A special note to all the NY-style pizza lovers out there, ElMar's is a must-visit.

I even started to plan my daily lunch here, that's how enthralled I was by their pizzas.

Northern Taphouse- Plymouth

Northern Taphouse- Plymouth has gradually become my favorite spot to grab a hearty meal.

Their chicken chopped salad with blue cheese dressing is a must-try, while the May special coconut shrimp with mixed greens also doesn't fail to tantalize the taste buds.

Portions are generous, making it a great place for shared dining.

The creamy tomato soup is no less than a treat for your palate, with its rich flavors and smooth texture.

The place is also well-equipped with TVs, making it a fantastic spot for sports enthusiasts.

Their pizzas are delightful and help balance out any minor food disappointments.

Northern Taphouse- Plymouth also impresses with its drink offerings.

They make an excellent bloody Mary and the happy hour specials add to the overall dining experience.

Its location is another plus - just off the freeway, making the access seamless.

Original Pancake House

Their no-frills approach is quite appealing.

You walk in, place your order, and within ten minutes, you're handed a bag of piping-hot food.

Yet, it's not just the speed that impresses me, but the quality of their offerings.

Though not strictly authentic Chinese, their dishes cater to the American palate with a heavily meat-laden menu.

Even the beef broccoli, which I often order, tips the scales in favor of meat over greenery.

Now, don't get me wrong.

I love a good amount of rice in my meals, but the ratio they provide gives the impression you're in for a meaty feast.

So, I usually supplement my food with some home-cooked rice to balance it out.

But that’s just me, a local with a hearty appetite for rice, tweaking my meals a bit.

The freshness of their ingredients is what stands out in every dish.

Whether it's the crispy orange beef or the vegetable fried rice, the flavors are vibrant, and the portions are generous.

And, oh, their eggrolls and wings are simply delicious.

The service is quite impeccable too.

Paired with crispy onions and crimini mushrooms, this dish has the perfect blend of texture and flavors - a little crunch, a little softness, and a lot of deliciousness.

But what really sets it apart is the smoky chipotle crème attached to it.

Savory and full-bodied, it compliments the steak in an unexpected but immensely enjoyable way.

Next on the menu for me is usually the Chipotle Chicken Burrito - a dish that could feed an army!

I kid you not, this burrito is massive and smothered with so much queso that you might need a shovel to dig in!

The chicken is marinated with a house-made chipotle sauce, giving it a robust and smoky flavor.

The burrito's filling - jasmine rice, corn & black bean salsa - adds a fantastic depth of texture to every bite.

I still remember the Hot Honey Chicken & Waffle sliders I ordered on my first visit.

My partner decided to go with the Lobby Mac & Cheese - the lobster was cooked to perfection.

And let’s not forget about their bourbon BBQ sauce, it added a fantastic kick to the meal.

It is a bit on the pricier side, but I believe the quality and taste justify the cost.

It’s good, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

One thing I can't ignore about this place is the fantastic service.

I once visited just a minute before the kitchen was about to close, yet they were still gracious enough to serve us - with a smile, too!

That's what I call stellar service.

Benedict’s (Wayzata)

There's an undeniable charm to starting your day at Benedict's located in Wayzata.

It's a modern diner that offers more than your everyday breakfast experience.

Here, you'll discover American fare served with a twist in a trendy atmosphere that somehow also feels cozy.

We often head to Benedict's on a weekend morning after a leisurely stroll around the bay area.

Yes, it can be pretty busy, and they don't take reservations, but the wait is always worthwhile.

On a good day, you just might be able to find a spot in under 40 minutes for a party of four.

My personal favorite is the California Benedict, an absolute delight for vegetarians like me.

It comes laden with avocado, chiles, and spinach, not to mention the sweet potato hash browns that I simply can't resist.

If you're not a vegetarian, there are plenty of other options.

A friend of mine swears by their Bloody Mary, which apparently hits all the right notes with its dill vodka and a unique garnish of ham, cream cheese, and asparagus.

You can also find healthier choices like the keto hash, a crunchy blend of cabbage, and egg.

Benedict’s isn’t just about the food, though.

It's also about the ambiance – bright, lively, and modern, yet with the warmth of wooden interiors and cozy booths where you can have a private conversation.

Josefina (Wayzata)

My partner and I are always on the lookout for new places to try out.

This time it was the turn of Josefina.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary there, and it turned out to be an excellent choice!

From the moment we walked in, it was clear that Josefina was a place crafted with a lot of thought and attention to detail.

It's a beautifully designed restaurant with a hip and cool vibe to it.

We started off with their unique cocktails.

I must say, each one was a delight, completely different from anything we'd tasted before.

The focaccia bread was delicious - so much so that we ended up ordering a second batch.

For the main course, we had the pork chop, which was cooked to perfection - tender and full of flavor.

But the real showstopper was the dessert.

The chocolate mousse was something I couldn't get enough of.

The service was top-notch.

I also loved the fact that this place caters to different dietary preferences.

Josefina also has a beautiful patio environment that we discovered on our way out.

The greenery was a refreshing sight, adding to the overall allure of the place.

6Smith (Wayzata)

6Smith has been one of my go-to places for a relaxed evening out.

This restaurant, with its prime lakefront location, offers a serene setting that's hard to resist.

The spacious patio gives you the perfect opportunity to enjoy your New American meal while taking in the breathtaking views of the lake.

One of my favorite experiences at 6Smith was when I decided to treat myself to some seafood.

The seared scallops and Chilean Sea bass I ordered were fantastic.

The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the sea bass was simply mouthwatering.

And the service?

Simply top-notch.

Another memorable meal at 6Smith was when I had a client dinner.

The octopus, calamari, and beef tartar served as appetizers were exceptional.

The main course - scallops with sides of Brussels sprouts and cauliflower - was superb, leaving both me and my client impressed.

And the desserts?

Let's just say the 50 Shades of chocolate cake and red velvet left us wanting more.
