It's truly a fine-dining experience right in the heart of Surprise.
I particularly enjoy their outdoor seating.
There's nothing quite like enjoying a glass of wine under the starlit Arizona sky.
The food, of course, is the star of the show.
We tried the drunken shrimp and their pretzel bread, and we were blown away.
We've also tried our own version of surf and turf by ordering the short ribs and fish and chips.
Their current reserve wine, in particular, is simply out of this world.
We were so impressed that we even joined their wine club.

I remember ordering the Grilled Hamachi for starters, and oh boy, it was seasoned to perfection and so tender that it melted in the mouth.
The Gyoza was another delight, absolutely bursting with flavor.
But the star of the evening was definitely the Salmon Bento Box and the Unagi Bowl for the main course.
The bento box had the perfect balance of flavors, while the deconstructed eel sushi roll in the Unagi Bowl was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece.
They were consistently attentive, making sure we were comfortable and had plenty of water.

Coupled with a bagel, it was one of the more memorable meals I've had.
The diner shines on its good days too.
The Greek chicken wrap, with its plush chicken filling and tantalizing lime rice soup, is a must-try.
Pita Wraps
You know that feeling when you walk into a place and instantly feel at ease?
That's exactly what I felt when I walked into Pita Wraps.

There's also an olive oil citrus cake that I can't get out of my mind.
I also noticed that they host live music on occasion; it's definitely on my list for the next visit.

But don’t get me wrong, there are still plenty of good things about Salad and Go.
For example, when I first moved here a few months ago, I tried their Jalapeno Ranch salad.
It was so good that I found myself coming back for more the next day.
Their salads are fresh, and the portion sizes are large enough to make two meals out of one.
Their service is quick and friendly, and despite the occasional line, they always manage to serve everyone in a timely manner.

Most recently, I had the eggplant Parmesan sandwich, and it was out of this world.
All the ingredients tasted fresh, the bread was perfect, and they didn't skimp on the eggplant.
The sandwich alone is a trip worth taking.
Pizza, though, is the real star of Little Sicily.
The thin crust is just right, crispy, and full of flavor.
They certainly don't skimp on the toppings, which are fresh and plentiful.
The sauce is just incredible - a little tangy, a little sweet, and perfectly balanced.
It's a pizza experience like no other.
Sure, I've read some negative reviews likening the pizza to cardboard, but in my experience, that's far from the truth.
And the fact that my kids can't stop talking about the pizza the next day tells me everything I need to know.
I'd wager those folks haven't tasted the Chicago-style deep dish I had.
It was so well-presented I almost didn't want to eat it.
Amigos Authentic Mexican Grill and Bar
I've been on a quest, a mission if you will, to locate the perfect sopapilla in the city.

The sopapillas here are absolutely out of this world - pillowy soft and delicately dusted with the optimal balance of cinnamon and sugar.
And the best part?
They are paired perfectly with whipped cream and honey.
They're not the typical fried bread variety you'd find elsewhere, these are soft, light, and tender.
We also indulged in their fried ice cream, a delight when enjoyed inside our sopapillas, a concoction that tasted like heaven on a plate.
Not only sweets but their savory dishes are equally enticing.
We tried their sampler with mini chicken chimis, beef taquitos, cheese quesadilla, and nachos, and it was more than enough for us two adults.
But let me tell you about their tortilla soup - it's a revelation!
Jam-packed with yellow squash, zucchini, potato, carrot, onions, cilantro, cheese, tortillas bits, and plentiful chunks of tender chicken.
I've decided that this soup will be my standard order every time I visit.
Their service is top-notch.

We had been roaming around the zoo all day and were famished, but the excellent service and delicious, fresh food at Amigos Authentic Mexican Grill and Bar satiated us perfectly.
We hardly had any wait time, and the food arrived within minutes.
The portions were just right and filled us up nicely.
Ben's Pizza
Oh, how I wish I had discovered Ben's Pizza sooner!
A change in their delivery policy finally pushed me to venture out, and boy, was I in for a surprise.
From my first bite, I knew I had been missing out.
The pizza and calzones were simply sensational, the portions generous, and the prices - a delightful surprise.
I was hooked.
And just like that, my household became a regular at Ben's.
It's the pizza that makes an impression.
The crust has just the right crunch, and the toppings, oh, the toppings!
They're spread out just right, ensuring every bite is a party in your mouth.
Haldi Indian Cuisine
Every neighborhood in our city has its own gem, and ours is undoubtedly Haldi Indian Cuisine.
Nestled next to the Sprouts Market, it's the oasis amidst a desert of fast food chains, offering a delightful culinary journey through traditional Indian flavors.
As a vegetarian, it's often challenging to find a place that offers variety.
But Haldi has done justice to my palate with a plethora of vegetarian dishes.
The freshness of the vegetables is tangible in every bite, and the combination of nuanced spices transports you to the heart of India.
The naan bread is simply delicious, a perfect accompaniment to their array of savory curries.
Recently, I decided to order their food through Ubereats for a change of scenery, and I was pleasantly surprised.
They took such care with the packaging.
Everything was double-sealed, ensuring that the food arrived hot, fresh, and, most importantly, intact.
Tap House Sports Grill
As someone who lives nearby, I've had my fair share of meals at the Tap House Sports Grill.
Over time, I’ve grown fond of their generous menu.
An old favorite from the previous joint – the BELT sandwich, a delicious combination of bacon, egg, lettuce, and tomato, has been retained.
You can even throw in an egg upon request, which I often do.
Now, here's the kicker - they use shredded lettuce.
Now you might be thinking, "So what?
" Well, in my opinion, shredded lettuce should only be used in tacos.
Nowhere else.
The oil-soaked sourdough bread might be a turn-off for some, but it's alright for an occasional visit.
My verdict on the BELT?
It's okay, but I had high expectations.
On the flip side, their side tater tots are phenomenal - golden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned.
Paired with an Arnold Palmer, it's a treat.
But a word of caution – be patient if you’re coming during busy hours.
Don't get me wrong, though; there are plenty of reasons to love Tap House.
Their burgers, for example, are a revelation.
I’ve been on the hunt for a good Swiss, mushroom, and bacon burger in the west valley for quite some time, and Tap House seems to be the answer.
And who can forget the Cowboy Burger loaded with barbecue sauce?
An absolute winner!
