Jog at the Greeley Poudre River Trails

I laced up my running shoes and set off for a quick jog along the Poudre River Trails.

As I hit the 21-mile paved path, I was immediately engulfed by the serenity of the place.

As my feet pounded the pavement, I could hear the soft whispers of the wind rustling the leaves and the distant cawing of birds.

Oh, the birds! Geese, ducks, hawks, and other small birds, despite the coolness of winter, were there in abundance, adding life to the otherwise silent landscape.

The trail runs right next to the river, providing a soothing rhythm to my run.

I could see the river running along the edge of a gravel pit as I ran outside the park's boundaries.

It was a sight to behold! The views of the Colorado Rockies from the trail are just outstanding.

There's nothing quite like catching your breath while taking in the stunning mountain views after a good run.

I've been down Poudre River Trails on my bike, too. It is wide enough for cyclists, runners, and even rollerbladers.

The best part? It's hardly ever crowded, even on Sundays. You can peacefully enjoy your run, walk, or ride without worrying about bumping into others.

Solve Puzzles at HD Escape Rooms Greeley

My family's birthdays have become synonymous with a trip to HD Escape Rooms Greeley, and this time, it was my mother-in-law's turn.

We chose the 'Out of Time' room and what an exhilarating experience it was!

Our Game Master, Ches, led us through the whole event wonderfully, keeping the spirit of the game alive even while giving out hints.

Honestly, he's probably the best Game Master we've ever encountered in our escape room adventures.

One thing that struck me was that they didn't provide an option for taking notes, which would have been really useful.

A simple dry-erase board could do wonders for a team trying to solve the mystery.

But nevertheless, the experience was fantastic and we're eager to go back and experience the other two rooms.

Ches is truly a master at his craft and every hint he gives feels like its own miniature puzzle or riddle, adding so much more to the overall experience of the game.

It was my boyfriend's first time in an escape room and I'm glad we chose HD Escape Rooms Greeley for his initiation.

The experience was so great that we ended up doing another room on the same day, making it a night to remember for all of us.

Our last escape room, 'Curse of the Coven', was also an exciting journey.

The puzzles were challenging but not impossible.

We're definitely considering trying a different room the next time we're in the mood for a brain workout.

Immerse in the Craft Beer Culture at WeldWerks Brewing Co.

There's a little piece of paradise tucked away in Greeley, Colorado that's proved to be quite the hotspot - WeldWerks Brewing Co.

If you're ever in the city and looking for an excuse to visit, let the tantalizing taste of their craft beers be your guiding light.

Among the myriad of options, the green beers, specifically the Rocket’s Red Glare and Blue Iguana Imperial Sour, seem to be all the rage.

Not only are they delicious, but they also add a splash of color to your beer-drinking experience.

And while the brewery is indeed loved for its beers, a nod needs to be given to the culinary genius coming out of their kitchen.

Who would've guessed that nestled in this little brewery, you'd find a mouthwatering La Zi Ji?

Their rendition of this Sichuan popcorn chicken dish, paired with pickled carrots to balance the spice, is nothing short of a culinary revelation.

As for the ambiance, it's got that collective outdoor vibe under the canopies that invites good times and good conversations.

And for those who prefer the indoors, there's a cozy seating area as well.

Now, while I must confess I'm not the biggest fan of beers and usually opt for a seltzer, their Mexican Lager is a pleasant surprise.

Although they didn't have any seltzers the last time I visited, their strawberry daiquiri beer was a delightful compromise.

In fact, it was so good; I ended up bringing some home.

Being a frequent visitor, I've watched WeldWerks Brewing Co. grow and it never ceases to impress.

Especially if you're an IPA enthusiast like me, you'd agree that in Colorado, WeldWerks is virtually unparalleled.

Unleash Your Creativity at Showcase Art Center

Ever felt this need to escape into a world painted with colors of your imagination?

That's exactly the experience I get every time I step into the Showcase Art Center.

It's a cute, little art shop with an amazing array of art supplies and wonderful pieces by local artists that never fail to inspire me.

Walking into the shop always has a calming effect on me.

The atmosphere is just right to get those creative juices flowing.

I'm not the only one who feels this way about the place.

My good friend Robin, the best seamstress in the city, runs her business from here.

It's her go-to place and she can't stop raving about it.

This isn't just an art store.

It's a creative hub where artists share their workspaces, indulge in art classes, and generate artistic vibes.

Its owner is always up-to-date with the latest artistic trends, making sure the place is always buzzing with freshness.

I'm telling you, visiting Showcase Art Center is a far better choice than heading to any chain craft store.

You get to support local artists and you receive an experience that's more personal and enjoyable.

Bring Your Train Enthusiast to the Colorado Model Railroad Museum

Every time I walk into the Colorado Model Railroad Museum, I feel like I've stepped into a different world.

The massive layout takes my breath away, with its incredibly detailed scenery and realistic train operations.

I've spent countless hours here, and each visit feels like the first time - there's always something new to discover.

The museum is heaven for model railroading enthusiasts like me.

It's not just a display - it's an experience.

The level of detail in the miniatures is astounding, making you feel like you've shrunk down and stepped into a real-life I Spy book or a Where's Waldo adventure.

From the tiny trees to the perfectly painted buildings, every square inch is a work of art.

What's even more exciting is the scavenger hunt.

It's a thrilling game that engages you in a unique way, making you observe every detail more closely.

I've taken part in it several times, and it's always a blast!

Although I live nearby, I've brought friends and family who've visited me from out of town to this museum, and it never fails to impress.

They all agree that the drive is well worth it.

I consider myself lucky to have such a magnificent attraction right in my backyard.

No matter how many times I visit, the charm of the Colorado Model Railroad Museum never fades.

It's a magical, miniature world that I can't wait to explore again and again.

Stroll down Memory Lane at Centennial Village Museum

You know, just the other day, I decided to pay a visit to an 8-acre gem tucked away in our city - the Centennial Village Museum.

I've been living here for years, but each visit to this site makes me feel like I'm stepping back in time.

As I was wandering through the museum grounds, I spent about three hours fully immersed in the rich local history.

Every corner of the site is well-maintained, and the folks there are incredibly knowledgeable, always ready to share fascinating tales about the history of our area.

It's a place that I'd highly recommend for young ones – it's a hands-on history lesson where they can get a feel for what life was like back in the day.

One of my favorite parts about my recent visit to Centennial Village Museum was the chance to meet our local farm animals.

The kids love this interactive, educational element and it's always a joy to see their faces light up when they get to feed and interact with the animals.

Not every building in the museum was manned during my visit, but the ones that were, provided a delightful experience.

Although I missed out on the blacksmith demonstration this time around, I know it's worth the wait.

Maybe it's a weekend thing, I'll check next time.

The younger kids had a blast exploring the "old timey" things around.

Catch a Performance at Moxi Theater

There's no place quite like the Moxi Theater in Greeley.

Nestled right here in our city, this spot is a hidden gem.

It's small, intimate, and has a vibe that's as cool as they come.

Whether you're here for a gig or a gulp, you'll feel right at home.

I've seen some great talent and had some unique experiences here.

Every time I visit, I'm blown away by the quality of the sound.

It's always spot on.

And the drinks?

It is affordable and served by some of the city's friendliest bartenders.

They're always ready to pour, which is a big plus.

Plus, you can run a tab on your credit or debit card, which is super convenient.

One of the things I love most about the Moxi Theater is its setup.

It's designed to ensure that wherever you're standing, you have an unobstructed view of the stage.

So, no worries about missing any of the action.

If you need to take a break, there's a TV in the bar area, so you won't miss a beat of the concert.

Don't worry about cleanliness; the bathrooms are always spotless and well-stocked.

And here's a little insider tip - they even host weddings here!

The only bone I have to pick with them is about the opening bands.

Somehow, they manage to make them sound like trash with the electronics, but that's done to make the headliners stand out.

But hey, no place is perfect, right?

Take Photographs at Glenmere Park

I was out for my usual morning run when I found myself at the heart of Glenmere Park.

It's one of those spots in Greeley that truly embodies the beauty of our town.

The charm of this park lies in its tranquil beauty.

Nestled amidst the trees are two serene ponds reflecting the early morning sunlight.

The quaint gazebo near the lake is a perfect spot for a quiet moment - or even for romantic proposals.

I've also seen families and photographers making the most of the scenic backdrop for their photoshoots.

Paths wind through Glenmere Park, making it a popular spot for joggers and bikers.

The well-maintained playground is a magnet for kids, buzzing with their delightful laughter and playful screams.

On a sunny day, you'll see families spread across the green lawns, enjoying picnics under the clear blue sky.

Go Ice Skating at Greeley Ice Haus

The first time I stepped foot into the Greeley Ice Haus, I was instantly welcomed by friendly and helpful staff.

There's a certain charm about the place; the reception area, the upstairs party area, and, of course, the rink itself.

Everything is so well maintained and nice.

It was just like walking into a winter wonderland.

I remember when I took my little granddaughter, Lily, for her first ice skating lesson.

The moment her tiny feet touched the ice, there was a trained professional there to assist.

A young man named Jackson helped Lily's group.

Getting assistance from my granddaughter so attentively made me feel relief.

I could just sit back and enjoy watching her learn.

One of the best things about Greeley Ice Haus is the local youth hockey scene.

I have watched countless Greeley Bears Youth Hockey games there.

The atmosphere during these games is electrifying.

It's such a joy to see the local kids having fun and playing some great hockey.

While you're there, don't forget to grab a snack at the concession counter.

Nothing beats munching on some nachos while watching a riveting game of hockey.

Discover the City's History at Greeley History Museum

There's something truly magical about stepping into the Greeley History Museum.

Housed in the historic 1929 Greeley Tribune building, the museum is like a time capsule, transporting you back through Weld County's rich history.

My most recent visit was a delightful one.

I was drawn to the 'Habitat for Humanity' exhibit, a comprehensive and enlightening display that made me appreciate the roots and growth of our community.

The museum is packed with such intriguing exhibits, each telling a unique story and shedding light on different aspects of our region's past.

But the museum isn't just for history buffs like me.

It's a fantastic place for families, too, offering interactive exhibits that engage and educate young minds.

It's not every day you come across a place that manages to hold the attention of the little ones, and I was pleasantly surprised to see kids engrossed in the exhibits.

One exhibit I'm particularly eager to revisit is the "Bracero" display.

When I visited my daughter's school for a field trip, this exhibit struck me as something extraordinary.

It's a captivating narrative of migrant laborers that resonates deeply, and I can't wait to explore it further.

And did I mention the gift shop?

It's nestled within Greeley History Museum, offering a variety of memorabilia to take home as reminders of your visit.

Watch a Musical at Union Colony Civic Center

There's nothing quite like a night at the theatre, especially when the venue is our very own Union Colony Civic Center.

I recently had the pleasure of seeing 'Madagascar, The Musical' there.

The theatre itself is immaculate. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a pleasant and well-maintained lobby.

It might not look like much from the outside, but the theatre inside is surprisingly spacious and offers comfortable seating.

On this particular night, we found ourselves in row O, seats 21-24. Let me tell you, the view from here was nothing short of perfect!

What's more, the Union Colony Civic Center not only caters to adults but also to youngsters.

They offer free booster seats for young kids, ensuring they don't miss out on the spectacle.

And the parking situation was an unexpected delight. The open lot right at the theater made it so convenient.

But it's not all about the facilities. The staff there are superb.

They are always ready to assist you, and there's a good presence of security, which makes you feel safe. Plus, they serve some really good drinks!

One more thing that I must mention is the sound. It was just right, filling the room without being too loud or too soft.

In my opinion, the Union Colony Civic Center is a hidden gem in our city.

Walk Your Dog at Signature Bluffs Natural Area

Oh, the joy of discovering Greeley's biggest open secret - the Signature Bluffs Natural Area!

Tucked away at the edge of the city, it's a surprising patch of nature that never ceases to charm.

The area is home to a paved bike path and a pedestrian-only trail woven with gravel and wooden platforms.

You can't help but fall in love with the captivating wetlands, one of the best that our beautiful state of Colorado has to offer.

Every time I stroll through, the diversity of the wetlands amazes me - it's a refreshing sight to see the woodlands come back to life.

And it's not just for nature lovers!

My dog, Max, can't get enough of the place.

He enjoys the open space, the fresh air, and the vibrant environment.

It's a paradise for pets and their owners alike.

The natural area has a super cute open space that connects to the Poudre River trail.

The ease and calm nature of the trail make it a perfect spot for a family hike.

Just remember to keep your furry friends on a leash.

There's not a lot of consistent shade, so the best times to visit would be during spring, fall, and warm winter days.

Depending on the trail you choose, the distance is approximately two miles.

For my fellow photo enthusiasts, the Signature Bluffs Natural Area is a goldmine.

The picturesque views, the rich biodiversity, and the serene trails provide a fantastic backdrop for photos.

It's also an excellent trailhead for the Poudre Trail.

The tranquility and natural beauty of the place never disappoint.

Catch the Sunset at Bittersweet Park

There's something magical about the way the sun sets over Bittersweet Park, painting the sky in hues of gold, pink, and orange.

The beauty of the park is a sight to behold throughout the year.

I've spent many an hour sitting by the lake, watching the ripples dance on the water, or taking a leisurely walk along the marked trail that winds around it.

My dog loves accompanying me on these walks, his tail wagging happily as he explores the path, always on leash, of course.

One of the highlights of the park is the Veterans Memorial, a grand tribute to those who served.

I feel a sense of reverence wash over me each time I see it.

The park also hosts a great playground for kids, filled with enjoyable equipment.

I remember the joy in my children's eyes when they used to play on the merry-go-round and the slides.

For family gatherings, we often utilize the park's shelters.

They're equipped with fireplaces, making them perfect for late autumn or early spring outings when the air still carries a chill.

The park also has ample parking space, which is indeed a boon during such get-togethers.

Yes, the area has seen some changes over time.

I've noticed a slight increase in the number of homeless people using the park benches, but it's still a wonderful place to relax and recharge after a busy day.

And for an extra dash of nature, keep an eye out for the park's avian inhabitants, including red-winged blackbirds, geese, hawks, and an occasional big white bird with a yellow beak.

Have a Family Day at Sanborn Park

There's something quite alluring about spending a day at the park, especially one as expansive and beautiful as Sanborn Park.

The first thing that strikes you is the breathtaking views that provide a backdrop for all the activities the park has to offer.

My usual visit to the park starts with a walk through its winding paths.

The serene atmosphere and the chirping of the birds make it a nice escape.

The park is typically buzzing with people, some playing volleyball on the well-maintained court.

It's a great spot to get your adrenaline pumping.

Of course, the park is not just for adults.

There's a playground that is a hit among the kids.

I often see kids gleefully slide down the slides or swing high up in the air.

It's a sight that brings a sense of joy to any passerby.

Sanborn Park is also a popular spot for picnics.

A typical sunny day sees families spread out on the grass, enjoying their lunches.

It's also a great place to host a party.

With the beautiful Colorado sky overhead and the picturesque views all around, you're guaranteed a memorable time.

But it's not just for picnics and parties, the park also hosts a fishing derby.

Check Out Monster Trucks at the Island Grove Regional Park

http://greeleygov.com/activities/island-grove

There's something uniquely thrilling about the rumble of monster trucks at the Island Grove Regional Park.

The adrenaline rush is palpable when these metal beasts roar to life, and it's an experience that my kids absolutely love.

However, I must admit, I wish they'd accommodate more seating arrangements for such events, it would make the experience more enjoyable for everyone.

Island Grove Regional Park, in its expansive 155-acre glory, is a hub for regional events in Greeley.

The demolition derby, a particular highlight, draws in quite the crowd.

I remember accompanying my brother for one such event on the 4th of July.

The last day of the Greeley Stampede was a spectacle, to say the least.

The food stands, rides, and restrooms were aptly set up for the visitors - a juxtaposition of fairground nostalgia and exciting chaos.

Step back in Time at the Meeker Home Museum

I was always intrigued by the Meeker Home Museum, a two-story adobe house from 1870, nestled in the heart of Greeley, Colorado.

You can't help but admire the beauty of this historic site from a distance.

I have passed by the exterior many times, appreciating the architectural structure, which seems like a fascinating portal to a bygone era.

However, it was only recently that I decided to delve deeper into its history and explore what lay within its walls.

With a 48-hour advance reservation, I was able to secure a guided tour of this fascinating museum.

I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of knowledge shared by our guide who was both friendly and enthusiastic.

Meeker Home Museum was filled with original furnishings and period artifacts, each with its own story to tell.

The pace of the tour was just right, not too fast nor too slow, allowing us to soak in the atmosphere and ask questions.

I found it quite fascinating to walk around the very same rooms that people from the 1870s once did.

It was truly an immersive experience of the local history of Greeley, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about our city's past.

Make a Splash at Discovery Bay Waterpark

Every now and then, escaping the heat and bustle of Greeley calls for a day at the Discovery Bay Waterpark.

I can assure you this place is a haven for fun lovers.

I've discovered that timing is key to truly enjoying the experience, especially when you want to avoid the rush of school buses loaded with excited kids.

The waterpark is conveniently located right here in Greeley, meaning no need for a long distance travel for a good time.

Just pull up your swimming gear, grab a towel, and you're good to go!

My family and I love spending our afternoons here.

The laughter and joy that fills the air whenever we're there is simply priceless.

From the wave pool to the thrilling water slides, every visit leaves us with a collection of delightful memories.

The first time I visited Discovery Bay Waterpark, I was simply amazed.

The park was well maintained, the staff friendly, and the amenities were top-notch.

It was an unforgettable experience that had me looking forward to getting back as soon as possible.

Since then, it has become a family tradition to spend our summer weekends splashing around in the pools and whizzing down the slides.

The best part is it's not just for the kids.

Adults, too, can have a blast in this water paradise.

Feel the Adrenaline Rush at Greeley

Oh, the thrill of being at the Greeley Stampede Grandstand!

You've not truly experienced the heartbeat of Greeley until you've been there.

The grandstand is a hub of fun, music, and community spirit.

The atmosphere is electric, and a myriad of activities await you.

Yes, food prices are on the high side, but my mouth still waters at the thought of that tangy lemonade and the succulent Gyro sandwich I had.

The rides, though, they're another level of fun.

The $40 all-access armband might seem steep, but trust me, it's worth every penny.

Even when it rains, the experience doesn't dampen.

We were covered, and the soft drizzle only added to the charm.

I still remember the night vividly; the outstanding music shows echoed in my ears, and the long lines didn't dampen my spirits.

Everyone was friendly, a testament to the warm people of Greeley.

Now, this might sound funny, but one thing they could improve on?

Bathrooms.

Yes, you heard it right.

More bathrooms, please!

Especially for women.

The lines are ridiculously long.

But in true Greeley spirit, the men graciously let the women use their bathrooms.

If it's your first concert, I highly recommend the SRO (standing room only) tickets.

They give you the complete experience and are worth the price.

The staff is helpful and friendly.

My partner and I had an amazing time, made even more special with the meet and greet passes.

The staff was wonderful, guiding us every step of the way.

The Greeley Stampede Grandstand is more than a venue; it's an experience.

Have a Blast at Greeley Family FunPlex

A day at the Greeley Family FunPlex has become a regular weekend routine for my children and me.

No other place in the city sparks their excitement so much.

The sprawling recreation facility offers a variety of fun-filled activities for children and adults alike, making it an ideal destination to unwind and spend some quality family time.

First off, the gym at the FunPlex is my personal favorite.

It's conveniently equipped with the latest workout equipment, and the staff is extremely accommodating and helpful.

It offers me the perfect opportunity to sneak in a workout session while my kids have fun at the indoor pool.

Speaking of the pool, it's a massive hit with my kids.

They absolutely love the lazy river and miniature golf.

They were a bit disappointed when they found out that the slide had been colored but not fixed.

However, the excitement of a new mural quickly overshadowed their minor disappointment.

Something I appreciate about Greeley Family FunPlex is its commitment to safety.

On our last visit, I noticed numerous lifeguards patrolling the area, which made me feel secure about letting my kids have fun in the water.

The facility is also kept very clean, and all water attractions were operational, adding to the overall experience.

The ticket prices at the FunPlex are very reasonable, making it a budget-friendly option for many families like ours.

But the real steal is their frequent use of memberships, which we've taken full advantage of.

It's clear to me that the FunPlex is designed with families in mind, and it's certainly become a cherished part of our family's weekend routine.

Play Bowling at 2454 West

It's Friday night, and I'm looking for something to do.

After a long week, I'm in need of some good music, a little physical activity, and maybe even a bit of childlike fun.

It's times like these when I head over to 2454 West, my go-to place for a lively night out.

From the minute I walk in, there's an energy in the air that lifts my spirits.

I love the sound of clattering bowling pins and the cheers from the next lanes over.

It’s not unusual for me to team up with some friends for a few rounds of bowling.

The lanes are always clean, and the staff is incredibly helpful - whether it's setting up bumpers for the kids or delivering another round of sodas.

But the fun doesn't stop there.

On the upper floor, a laser tag arena awaits.

Filled with multi-level surprises, it's a hit with the kids and, let's be honest, more than a few adults.

It was a blast and a half.

Taking a break from the action, I usually head over to the arcade.

It's a welcome change of pace, a chance to relive childhood memories amidst the blinks and beeps of the games.

And if all that wasn't enough, they also host live music every week.

It's a treat to end the evening listening to local NOCO artists, their melodies providing a lovely backdrop as I wind down and reflect on the night's fun.

Whether it's for a birthday celebration, a random night out, or simply to enjoy some good music, 2454 West has earned a special place in my heart.

The ambiance, the staff, and the variety of activities make it a place I'd happily recommend to anyone looking for a fun-filled evening.

Final Thoughts

Greeley is not just a city, it's a vibrant experience that offers a diverse range of activities for everyone.

Whether you're a history buff, an art enthusiast, a nature lover, or a beer aficionado, Greeley has something for you.

The truth is that Greeley, with its captivating charm and a wide array of attractions, makes it difficult to resist the urge to explore every nook and corner of this wonderful city.

One thing's for sure: there's never a dull moment in Greeley, and I can't wait to make more memories here.
