Oh, how I love living in Woodbury, Minnesota!
The city offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, friendly neighborhoods, and a thriving culinary scene that makes it a true delight for foodies like myself.
Over the years, I've had the pleasure of exploring a wide variety of restaurants in the area, and I must say, there's a little bit of something for everyone here.
From cozy family-owned eateries to modern fine dining establishments, I've compiled a list of the best restaurants in Woodbury, Minnesota, that you simply must try.
Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!
Tono Pizzeria + Cheesesteaks
I recently decided to check out Tono Pizzeria + Cheesesteaks here in Woodbury and was pleasantly surprised by the experience.
The building itself was clean and cozy and had the ambiance of a classic pizza shop.
Although the place is known for its cheesesteaks, I opted for a pizza this time.
The crust was absolutely delicious, and the overall quality of the pizza was impressive.
It was nice and thin, with just the right amount of cheese – not too overpowering.
I couldn't help but overhear fellow diners raving about the incredible sandwiches, so I know I'll be returning soon to try one of those out as well.
During my visit, I also noticed that they offer a variety of free sauces, which I've heard are amazing.
Angelina's Kitchen Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar
One of my favorite spots in town for a special evening is Angelina's Kitchen Italian Restaurant & Wine
It's the perfect setting for a date night or a business dinner but also casual enough for a get-together with friends.
My go-to dish at Angelina's is their spinach lasagna, which is the best I've ever had.
The presentation of the food is always impeccable, and although the prices are on the higher end, it's worth it for the quality and ambiance.
My friends rave about their shrimp rossetto and blackened walleye, so there's definitely something for everyone on the menu.
The live music and fantastic atmosphere also add to the restaurant's appeal.
Andiamo Italian Ristorante
I must admit, I have a soft spot for Andiamo Italian Ristorante.
My partner and I frequently visit this gem, and each time we're blown away by their culinary offerings.
Whenever we're in the mood for Italian fare, we make it a point to try something new from their menu, and let me tell you, we've never been disappointed!
One of my personal favorites is the lobster ravioli - it's simply divine.
And if you're in the mood for pizza, their chicken pizza with creamy sauce is a must-try.
Another aspect I love about Andiamo is the cozy, old-world Italy atmosphere.
It's an inviting space that makes you feel right at home, making it perfect for date nights when we're in the area.
Plus, they have ample parking, which is always a bonus!
I recently visited Pizzeria Pezzo, and it was an incredible experience!
I'd heard good things about their deep dish pie and thin crust pizzas, so I decided to give it a try.
The deep dish was amazing, with a perfect crust and generous toppings.
The thin crust was so fresh and had the perfect crunch.
Besides their pizzas, the salads are huge – perfect for sharing with friends or family.
For dessert, I indulged in their cannoli and gelato, which were the perfect end to a hearty meal.
Ronnally's Pizza and Pasta
As a pizza lover residing in Woodbury, I couldn't help but pay a visit to Ronnally's Pizza and Pasta, a long-running Italian restaurant that has been a mainstay in the community.
I decided to drop by this cozy little joint with my friends after hearing about their delicious pizza and pasta dishes.
We ordered a couple of their signature dishes, including their famous take-n-bake pizza, and a few pasta dishes to share.
The food arrived promptly, and we couldn't wait to dig in.
The pizza was incredible - one of the best I've had in a long time.
The crust was perfect, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful.
The pasta dishes were equally impressive.
We tried the Garlic Chicken, Spaghetti and Meatballs, and Cheese Ravioli, all of which were scrumptious.
We also enjoyed a Caesar Salad, which was a great addition to the meal.
The prices were reasonable, and the daily specials added even more value to our dining experience.
I learned that they also offer catering services, which is something I'll definitely consider for future events.
Aloha Poke Co.
I have tried various poke bowl spots, but Aloha Poke Co. has a special place in my heart.
I usually order a custom bowl, which allows me to pick and choose my favorite ingredients.
I find the cold, almost frozen ingredients refreshing and perfect for a light meal.
The place does get quite busy during peak hours.
However, that's just a testament to its popularity among locals and visitors alike.
Ze's Diner Woodbury
I absolutely love starting my day at Ze's Diner Woodbury.
As soon as I walk in, I'm greeted by the charming 1950s-themed decor.
It's definitely a fun and unique atmosphere with a touch of Greek influence.
I often bring my kids along, and they can't get enough of the King Kong omelet with gravy on the side.
I, on the other hand, am a fan of their hot and spicy meal.
It's not overwhelmingly hot, but it sure is delicious!
One of the things that truly stands out about Ze's Diner is the cleanliness and how well-kept the establishment is.
It's hard not to feel like you've stepped back in time while enjoying a scrumptious all-day breakfast.
On warmer days, it's such a treat to sit in their outdoor seating area and soak up the sunshine while indulging in some good old-fashioned comfort food at reasonable prices.
Before leaving, I always make sure to grab a couple of their gigantic cinnamon rolls for the road.
They're so big that they make my mint tin look tiny in comparison!
Hazelwood Food & Drink - Woodbury
I had a thrilling experience dining at Hazelwood Food & Drink.
The menu at Hazelwood Food & Drink offers a variety of American dishes, and I was not disappointed by my choices.
The meatloaf was the standout dish, with its juicy texture, flavorful sauce, and crispy onion bits on top.
The sandwiches were delicious, and the banana cream pie was also a hit.
I can't wait to return for their brunch offerings!
One thing to note is that the desserts are quite large, making them perfect for sharing.
Considering the high quality of the food, I found the prices to be very reasonable.
Punch Pizza Woodbury
I recently stopped by Punch Pizza Woodbury in City Centre Plaza for a quick bite to eat.
The pizzeria has a lovely inside and outside seating area, perfect for a family outing or a casual dinner with friends.
They're known for their wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, which looked quite promising.
I've also heard that it's an excellent spot for gluten-free options, so that's a plus.
One thing that stood out to me was their seamless online ordering process.
The pizza was great for its price, and despite having heard it would be a 30-minute wait, I was pleasantly surprised when my order came out much quicker.
The rosemary focaccia could use some improvement, though, as the salt was unevenly distributed, making some bites too salty.
Their punch salad is something I would definitely go back for – it was one of the best salads I've ever had.
I'm always on the lookout for new and delicious food spots in my town.
Recently, I decided to give India Palace a try after hearing rave reviews from my sister.
The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the lovely aroma of Indian spices and a clean, spacious dining area.
There were plenty of classic Indian dishes to choose from, including a delightful selection of vegetarian options.
I settled on trying their Chicken Makhani, a dish I had previously known as butter chicken.
The flavor was absolutely amazing, and the portion size was generous without being overwhelming.
To accompany my meal, I ordered both regular naan and potato naan, which were equally delicious.
Tamarack Tap Room
One of my favorite spots to unwind and catch up with friends is Tamarack Tap Room.
It's a cozy American restaurant with a brick-walled pub atmosphere that I absolutely love.
With 70 rotating craft beer taps and a fantastic bourbon selection, there's always something new and delicious to try.
The moment I step into Tamarack Tap Room, I'm greeted by a clean and well-maintained environment, from the parking lot to the entryway.
The patio is also a great spot to relax on warmer days, surrounded by beautiful flowers, lights, and calming fountains that help drown out any nearby traffic noise.
The drink menu at Tamarack Tap Room is quite extensive, and I can't help but recommend the Bourbon Amaretto Sour – it's a must-try!
Their food menu is also quite impressive, with locally-sourced burgers and other tasty dishes to choose from.
My personal favorite is the Armadillo Eggs appetizer, which is simply fantastic.
As for the service, it's usually great and attentive.
One of my favorite spots for a quick and satisfying meal is Café Zupas, a fast-food restaurant that specializes in hearty soups, innovative salads, and diverse sandwiches.
As a local, I can't help but be impressed by their fresh ingredients and friendly service.
Just the other night, I was craving something light and tasty for dinner.
Café Zupas was open past nine on a Saturday night, so I decided to head over.
I ended up trying the spicy chicken and chipotle chicken salad they recommended, and it was absolutely delicious!
I also couldn't resist their dessert options, which really hit the spot.
I've also visited Café Zupas for a quick lunch, and even though it can get quite crowded on weekends, the line always moves fast.
I've tried their veggie sandwich, salad bowls, chickpea soup, and tomato basil soup, and all were excellent.
The freshness of the vegetables really stands out, making for a fantastic meal.
One of my favorite parts of dining at Café Zupas is the chocolate-covered strawberry and roll that comes with each meal.
It's such a nice touch and always makes my visits feel special.
I recently dined at Duc's Restaurant, and I had a fantastic experience.
As soon as I walked in, I could see that the restaurant had a cozy and friendly atmosphere.
One of the dishes I tried was the Egg Noodle Soup with Chicken Wonton and Vegetables.
The broth was flavorful, the noodles were chewy, and the wontons and veggies added a delightful crunch.
I also had Hot and Spicy Chicken.
The tender dark meat was perfectly balanced with the onions, and the sauce had just the right amount of kick.
Now, let me tell you about the star of the show – the Deep Fried Potatoes.
They were thin, crispy, and sautéed in an amazing sauce.
I couldn't help but be impressed at how they managed to stay crisp for hours.
Ramen Station is my local hangout for delicious and authentic ramen in town.
I've traveled to Japan and tried various ramen places, so trust me when I say Ramen Station is top-notch.
I often find myself visiting this petite Japanese restaurant at least once a week with my partner, and we are never disappointed.
Check out their website here.
The service at Ramen Station is always quick, and the food arrives piping hot.
I personally recommend trying their Tan Tan Ramen, cream cheese puffs, and Tempura tofu.
Their gyoza is fantastic, with great flavor and a perfect dipping sauce.
If you're a fan of spicy food, the Tan Tan broth is a must-try.
Other restaurants nearby
Lake Elmo Inn (Lake Elmo)
Let me tell you about one of my favorite dining spots in town, Lake Elmo Inn.
I've been coming here for years with my family, and we have never been disappointed.
The food is always incredible, and I must admit, their corned beef and cabbage is to die for.
I'm not even joking when I say I could eat it every day for the rest of my life!
The atmosphere at this fine dining restaurant is so elegant, it's perfect for special occasions or just a lovely night out.
During the holiday season, the place is beautifully decorated, adding an extra touch of magic to the dining experience.
The service is always top-notch, too.
Make a reservation and treat yourself to their creative menu, Sunday champagne brunch, or seasonal outdoor seating.
North Pole Restaurant (Newport)
Whenever I crave some comfort food, North Pole Restaurant is always my go-to place.
I've been a regular patron for quite some time now, and I just love everything about this family-owned restaurant.
The cabin motif is really cozy, giving it a warm, homey atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying those delicious American comfort food dishes.
I'm a huge fan of their daily specials, which can be found on their website.
One time, I was in a bit of a rush and decided to visit North Pole Restaurant for breakfast before embarking on a long drive.
The food was fantastic, and my coffee was piping hot, just the way I like it.
I highly recommend giving their chocolate chip pancakes a try – they're incredible and huge!
Catrinas Cerveza & Mexican Grill (Oakdale)
I've always considered myself a big fan of Mexican food, and when I heard about Catrinas Cerveza & Mexican Grill, I knew I had to give it a try.
As a frequent visitor, I can tell you that Catrinas offers good, fresh, casual food.
The portions are generous, and I particularly enjoyed the steak tacos and steak bowl, both of which were packed with flavor.
While the interior is somewhat dated, the tables and chairs showing their age add to the overall charm.
Their menu is quite extensive, and you might find dishes you haven't tried before.
Lakewood Tavern (Lake Elmo)
I had been hearing great things about Lakewood Tavern from friends and was excited to experience it for myself.
For dinner, I chose the caliente burger, which was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of heat.
My partner, who joined me for the night, opted for the Jamaican jerk wings, which, according to them, were the best wings they'd had in a while!
We also appreciated the extensive beer selection and couldn't resist finishing off our meal with a delicious old-fashioned.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Lakewood Tavern and will definitely be returning soon to explore more of their menu items.
I've been a regular at Tinucci's for over 25 years, and it truly feels like a home away from home.
This family-owned restaurant offers a diverse menu of American and Italian cuisine, and their deli section is always stocked with mouth-watering items.
What really sets Tinucci's apart, though, is their all-you-can-eat prime rib buffet - it's a must-try for anyone visiting the area.
I can't even count the number of family celebrations we've had here, and the service has always been top-notch.
One of my favorite memories at Tinucci's is the time some friends and I went to their Friday fish fry buffet.
Despite the place being full, the acoustics were so good that we didn't have to shout to hear each other.
Indian Masala (Maplewood)
I absolutely love Indian food, and I feel so lucky to have the Indian Masala restaurant in my neighborhood.
This place is truly amazing, and I can attest to the fact that every single item is made in-house.
The moment you take a bite, you know that the food is fresh and incredibly delicious.
In my opinion, it's the best Indian restaurant in the area.
I enjoy the lunch buffet, which is fairly priced and offers a wide variety of options, particularly on weekends.
And as someone who cares about dietary choices, I appreciate that they offer plenty of vegan options as well.
I've eaten here many times, both dine-in, and takeout, and the food has always been top-notch.
One of my absolute favorites is the goat vindaloo – if you've never had goat, this is the dish to try.
Another stunning appetizer is the chicken lollipop.
Of course, they also have an extensive selection of vegetarian and vegan options that are equally delicious.
I remember once when I had the buffet and decided to take a Masala Dosa for to-go.
The buffet was fantastic, with a wide variety of choices for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
I felt the Chowmein and mutton dish could have been better, but overall, it was a delightful experience.
The Masala Dosa was not the best, as the crunchiness decreased, and the taste was not quite up to par, but the side chutneys were excellent.
Woodbury truly has an impressive variety of restaurants to satisfy any palate.
From authentic Mexican cuisine at Catrinas Cerveza & Mexican Grill to the cozy atmosphere and delicious Italian dishes at Angelina's Kitchen, there's something for everyone.
Ultimately, no matter your craving or dining preference, Woodbury's food scene is sure to delight and impress.
