Enjoy the Day at Hamilton Pool Preserve
I remember my first visit to Hamilton Pool Preserve fondly.
The beauty of the 50-foot waterfall rushing into a canyon's scenic natural swimming pool was mesmerizing.
Despite being tucked away in a grotto, it seemed a hidden gem, resonating with its enchanting charm.
The hiking trail towards the river is always open, and it's an hour-long journey both ways.
On days when the pool is closed to swimming, it becomes an empty pool area perfect for capturing stunning photographs.
I've come to appreciate its rawness for what it truly is - a natural preserve.
Nothing competes with going and exploring these places yourself.
Enjoy The Bistro at Texas Hill Country Olive Co.

Tucked away in the heart of Texas, this place is a must-visit.
The Bistro, in particular, is a gastronomic delight that never disappoints.
Take it from me, the baked Feta is a small bite of heaven, with its roasted olives adding a perfect balance of flavor.
As for the main course, my personal favorite is the Orchard Grilled Cheese!
I mean, who doesn't love a good grilled cheese, right? But theirs is on a whole new level.
Perfectly cooked to the right temperature, the blend of flavors melts in your mouth, leaving you craving more.
But it doesn't stop at grilled cheese. Their salads are healthy yet delicious for those looking for something light.
Each dish, crafted meticulously, is a fusion of comfort and creativity.

Exploring the Tranquil Scenery at Milton Reimers Ranch Park
I've always been a big fan of the outdoors, and living nearby, I've had the privilege to visit Milton Reimers Ranch Park frequently.
This canyon and forest preserve along the Pedernales River is, to put it simply, an outdoor haven.
I often find myself drawn to the river during the sweltering summer months.
The clear waters are a welcome relief from the heat.
As soon as you step in, the water becomes slightly murky, adding a sense of mystery to the experience.
The water is pleasantly warm in the shallow end, but as you venture further in, the cool water past your hip sends a refreshing chill through your body.
However, prepare your sunscreen as the water has no shade. It's akin to beach-like access, a nice touch for a river experience.
Beyond just the river, the park offers a range of activities that cater to the adventurous at heart.
Rock climbing and mountain biking are some of the crowd favorites around here.
From personal experience, I can vouch for the adrenaline rush you get from these activities.
When the weather cools down, I love exploring the hiking trails. It's a different world there - tranquil, serene, and beautiful.
Once, I took the backdoor exit for a more challenging hike and was rewarded with a close-up view of a cave.
The sight of wildflowers and butterflies along the walk in May was unforgettable.
Milton Reimers Ranch Park is not just about roughing it out in the wilderness.
It offers the convenience of toilet facilities and parking, though you do need to pay a fee to access the park.
It's a small price to pay for this place's beauty and adventure. To top it all off, the sunset view on the road is breathtaking.
I can't wait for my next visit!

I’ve been there a couple of times, and the drinks they whip up are consistently good each time.

Taste Texas at Alice's Restaurant
If you want to taste something local and hearty, I know just the place: Alice's Restaurant at Treaty Oak Distilling.
Let me tell you, this joint is about the whole Texas-style experience.
The indoor bar is a sight to behold with its top-notch bourbon that can easily be considered one of the best in Texas.
Best of all, you can start your tab at the bar, and it simply carries over to the restaurant, which is convenient.
Now, onto the food at Alice's Restaurant.
The menu is so mouthwatering it's near impossible to make a decision.
Another thing I love about Alice's is that they've got this superb band that performs on an old delivery truck.
It's a unique touch that adds to the overall atmosphere.
Most of their area is outdoors, so dress comfortably based on the weather.
And if you’re anything like me and love to explore new things, you will appreciate that Alice’s is situated at the Treaty Oak Distillery.
It means you can always take a detour and try some of their fabulous gin and tonics.

You know that feeling when you stumble upon a place so unique, so fun-filled, you can't help but think, "Why didn't I discover this before?"
That's exactly how I felt when I first set foot in Dreamland Dripping Springs.
It was a typical Monday, early enough for the crowd to be thinned out.
My friends and I decided to try out their mini golf course. We could tell from the first hole that it wasn't your run-of-the-mill game.
Boy, were there some challenging spots! But it was all in good fun.
We even went as far as trying both the easy and the most challenging courses. It was an adventure, I'll tell you!
Another occasion that stands out is my father's birthday—I surprised him with a trip to Dreamland's bar.
And what a hit it turned out to be! They have these self-serve taps that my dad thoroughly enjoyed.
We didn't get to try the food that day but decided to give it a go next time.
But that's not all this fantastic spot has to offer.
Whenever I wish for a change of scenery or some good old fun, I drive down to Dreamland.
There's always something for everyone, from multiple putt courses to play escapes for the kids, splash pads, pickle ball courts, and much more.
Moreover, the beautiful murals and art sculptures add an artistic touch to the place.
And they always have something fun happening.
Dreamland Dripping Springs is a treasure trove of fun and entertainment for all ages and skill levels. I can't recommend it enough!

Take a Special Retreat at Solaro Estate Winery
There's no better way to spend a lazy weekend than visiting my favorite local hideaway, Solaro Estate Winery.
Every time I step on this beautiful property, I am always met with the warmest of welcomes.
It's as if they've known me my entire life - much like the feeling of coming home.
I feel the Texas sun's warmth on my skin as I sit in the well-spaced, beautifully lit outdoor seating area, sipping on some of the most exquisite wines.
And what's even more delightful is that they allow us to bring our food.
I love packing a picnic basket for these occasions, knowing I can enjoy my homemade sandwiches with a glass of their finest.
What's fun about Solaro is its pet-friendly policy. I usually bring my dog along, and they always cater to her with a water bowl - except for the inside bar.
The joy she experiences running around the vast vineyard is a sight.
As a frequent visitor, I decided to join their wine club.
Now, I look forward to receiving bottles of their incredible wine shipped to my house thrice a year.
It's like a little surprise gift for myself, one that I eagerly anticipate.
Every visit to Solaro is an opportunity for a new and exciting wine-tasting experience.

Enjoy Afternoons at The Dripping Springs Sports & Recreation Park
The Dripping Springs Sports & Recreation Park has become my regular haunt, especially during the kids' football practice sessions.
There's something magnetic about the sight of young ones all agog with a competitive spirit, their grit and determination filling the air with palpable energy.
In all its glory, the park is as inviting as it is functional.
The well-maintained grassy fields, the public facilities, everything is meticulously kept in shipshape.
Despite its popularity, parking has never been an issue, even though some spots are unpaved. A little walk never hurt anyone, right?
While slightly sloping, the fields make for an interesting game dynamic.
The soccer fields are mainly well-marked, making it a breeze for players and spectators alike.
Not to forget, the park also boasts a small playground that always seems to be buzzing with the laughter and chatter of little ones.
And if you're like me, who enjoys a leisurely walk, the path encircling the entire complex is a treat.
Moreover, the front of the park houses nice restrooms, with portapotties conveniently located near the baseball fields.
One missing thing, though, is a concession stand. But if you ask me, it's a minor inconvenience.
After all, nothing beats packing a picnic basket and enjoying a meal under the sun!
And when it comes to hosting baseball practice for travel teams, the fields are in top-notch condition - a surefire recipe for a fun and memorable game.
