Get Inspired at SCERA Center for the Arts

You wouldn't believe the kind of joy SCERA Center for the Arts brings into my life.
It's almost like a second home to me.
I've lost count of the number of movies, plays, and musicals I've attended here.
The talent on display is simply mind-boggling.
It's a hidden gem, one of the most underrated theaters in all of Utah.
Last year, I had the unique opportunity to see the JOHNSON FILES perform live here.
I can't even begin to describe the sheer hilarity of their performance.
If you thought they were funny in videos, wait till you see them live.
I've watched their show three times since then, and every time, it leaves me in stitches.
But the SCERA Center for the Arts isn't just about shows and performances.
The place itself is a marvel to behold.
The building exudes a charming character with its different wings.
One of my favorite spots is this lounge-like area with plush chairs and couches, where you can relax and soak in the ambience.
And guess what, there's a piano too!
Although playing it during movies isn't the best idea, it adds a touch of class to the place.
And did I mention the Orem Heritage Museum tucked away inside the SCERA?
It provides a fascinating glimpse into our city's history.
I've spent countless hours exploring the exhibits there.
Treat the Angler in You with Simply Fly Fishing Guide Service Utah
I've been living in Utah for a long time now, and I've always been a fan of the great outdoors and the adventures it offers.
Yet, something was missing, and I realized it was fly fishing.
I couldn't think of a better way to spend a weekend than casting a fly line in the tranquil waters of Provo River.
That's when I came across Simply Fly Fishing Guide Service Utah.
The owner and guide was nothing short of amazing.
He was patient instructive, and gave me effective tips to improve my casting and lure selection.
And, lo and behold, I landed the biggest rainbow trout I'd ever caught in a Utah river.
It was exhilarating!
Fast forward to the next trip, when I thought it would be exciting to introduce my young son to the joys of fly fishing.
The smile on my son's face when he caught his first fish on a fly rod is something I'll never forget.
With Simply Fly Fishing Guide Service Utah, you're not just reeling in fish; you're learning how to do it more effectively.
I've also gone on a trip with my spouse, who hadn't fished in years.
It was a beautiful and relaxing day, and we both caught more fish than we ever had in one day.
Bond over Mysteries at Red Giant Escape Rooms
When it comes to local entertainment, nothing beats the heart-stopping thrill and captivating world of Red Giant Escape Rooms.
My friends and I, always up for a good challenge, decided to test our wits and teamwork in a room called the 'Ministry of Magic.'
Our guide for the adventure was the amazing Dylan, a live actor who brought the magic of the wizarding world to life.
His spell-binding performance, combined with his deep knowledge of wizardry, made the game more real and exciting.
The room was a marvel on its own, full of enchanting special effects that added depth to our magical journey.
Every detail, every puzzle, was designed with such creativity that it left us in awe.
As we delved deeper into the room, our excitement grew, and we found ourselves fully immersed in the wizarding world.
We were also fortunate to have Paige as an actor in our game of 'The Adams Mansion.'
She was a master of her craft, portraying her character with such authenticity that it brought the room alive.
Her quick wit and humor added a refreshing touch to our nail-biting experience.
Our journey through the 'Excalibur' room was equally thrilling.
The room was a masterpiece, with an intricate design that kept us guessing at every turn.
Each puzzle was a test of our teamwork and problem-solving skills, offering a fun and challenging experience.
Our actor for the room, Sy, was in character throughout, enhancing our immersion in the game.

Discover the Thrill at Rhyno's Axe Throwing & Archery
Last weekend, I decided to liven up my usual routine and discovered the thrill at Rhyno's Axe Throwing & Archery.
Not sure what to expect, I had the pleasure of spending a delightful afternoon trying my hand at axe throwing and archery.
The place was buzzing with energy.
I was greeted by friendly staff who exhibited a genuine passion for their work.
They gave me a brief but comprehensive explanation of the rules and etiquette, which made me feel comfortable and ready to tackle the activities.
Despite some of the paper targets looking a touch weary and the occasional arrow needing a bit of TLC, the whole experience was more fun than I initially imagined it would be.
The staff were always chill, ready to assist when any equipment issues arose, contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
Then came the time to celebrate a family member's birthday, and I must say, Rhyno's Axe Throwing & Archery was the perfect spot.
We had fun throwing axes and stars, then switched over to the archery range.
The pricing was fair, and the time allocated for each activity was ample - we never felt rushed.
One of the highlights of Rhyno's was that it’s not just for adults.
On one of my visits, I brought along my seven-year-old nephew, who absolutely loved it.
From axe throwing to archery and even rock climbing, there was no shortage of activities to keep him engaged.
He had such a good time; he didn’t want to leave!
Have a Picnic at Nielsen's Grove Park
There's something infinitely peaceful about the gentle rustle of leaves, the soft chirping of birds, and the meandering walkways of a park.
This is precisely what I indulge in every weekend at Nielsen's Grove Park.
There's nothing like the sight of its lush greenery, sprawling lawns, and vibrant flower garden to refresh your soul.
A morning stroll around the reflecting pool and pond is a regular part of my routine.
The tranquil waters have a calming effect, which is only enhanced by the delightful sight of the wild ducks and geese frolicking.
I frequently take my kids along, who are fascinated by the playful wildlife.
However, we always adhere to the park's guidelines and refrain from feeding these creatures.
My kids never tire of the playground in the north end of the park.
With monkey bars, slides, and swings, it's a paradise for little ones.
They particularly adore the tall spiral slide, which is a favorite among the park's young visitors.
The park also has a dedicated area for Pokemon Go, which adds a hint of adventure to our visits.
Picnicking at Nielsen's Grove Park is another favorite family activity.
Whether it's under the pavilions in the north or the open picnic tables in the south, we enjoy our homemade sandwiches amidst the mesmerizing beauty of the park.
It also gives me the chance to indulge in hammocking, which is incredibly relaxing.
The park is also a popular spot for fitness enthusiasts.
The bike path and field offer a perfect setup for outdoor sports.
Even during the winter months, the paved paths are well-maintained and free from snow, making it ideal for evening walks.
Each visit to the park offers something new.
Be it the history that you can explore starting from the south end of the large swing up west, there's always something to look forward to.
Tucked away and shaded by tall trees, it's a haven in the heart of the city.
Catch Stellar Performances at SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre

Oh boy, the magic that happens at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre, hidden away just off State Street in Orem, is something you've got to experience yourself.
It's like stumbling upon your own secret garden, a place where films and live theatre come alive under the open sky.
Every seat is a perfect view, it's almost as if the entire place was designed with your comfort in mind.
I remember the time I watched the Johnson Files and Jake Van Wagoner perform here.
The show was nothing short of a spectacle, and the ambiance amplified the experience.
The SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre is not just a venue, it's an emotion that transports you to a different world.
Oh, and the best part?
You can bring your own food!
There's something about munching on your favorite snacks while watching a good show that amplifies the experience.
But do keep in mind, that SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre is built on a slope, and the seating comprises plastic chairs, which can get a little uncomfortable.
Don't worry, though, there's always an option to choose blanket seating.
The theatre is very particular about maintaining the sanctity of the performances.
So, remember, no photos or recordings during the show, and no umbrellas can be open, even if it rains.
Yes, the show goes on even in the rain!
You'll find an employee making rounds to ensure these rules are followed, so it's better to go prepared.
Honestly, every time I visit, I find myself wondering why I don't frequent the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre more often.
Each visit is a delightful experience, with good entertainment, great snacks, and an ambiance that's just too good to pass up.
It's a complete package of joy, laughter, and fun under the stars!
Walk through Provo River Parkway
There's something almost magical about the Provo River Parkway in the heart of the changing seasons.
The river carries a melody as it gushes past, an echo of the winter's snow that has been more than generous this year.
A walk along the parkway is a sensory delight, with the sounds of the river beat as your own personal soundtrack.
One can't help but marvel at the picturesque sights that Utah, in all its natural glory, has to offer.
With my dogs bounding around with excitement, we set off on the long trail that stretches along the parkway.
It's a common enough path for us locals, but this was our first time exploring this particular stretch.
The sound of the river washing over the rocks is both soothing and electrifying, a sound my dogs and I are particularly fond of.
However, keep in mind the currents can be quite strong, so it's best not to allow your pets to play in the water.
The trail took us through a part of town that I wasn't overly familiar with.
It had a bit of a rough edge to it, which did give me a bit of pause.
But given that it was daytime, I didn't feel too concerned for my safety.
Yet, it might be an area to avoid when trekking alone or after dark.
But let's not lose sight of the splendor that is the Provo River Parkway Trail.
The trail snakes alongside a serene riverbank lined with lush trees, creating an oasis in the midst of the bustling town.
It's a rare find, a tranquil sanctuary that sits just a stone's throw away from the urban hustle.
Let Your Kids Run Wild at the All-Together Playground
Who knew that a park could hold so much joy and history?
I've watched the All-Together Playground evolve from a mere construction site to the vibrant, bustling playground it is today.
It's been wonderful to witness the happiness it brings to the community, not just for the kids but for adults as well.
The playground is truly a marvel.
It's been designed with a unique approach, focusing on accessibility for all.
This egalitarian mindset fosters a sense of friendliness and cooperation among the children.
Even on my busiest days, it's always a joy to take my toddler here.
The diverse play structures keep both him and my older kids engaged and entertained for hours.
While the park has an undeniably appealing atmosphere, one can't help but notice the curious ground materials.
They're different, interesting, and pretty good for a park setting.
But, like an old grandpa, they smell a bit off at times, and I've noticed puddles accumulating in some spots.
A minor issue that could be improved in the future.
Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room - the bathrooms.
I'm not going to sugarcoat it, they're in a less-than-satisfactory condition.
It's not uncommon to find them not working or, even worse, leaking questionable fluids onto the floor.
The sink design also leaves much to be desired.
However, despite these minor setbacks, the All-Together Playground remains my family's favorite spot for an enjoyable day out.
We've spent countless hours here; my daughter particularly loves the zip line swing and the swings with locks.
The park's proximity to the library, shopping centers, and a variety of restaurants, like McDonald's, Panda Express, and Burger King, adds to its appeal.
Walk Your Dog at Mount Timpanogos Park
Walking through the trails of Mount Timpanogos Park feels like a breath of fresh air in a hectic life.
This park, nestled between two majestic canyons, offers a panoramic view of nature's splendor from every angle.
On a typical sunny day, you can find me meandering along the walking paths, each step leading me to a new secret of the park.
The terrain is diverse, showcasing different aspects of nature, each more beautiful than the last.
I often find myself captivated by the sheer contrast, from the open green spaces to the surrounding mountain peaks.
This park is a community hub, bustling with people enjoying their day.
Kids running around, people picnicking on the grass, and even the occasional group of grasshoppers make their presence known, adding a touch of nature's unpredictability.
Despite the crowd, there's a sense of tranquility that envelops the park, making it an ideal spot for relaxation.
Being a dog owner, one of the highlights of this park for me is the dog area.
Watching my pup run freely and make new friends is a joy; the dog park views are simply breathtaking.
Evenings are a special time at the park.
As the sun sets, Mount Timpanogos Park transforms into a serene landscape, perfect for an evening stroll or a late-night rendezvous with nature.
Some of my favorite memories are of midnight photo sessions capturing grasshoppers in their natural habitat.
Let's not forget the commendable work done by Utah's Parks and Recreation Department.
Their tireless efforts keep Mount Timpanogos Park well-maintained and welcoming for all.
Unearth the City's Rich History at the Orem Heritage Museum
Having lived in Orem for over seven years, I've always been curious about the rich history of my city, and I recently had the chance to delve deeper into it at the Orem Heritage Museum.
The museum, nestled in the heart of the city, offers a comprehensive journey through the major milestones that shaped Orem into the thriving city it is today.
Being an ardent fan of history, I found the museum's displays to be quite enlightening.
The artifacts and photographs neatly arranged in the display cases bore silent testimony to the city's vibrant past, telling tales of progress and prosperity.
At the museum, I was fortunate enough to cross paths with the guide, who, to my surprise, had a personal connection to a significant portion of the exhibits.
His storytelling prowess was fascinating as he narrated his family's war stories with a passion that nearly brought the tales to life.
He had an impressive collection of war gear on display, which added a personal touch to the museum tour.
The guide's propensity for sharing his stories was so infectious that he often ended up accompanying visitors around the exhibits.
Apart from the historical displays, my daughter took a particular liking to the train and the military room.
These sections were stimulating for her young mind and were definite highlights of our visit.
Clearly, the museum offers something for every age group, making it a citywide treasure.
Checking out the Orem Heritage Museum has been a rewarding journey of discovery for me.
Not only did I learn a lot about my city's history, but I also felt a deeper connection to it.
If you're interested in exploring Orem's past, I strongly recommend a visit to the Orem Heritage Museum.
Trust me, it's a small gem that's waiting to be discovered!
Play Ball at Lakeside Sports Park

My weekends are never quite complete without a trip to the Lakeside Sports Park.
Nestled amidst the tranquil heart of Orem, this park has become my personal haven, a place where the community comes together to enjoy some lovely outdoor sports.
The park's baseball fields are currently seeing some upgrades, and it's exciting to see the tangible improvements taking place.
The new fence around the playground is a much-needed addition, giving peace of mind to parents while their little ones play.
However, the walking path is a bit of a mixed bag.
On the one hand, it's a great place for a run with its lengthy stretch, but the divots do make it a challenging terrain for kids on their skateboards or scooters.
One of the significant features of Lakeside Sports Park is the soccer fields.
If you have children who play soccer - and I do - you'll end up spending a lot of time here.
The park also features a snack stand filled to the brim with high fructose corn syrup snacks.
One of the highlights of my recent visits was on 9/3/22, when I attended a cross-country race.
The sheer size of Lakeside Sports Park made it an ideal location for such an event.
I'm looking forward to seeing more such community events in the future, enhancing the vibrant, communal atmosphere of this park.
Marvel at the Olmsted Hydroelectric Plant
You wouldn't believe this, but the place where I take my morning jog is a historic site.
It's where the old Olmsted Hydroelectric Plant stands.
The plant has been part of our town's history for over a century.
I remember hearing from the older folks that in 1990, Rocky Mountain Power took over the plant.
It was a relic even then!
Picture this: an old industrial building with its massive turbines and old-world charm, like a set from a steampunk movie.
Fast forward to 2015, when the 25-year lease expired; the Central Utah Water Conservancy didn't just opt for a renovation.
They constructed a brand-new all-electric plant.
Although they don't allow photos in the new facility, they plan to convert the old plant into a museum.
And being a local, I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at it!
It's their way of preserving the town's rich history.
But the history of this place doesn't end with electricity.
The Olmsted Hydroelectric Plant is also the home of the first electrical engineer school for alternating current in the country.
And guess who built the generator in that old building?
None other than Nikola Tesla himself.
You can feel the electricity in the air when you stand there, knowing that one of the greatest minds in history once worked on the very spot.
And if you love a good scare as much as I do, you should know that several horror shows have been filmed here.
So next time you're around, are you brave enough to take a stroll with me past the old plant in the dark?
I promise it'll be electrifying!
Play with Your Kids at Westmore Park
A certain tranquility comes with living in a place for long.
You get to discover hidden spots that are not on the usual tourist radar.
One such place I've come to love is Westmore Park.
On a hot summer day, no other park in Orem seems to offer more shade.
Its location behind Westmore Elementary School makes it a perfect hideout for those seeking some peace.
Yes, the entrance is hard to find, and you might even miss it if you're not looking carefully.
But that’s what I find appealing about it.
It's a small path wedged between two houses, leading to a parking lot and playground hidden from plain sight.
The playground is something out of a child’s wildest dreams.
It’s the perfect place for kids to jump, swing, and slide to their heart’s content.
And as an adult, I find myself appreciating the park’s vast greenery and pavilions.
I often find myself doing a few laps on my bike when I need to stretch my legs a bit.
It’s not just about the physical activity, it’s about the serenity that the place offers.
If you're in the area, you should definitely give Westmore Park a visit.
Catch an Event at Scera Park
There's something truly magical about a day spent at Scera Park.
The first thing you notice is how impeccably clean it is.
The verdant grass seems to glow in the sunlight, and you can't help but admire the beauty of the landscape.
And then it hits you - there's so much to do here!
The park comes alive with the laughter of children playing on the two playgrounds.
It's spectacular to witness the pure joy on their faces as they climb, slide, and swing.
But the fun doesn't stop there.
The park boasts seasonal swimming pools, which are a delight on a hot summer's day.
You can also stroll along the walking path, taking in the serene surroundings, or enjoy a peaceful picnic under one of the pavilions.
One of my favorite aspects of Scera Park is its versatility.
You can host a family reunion or a large get-together at the spacious pavilion.
Also, don't miss out on the Frisby golf course - it's a hidden gem with many different holes and tricks to try out.
The park even provides poop bags, so you can bring along your furry friend for a day of fun.
Speaking of must-try experiences, the Scera outdoor theater is a real treat.
I still vividly remember attending the final performance of "Singing in the Rain."
The actors sang with such passion that I felt transported into the story.
Be warned, though, the chairs for rent can be a bit uncomfortable, so it might be a good idea to bring your own.
And don't forget your bug spray, the mosquitos can get a bit too friendly!
In July, Scera Park turns into a hotspot for festivities, with volunteers putting on an amazing festival.
Known as the Colonial Days, this summer festival is definitely worth a visit.
Unearth Hidden Gems at the UVU Museum of Art
Ever since the UVU Museum of Art at Lakemount sprang to life amidst the beautiful estate, I've been itching to wander around its quaint surrounds and dive into its eclectic collection.
Finally, having the opportunity to do so, I was welcomed by an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff who seemed to share the same passion for art that I do.
The museum may be small, but it is a treasure trove of photographs, fine art, and sculptures that kept me engaged for hours.
The compact rooms only added to the enchanting atmosphere, giving the place a cozy feel that complimented the grandeur of the estate.
I was lucky enough to visit during an art project in the pool house, which was an absolute blast.
The highlight of my experience, however, was the museum's exhibitions.
The thoughtfully curated exhibits were like hidden gems, each piece telling its own fascinating story.
I also absolutely loved the gardens.
They were a testament to the museum's commitment to maintaining the aesthetic beauty of the estate and gave the place an exceptional charm.
Walking around, I found myself wondering what the place would have been like in its past life.
Trying to imagine the life of the crazy rich people who once inhabited the estate added an element of intrigue to my visit.
I couldn't help but yearn to know what was behind the locked doors and roped-off areas.
Leaving the museum that day, I was not only laden with notebooks and stickers but also a head full of inspiration.
And while I left a piece of my heart behind at the UVU Museum of Art at Lakemount, I know I'll be back soon to reclaim it and to discover the new exhibitions that will undoubtedly continue to captivate my art-loving heart.
Cool Down at Scera Park Pool

Oh, how I adore the blissful refuge that Scera Park Pool offers on sizzling summer days.
As soon as the mercury starts rising, my kids and I make a beeline for this local haven, leaving our worries at the doorstep.
There's nothing quite like the thrill of sliding into the expansive kiddie pool, which is more than accommodating for us adults, too!
The warmth of the water is a delightful contrast to the blistering heat, making it the perfect place to cool off.
Now, if you're a bit of an adrenaline junkie like me, the slides are your ultimate destination.
One is ideal for those tender moments with the little ones sitting on your lap as you both descend into a world of fun.
The other - well, it's a spectacle in itself.
It's a straight shot down, then a slope into the pool that sends you skimming across the water surface, drawing cheers from spectators keen to see who can make the biggest splash.

I've yet to muster the courage to attempt it, but I hear it promises a unique thrill.
But don't think Scera Park Pool is all about the kids and adrenaline rushes.
It's also a superb location for some leisurely swimming in the sizeable 'lane' pool.
What's more, you're actually allowed to bring your own floaties!
It's a joy to see families floating around on colorful inflatables, creating a vibrant atmosphere that's hard to resist.
When the hunger pangs kick in - and trust me, they will - you'll be spoiled for choice with the array of snacks available.
From cream cheese pretzels to hot dogs and even snow cones, there's something to satisfy every craving.

Have a Family Day at Nickel City
If you're ever looking for a place to relive the nostalgia of your childhood while also having a blast with your friends and family, you have to check out Nickel City.
It's like walking into a time machine and being transported back to the 1980s, where you can challenge your friends to a variety of carnival games or a thrilling game of laser tag.
I remember hosting my son's birthday party here.
The laughter and excitement in the air was infectious.
The kids simply had an unforgettable time, especially with the laser tag.
Not to mention, the staff at Nickel City took such great care of us.
They checked on us multiple times, ensuring everything was running smoothly and our needs were met.
But the fun doesn't stop at the games.
Nickel City also has an in-house pizzeria, and let me tell you, the pizza is to die for!
My partner even claimed it was the best arcade pizza he’s ever had!
So, if you're ever hungry after a round of games, you know where to go.
Nickel City isn't just for kids, though.
I have found myself visiting on a random weekday when the kids were at school, and I had some time off.
It's a great place to simply chill, play some games, and enjoy some good food.
I can't recommend Nickel City enough.
It's a trip down memory lane, a hub of fun activities, and a real gem in our local area!
Have a Staycation at Provo Beach Resort
I've been known to spend a lot of time at Provo Beach.
It has a little bit of everything for everyone.
The arcade is absolutely electrifying, with its multitude of games that cater to all age groups.
Although their ticket redeeming station does need an upgrade, the experience of hoarding tickets after an exciting game session is thrilling nonetheless.
Their bowling alley is something that's always drawn me in.
The atmosphere is lively, and the energy of the people around you is infectious.
There's a sense of camaraderie that builds up during these games, making it an enjoyable experience for all.
It's quite disappointing, though, to see the number of games included in the package reduce over time.
I remember spending long hours here playing to my heart's content, but now, the increased prices and limited games have somewhat dampened that joy.
The laser tag at Provo Beach is a whole different experience.
It's perhaps one of my favorite activities.
The adrenaline rush, the strategy, the team spirit - it's all a fabulous package that's hard to resist.
As a parent, I've also hosted my son's birthday party here.
Have a Family Day Out Hang Time Adventure Park
Living in the neighborhood, I often find myself spending weekends at Hang Time Adventure Park
While there are a myriad of trampoline places in the area, Hang Time Adventure Park stands out with its combination of trampolining and climbing activities.
The thrill of bouncing up high on those trampolines is only made better by the added challenge of the climbing wall.
That said, it can get a bit crowded on Saturdays, which can be a bit of a mood dampener.
The trampoline area is usually bustling with activity, and it's a sight to behold, especially when they have the trapeze set up, though, during my last visit, the hook was missing.
They assured me that they had ordered a replacement, so I'm looking forward to experiencing some high-flying antics on my next visit.
Although I was a little disappointed to see the Nerf war zone still out of action, I remain hopeful it will be back soon, adding another fun element to the park.
Hang Time Adventure Park is a place where you can let loose and have fun, flipping and jumping around to your heart's content.
With separate areas for younger children to keep them safe from the older ones, it's a great spot for a family outing.
Tee Off at Scratch Mini Golf
Rarely does a day pass by without me making a visit to Scratch Mini Golf, formerly known as Cascade Mini Golf.
It’s become more than just a recreational spot, it's a part of my lifestyle.
As a parent, I can attest to the delightful time my kids have every time we visit, especially my 8-year-old, who surprised us all with a hole-in-one on a tough course!
The way the sun glimmers on the water features on the front 18 is truly a sight to behold.
Playing through these courses feels as though you're stepping into a fun, enchanting world.
Not to mention the back 18!
These courses are a tad more challenging, but the canopy of trees provides a refreshing shade that's much appreciated during those scorching Utah summers.
Another highlight of this place is the accessibility.
Whether you come around at the break of dawn or under the starlit sky, there will always be people enjoying a round or two of miniature golf.
The management has done an exceptional job of maintaining the course and the equipment.
As for the rates, they are very reasonable.
$10 for an adult and $6 for a child above the age of 3.
This price includes access to both the 18-hole courses!
But what's a fun day out without some snacks, right?
Scratch Mini Golf got that covered, too!
Their shaved ice is a hit, cooling down golfers and adding an extra sprinkle of joy to the overall experience.
Other Things to Do Nearby
Catch Sunset at Provo Canyon

Ah, Provo Canyon, my home sweet home.
It's no exaggeration to say that this is one of the most spectacular places in the world.
The way the sun hits the canyon walls during sunset, illuminating the waterfall with its warm hues, is truly a sight to see.
And when winter comes, the snow-capped landscape transforms into a winter wonderland, becoming a go-to destination for skiers and snowboarders alike.
The entrance to the scenic Provo Canyon is also where the Alpine Loop begins, an adventure in itself.
Whether you're walking, biking, or simply driving, there's always something fun to do here.
The picturesque views are a bonus that's hard to top.

What I love most about Provo Canyon are the parks, over a dozen of them, each with its unique charm.
Whether it be fishing at the Provo River, exploring the well-kept trails, or marveling at the breathtaking beauty around every corner, there's never a dull moment here.
Just be sure to bring your camera because the photo opportunities are endless.
Provo Canyon also boasts other attractions like Midway at one end and Orem and Provo at the other.
And for those who crave off-road adventures, try the Squaw Peak road.
It's an adrenaline-pumping experience that will leave you wanting for more.

Feel the Adrenaline Rush at the Wavepool of Seven Peaks Water Park Provo
Picture this: The sun is shining bright, and the sky is as clear as it can be.
This is the perfect day to head over to the Seven Peaks Water Park Provo, an absolute gem in our town.
Stretched over 26 acres, this water park is the epitome of fun and excitement.
As soon as you step in, you are greeted by winding waterslides that promise a thrilling journey.
If that's not for you, there's always the wave pool for a more relaxing time.
There's also a lazy river for those who prefer to take it slow, with the cool water gently swirling around you.
The place offers cabanas for the days when the sun is too much to handle, providing a perfect spot to rest and cool off.
Seven Peaks Water Park Provo does have some rules though - they don't allow outside food.
It's no big deal since they have food vendors inside, although the prices might seem a bit steep.
But hey, a day full of fun and laughter should not be overshadowed by a small hiccup like this.
And besides, you can always bring your own drinks, as far as I know.
Parking is not an issue here.
There is ample space outside, and the lines to get in aren't too bad.
I've spent some amazing days here with my family.
The kids love the Avalanche slide, and I have to admit, I have a soft spot for the wave pool myself.
Nothing beats the sound of laughter and the sight of pure joy on everyone's faces.
Experience the Spook at Evermore Park
WWherever I go in the world, no other place can replace the charm of my hometown, especially when it offers magical experiences.
One such charm is Evermore Park, a fantasy world nestled right here.
From the moment I set foot inside, I was transported to a medieval era, brimming with costumed actors and ancient buildings that breathe life into bygone times.
I remember visiting the park for the overnight Ghost tour.
The unfinished buildings, rather than being an eyesore, added a rustic charm and enhanced the overall ambiance.
Evermore Park also offers a Combo Pass, and trust me, it's worth every penny!
The thrill of petting dragons, embarking on different missions, and shopping for fabulous wares never seems to fade.
And let's not forget the mouthwatering burgers and fries, they're just the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience.
One of the best aspects of this park is the sheer authenticity and immersive experience it offers.
You truly get what you give at Evermore.
I remember spending a day there with a positive attitude and an intent to have fun.
I was rewarded with a day full of fantastic interactions with unforgettable characters and exotic animals.
I sang sea shanties with pirates, marveled at a live circus, and even saw a living dragon!
I was also given the opportunity to help some town's people with their troubles.
It's not every day you get to play the hero in a medieval fantasy world.
I can't wait to get my annual passes for the next year and experience the upcoming event, Lore, this fall.
Evermore Park truly is a gem, and I'm lucky to have it so close to home.
It's not just a park, it's a portal to another world, and I can't wait to embark on my next adventure.
Discover Prehistoric Wonders at the BYU Museum of Paleontology

Ever since I moved here, the BYU Museum of Paleontology has been one of my absolute favorite spots to visit in the city.
Tucked away in a seemingly large building, the museum boasts an impressive collection of rock and dinosaur fossils.
This isn't your typical museum, each fossil on display is a story from our prehistoric past, a journey back in time to when these magnificent creatures roamed the earth.
What sets this place apart is its focus on fossils and ancient life found specifically in North America, many of which are from our very own Utah.
It's quite something to walk amongst the exhibits and think about the incredible dinosaurs that once lived where we live today.
Although BYU Museum of Paleontology is on the smaller side, don’t be fooled by its size.
Each exhibit is meticulously curated, giving you a fascinating insight into the world of paleontology.
Plus, it's not just a museum, but an active research lab as well.

One of the highlights of my visits has always been the large glass window, offering a sneak peek into the workshop where scientists work their magic.
If you're bringing little ones along, they might be a bit disappointed by the lack of hands-on exhibits.
But fret not, the museum has a few replicas that the kids are free to touch, and they are absolutely thrilled by the full skeleton replicas.
On more than one occasion, my little nephew couldn't resist posing for pictures with these towering structures.
The staff here are friendly and well-informed.
I recall an enlightening conversation with one of the paleontologists who was kind enough to share a bit about his work and the fascinating world of dinosaurs.
The BYU Museum of Paleontology is a hidden gem that offers a unique and educational experience for all ages.
Whether you're a history buff, a dinosaur enthusiast, or just looking for a fun and different way to spend your day, this museum is worth the visit!

Embark on a Remarkable Journey through the Museum of Mormon Mexican History
Let me share with you one of the hidden gems in our community.
My weekend wanderings recently led me to the Museum of Mormon Mexican History.
I have to admit, I didn't have high expectations as I stepped through the museum's doors, but I was in for a delightful surprise.
The moment I walked in, I was struck by the incredible animatronics and life-like “wax” figures.
I felt as if I had been transported back in time, witnessing significant moments in the history of the Mormon Church’s journey through Mexico.
The technology used for these exhibits is truly next level, resembling more of a high-tech theater than a regular museum.
The tour guides are warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable.
They certainly have a way of bringing the story alive, sparking a sense of intrigue and mystery as we walked from one exhibit to the next.
They offered free brochures, which serve as excellent guide maps and are filled with fascinating details about the exhibits.
One standout exhibit was a tiny representation of Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon Church.
The level of detail was astonishing, each crease, each line on his face remarkably mimicking the real person.
Walking through the museum, I felt deeply moved, inspired, and educated about the early pioneers' sacrifices and the church’s establishment in Mexico.
The Museum of Mormon Mexican History is an enlightening place to spend a leisurely afternoon.
While they accept donations, there is no formal charge, making it a beautiful gift to the community.
Whether you are interested in religious history, or Mexican history, or simply love to explore and learn, I encourage you to visit.
It's not just a museum; it's a journey that will leave you with a greater appreciation of our collective past.
