It's a place that has captured my heart with its warm Southern charm and culinary delights.
When friends and fam come to visit, I can't help but radiate pride as I guide them through our little food paradise.
We may not be as bustling as Miami or as glamorous as Palm Beach, but boy, can we cook!
And guess what?
The best part is we're just getting started.
Buckle up, my friend, you're in for a tasty ride!
While this list showcases some remarkable restaurants, it's important to note there are many other exceptional dining establishments in Zephyrhills that are not featured here. Our aim is not just to guide you to popular eateries but to encourage you to venture out and experience the city's diverse culinary landscape for yourself.
Taco De Oro #3
I know that finding authentic Mexican food in a new area can be a tough job, but I can assure you your search ends at Taco De Oro #3.
Believe me, ever since I discovered this heavenly place, my tummy couldn't be happier.
The chorizo and asada taco, garnished with cilantro and onion, coupled with a Jarrito Tamarindo, is a blast of flavors that never fails to satisfy my cravings.
And, oh, their green and red sauce!
They really know how to add that perfect spice to the food.
The balance of flavors is just right and definitely worth every penny.
But, let me tell you, it's not just about the food; Taco De Oro #3 also stands out in terms of service.
They're super nice, affordable, and fast, making it the perfect local spot for good in-and-out food.
Their Carne asada is another one of my favorites.
Tender and full of flavor, and not to mention it's not overly fatty.
The taco shells strike the perfect balance between soft and crisp, grilled just right.
And if you're ever in the mood to try something different, their quesadillas, burritos, and sandwiches are a must-try.
They're big, cheesy, and loaded.
The 3 supreme tacos, for instance, are so overstuffed they'll only set you back around $9 and leave you feeling full.
The fact that you can get such amazing food at such an affordable price is truly a steal.
Tina & Joe's Cafe
One day I decided to venture out and try a local eatery I'd heard plenty about - Tina & Joe's Cafe.
This quaint little place, located downtown, caught my attention instantly with its charming converted house setting.
My first visit was marked by a delightful lunch treat - a lobster stuffed avocado on a bed of greens.
The rich, succulent lobster paired with the creamy avocado was nothing short of a culinary delight.
Coupled with a hearty serving of crab bisque, it wasn’t just the flavors but also the generous portions that impressed me.
In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the prices here were quite reasonable as compared to other local spots.
On another occasion, I tried their small salad, lobster sandwiches, and potato salad.
I consider myself a seasoned foodie with over two decades of experience in trying lobster dishes across the world, but the lobster meal at Tina & Joe's was unlike anything I'd ever tasted.
The freshness of the ingredients, the perfect balance of flavors - it was a meal that etched itself into my memory.
Little Ninja Thai Japanese Food And Cafe
I can't believe it took me four years to find Little Ninja Thai Japanese Food And Cafe right here in Zephyrhills.
I've been living here all this time, completely oblivious to the gem in my city.
You might think it's just another local eatery, but oh boy, you couldn't be more wrong!
Every visit to this place has turned into a delightful treat for my taste buds, making me regret not discovering it sooner.
The minute you walk in, you'll notice the bright, down-to-earth atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease.
But what really steals my heart is their food.
Be it their Thai favorites like spring rolls and noodles, or their mouthwatering curry, every dish is a testament to their commitment to freshness and quality.
I've had their curry more times than I can count, and let me tell you, it is absolutely delicious, always leaving me yearning for more.
And then there's the magic they do with their presentation.
I still remember the day when I found a rose made from a straw wrapper on my drink.
It's these little touches that set them apart.
It's not just about the food, it's about creating an experience, and they do it so well!
The Hungry Greek
You sometimes come across a place that instantly becomes your go-to spot for a comforting and satisfying meal.
For me, that place is The Hungry Greek.
The place is always spotless, and the food?
It's a delightful escapade to traditional Greece on a plate - fast, fresh, and absolutely delicious!
This place was recommended by some colleagues from the YMCA, and I am so glad that I decided to give it a shot.
As someone who prefers a plant-based diet, I was thrilled to see the abundant vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.
Here, I can indulge in mouth-watering food without compromising on my nutritional needs.
The customer service at The Hungry Greek has always been exceptional.
On one occasion, there was a minor issue with my sandwiches.
I am so lucky to live in a community with an establishment like A.O.K.
I remember the first time I visited during a fundraiser event for Autism.
My children and I danced, had fun, and even enjoyed some classic arcade games at reasonable prices.
Honestly, it was a day crammed with so much laughter and joy.
Another memorable event was when our company decided to have our team building at A.O.K.
The food was out of this world.
The drink selection was diverse, and the axe-throwing activity was the highlight of the night.
It's not every day you get to throw axes!
What surprised me was when I learned that even kids are allowed to participate in axe throwing.
It was both an unusual and fun-filled family day.
Best Thai & Sushi
I've been a regular at Best Thai & Sushi for some good years now, and I must say, it's a place that never fails to impress me.
I've been going there for two years now, and not once have I had a negative experience.
When it comes to the food, the taste is always beyond exceptional.
Being a lover of spicy food, I find the inconsistency in spice levels in their curry intriguing, though it's always out-of-the-world delicious.
The ambiance at Best Thai & Sushi gives off a contemporary yet intimate vibe.
It's small enough to feel cozy but large enough that you stand a good chance of finding a table on a Saturday night without waiting.
I remember one fine evening, I tried their squid with rice and green curry – absolutely delightful!
There's no better way to start your day in the city than heading to Breakfast Station.
Every visit feels like a new adventure with their daily riddle.
It's a fun little mental exercise to guess the answer while waiting for my order.
The last time I was there, I decided to get the Breakfast Burrito, and it was an absolute treat.
It was massive and filled to the brim with deliciousness.
What stands out about Breakfast Station is how fresh and well-cooked the food always is.
I'm still dreaming about the sausage gravy from my last visit – it was incredibly savory and perfectly seasoned.
Capri Pizza & More
If you're ever in the mood for a slice of New York-style pizza, Capri Pizza & More is the place to be.
Tucked away in our lovely community, this family-run pizzeria is not just about pizza - it's a culinary experience.
Upon entering, the aroma of freshly baked dough and simmering tomato sauce wafting through the air is enough to make any mouth water.
Their menu, oh their menu!
It's a feast to the eyes and a treat to the palate.
Apart from their famous New York-style pies and slices, they serve up a variety of pasta dishes and subs.
But one thing that left an indelible mark on my taste buds was their ranch Philly pizza.
In Zephyrhills, there's a gem of a place that serves classic Vietnamese dishes, and it's called Saigon Café.
I remember the first time I visited; I was immediately drawn to the relaxed setting with bamboo and modern details.
It added an unexpected flavor to the community, just like the extensive menu did to my palate.
I can't forget the taste of their Pho - it was simply great!
Another dish that caught my attention was the quail which was flavorful.
The wonton soup was also a revelation.
It's honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life, and I can't wait to go back for more.
I've also tried their Boba, and it was superb.
Let me tell you about one of my favorite spots in the city, Sunrise Eatery.
This place is a gem, bringing American comfort food to a new level, all while serving it up in a delightful, homely setting.
The walls are adorned with unique memorabilia, and the checkered tablecloths add to the nostalgic charm.
One of my favorite things about Sunrise is their breakfast menu.
Whether you're an eggs and bacon classicist or more of a pancake connoisseur, they have something for everyone.
And let's not forget about the $1 ice cream - a deal that's hard to resist!
Piccola Italia Restaurant
I'm telling you, there's nothing quite like the homemade goodness of Piccola Italia Restaurant.
It's a family-run Italian place steeped in tradition, and I've been a regular visitor for years.
Let me just say, the food is something out of this world!
I'm always astonished at how they manage to make every dish taste so incredible.
They make their own pasta and sauce right in the kitchen, something that really appeals to my taste buds.
My favorite has to be their lasagna.
Their "choose 3 platter" is a must-try, too, you get to sample three different dishes, and the portions are huge.
On top of that, the service is top-notch.
Plaza Mexico Mariscos Restaurant Bar and Grill
One of my favorite spots for a night out in the city has to be Plaza Mexico Mariscos Restaurant Bar and Grill.
I've found myself there countless times, and every visit is a delightful experience.
If you ever find yourself there, you must try the molcajete, it's simply packed with flavor.
The mixed drinks are a spectacle to be seen and tasted.
They're so creative, and the taste never disappoints.
The atmosphere is charming, with colorful light fixtures and pictures adorning the restaurant.
The furniture is a sight to behold, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.
The food overall is great, my personal favorite being the beef enchiladas.
Oh, and you must save room for the deep-fried ice cream - it's a deliciously sinful treat.
Nico's Cheesesteaks & Pizzeria
You know, I've been going to Nico's Cheesesteaks & Pizzeria for a while now.
It's just down the road from me, and it's simply the perfect spot for a quick and tasty bite.
The place is actually designed for take-outs.
There’s this neat countertop bar inside where you can grab a seat and relax while waiting for your order to be prepared.
And if you prefer, you can enjoy your meal at one of the outside tables.
When you go there, make sure to try the meatball sub.
It's just plain meatballs, but it's served with a hearty marinara sauce and melted cheese on this absolutely delicious bread.
And don’t get me started on their pizzas.
I can tell you right now they're every New Yorker's dream!
The crust, the sauce, the cheese - it's all authentic and absolutely perfect.
And if you don’t feel like pizza or a sub, they have a great chicken teriyaki that's full of flavor.
Plus, their fries are always crispy and tasty.
The price for what you get is more than reasonable.
Tubby's Q and Smokehouse
As a fan of barbeque, I've explored many BBQ joints around the city, and Tubby's Q and Smokehouse was one of them.
The food was fantastic and definitely worth the price.
The brisket, which I was looking forward to, turned out to be tasty and tender.
The sides, such as rice, beans, and macaroni, were also flavorful.
I should mention their sausage and pulled pork, which was definitely the highlights of the meal.
2 Minutes Restaurant
One of the highlights of living in this city is undoubtedly the 2 Minutes Restaurant.
The place may be small, seating only about 45 people, but it creates this cozy, intimate atmosphere that you just don't get at the bigger restaurants.
The popularity of this little gem is evident during meal times when it gets filled pretty quickly.
But worry not, the service is lightning fast.
It always amazes me how I can place my order, have a quick chat, and before I know it, there's a hot, delicious meal waiting for me.
The food here is fantastic, but the chicken is unbeatable.
Seriously, no matter how many other places I try, I keep coming back for that.
And the breakfast, oh the breakfast!
You have to try it to understand the hype.
The best part?
The prices are so reasonable, it’s hard to believe the quality of food you get.
The unique charm of the 2 Minutes Restaurant is its love for John Wayne memorabilia.
If you're a fan, you'll appreciate the collection.
There's this little unassuming place on my route home called Taco Amigo.
Honestly, I must have passed it countless times before I decided to give it a try.
I was a bit hesitant at first, as there was no indoor seating.
But let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it.
Taco Amigo operates as a walk-up counter service, a setup that adds a unique charm to the place.
They've got a variety of delicious tacos.
My personal favorite is their birria (steak) tacos.
I hadn't heard of them until my yoga instructor recommended them, and boy, am I glad she did!
It's one of those dishes that instantly became my go-to comfort food.
But let’s not forget about the churros!
You know a place does it right when they serve churros that are so good that you eat them before you can take a picture.
Now, I always make sure to grab an order to satisfy my sweet tooth.
The weather here is generally good, so taking the food to enjoy outside is not an issue.
Plus, the bathroom at Taco Amigo is a thing of its own.
It's almost like a small transport to Mexico itself.
I've been lucky enough to frequent Sergio's Restaurant, our little slice of New York right here in the city.
The family-owned parlor is a gem with its New York-style pizza and other Italian meals.
Not only does it offer a cozy outdoor seating area, but the charm of Sergio's keeps pulling me back time and again.
The place is a casual, family-friendly spot that has managed to win the hearts of many of us locals.
The made-to-order pizzas are amazing - they are huge, full of flavor, and taste just like the ones in New York.
All the food is reasonably priced and is served fresh, which might mean a bit of a wait, but it's totally worth it.
I mean, what's better than enjoying a fresh, made-to-order meal?
Just another day in my city, and as usual, my hunt for the best breakfast led me to Rick's Cafe.
My order of a waffle sandwich was tasty.
My partner's Western omelet was also fantastic.
Their promptness in bringing the bill was commendable.
Some of my fellow locals also had a great experience, praising the quality of food at amazing prices.
Just remember, it's a cash-only place, and they have an ATM for convenience.
The Sandwich Spot
There's a place in the city I've been going to for a while known as The Sandwich Spot.
The place has a friendly atmosphere and boasts fresh, homemade salads.
I've been in the restaurant business myself, and I must admit that their food is quite good.
They offer a variety of items on their menu, including pasta, potato salad, and various soups.
Over time, I've developed a liking for their roast beef sandwich.
The roast beef is always cooked to perfection, and the horsey sauce, although a tad spicy, complements the sandwich beautifully.
Aside from the sandwiches, I usually order a cheese sandwich for my daughter, which she loved.
R&J Fried Chicken
Fried chicken is my guilty pleasure, and R&J Fried Chicken is my favorite spot to indulge.
Just a simple Google search can guide you to the best-fried chicken joint in Tampa.
The star of the show is, of course, the crispy fried chicken.
The crunch when you bite into it is music to the ears, and the flavor, a melody to the taste buds.
The BBQ and buffalo wings have never disappointed me, either.
They've got that perfect spicy kick that never fails to satisfy my cravings.
The livers were surprisingly good, too.
Their scrumptious food, reasonable prices, and comfortable eat-in area make it a spot worth returning to.
If there's one thing I'll never grow tired of, it's the taste of the delicious pizzas from Commandough's Pizza.
Trust me, I've been living in Florida for a couple of years now, and their pizza is the best I've tasted in the entire state.
Their menu is fantastic, with pizza being the star attraction, but they also offer refreshing salads, hearty subs, and finger-licking wings to balance things out.
What makes their pizza stand out is their dough.
It's fresh, flavorful, and baked to perfection.
The sauce they use is equally delicious.
And the best part?
Their pizzas are filling but never heavy on the stomach.
Commandough's Pizza is not just about the food.
It's about the atmosphere too.
They have this lovely casual seating arrangement, both indoors and outdoors, where you can enjoy your pizza with a cool breeze.
If you're someone who enjoys a side of entertainment with your pizza, they have trivia and live bands performing at night.
From the authentic Mexican flavors at Taco De Oro #3 and Taco Amigo to the unforgettable breakfast spreads at Breakfast Station and Sunrise Eatery, every visit has been an adventure.
The array of cuisines available in our city is truly impressive.
