Despite that minor incident, B.F. Phillips Community Park still has its charms.

Its baseball fields are always kept clean, and the bleachers are in excellent condition.

The creative setup of the displays is an attraction in itself, and the opportunity to interact with most of everything in the museum is a huge plus.

However, I've noticed that some parts of the center often appear worn out and don't seem to be in working order.

I've seen disappointed kids on field trips unable to enjoy the science stations because they were either broken or just unexciting.

To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the center seems to be a persistent issue, particularly in the H.E.B toddler play store area.

I've seen toys strewn all over the place, dirty and broken, not at all a sight conducive for children's play.

Despite these concerns, the video game museum inside the center seems to be the saving grace.

It has a variety of interactive games that keep the kiddos engaged and entertained.

Frisco Discovery Center is definitely worth the extra $12, offering a much better experience than the rest of the center.

Hit a Strike at Strikz Entertainment

A while back, my friends and I decided to spend our weekend at Strikz Entertainment, and let me tell you, it was a blast!

The place was buzzing with life, vibrant lights filling the massive entertainment center.

Grand Park is family-friendly, and even my dog seems to enjoy our early walks there.

Though a certain part of the trail ends abruptly at Stonebrook Street, it doesn't deter me from making my way back and taking in the tranquil atmosphere.

I eagerly wait for further improvements to this trail.

After all, it's got so much potential to be even more captivating.

Have a Retail Therapy at Stonebriar Centre

It's a routine almost set in stone for me - lunch at the bustling food court of Stonebriar Centre.

You see, my office isn't far from here, and this expansive shopping mall has become my go-to spot for quick, delectable meals.

But it doesn't stop at food.

The Centre is a beacon of retail therapy, with department stores, restaurants, and a variety of shops that switch things up every now and then, keeping my shopping experience fresh and exciting.

Despite its magnetism, I've noticed the mall is not without its flaws.

For instance, the maintenance could use a boost.

I've seen the EV charging stations in a sore state of disrepair, and the cafeteria tables seem less than sparkling at times.

I often find the sanitizing dispensers yearning for a refill.

But remember to check out the Stonebriar Centre despite these minor hiccups.

It's a shopper's paradise if you know what you're looking for.

The mall, one of the largest in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, has always been a favorite hangout spot for me.

I remember when it first opened its grand doors in August 2000 and how the Dallas Tollway and Hwy 121 intersection were still under construction then.

The allure of the AMC theatre and the temptation of ice cream and crepes have kept me coming back.

When it comes to golf, there's no place like home.

And for me, home is the beautifully manicured greens and challenging fairways of the Frisco Lakes Golf Club.

Every week, I meet up with a group of ladies, and we take joy in navigating the stunning course, peppered with picturesque lakes.

The management and staff at Frisco Lakes are the heart of the club – always professional, friendly, and going above and beyond to make each golfing experience a memorable one.

They create this unique atmosphere that keeps us coming back, week after week.

A major highlight for us is the clubhouse, currently undergoing a full renovation.

It's nearing completion, and we are all incredibly excited about it.

I can already envision the laughter and camaraderie after a round of golf, over a delightful dinner and refreshing cocktails.

The view of the lake from the shaded patio with ample seating is just the icing on the cake.

I can't help but dream about the possibility of water misters on the patio to add a refreshing touch to those warm summer afternoons.

My favorite way to start the day is out on the range, which is always kept in great condition.

It can get quite busy, especially when everyone is eager to get some practice in.

But there's a sense of community in this hustle that adds to the charm of Frisco Lakes Golf Club.

While the course is challenging, particularly hole #11 (we've all got a bone to pick with that one), it's always a fair game.

I'd wholeheartedly recommend signing up for a membership - the prices are quite reasonable, and it's an excellent opportunity to become a part of this close-knit golfing community.

From the courteous course carts to the reasonable prices, Frisco Lakes Golf Club has a charm that is hard to resist.

Practice Shooting at the Frisco Gun Club

Can I tell you about a hidden gem in our city?

I'm talking about the Frisco Gun Club.

I've been there a dozen times, and it never disappoints.

It's not your typical weekend hangout place, but it's certainly worth a try.

One evening, I found myself inviting my girlfriends for a weekend meet-up at the club, it was a first for all of us.

We were initially apprehensive, but boy, did that change.

We were guided by Mark, a phenomenal instructor who took care of us novices like a pro.

He patiently walked us through everything we needed to know.

Believe me, two of my friends were pretty nervous about handling guns, but Mark's calm demeanor helped us tremendously.

What's more, the club isn't just about shooting.

They have a fantastic restaurant where we decided to have dinner after our shooting session.

I still remember the server suggesting chicken crêpes, which at first sounded unusual.

But trust me, they were absolutely delicious.

My friend had the filet mignon, and she loved it too.

The staff was exceptional throughout our visit.

The Frisco Gun Club also offers an indoor range.

As someone who has primarily used outdoor ranges, the indoor range initially had me on edge.

But the friendly staff and their thorough guidance made the experience enjoyable and comfortable.

I've made quite a few trips to the club since then.

The place has both handgun and rifle ranges that cater to different preferences.

Every visit has left me more and more impressed with their warm service.

Explore Western Heritage at Central Park

You've got to love Frisco's Central Park!

Every visit feels like stepping back in time into Texas' rich cattle drive history.

I just can't get enough of the massive Western-themed sculptures scattered throughout the park.

It's always a treat to see the shock and wonder on my friends' faces when I bring them here for the first time.

The park is much more than just a collection of sculptures.

It's my favorite place to take a casual stroll or even an intense jog.

This is why we regularly visit the Sci-Tech Discovery Center.

This interactive children's museum focuses on science, mathematics, and technology, making it an absolute delight for my little ones.

Now, I won't lie to you.

This place is not as grand as the large science museums you might find in big cities.

It's smaller, and more intimate, but still big enough to spend a few remarkable hours exploring the wonders of computers and anatomy.

It's also a great spot for summer camps, although it can get a bit chaotic when multiple camps converge at once.

But trust me, on a regular Sunday, the place is nothing short of magical.

However, I do advocate for a bit of a change with the volunteers.

Being the regular visitor that I am, I've noticed they could be more attentive and maintain a little more order, especially during busy periods.

Despite this minor drawback, it’s still a place I'd easily recommend to anyone looking for a safe and wholesome experience.

Of course, no place is perfect, and the Sci-Tech Discovery Center is no exception to this rule.

There's room for improvement.

Some areas of the center are out of order and could do with a bit of maintenance.

But let's not forget, this place is a city-owned establishment in Frisco, and with a few tweaks, it can definitely surpass expectations.

One thing I'd like to stress is the potential this place holds.

It’s heartbreaking to see it not living up to its full potential, especially because of the lack of staff and several broken exhibits.

But with the right management and investments, I believe the Sci-Tech Discovery Center can indeed become a frequently visited resource for our community.

Let's not write it off just yet.

The center is a diamond in the rough, and we, as a community, should rally behind it.

Let's help it become the brilliant gem it can be, illuminating the minds of our young ones and propelling them into a future of curiosity and discovery.
