Cedar Point in Erie County has been a staple of American summers for more than 150 years, and it's simple to understand why.

As the "Roller Coaster Capital of the World," it boasts 70 attractions, including 17 roller coasters, a water park (Cedar Point Shores), three play areas (Kids Quest, Splash Island, and Splash Country), overnight lodging, live entertainment, a mile-long beach, and a variety of family-friendly activities.

Open during summer and fall, winter means off-season to this destination.

Although you can't experience the thrill and excitement of rides when visiting in February, you can still experience Cedar Point and Sandusky in a different light.

February 4 and February 5 (08:00 am) – Clash at the Point

When 2023 rolls around, so will Clash at the Point, a sold-out event in 2022.

The Cedar Point Sports Center will host this competition on February 4 and 5, 2023.

See some great action amongst teams from the surrounding five states!

February 11 - February 12 – Valentine's Challenge

Those interested in volleyball and in the Cedar Point area on February 11 might consider attending the "Valentine's Challenge," a two-day event presented by the Ohio Valley Region at the Cedar Point Sports Center.

Viewers must be 19 or older to enter.

You may buy tickets for $10.00 on the day of the tournament or in advance.

February 18 – February 20 – Battle of Ohio Valley

On Presidents Day weekend, the Battle of the Ohio Valley will return.

On February 18–20, 2023, Cedar Point Sports Center will play home to this three-day tournament.

This cutting-edge facility has 20 courts and can house 160 teams under one roof.

Watch some exciting matchups amongst teams from a 5-state region.

Each player and coach will receive a complimentary 5-day pass to the world's roller coaster capital.

February 5 (12:00 pm) – Strike Out ALS Charity Bowling Tournament

Star Lanes Bowling & Entertainment in Port Clinton will host the Strike Out ALS Charity Bowling Tournament.

It will be a scotch doubles competition.

Teams will play at least two games against each other, with each player bowling five frames.

All equipment, including games and shoes, and contributions to the Henry Ford ALS Clinical Studies are all covered in the $30 per team registration fee.

February 11 (6:00 pm) – Comedy Night

Loosen up and catch Sons of the American Legion's Comedy Night at Green Springs, Ohio!

Bring your friends and family for some good times and a few beers.

Standup comedians Mark Chalifoux, Brian Kenny, and Miki Janosi will perform at this event.

February 14 (6:00 pm-8:00 pm) - Valentine's Day Dinner & Wine Pairing

Spend Valentine's Day with your special someone at Chateau Winery & Vineyard in Helena, Ohio.

At Valentine's Day Dinner & Wine Pairing, each of the five courses comes with a two-ounce wine.

You may get your tickets ahead of time either through the winery's website or in person.

February 25 (12:00 pm-9:00 pm) – Burning Snowman 2023

Toss winter to the wolves at Burning Snowman 2023.

The festivities will take place on Lakeshore Drive in Port Clinton, Ohio.

There will be fire dancers, ice sculptures, hobo fires, hot tubs, and s'mores and hot cocoa for everybody.

The event culminates in the burning of a massive paper snowman as a signal for the arrival of spring.

The music festival tops off this city-wide celebration of establishing Port Clinton as a trendy vacation spot.

There will be live music and festival-themed events at bars and restaurants throughout town.

Final Thoughts

Cedar Point, Ohio, may not be your winter destination, but an event or two won't hurt if you're looking for something to kill time while visiting this place.
