Have kids and a ton of stuff to carry? Don't worry, your car can be your base camp right on the sand.

The Beach Plum Island Nature Preserve isn't your typical crowded beach park.

It's wonderfully quiet, making it the perfect place for a peaceful day out.

No loud music, no bustling crowds, just the gentle lapping of the waves and the occasional call of a gull.

Just a heads up though, there's no parking at the entrance, and you'll need a DE surf pass and reservations to drive on the beach. But trust me, it's well worth it.
