Riley's ChiCorkfish

Meat platter at Riley's ChiCorkfish

I remember the first time I stumbled upon Riley's ChiCorkfish, it was like finding a hidden gem inside a gas station.

Initially, I was skeptical about trying food from a gas station, but the word around town was that this place has the best sandwiches.

So, I decided to give it a go, and I'm so glad I did!

I tried their tropical chicken sandwich, and I must say, it was the best sandwich I've had in a really long time.

The homemade sauces they use are to die for, and they really elevate the flavors in their dishes.

Another dish I absolutely love is their brisket avalanche for breakfast.

I usually go there just about every Saturday morning, and I can't get enough of it.

The brisket is so tender it literally melts in your mouth.

On top of that, their Texas Twinkies are practically a meal by themselves - I couldn't even finish one of their "big" burgers.

But the real star of the show is the pulled pork.

My partner got the bama Slama, and I got the Bama fries, and we were both blown away by the flavor and moisture of the pulled pork.

Now, we even plan road trips just so we can stop by and have it again.

Antica Trattoria

Lobster with squid ink at Antica Trattoria

As someone who lives in the area, I can personally vouch for the amazing experience at Antica Trattoria.

This Italian restaurant is a hidden gem in Winchester.

They even welcomed us with a complimentary appetizer, which was a delightful surprise.

She made us feel right at home, and her knowledge of the wines and sangria offered at the restaurant was impressive.

I decided to have the homemade sangria, which was truly refreshing and paired perfectly with my gnocchi entree.

The atmosphere at Antica Trattoria is cozy and intimate, giving off a family vibe.

I loved their daily special - duck with an orange sauce over black rice.

It was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were amazing.

I also enjoyed the summer vegetable mix with bread and mouthwatering rice balls.

For dessert, I couldn't resist the tiramisu, and it was absolutely delicious.

Pizzoco Pizza Parlor

Pizza at Pizzoco Pizza Parlor

As someone who lives in the area, I must say that Pizzoco Pizza Parlor is my go-to spot for a scrumptious pizza.

I've tried numerous pizzas from their menu, and they never disappoint.

My favorite has to be the BeeSting, which is an absolute delight for my taste buds.

I've also ordered half South Pacific and half Blanca pizzas, and though I expected the South Pacific to be spicier, both were amazing nonetheless.

I've mostly done pick-up orders, but I'm looking forward to dining in and trying some of their beers or wine soon.

The atmosphere at Pizzoco is one of the things that makes it so special.

It's housed in an old service station with garage doors, giving it a unique and cozy vibe.

There's also local artwork on the walls, adding to its charm.

Plus, they have both indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor area being pet-friendly.

Don't let its strip mall location fool you, Everest Food House serves up some of the most mouthwatering dishes I've had the pleasure of tasting.

One of my go-to dishes is their BBQ platter, which offers a selection of perfectly roasted meats in one dish.

I've also found myself ordering the cashew lamb curry more than once, as it's always cooked to perfection.

Their unique blend of spices really sets this restaurant apart from its competitors, and the prices are quite reasonable.

Service at Everest Restaurant is always top-notch.

The atmosphere at the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a beautiful display of pictures from Nepal decorating the walls.

The food was delicious, with a unique twist on the usual brunch fare, and the menu had a nice variety of dishes made with fresh ingredients.

I particularly loved the sausage gravy and biscuits, which I highly recommend to anyone who stops by.

The atmosphere at The Wine Room was really cool, with a mix of modern and rustic elements that made the space feel cozy and inviting.

My friends and I were seated in the couch area, which added to the comfortable and laid-back vibe.

One thing that stood out to me was how they're keeping up with technology by using QR codes for their menu.

This made accessing the menu and checking out new additions super easy without cluttering up the table with physical menus.

As a local, I'm always on the hunt for good food, and Gringo Gordo Empanada Shop has become one of my favorite spots!

I've had the pleasure of visiting both their locations, and I can confidently say that their empanadas are simply amazing.

The Gringo Gordo Empanada Shop offers a variety of empanadas, both meat and veggie options, and the sauces they provide make the experience even better.

During my first visit to the downtown location, the lovely and inviting interior caught my eye.

As soon as I walked in, I was warmly welcomed and guided to the front counter, where all available empanadas were displayed with their ingredients listed.

I decided to go for the 6-pack deal and chose three empanadas to try, which turned out to be a great choice.

They were warm, generously stuffed, and absolutely delicious.

I felt truly appreciated as a customer.

I'm definitely glad to have Gringo Gordo Empanada Shop in our community, as it introduces a more diverse representation of Latino cuisine, especially that of South America.

I decided to order the ropa vieja with salad and tostones, and it was nothing short of spectacular.

The freshness and rich flavors of the dish transported me to a Latin American culinary haven.

I also couldn't help but notice the variety on their menu, which brought together dishes from El Salvador, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.

And it didn't take long for me to realize that everything was made to order and served piping hot.

The next time I visit, I'm eager to try more menu items, like the mofongo with pork or the shrimp tacos.

Lucky for me, they were able to accommodate me in their intimate bar area.

I started my evening with one of their beautifully crafted cocktails, which was nothing short of heavenly.

As a wine enthusiast, I was also impressed with their extensive wine list, featuring a variety of both local and international wines.

The tapas and small plates were the stars of the night, though.

Each dish I tried was gorgeously plated and absolutely delicious.

The filet crostini and the scallop and chorizo tartlett were my personal favorites, but I truly enjoyed everything I tasted.

The pace at which they served each dish was perfect, allowing me to savor each bite without feeling rushed.

Domino's Pizza

I've lived in this neighborhood for a few years now, and one of my go-to spots for pizza is Domino's Pizza.

The first time I ordered from them was for a carryout order.

When I arrived to pick up my pizzas, they were still being prepared, so I had to wait a couple of minutes.

When I got home, the pizzas were excellent - one of the best I've had in the area.

Since that first experience, I've ordered from them multiple times, and the quality and service have remained consistent.

The pizzas have a perfect combination of a crunchy crust with a soft inside and a ton of flavor.

On the occasions when I order pizza for delivery, the driver has always been prompt, usually arriving within the estimated time.

I just make sure to tip the driver directly whenever I can.

This casual counter-serve deli may look like your average sandwich shop from the outside, but it's actually a hidden gem of Peruvian cuisine.

I remember my first visit there, I was expecting a regular deli sandwich but was pleasantly surprised with the delicious options they had.

My favorite dish has to be their Peruvian-style roast chicken – it's so full of flavor and cooked to perfection.

We started off with their amazing chips and salsa, and I couldn't resist ordering one of their delicious margaritas.

My partner and I decided to try different dishes to get a taste of their varied offerings.

He went for the chorizo tacos, which were simple yet packed with flavor.

I, on the other hand, chose the Enchilada Verdes - the chicken enchiladas with green sauce.

I must say, it was one of the best meals I've had in Winchester in quite some time.

The portions were generous, and the food was fresh and full of flavor.

I'm a big fan of chili rellenos, and the ones served at El Habanero were up to par.

Oak Stone Craft Pizza and Bar

I started my meal with some delicious chicken wings and then moved on to their signature "full house" pizza, which was loaded with fresh toppings and had an incredible taste.

The crust was the perfect balance of crunchy and soft, and it was easy to fold each slice in half, just the way I like it.

While dining, I couldn't help but appreciate the beautiful outdoor seating area, which seemed perfect for larger gatherings or families with children.

The restaurant also offers heating during the winter months, making it a great year-round spot for a casual meal.

Throughout the night, the service was attentive and prompt, despite the fact that the place was quite busy.

I am planning to go back soon to try more of their artisanal dishes and enjoy the lively atmosphere once again.

Thai Lotus

I recently discovered a wonderful hidden gem in our neighborhood called Thai Lotus.

The place is very clean, and the atmosphere is simply amazing.

The menu offers a wide selection of Thai dishes at reasonable prices, making it hard to choose just one!

I started off with Fresh Rolls as an appetizer, and they were absolutely delicious!

They came with peanut and chili sauces, adding a fantastic flavor to the rolls.

For my main course, I couldn't resist trying my all-time favorite dish - Green Curry with chicken.

I was more than satisfied with my choice, as the curry had the perfect flavor and the right amount of heat for my taste.

What stood out to me, apart from the food, was the impeccable customer service and the beautiful decor of the restaurant.

I also appreciated the effort they put into making the place look stunning and inviting.

However, I believe this is only because Thai Lotus's hospitality is so focused on pleasing their guests.

I've also tried their Escovitch fish, which was cooked to perfection.

And don't even get me started on their Everything Sauce!

It's so good that I bought two bottles to use for my own BBQs.

Awabi Sushi Bar

Sushi at Awabi Sushi Bar

I recently visited Awabi Sushi Bar for a casual dinner with friends, and I was truly impressed.

The interior had a comforting atmosphere with red walls and outdoor seating, perfect for a relaxing evening.

But what really stood out was the amazing sushi rolls and an array of Japanese dishes they offered.

The miso soup was outstanding and served in just the right size bowl.

What caught my attention the most, though, was their unique take on sushi rolls.

They had a special twist to them, using unusual ingredients and flavor combinations that set Awabi apart from other places in the area.

In particular, the beach house roll came with a butter garlic sauce for dipping, which was a delicious alternative to soy sauce.

Although the cost might be slightly higher than other sushi places, the quality of their dishes made it worth every penny.

This is definitely a spot I'll continue to visit and recommend to others.

The service at Taqueria Guadalajara was top-notch.

The restaurant was also very clean, including their spotless restrooms with doors that go all the way to the floor – a real treat for a traveler like myself.

Although the prices were a bit higher than what I usually expect from a Mexican restaurant, the quality of the food and drinks made it worthwhile.

I also had their Horchata, which was so good!

One small suggestion, though, would be to provide an extra tortilla for their tacos, as they tend to fall apart with just one.

I must say, the quality and freshness of their sushi blew me away.

It was definitely not your typical supermarket sushi!

Bonnie Blue Southern Market & Bakery

BBQ brisket at Bonnie Blue Southern Market & Bakery

As someone who loves exploring local food joints, I can confidently say that Bonnie Blue Southern Market & Bakery is an absolute gem in our town.

I've visited this place several times now, and each time I'm reminded of the amazing southern flavors, friendly service, and unique atmosphere.

What I really love about this place is the converted gas station from 1920 that adds a historic and cozy touch to the ambiance.

The food at Bonnie Blue is nothing short of delicious.

From the smoked chicken, beef brisket, and pork to the mouthwatering baked goods and desserts, everything is cooked to perfection, and you can truly taste the love and thought put into each dish.

My personal favorite is their beef brisket sandwich, and I can never leave without grabbing a freshly baked pastry for later.

One thing that sets Bonnie Blue apart from other barbecue joints is the lack of overtly religious themes.

You can enjoy your meal without any distractions, making it a comfortable spot for everyone.

Pizza at Roma Old Town Wood Fired Pizzeria

Roma Old Town Wood Fired Pizzeria has become one of my go-to spots for a cozy and delightful dinner.

As soon as you enter this upbeat, casual pizzeria, you are welcomed by the aroma of wood-fired pies and Italian/Greek specialties.

One thing I absolutely love about this place is their rotating taps of craft beer – it always keeps me coming back to try new brews!

During my last visit, my kids couldn't stop raving about the pizza.

My 10-year-old daughter said it was the best pizza she's ever had, while my 13-year-old son couldn't get enough of the unique Brussels sprouts pizza.

Not to mention, the lemonade was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweet and sour.

The food at Mission BBQ was absolutely delicious.

I decided to go with the brisket and ribs, and I was not disappointed.

The meat was so tender that it fell off the bone, and the smoky flavor was just perfect.

In addition to the excellent food, I was also impressed by their selection of sauces and spices.

One thing that stood out to me was the strong sense of patriotism and support for veterans and first responders at Mission BBQ.

The walls were adorned with memorabilia and pictures, showcasing their commitment to giving back to those who served.

It's great to see a restaurant that not only serves fantastic food but also has such a noble mission.

Sabai Thai

Mango sticky rice at Sabai Thai

This quaint, patio-equipped Thai restaurant serves up some of the most delicious traditional Thai cuisines I've ever tasted.

My family and I love the warm and welcoming environment, making it an ideal spot for any occasion, be it a family meal, date night, or a gathering with friends.

One of the best things about Sabai Thai is the extensive menu that offers fresh and quality dishes.

As a local, I can confidently say that you'll find authentic Thai flavors in every dish.

Plus, if you're a vegetarian or a vegan, they can customize most of their menu items by replacing meat with tofu.

What really stood out to me during our visit was the attentive service we received.

Anthony's IV

Just last week, I decided to try out a pizza place that's been highly recommended by my friends – Anthony's IV.

I've usually had their pizza delivered to my home, but this time I chose to dine in and experience the atmosphere myself.

Being Italian myself, I have pretty high expectations when it comes to pizza and Italian cuisine in general.

But let me tell you, Anthony's IV surpassed my expectations!

I started off with a classic cheese pizza, and I was blown away by the quality of the cheese and the perfect balance of seasoning.

My next choice was the Hawaiian pizza, which had a generous amount of salty ham that perfectly complemented the sweetness of the pineapple.

And then, there was the Sicilian Meat Lovers pizza – hands down the best deep dish style pizza I've ever had!

Chicken Parmigiana at Donato's Touch of Italy

Donato's Touch of Italy is a delightful Southern Italian restaurant.

The Eggplant Forgetaboutit is always a hit, and the pizza is consistently crisp and delicious.

I appreciate their attention to quality ingredients, like the fresh spinach on my favorite pizza.

One of my fondest memories at Donato's was a New Year's Weekend when they served amazing seafood appetizers like bacon-wrapped scallops and oysters Rockefeller.

They particularly praised the shrimp, hushpuppies, fries, and sweet tea.

Red Bowl

Hornet roll at Red Bowl

I absolutely adore Red Bowl!

As someone who lives nearby, I can't count the number of times I've enjoyed a meal at this Japanese restaurant.

It's a family favorite, especially for my kids, who can be quite picky eaters.

They offer an extensive menu that caters to different tastes, even for my little ones.

One of the things I love about Red Bowl is the attention to detail.

I remember going there on Valentine's Day, and they went all out with decorations.

There were balloons, and each table even had a cute glow ball.

It was a heartfelt touch that showed how much they value their customers.

I've finally found my favorite hot and sour soup at Red Bowl after years of searching for one that reminds me of my childhood.

Their sushi is also incredibly fresh, beautifully crafted, and packed with flavors.

Some of my personal favorites are the Hornet roll, Crazy Tuna roll, and the Rainbow roll.

I've been impressed by how seriously they take cleanliness, especially during these uncertain times.

On one of my visits, I saw them cleaning everything, including wiping down the walls!

It's comforting to know that they're dedicated to providing a safe dining environment.

Reynosa Restaurant and Grocery

Tacos at Reynosa Restaurant and Grocery

I recently stumbled upon a hidden gem - Reynosa Restaurant and Grocery, a Mexican restaurant that's been open for about 5 years now.

I'm always excited to try new places and support local mom-and-pop establishments, so I decided to give it a shot.

This wonderful Central American restaurant and market offers a variety of specialty staple items that originate from different Central American countries.

The seating capacity is limited, but the place is cozy and comfortable.

I noticed that the bathrooms were spotless and smelled clean, and there was plenty of parking space available in the lot outside.

I ordered 3 pupusas - the revueltas and the loca options.

The revueltas came with beans, cheese, and chicarron, and had a delightful flavor.

The loca option was a unique menu item that included loroco, a Central American flower bud, which added an interesting and delicious twist to the dish.

Their curtido, which is a vinegar-based coleslaw, was absolutely delicious.

I also tried the sopa de res, a beef soup filled with beef chunks, corn, cabbage, carrots, squash, and yucca.

It was served piping hot and was perfect for the chilly weather outside.

It was absolutely delicious, and I enjoyed a few cups of coffee along with it.

This diner has become my go-to spot for good and fresh food.

All the meat they serve is top-of-the-line, and their service is always outstanding.

One time, my partner and I were really hungry after walking around at the MSV, and it was around 1:30 pm when we walked in.

We both ordered the steak & cheese with fries, which turned out to be delicious!

Sona Restaurant

A variety of Indian curry served at Sona Restaurant

I have to say, discovering Sona Restaurant in my neighborhood was a pleasant surprise!

This cozy, independently owned gem offers mouthwatering North Indian cuisine in a warm, traditional setting.

I still dream about their garlic cauliflower, and I can't help but crave their Chicken Korma with garlic naan every now and then.

Eating at Sona is always a delightful experience – the service is top-notch, the food is insanely good, and I never leave feeling uncomfortably stuffed.

The freshness of the ingredients is evident in every bite, and I can't recommend this restaurant enough to fellow food enthusiasts.

Chinatown Restaurant

Whenever I'm in the mood for some delicious Chinese-American cuisine, my go-to spot in Winchester is always Chinatown Restaurant.

I absolutely love the modern and chic atmosphere they've created in their space, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.

One of the highlights of Chinatown for me is their sushi selection.

Trust me, it's a must-try!

I also have a special place in my heart for their chicken lettuce wraps – they are unlike any other I've tasted elsewhere.

I also appreciate the vegan options they offer, as it ensures that everyone in my group can find something they'll love.

I've noticed some recent changes in the restaurant, like the removal of their buffet, but I'm glad to see that the quality of their food remains top-notch.

Their menu might not be as extensive as some other Chinese restaurants, but the dishes they do serve are always well-prepared and delicious.

Red Fox Creamery

Whenever I'm in the mood for a sweet treat, I always head to my favorite spot, Red Fox Creamery.

Not only do they have incredibly creamy and delicious ice cream made right on the premises, but they also offer a wide variety of other tasty treats like freshly baked cookies, chocolates, and truffles.

Plus, they have a cafe menu with soups and sandwiches for those days when I want something more substantial.

The atmosphere at Red Fox Creamery is cozy and artistic, making it the perfect place to catch up with friends or enjoy a quiet moment alone.

Although the prices are a bit on the expensive side, I don't mind splurging on their heavenly cookies and cream milkshake, which is worth every penny.

They always welcome me with a smile and seem genuinely happy to see me.

Although the place could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness (looking at you, dusty ceiling fan) and flavor in their cafe menu, I keep coming back for their amazing ice cream and the overall enjoyable experience.

Pot-O-Pho Vietnamese Grill

Pot-O-Pho Vietnamese Grill has become one of my go-to spots for a delicious and comforting meal.

I stumbled upon this gem here and decided to give it a try.

I usually order the beef Pho, which has a rich and flavorful broth that tastes even better with a touch of Sriracha and jalapeño from the side plate.

Their Vietnamese iced coffee is a must-try as well, and it's perfect for washing down the meal.

Mr Noodle & Rice

I recently visited Mr Noodle & Rice for the first time with my spouse, and I have to say, it was truly a memorable experience.

The food at Mr Noodle & Rice was absolutely fantastic.

We tried their sushi, which tasted incredibly fresh and delicious, and we couldn't get enough of it.

The other dishes, like the bulgogi fried rice and egg roll, were equally delectable and left us craving more.

The restaurant itself is quite small, so I'd suggest visiting during off-peak hours to avoid feeling crowded.

Chop Stick Cafe

Sushi at Chop Stick Cafe

A few weeks ago, my friends and I decided to give Chop Stick Cafe a try, and we were not disappointed!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere with an intimate setting and unique decor.

We were seated at the sushi bar, which was perfect for our group since we were eager to try their sushi offerings.

We also noticed that they had Thai entrees, housemade desserts, bubble tea, and microbrews on their menu, which was a pleasant surprise.

We started with some appetizers, including spring rolls and a salad.

The spring rolls were larger than expected, and the dipping sauce was absolutely delicious.

As for the sushi, it was fresh and flavorful, which instantly became a favorite among us.

For our main dishes, we tried the chicken massaman curry and the steamed duck.

The curry was hands down the best I've ever had, while the duck was tender and full of flavor.

The portion sizes were generous, making the prices well worth it.

Despite how busy the restaurant was, our food came out piping hot and relatively quickly.

We even managed to squeeze in some housemade dessert, which did not disappoint.

Pho Bistro Winchester

The moment I stepped into Pho Bistro Winchester, I knew I found the perfect spot for Vietnamese cuisine.

I've visited multiple times, and I must say that their spring rolls, garden rolls, and rice vermicelli are absolutely delicious.

And if you're looking for the best Pho in town, look no further.

They also offer a delightful mix of Mediterranean dishes, with the chicken marsala being a standout.

Pair it with their mushroom marsala sauce and couscous with apple, and you'll be in for a treat.

They have a decent selection of wine and beers, providing a great dining experience for adults.

With both indoor and outdoor seating available, the atmosphere is usually inviting.

50/50 Taphouse

Burger and fries at 50/50 Taphouse

One of my favorite spots around the downtown walking mall of Winchester is 50/50 Taphouse.

The unique selection of burgers and the impressive craft beer menu keep me coming back for more.

The industrial-chic atmosphere, complete with pool, foosball, and patio seating, makes it a perfect place to hang out with friends or enjoy a date night.

I love trying out different burgers from their extensive menu, which ranges from the classic hamburger to the exotic Elvis burger.

Some of my personal favorites are the George Washington, the Crunchy and Funky, the Gouda, and the Hawaiian.

I even dared to try the BBQ Mac and Cheeseburger from their extreme menu – and it was worth every extra penny!

Not to mention, their salads are large and wonderful, and I truly feel like I'm getting my money's worth every time I eat here.

The beer sampler allows me to taste a variety of craft beers, and I've never been disappointed.

One of the best aspects of 50/50 Taphouse is that it is family and pet friendly, so I can bring my kids and even my furry friend along.

With billiards, trivia, and shuffleboard inside, there's always something fun to do while enjoying delicious food and drinks.

I can say without a doubt that I'll be visiting 50/50 Taphouse a thousand more times in the future.

It's a prime spot in the area and a must-stop for any local or visitor looking for great burgers and beers.
