had 16 beers on tap, from classic IPAs to a barrel-aged stout. The flagship beer is called Safe Space.
Its 4.7-star score from more than 300 Google reviews fits a place that works as a dinner stop as well as a beer stop. The kitchen makes flatbreads, including the Brewmaster, the Hop Garden, the Granite and a plain Margherita, along with burgers and tapas-style plates. Order a flight if you want to taste several beers, and pair it with a flatbread to share.
Hours vary by day, and the kitchen closes a little earlier than the taproom, so check before you go. The taproom opens around noon on weekends and mid-afternoon on weekdays. Beer can be ordered online for pickup. It hosted World Cup watch parties in 2026, so expect a crowd on big game days.

The Post Restaurant & Bakery
The Post Restaurant & Bakery is at 125 Fisherville Road in Penacook, in the north end of Concord. Owner Victoria Johnson bought the restaurant, then known as the Newell Post, in fall 2018 and later opened a downtown branch on Main Street. That branch closed in May 2025 when its lease ended. The Fisherville Road restaurant stays open, and Johnson has talked about putting more focus on bakery and catering there.
With 4.6 stars from more than 1,000 Google reviews, it is a classic breakfast and lunch place serving omelets, waffles, BLTs and home fries. Reviewers point to the Greek omelet, biscuits and gravy, French toast and chocolate chip pancakes, and tourtière (a French Canadian meat pie) shows up too. Burgers come on grilled deli rolls, including the Post Deluxe and a breakfast burger with a fried egg.
Weekend mornings can bring a wait, so go early or on a weekday. Parking at the restaurant is limited. Hours are posted on the website, so check before you drive out. Washington Street Café
Washington Street Café is at 88 Washington Street, a family-owned weekday café and caterer a few blocks from the State House. The family, who came to Concord from Lebanon, opened it in 1985, according to the Concord Monitor, and it won the Monitor readers’ award for best caterer in 2019, its sixth people’s choice win. The menu is a mix of breakfast pastries, specialty sandwiches and Mediterranean wraps and plates.
A 4.7-star rating from more than 160 Google reviews matches the café’s showing in the 2025 Concord Monitor readers’ picks for breakfast, lunch, takeout, family dining and vegetarian food. Try the Lebanese panini (slow-braised chicken shawarma with tahini, tomato, pickle and feta), a sandwich such as the W.S. Reuben or the Fat Cow, or a wrap like the gyro or the chicken lala. Breakfast includes donuts, bagels and egg burritos.
The café is open weekdays only, from morning to early afternoon, so it is a breakfast and lunch stop and not a dinner one. Soups change weekly, and the daily lunch specials come with chips. Large orders go through the catering side, so call the catering line at (603) 228-2000, and check for closures around holidays.

Twelve31 Café & Catering
Twelve31 Café & Catering is at 100 North Main Street, Suite 101, with a view of the State House. She spent years as a chef at hotels around Boston, directing banquets and catering for hundreds of guests. The café has a chill atmosphere.
Twelve31 holds 4.9 stars from more than 110 Google reviews and serves sandwiches, salads and soups that it playfully calls chowdah. New England clam chowder is on the soup list, and the hot honey prosciutto mozzarella panini and the chipotle chicken avocado panini make a quick lunch.
The café is open weekdays only and closes in mid-afternoon, so plan it as breakfast or lunch. Breakfast sandwiches come on grilled English muffins or croissants. Online ordering through Toast helps with a fast pickup, and the catering side handles larger orders. Check hours before you go.

Final Thoughts
Downtown is busiest at lunch and quiet in the evening, so book dinner ahead at places such as Revival Kitchen & Bar, Angelina’s and Alexandra’s Bistro. At 603 Bar-B-Q, which is open only Thursday to Sunday afternoons and can sell out, aim to arrive before noon. The weekday cafés close by mid-afternoon, and Sunday morning options are fewer, though 90 Low serves food from 10 a.m. Beefside and the Red Blazer are east of downtown, 603 Bar-B-Q is out on Loudon Road, and Alexandra’s and the Post are in Penacook, so plan to drive. Hours change, so check before you go.
