We reached the spot about 45 minutes before sunset, and boy, was it a sight to behold!

Remember that if you want a good seat to watch this spectacle, you need to either bring your chair or blanket or reach an hour early to get a spot on the bench.

But if you're just in it for the bats, arriving at sunset or a few minutes later is perfect.

They take a little while post-sunset to make their grand entrance, but the wait is worth it.

We waited an extra 25 minutes, but we didn't mind. Watching those cute creatures flit about in the dusk was a sight to remember.

Another time, we decided to make an evening of it and brought a picnic.

Spending four hours from 4 to 8 pm amidst the blooming flowers with the stunning view of Lake Alice across the road was nothing short of magical.
