You can't miss the front yard, filled to the brim with larger-than-life dinosaur statues.

My kids can't get enough of them, and neither can I, if I'm honest.

Not to mention the fascinating scorpions and the intriguing sea monster.

This park also has a collection of dino fossils, but it's just the icing on the cake!

You might even get a chance to play some games and win prizes. That alone is worth the trip, trust me.

The park opens late morning, from Friday to Monday, and free parking is available right across the street.

Though the park is free to visit, don't hesitate to leave a donation if you can.

The park is also an excellent place for relaxation.

I always look forward to my weekend walk around Cornerstone Park, previously a quarry, now a natural haven in the middle of Henderson.

The transformation is breathtaking, from a barren, abandoned space to a thriving greenery teeming with life.

I especially love the park's marshes, the small lake, and the big pond.

The water adds a beautiful element to the place and is a favorite spot for many visitors.

One of my favorite pastimes in the park is hopping onto my bike and exploring the paths around the lake.

One of the park's highlights is the dog park, where I often take my pup for a run.

It's hard to describe the mesmerizing beauty of Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, a nature preserve that sprawls across 48,438 acres.

The first time you step onto one of its clean, well-marked trails, you're immediately captivated by the grandeur of nature.

An early morning hike is a great way to experience the charm of this place.

The best part about hiking here? You get to experience history at its best. Along the trails, you'll come across Native American petroglyphs that whisper tales of our ancestral past.

However, reaching these prehistoric petroglyphs may require a bit of a climb, especially if you're taking the Petroglyph Canyon trail.

The climb might be steep and tricky for some, but once you get there, the sight of these rock engravings is breathtaking.

Another trail I recommend is the McCullough Hills trail.

The view from the top of the hill is simply stellar.

You might even come across a couple of mountain goats along the way.

One piece of advice – bring water and sunblock if you plan to hike during the day, as there's no shade.

McCullough Hills trail is an excellent choice for those who love mountain biking.

Visiting the park is an all-day affair for me.

I've been to Reunion Trails Park & Amargosa Trailhead more times than I can count, and it's always a fantastic day out.

This park has so much to offer! Spanning a whopping 12 acres, it's spacious and full of recreational facilities that cater to everyone.

When you first enter, you're greeted by a splash pad, a paradise for kids in the summer and a lifesaver for parents trying to beat the heat.

The water stops flowing at 8 p.m., so ensure you get there with plenty of time to enjoy it to the fullest.

My kids and all their friends have spent countless hours laughing and splashing around in this area while I relax on the nearby benches.

And it's not just the splash pad. There are well-kept playgrounds that offer a variety of fun games and activities for kids.

My little ones always rush from one thing to another, excited to try everything out.

For those who are into sports, this park has some of the cleanest and most well-maintained basketball courts I've seen.

The large green field is perfect for soccer or just running around, watching the sunset after a long day.

I've had a few pick-up games here, and it's a great way to meet other locals and get a sweat going.

Despite being frequented by so many people, the park is spotless, making it an even more pleasant place to spend time.

It's rarely too busy, giving you room to breathe and enjoy the beautiful sunset views.

I look forward to my after-work strolls at the Whitney Mesa Nature Preserve.

It’s the perfect place to decompress, especially after a long day.

The view from the inner part of Patrick in Whitney Ranch Park, just behind the BMX park, is truly a sight to behold.

What gets me every time is the panoramic view that unfolds as I drive to the end of the Mesa parking.

The breathtaking scenery overlooks the eastern side of Las Vegas, perfectly capturing the majestic Sunrise Mountain in all its glory.

I often find myself packing a light dinner to enjoy at one of the few tables scattered throughout the park.

These spots are ideal for a quiet picnic or a BBQ with family.

It's quite a treat to sit back, munch on some food, and enjoy the cool breeze that sweeps across from the Mesa.

On many evenings, the airplane traffic is minimal, adding to the serene and peaceful atmosphere.

I also appreciate how clean the tables are and how perfect the lighting makes me feel safe even after sundown.

For families with kids and dogs, the Whitney Mesa Nature Preserve trail is a hit.

It's also more expansive than initially appears, so there's plenty of space for little legs and furry friends to burn off some energy.

On sunnier days, it's not uncommon to spot some wildlife.

We’ve even seen coyotes basking in the sun, an exciting yet cautious reminder of the wild beauty that inhabits the preserve.

Visit Water Street Plaza

Stepping into Water Street Plaza always feels like a breath of fresh air.

This is where you'll find me on many lazy afternoons and energetic evenings, taking in the cozy theater, playing ping pong, or just lounging on one of the shaded tables with my lunch.

And, of course, the concerts held here are a delight.

There's nothing quite like sitting under the large overhead fans, the music washing over you like a cool breeze on a summer night.

The big screen TV outside is one of the best things about the plaza.

Whether there is a game or a movie playing, it's a fun-filled community experience.

The park also features a jungle gym, perfect for families.

And did I mention the splash pad lily pad? Not only is it a fun spot for the kiddos, but it also helpfully marks the bathrooms' locations.

Parking is always a breeze here. There's enough space to accommodate a large crowd, meaning there's always room for one more.

But don't assume Water Street is just an everyday park.

One day, you'll see it transform into our Farmers Market, brimming with fresh produce and local products.

Now, let's talk food. The place has excellent food outlets, making it a food lover's paradise.

Imagine enjoying your meal amidst the PNW-like ambiance – it’s a treat!

The plaza embodies our small town's spirit, from its friendly staff to its rich schedule of events.

Whether it's date night, family night, or a regular day, Water Street Plaza always offers something.

Explore the Galleria At Sunset

Every time I set foot inside Galleria At Sunset, I'm reminded of this mall's charm and convenience.

Even during the week, between Monday and Thursday, it has an appealing quietness, perfect for leisurely shopping without the rush.

The weekends, however, are another story; it buzzes with the energy of shoppers, making it a vibrant spot to spend your day.

The lack of high-end stores such as Coach or Louis Vuitton might disappoint some, but for me, the presence of favorite anchors like Macy's, JC Penney's, Kohl's, and Dillard's more than makes up for it.

Whether I'm looking for a new outfit or a quick gift, these stores never fail to cater to my needs.

What I particularly love about this mall is its layout. It's spacious and spread out, providing plenty of room for shoppers to navigate.

Plenty of spots to sit and wind down when you need a breather from your shopping spree.

The food court is large, filled with various fast food options that come in handy when hunger strikes between shopping.

An element that adds a touch of charm to this mall, especially for children, is the little train that goes around the entire mall.

It's a delightful distraction for the little ones for just five dollars. It was a familiar sight for me growing up, as this mall has been a town staple for decades.

Parking, a concern for many visitors, is a breeze here. The parking lots are vast, accommodating many vehicles, with plenty of handicap spots.

Seeing the mall busy again, filled with shoppers, brings back the good old days. The Galleria at Sunset has always been more than just a mall to me.
