Ever since I heard about Alma Bistro, Cocina Latina, opening in town, I couldn't wait to try it out.
I've been a longtime fan of their sister restaurant, Don Rene Taqueria, in Milford, so I had high expectations.
I must say Alma Bistro exceeded my expectations.
The Alma Latin Bistro website does not do this place justice!
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the understated elegant décor.
To start off, I shared the guacamole and black bean hummus with my friends.
Both were exceptional, with the guacamole being well-balanced and leagues above others I've tried.
The black bean hummus was so good that we asked to take the leftovers home, something I've never done before with a side dish.
One dish that will keep me coming back is the Tuna tostada.
The combination of miso, ginger, sesame oil, and avocado with fresh tuna was simply amazing.
So good, in fact, we ordered a second one.
The grilled octopus also caught my eye, and I was not disappointed.
Cooked to perfection and served with onions, celery, heirloom potatoes, and smoked pepper puree, this dish will definitely be a staple for me whenever I visit.
Another unexpected hit was the Kale Caesar salad with Cotija cheese and sunflower seeds.
I'm not usually a fan of kale, but this baby kale was delicious.
Not to mention, the Birria Taco from Don Rene Taqueria is also available at Alma, and it brought back memories of homemade beef stew from my childhood.

I had the chance to try several dishes: Dan Dan noodles, spring rolls with chili dipping sauce, pork dumplings with Szechuan chili sauce, Tonkotsu Ramen, and braised beef fan.
Each dish was delicious, fresh, and flavorful, leaving us truly satisfied.
The fried buns for dessert were also a must-try – puffy, hot, and soft, and accompanied by the perfect dipping sauce that wasn't too sweet.
Taco Tequila Taqueria
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taco Tequila Taqueria with a group of friends, and it was such a fantastic experience.
From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the authentic and rustic décor featuring sugar skulls, which truly added to the overall ambiance of the place.

My family and I started with empanadas and tostones rellenos as appetizers, and they were scrumptious.
The taste and quality of the food at La Calle Arepas Bar was so good that I didn't mind the upcharge too much.
Haruki Ramen & Izakaya
One of my favorite spots in town for a satisfying meal and good vibes is Haruki Ramen & Izakaya.
I stumbled upon this gem a while back and immediately fell in love with its authentic Japanese food and cool atmosphere.
Their drink options are plentiful, and I can't resist trying something new every time I visit.
The appetizers and salads may be small in portion size, but they pack a punch in terms of flavor and uniqueness.
The ramen broth is always fresh and tasty, with the Tonkotsu being my personal favorite.

I ordered tilapia with seafood sauce and an appetizer of empanadas and cheese cornbread.
The portions were huge, and I ended up taking some home for another full meal!
The food was very flavorful and definitely reminded me of my travels to Colombia.

This unique style of pizza is super thin and crispy, making it a refreshing change from the usual pizza places.

I recently decided to try out La Picante Fine Foods, a newly opened restaurant in our local mall.
Being inquisitive and always eager to try freshly made dishes, I went there with some friends and family.
The place is small and cozy, featuring counter service and a space nearby with tables.
I was excited to try their homemade tagliatelli and was pleased when it was served up relatively quickly, nice, and hot.

It seems like this place is a local favorite, so be prepared for a bit of a wait.
However, from my experience, it's worth it for the delicious food and great atmosphere.
Valencia Luncheria
Valencia Luncheria has become one of my go-to spots for delicious Venezuelan cuisine.
From the moment you step into the relaxed cafe, you can tell that it's a special place.
The food is always outstanding, and the service is consistently on point.

Just the other day, I decided to grab some tacos at Taqueria Castillos.
I've heard mixed reviews about this place, but I wanted to see it for myself.
They took my order promptly and courteously.
I ordered a variety of tacos, including the carnitas, as I heard they were the best in Norwalk.
I was not disappointed!
The carnitas were indeed flavorful and perfectly seasoned, just as others had described.
I also enjoyed the grilled onions that were added to the tacos, which added a nice touch.
Rincon Taqueria
Ever since I discovered Rincon Taqueria, it has become my go-to spot for Mexican food in the area.

If you're looking for an incredible and unique dining experience in Norwalk, I highly recommend you visit Aji 10.
The Peruvian cuisine they serve is truly the best I've tasted in the area.
If you're lucky, you might get the chance to meet them!
Every dish I've tried at Aji 10 has been spectacular.
Their ceviche, yucca, and calamari salad are must-tries.

I recently dined at Paella Tapas Wine Bar Restaurant, a hidden gem in my neighborhood.
