Explore Site Six Launch Ramp

Last weekend, I decided to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and visit the Site Six Launch Ramp.

I've always found the lure of the water irresistible and was excited to experience everything the spot offered.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived was the well-equipped fishing pier.

Armed with my trusty fishing rod, I headed towards the pier and was pleasantly surprised at the abundance of space available.

The pier also had a fish-cleaning station, which I found to be a convenient and thoughtful feature, making the whole fishing experience more enjoyable.

As the afternoon turned into evening and my fishing expedition came to a satisfying close, I took advantage of the boat launching facilities.

Although I'm not an expert at boat launching, I found the process smooth and hassle-free thanks to the ample room and well-designed ramp.

Not wanting to miss out on any aspect of Site Six, I went to the small beach next to the launch ramp.

Despite its rocky nature, it provided a peaceful spot to relax and soak in the serene beauty of the place.

The on-site BBQs and picnic area proved perfect for an impromptu dinner under the stars.

My day at Site Six Launch Ramp was filled with fun and relaxation.

One of the best things about this safari is that it's not just about the thrill of speed.

It's about exploring hidden corners, cruising into sunlit coves, and discovering fascinating facts about the local geography and history.

One trip even took us past a local shipwreck, and our guide was happy to share its story.

On another outing, we headed into the wilder areas, where we had the chance to spot wild donkeys and sheep.

They provide an audio setup to ensure everyone on the tour can hear their fascinating stories and instructions.

Being a part of this safari is like discovering a new side to my backyard.

Skate and Fish at Tinnell Memorial Skatepark

I love heading to Tinnell Memorial Skatepark. It's my quiet slice of paradise amidst the hustle and bustle of Lake Havasu.

It's a place to get your feet wet and find your balance.

Whether you're a seasoned skater or not, the park is structured to accommodate all skill levels.

Now, if you're not into skating, the park offers more than the adrenaline rush of the ramps.

What I love most about it is the laid-back and relaxing ambiance.

It offers stunning views of a lighthouse replica, palm trees, mountains, and a beautiful lake.

All these are just a short walk away, making it the perfect spot to unwind.

But the real treat for me is the fishing spot.

Tinnell Memorial Skatepark is my go-to place for fishing and has witnessed my two personal best catches.

There is something about the calm waters that makes it an absolute delight for fishing enthusiasts like myself.

So whether you are into skating, fishing, or just enjoying the scenic beauty, the skate park is the place to be.

With family get-togethers or solo trips, it's always an enjoyable time out here.

So, come and experience the magic of Tinnell Memorial Skatepark yourself.

Make a Splash at Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center

Last weekend, I decided to escape the heat and headed down to the Lake Havasu City Aquatic Center.

As I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with laughter echoing off the cool tile floors.

The indoor pools were filled with families, each seemingly having the time of their lives.

I watched children giggling and playing in the shallow end, their parents watching them with smiles.

Every corner of the center was buzzing with activity.

The water slide was a big hit, with excited children waiting their turn.

I ventured outside to the splash park, immediately taken by its charm.

The whole space was alive with the sound of water and the joyous screams of kids running around, making the most of the Arizona sun.

It was a thrilling sight to behold.

I also attended a family reunion there, and despite having a large family, we managed to work around the kitchen facilities.

It was a bit of a squeeze, but it was all part of the fun.

The center also hosts birthday parties; I could see why it would be a perfect venue.

The friendly, family-oriented atmosphere is ideal for any celebration.

Enjoy a Regular Day at the Historical London Bridge

Pamela Au / Shutterstock.com

Every morning, as the sun paints the sky with orange and pink hues, I stroll along the iconic London Bridge.

You might be thinking, 'London Bridge? Isn't that in England?'

It's a common misconception.

In the 1970s, the former London Bridge was painstakingly dismantled and transported across the globe to be rebuilt in the heart of Lake Havasu City.

As my feet pad softly over the well-maintained bridge, I can't help but imagine the history etched into every stone, from the era of King Henry VIII to its modern-day incarnation.

I stop midway, leaning on the railings to enjoy the panoramic view of the city surrounded by the azure lake.

It's hard to beat this view, especially when the city is bathed in the warm morning light.

Going under the bridge is another experience altogether.

It's where the city thrives with a bustling marketplace that's a blend of old and new.

I love meandering through the quaint shops, picking souvenirs, and greeting the friendly shop owners.

And, of course, no visit to the London Bridge is complete without a stop at "Burgers By The Bridge."

The name might not be very imaginative, but the food is divine.

Whenever I have guests over, I make sure we grab lunch there.

The fish and chips are arguably the best in town, and the sight of other mouth-watering dishes gliding by never fails to tantalize my taste buds.

It's a bridge, a slice of history, and an integral part of our city.

Whether it's the scenic beauty, the shops, or the food, the London Bridge offers a unique and unforgettable experience.

For me, it's just home.

But for visitors, it's a story of a bridge that once stood in the heart of London and now proudly spans an Arizonian lake.

Take a Deep Dive into History at Lake Havasu Museum of History & Havasu Rocks

You wouldn't believe the hidden gems you can find in your backyard.

A perfect Saturday for me starts with a visit to the Lake Havasu Museum of History & Havasu Rocks, a humble little place big on charm and local lore.

The museum is a treasure trove of local history.

With exhibits on everything from steamboats to mining, there's always something new to learn.

You can immerse yourself in the stories of how Lake Havasu became today's thriving community.

One of the most memorable displays for us was the collection of fossilized dinosaur poop!

It's not something you come across every day, and it's a testament to the museum's dedication to showcasing the unique and the unusual.

Whether you're a history buff, a rock hound, or just someone looking for a pleasant afternoon, the Lake Havasu Museum of History & Havasu Rocks is a local gem worth exploring.

You may even walk away with a beautiful treasure or two.

Go Fishing at Mesquite Bay

Hook, line, and sinker - that's how I'd describe my fishing experiences at Mesquite Bay.

Navigating the trail to the pier can be a bit of a hike, so I've learned to travel lightly.

The last time I loaded up all my fishing gear and a cooler, I wished I'd brought a wagon.

Meanwhile, the bay has a clean, well-maintained trail and pier, making the trek out there worth it.

The tranquility is apparent as there are no motorized crafts around the pier.

Just the surrounding calmness of nature and my fishing rod.

It's a peaceful way to spend an afternoon or a quiet morning, sitting at the pier's edge, casting out, and waiting for the bite.

I've learned over time to be mindful of the lures I use.

The bay is a haven for decent-sized bluegills.

With patience and the right bait, you'll have a good catch in no time.

Mesquite Bay is a fantastic spot for a local fishing enthusiast like myself.

It offers a serene and rewarding fishing experience if you're prepared.

And remember, the early bird catches the worm - or, in this case, the bluegill!

Enjoy the Day at Havasu Riviera State Park

It's a beautiful sunny morning, perfect for a day at Havasu Riviera State Park.

Walking along the marina, I'm always amazed by its neat layout, teeming with numerous boat slips available for rent.

I also can't help but admire the efficiency of the multiple gas pumps and the convenience of the six-vehicle launch ramp.

The marina store, a gem tucked at one corner, always impresses me.

It's a one-stop shop for all your needs and has become a local favorite.

I then make my way to the shoreline, which is always quiet and relaxing.

As I dip my toes into the cool water, the serenity of the place takes over, and I can't help but feel at peace.

As the day continues, I find myself at one of the many picnic benches, settling in to watch a beautiful Arizona sunset.

Around this time, the park becomes a haven for blackbirds.

Watching them dive and swoop among the tall grasses is a spectacle, their melodies providing the perfect soundtrack to the evening.

The state park always surprises first-time visitors with its amenities.

I am particularly fond of the gazebos that dot the landscape and the small dock that juts into the lake.

This mix of artificial and natural beauty makes Havasu Riviera State Park a real gem in Lake Havasu City.

Spend the Day at London Bridge Beach

I can't help but marvel at the serenity of London Bridge Beach as I bask in the early morning sun.

The beach is my go-to place for relaxation.

On Tuesday mornings, it's as if the beach is my private sanctuary, sparsely populated and brimming with tranquility.

The hushed murmurs of locals, who frequent the place on weekends and holidays, are a testament to its popularity.

As I tread along the sidewalk, I admire the neatly arranged picnic and BBQ spaces, inviting for a family outing.

The free beach and parking are an added luxury in today's expensive world.

Likewise, seeing dogs frolicking in the dog park never fails to make me smile.

Although I don't own a dog, watching them play is a joy.

The extensive grassy area in the middle of the park is perfect for picnics or playing catch.

As the sun blazes at 113 degrees, the shaded playground and covered picnic tables offer a much-needed respite.

I take solace in the cool shade, relishing my solitude.

The highlight of the beach, though, is the short walk to the iconic London Bridge.

Its historic presence adds a touch of nostalgia to the modern cityscape.

The beach, however, isn't just sand and sea.

It's a place to watch boats parade and engage in rock-collecting.

Although the initial few steps into the water may be rocky, it gives way to a sandy bottom as you venture further.

The clear water makes it a perfect spot for a refreshing swim.

London Bridge Beach is more than a park - it's a community space that embodies the spirit of Lake Havasu.

Spike the Ball at Rotary Park's Sand Volleyball Courts

There's nothing quite like an adrenaline-packed game of beach volleyball at Rotary Park.

I've made some fantastic memories here, diving in the sand to make a save and feeling triumph as I slam the ball onto the opponent's court.

With three courts available, it's a local hotspot for volleyball players of all skill levels.

The park is located at Rotary Community Park.

It has attracted me and my friends on countless occasions.

A sprawling beachfront area, a perfect backdrop for our games, surrounds the courts.

After the match, we often cool down by dipping in the designated swimming areas, which feels like a reward after the game's hard-fought victory.

But the fun doesn't end there, as Rotary Park has much more to offer.

I have fallen in love with the many playgrounds scattered across the park, with different sections for kids of different ages.

My little ones thoroughly enjoy their time on the swings and slides while I can sit back on a nearby bench and watch them play.

And the best part? Most of these areas are covered, providing much-needed sun protection.

Apart from being a sports lover's paradise, Rotary Park is also a hub for community gatherings.

I have attended numerous picnics, barbecues, and family events at the covered picnic tables that line the beach.

These shaded spots provide the perfect ambiance for a relaxing day out.

And let's not forget about the restroom facilities and parking areas conveniently located close to the beach.

These amenities enhance the overall experience and encourage locals to return for more.

So, whether it's for a game of volleyball or a family day out, Rotary Park is a place that captures the essence of our local community.

I wholeheartedly recommend all locals and visitors to check out this gem in our city, and who knows?

Cruise along the Serene Lake Havasu with Sunset Charter & Tour Co.

I was looking for ways to beat the heat on a scorching summer day when a friend suggested I try a Lake Havasu cruise.

I'd had my fair share of tours in the area, but I'd never ventured out on the water.

Intrigued, I decided to check out Sunset Charter & Tour Co. and trust me, I wasn't disappointed!

The moment I set foot at the Dock House, conveniently located beside the iconic London Bridge, I knew this would be a unique experience.

The hustle and bustle at the dock were infectious, and it was evident that I wasn't the only one who had the idea of cooling down on the lake.

Families, couples, and solo travelers were set to embark on this aquatic adventure.

The company offers two vessels, one fully wheelchair accessible, making it a truly inclusive experience.

I embarked on the mid-afternoon cruise to Copper Canyon on their huge pontoon-style boat.

Though the vessel was packed, it certainly didn't lack amenities.

There were life jackets and bottled water for all passengers, and the boat was covered, shielding us from the sun's harsh rays.

I learned much about the lake, its history, and its surrounding area.

But of course, the show's true stars were the breathtaking views.

The vast expanse of water, the verdant cliffs of Copper Canyon, and the stunning sunset made for a truly memorable experience.

In particular, the sight of the sun dipping below the horizon, casting an orange glow over the lake, left an indelible mark on my heart.

I've always been a fan of Sunset Charter & Tour Co.'s land tours, and their lake cruises didn't disappoint either.

Their services are worth every penny, and the knowledge I gained made the cruise even more rewarding.

Whether the lighthouse tour or the sunset cruise, every service offered is a thrilling adventure.

If you're in the area and looking for a great way to spend the day, Sunset Charter & Tour Co. is the way to go!

Have you ever seen the sun set over clear, sparkling water while your lungs fill with refreshing, clean air?

That's just an everyday scene at the Rotary Community Park & Playgrounds.

As someone who spends most of my weekends here, I can vouch for this place being an absolute paradise.

The stunningly clear lake is the first thing you notice when you walk into Rotary Community Park.

I've dipped my toes in it countless times, and each time is as refreshing as the first.

It's like washing away the stress of the week.

The kids love it, too - there's a designated swimming area that's clean and safe.

And then there are the three playgrounds.

Each one was filled with laughter and the innocent joy of children.

They are so well-maintained you'd think they were brand new.

The skate park is a hub of youthful energy, the perfect spot for teenagers to hang out on weekends.

Sports lovers are not left out, either.

There's a volleyball court, always ready for a friendly match.

And if you're not much of a sports person, there's ample green space to lay down a picnic blanket, set up a small barbecue, or relax under the shade of the trees.

But what makes this place magic is the sunset.

There's nothing like watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky with red, orange, and pink hues.

It's a sight to behold, something that no movie can truly capture.

The Rotary Community Park & Playgrounds is a slice of paradise in the city's heart.

And as someone who comes here often, I can tell you it's a place you'll fall in love with, just like I have.

Enjoy a Night of Thrills at Havasu 95 Speedway

You know you're in for a treat when the roar of the engines reverberates in your chest.

That's usually my cue to grab my favorite lawn chair and snacks and head down to the Havasu 95 Speedway.

It's an adrenaline-filled party where everybody is welcome.

One of the nights I enjoyed the most was when they hosted a variety of races; there were sprint car races, some involving kids, which was quite a sight.

The sheer dedication and competitive spirit of those young racers were infectious.

And the food! I ate some loaded fries that were nothing short of delicious.

The food is always well-priced and tasty, the perfect accompaniment to an exciting race.

One of the things that sets Havasu Speedway apart is its wholesome, family-friendly atmosphere.

It's not just about the races but also the camaraderie and the shared love for the sport.

No wonder it's a perennial favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Whether it's a Saturday night or any night they are hosting a race, Havasu 95 Speedway always guarantees a thrilling and fun-filled time.

I can't wait for the season's last race this coming weekend; it's bound to be a blast.

Unleash Fun at Lions Dog Park

When it comes to giving our four-legged friends a grand old time, nothing beats a day out at Lions Dog Park.

This enormous dog haven, situated right by the refreshing Lake Havasu, is no ordinary stroll in the park.

Picture a jubilant fountain right in the park where dogs can run amok, chasing water droplets and shaking off the excess with pure joy painted on their faces.

But it doesn't stop there.

The park provides swimming pools in the scorching summer months - a lifesaver when the temperatures are soaring.

What I particularly love about Lions Dog Park is the sense of community.

It's also a space for dogs but for dog lovers to congregate, trade stories, and revel in the camaraderie that only fellow pet owners can understand.

And despite being one of the busiest days in Havasu, the park always accommodates everyone - there's always a parking spot nearby.

The park is also committed to keeping the place clean and tidy.

Water dishes are provided, so you don't have to lug around heavy bottles.

However, they request that we play our part, too - cleaning up after pets ensures the park remains a clean and healthy environment.

If you're ever in the area and looking for a fun spot for your pet, check out the Lions Dog Park. It’s a canine paradise!

Experience the Wonders of Lake Havasu State Park

If you're looking to experience the beauty of Arizona, there's no place quite like Lake Havasu State Park.

It's home to perhaps one of the most fascinating pieces of architectural history - the original London Bridge.

I can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia every time I walk across it, imagining the countless people who must have walked the same path when it was still situated across the River Thames.

The park offers a multitude of options for nature enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike.

I've found solace on the lake beaches, where the gentle lapping of waves and the azure beauty of the water serve as a balm to the mundane hustle of daily life.

The park also offers well-maintained campsites for those who enjoy bonding with nature.

I've spent many nights under the starlit sky at my favorite spot, lot 36, which is right on the beach and gives a breathtaking lake view.

For those who enjoy a more adventurous outing, the park offers well-marked trails perfect for an invigorating hike or a leisurely walk.

You'll often find me hiking these trails on weekends, absorbing the serenity of the surroundings.

And, of course, the park's garden is teeming with wildlife.

The sight of the local fauna in their natural habitat never ceases to amaze me.

It's a delightful experience, whether you're a wildlife lover or just a curious visitor.

The park also offers clean bathrooms, showers, water/electric hookups, and cute little cabins for rent.

Whether you are looking for an adventurous outing, a peaceful retreat, or a brush with history, Lake Havasu State Park is the perfect spot.

Have you ever been to a place where every day feels like a new adventure?

That's precisely what SARA Park in Lake Havasu City is to me.

Nestled on the city's outer edges, this park is a local favorite and a hidden gem for visitors.

Every morning, I lace up my hiking boots and hit the trails of this beautiful park.

Within an hour of steady walking, I find myself at the edge of the majestic Colorado River.

The path meanders through an intriguing feature, the Crack, which always adds an extra dash of excitement to the journey.

On the weekends, when the sun is high in the sky, we often head to the baseball fields and cages found at the park's center.

The sound of a baseball smacking into a glove and the sight of children laughing and running around, combined with the backdrop of the stunningly rugged landscape, makes it feel like we're in a slice of paradise.

There's a particular trail, lovingly nicknamed Sara's Crack by locals, that offers a fun and challenging hike.

I remember this one day when the temperature was a cool 75 degrees.

It was the perfect day for a hike.

The trail was lonely, with a pretty good elevation change.

As we navigated the slot canyon, we marveled at the beauty surrounding us.

Seeing Lake Havasu's cove and balance rock at the trail's end was gratifying.

The five-mile loop took us through sand and loose gravel terrains, with our descent marked by a riverbed wash.

I always tell hikers to bring good shoes and plenty of water.

Whether you're a thrill-seeker, a nature lover, or just someone looking for a peaceful retreat, there's something for everyone at SARA Park.

I can't wait for my next day out at this fantastic spot.

Make Memories at Lake Havasu Golf Club

Whoever said, "Golf is a good walk spoiled," clearly hasn't experienced the Lake Havasu Golf Club, my regular spot to unwind and connect with nature.

This desert golfing haven, Lake Havasu Golf Club, is a treasure trove for golf enthusiasts like me, with its two distinct 18-hole courses.

Time stands still on the green expanse as you glimpse the shimmering lake.

The course, especially the greens, always remains in great shape, even in mid-December.

It may not be the longest, but the tight layout tests your precision.

The lack of fences and yardage markings can be challenging, but it adds to the game's allure.

One of my favorite weekend activities is playing in the Saturday morning disc golf league with the local Lake Havasu City Disc Golf Club.

The camaraderie among the players is uplifting, and the Discatcher 28 baskets have significantly enhanced the overall experience.

With its casual eatery, the clubhouse always hits the spot after a round of golf.

The breakfast, with breathtaking lake views, is one of my favorite ways to start the day.

Indeed, the Lake Havasu Golf Club is a community for making lifelong memories.

Final Thoughts

Lake Havasu City is nothing short of an outdoor enthusiast's paradise.

And in the summer, nothing beats a cool dip in Lake Havasu or the city's Aquatic Center.

Every day here offers a chance to create unforgettable memories.
