Philosophia

Dining at Philosophia last night was an experience to remember.

The moment I stepped inside, I was transported to Santorini with its beautiful interior design.

The menu offered a variety of unique and delicious Greek and Mediterranean dishes with a touch of American seasoning.

My partner and I decided to try about eight different plates, and each one was a masterpiece.

The seafood options were particularly outstanding.

To top it off, the wine list was incredibly diverse, featuring some of the most exquisite Greek wines I've ever tasted.

It's no wonder this unassuming strip mall has become a hub for some of Mount Pleasant's best culinary experiences.

H & R Sweet Shop

I can't believe I've been living in Mt. Pleasant for years and only recently discovered the gem that is H & R Sweet Shop.

Last week, I decided to give this unpretentious eatery a try, and I was blown away by the whole experience.

As soon as I walked in, I felt like I had been transported back in time with the blues music playing and the charming, old-school atmosphere.

I was greeted by an older gentleman in a fedora and suspenders, who took my order for a burger with grilled onions.

He also convinced me to try their freshly made onion rings, and I'm so glad he did!

The onion rings were some of the best I've ever had, and the burger was insanely delicious, piled high with grilled onions.

I couldn't help but notice the other customers enjoying their meals as well, with one person raving about their baked pork chop and lima beans.

I can't wait to return and try more of their menu items, especially knowing that this place has been serving the community for over 40 years.

Toni's Detroit Style Pizza

I've been living in this town for quite a while now, and finding a great pizza place has always been a challenge.

That being said, after trying Toni's Detroit Style Pizza, I knew I had found my local go-to spot!

The restaurant itself is filled with Detroit nostalgia, making it a unique dining experience.

I went there with four other friends, and we all appreciated the military discount they offered.

The small pizzas at Toni's come with four hearty slices of buttery, crispy thick crust – simply amazing!

It was hard for any of us to finish a small pizza on our own.

I ordered a small "Super" pizza which had pepperoni, ham, onion, mushroom, and green peppers.

Cachita's Kitchen

As someone who lives in the town, I've had the pleasure of eating at Cachita's Kitchen quite a few times.

My first experience was grabbing a couple of tacos and a burrito, and I have to admit, I was a little underwhelmed by the burrito's size and flavor.

However, after giving it another shot and trying their other menu items, I've become a huge fan!

The Mexican Cuban was a real game-changer for me. It was flavorful and simply fantastic.

I also had the opportunity to try their Cachitacos, Mulitas, and the Cachi Dip Trio during dinner with friends, which turned out to be an amazingly wonderful meal.

The tacos and burritos here are some of the best around.

The Grit Counter

I recently decided to try out a new place for brunch called The Grit Counter.

I've heard good things about it from friends, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I arrived on a busy weekend morning, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fast service and the beautiful presentation of their dishes.

Since I'm not a regular grits eater, I took a chance and ordered the Brunch Bowl, which came with jalapeño cheddar grits and thick chunks of pork belly bacon.

The flavors were amazing, and it was definitely a step up from the regular grits I've had before.

My partner went for the Ranchero Bowl, which had a delightful chorizo flavor and a fresh green salsa.

We both loved each other's dishes so much that we ended up swapping halfway through!

My son, meanwhile, opted for the Charleston hot chicken sandwich, and he thoroughly enjoyed the juicy chicken with just the right amount of kick.

In addition to the main dishes, we also shared a side of fried pickles, which were generously portioned and absolutely delicious.

The peach tea was a refreshing accompaniment to our meal, with the self-serve counter making it easy to get refills on the lemonade and teas.

The Pickled Palate

I recently decided to try out The Pickled Palate for lunch, and I must say it has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Mt. Pleasant.

The cafe offers delicious paninis, salads, craft beer, and wine, making it a perfect place for a casual meal with friends or family.

One of the best parts about this quaint cafe is its spacious garden patio, ideal for enjoying the lovely Charleston weather.

Upon entering, I was immediately drawn to the cozy and inviting atmosphere.

I opted for the French dip panini, while my friend chose the Cuban.

Both sandwiches were absolutely divine, and we couldn't help but share them with each other.

To top it off, they make their own pickles, which were a fantastic accompaniment to our meal.

The garden patio area is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a relaxing spot to dine despite its proximity to a main road.

During my visit, there was live music playing, which added to the overall ambiance of the cafe.

The Fish & Chippy

Living in the neighborhood, I am always on the lookout for a delicious spot to grab a bite.

When I discovered The Fish & Chippy, I knew I had found something special.

This classic fish and chip shop has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat, and I recommend it to all my friends and family.

Their portions are generous, and the batter is light, crispy, and not greasy.

I have tried their shrimp and fried Mac and cheese balls, and they were absolutely scrumptious!

Not to mention, their fish and chips have always received rave reviews from my companions.

Also, if you're a beer enthusiast, you'll be pleased to find a great selection of UK beers and local craft beers.

Another thing I appreciate about The Fish & Chippy is their grilled fish options.

One evening, my family and I were craving some delicious Italian food, and we decided to try out Pizza Pazzo.

We were pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming atmosphere as we walked in.

My partner wanted pasta, but we learned it's only served during lunchtime.

So we tried their lasagna pizza and fried rice balls, which were both incredible.

Overall, our night at Pizza Pazzo was a delightful experience and a wonderful discovery in our place.

Square Onion

Square Onion is a contemporary American cafe in the neighborhood.

I had heard good things about their elevated sandwiches, salads, and ice cream, so I figured it was about time I checked it out myself.

I walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member who helped me navigate their menu, eventually settling on the buffalo shrimp wrap.

They didn't offer a half sandwich/half salad combo for that particular item, but I added a side of broccoli salad.

The portion was a little small, but the flavors were great.

My wrap had a lot of lettuce and could have used a bit more sauce, but overall it was substantial and delicious.

I also noticed they offer take-home and baked meals, which looked interesting, and I'll definitely consider trying next time.

As I was leaving, I couldn't resist grabbing a scoop of their ice cream, which turned out to be a fantastic decision.

It was the perfect sweet ending to my visit.

Langdon's Restaurant & Wine Bar

Every now and then, you stumble upon a restaurant that leaves a lasting impression and keeps you coming back for more.

For me, that's Langdon's Restaurant & Wine Bar.

The moment you step into Langdon's, you're greeted with a contemporary and elegant ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

I remember when I first visited Langdon's on Valentine's Day without reservation.

Luckily, the kind hostess told us about the first-come, first-served bar seating.

The real star of the show, though, is the food.

Langdon's offers refined takes on classic Southern cuisine, and their acclaimed wine list is the perfect accompaniment.

The Beef Tartare and Duck Breast I tried were out-of-this-world delicious, and the Oysters Rockefeller are hands down the best I've ever had.

I've also heard rave reviews about their steaks and salmon from friends who have dined here.

The attention to detail extends not only to the food and drinks but also to the cleanliness of the restaurant and the impeccable service.

Langdon's is the perfect place for a special occasion or just a night out when you want to treat yourself to an amazing dining experience.

The Shellmore

Last weekend, I finally got the chance to visit The Shellmore, a cozy wine bar that some friends had been raving about.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed evening with good company.

Upon arriving, we were promptly seated and started to explore their daily changing menu.

It was filled with a variety of salads, cheeses, sandwiches, and small plates.

What caught my eye was their raw bar, which featured some of the freshest oysters I have ever had the pleasure of tasting.

We decided to share a few small plates, starting with the gnocchi and crab salad.

Both dishes were simply divine, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.

We also tried the trout dip, which was a unique and tasty addition to our meal.

To accompany our food, we opted for a bottle of Rioja, which was a fantastic choice.

The wine was smooth and rich, complementing our meal beautifully.

La Pizzeria

La Pizzeria is a cozy, low-key, family-run Italian spot that offers the best brick-oven pizzas and other Italian delights.

The moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm, neighborly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

Last week, I decided to try their lasagna for the first time, and it was truly top-notch!

The flavors were rich, and the serving was generous - definitely worth every penny.

The pizza has never disappointed either - the crust is perfectly crisp, and the toppings are always fresh and tasty.

As someone who grew up with authentic Italian food, I can vouch for the fact that La Pizzeria serves up some of the best Italian cuisine in Charleston.

One thing to note is that La Pizzeria can get quite lively, so if you're looking for a quiet dining experience, this might not be the place for you.

Page's Okra Grill

One of my absolute favorite places to eat in Mount Pleasant is Page's Okra Grill.

Whenever I have friends or family visiting, I make sure to bring them here for a taste of authentic Low Country cuisine.

The atmosphere is casual with a diner feel, yet lively and welcoming.

It might get a bit loud and busy, but that's just part of its charm.

You might have to wait for a table, especially during peak times, but they have a text messaging system that keeps you updated on your wait time, which is quite efficient.

Now, let's talk about the food! The menu is extensive, offering plenty of options for everyone, from classic Southern comfort food to fresh seafood dishes.

I can't get enough of their crab bacon chowder – it's incredibly tasty and filling.

Their seafood platter is another favorite of mine, featuring generous portions that never fail to satisfy my hunger.

And let's not forget about their collard greens, which might just be the best I've ever had.

Page's Okra Grill truly embodies the essence of Charleston and the Low Country, and I'm proud to call it a local gem.

Ty's Roadside Coastal Kitchen

I recently discovered my new favorite spot in Mount Pleasant - Ty's Roadside Coastal Kitchen!

Every single dish I've tried here has been absolutely amazing, fresh, homemade, and delicious.

One of the standout dishes was the beet and goat cheese salad, which was absolutely divine.

Not only is the food remarkable, but the service is top-notch as well.

The menu at Ty's is filled with a diverse array of dishes that go beyond your usual comfort or bar food.

I was blown away by the fire-roasted meatballs, crispy parmesan grits, and the phenomenal coal-roasted beet salad.

If you're a fan of bourbon drinks, make sure to try out their twist on a Manhattan and the Ole Fashion—they're both fantastic and highly recommended!

My partner and I were initially torn between this location and another, but we're so glad we decided on Ty's Roadside Coastal Kitchen.

The Roasted Cauliflower drew us in, but it was the Fire-Roasted Veggie Bowl that left a lasting impression.

This delicious bowl is perfect for those looking for a plant-based (vegan) dish.

Sunrise Bistro Mount Pleasant

One of my favorite weekend rituals is having breakfast at Sunrise Bistro Mount Pleasant.

Not only is it a great way to start my day, but it's also a fantastic spot to catch up with friends and family.

With so many delicious options on the menu, it's no wonder this place has become a local favorite.

The atmosphere is cozy, and it feels like a true hometown spot.

I usually grab a seat near the coffee bar, which is a bonus for any caffeine lover.

The Colombian Brew is my go-to, and it never disappoints.

One of my favorite dishes is the Mediterranean open-faced omelet, which I often customize by adding bacon.

Served with perfectly cooked eggs and a side of breakfast potatoes, this meal is the definition of comfort food.

The portions are generous, and I always leave feeling satisfied.

Another great aspect of Sunrise Bistro is its affordability.

With delicious food, large portions, and $4 mimosas, I feel like I'm getting great value for my money.

Plus, the service is consistently top-notch.

Bon Banh Mi Southeast Asian Kitchen

If you ever find yourself in the mood for some delicious Southeast Asian cuisine, look no further than Bon Banh Mi.

My partner and I have been there three times in just the last two weeks, and each visit has been nothing short of fantastic.

What keeps us coming back? Well, for starters, the food is phenomenal.

We've tried the lemongrass chicken salad, red curry beef, and sticky chicken wings, and they've all been incredible.

But it's not just the food that makes Bon Banh Mi special.

The customer service is exceptional. They even let us sample their impressive selection of draft beers until we find the perfect one!

What really sets Bon Banh Mi apart, though, is the atmosphere.

The moment you step inside, you're transported to a 50's diner with an Asian twist.

The oldies music playing in the background adds a touch of nostalgia and always seems to put us in a great mood.

It's become our go-to spot for date night, and even our picky kids love it.

Boxcar Betty's

Every time I have a craving for an amazing chicken sandwich, I know I can count on Boxcar Betty's to satisfy my taste buds.

As someone who has tried many chicken sandwiches in the Charleston area, I must say that Boxcar Betty's tops the list, hands down.

Their chicken is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and I can't get enough of their bacon jam - it's simply a game-changer.

The first time I visited, I opted for their signature Boxcar sandwich, and it was love at first bite.

I also tried their fried green tomatoes with a delicious thousand island-type dipping sauce, and I was hooked.

Since then, I've introduced friends and family to Boxcar Betty's, and they all agree that it's a must-try when in town.

Their smash burger and sides, like the crispy fries and fried pickles, are also worth trying.

Wood & Grain

I recently decided to treat myself to a night out at Wood & Grain, and I was blown away by the experience.

The moment I stepped into the relaxed, modern setting, I knew I was in for a treat.

I couldn't wait to dig into their locally sourced seafood and creative pizzas prepared in a wood-fired oven.

I started with an appetizer that perfectly balanced sweet and delicate flavors with just a hint of spice.

When my pizza arrived, I couldn't stop eating it until every last bite was gone!

I couldn't leave without trying their cast iron Brookie – a heavenly combination of sweet flavors, hazelnut, and caramel.

As a regular at Wood & Grain, I can confidently say that their oysters, fresh local shrimp, and lobster rolls never disappoint.

Their pizza creations constantly surprise and delight me, making it the perfect spot for my pizza cravings.

Stack's Evening Eats

Stack's Evening Eats is a laid-back café that I've heard a lot of good things about.

Upon entering, I immediately felt welcomed by the cozy and intimate atmosphere, despite its location in a plaza.

I started with the cornbread oysters, which were so tasty and the perfect appetizer.

For the main course, I decided to go with the house-made fettuccini, served with perfectly cooked salmon, zucchini, tomatoes, spinach, olives, and feta.

The combination of flavors was absolutely delightful, and I couldn't resist sopping up the leftover juice with a piece of bread.

My partner had shrimp and grits, which were equally delicious.

Kairos Mediterranean

I recently dined at Kairos Mediterranean and was genuinely impressed by their delicious and healthy food options.

They offer an array of options like pitas, bowls, and salads, with fillings such as falafel and lamb.

I enjoyed a salad bowl with a great combination of Greek-style flavors.

The lamb, chicken, and falafel proteins were all mouthwatering, and their unique iced drinks, like turmeric juice and lavender lemonade, added a refreshing touch to the meal.

I especially loved their tzatziki sauce, which was thick, flavorful, and full of fresh cucumber and garlic – not the watery, mayo-based mess you sometimes find elsewhere.

Even their fries were addicting!

Cuoco Pazzo

Cuoco Pazzo is a trattoria that offers traditional Italian dishes and a wine list in an intimate atmosphere.

I've been there multiple times, and it never fails to impress me.

I'm not usually a huge fan of Italian cuisine, but Cuoco Pazzo has changed my stance on that.

Every dish I've tried here has been delicious and satisfying.

The eggplant rollatini, shrimp and mussel piccatta, fresh papardelle, and chicken marsala are some of my favorites.

On a recent visit, I even brought my dog along, and they were more than accommodating, which I genuinely appreciated.

We dined on their lovely patio, which felt like a peaceful oasis.

From the fresh herbs in the olive oil to the decadent lasagna and tiramisu, every bite of food was phenomenal.

I can't wait to bring my friends here to share this fantastic experience with them.

The one area that could use improvement is the wine selection.

The wines they offer are decent, but I believe the incredible food deserves to be paired with higher-quality wines.

Also, the desserts tend to be a bit too sweet for my taste, but the limoncello cake is absolutely delicious.

Graze Restaurant

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical when I first heard about Graze Restaurant being located in a strip mall, but trust me when I say that you should not let that deter you from trying this amazing spot.

One evening, my partner and I decided to give it a try, and I am so glad we did.

As soon as we stepped inside, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly.

We decided to start with the perogies and cauliflower soup, both of which were delicious and unique.

For our main courses, I had the meatloaf, while my partner opted for the fried pork chops.

The portions were more than generous, and the food was cooked to perfection.

The fried pork chops were incredibly moist inside and crispy on the outside, while my meatloaf was tender and flavorful.

We couldn't leave without trying the pimento mac and cheese, which was a delightful addition to our meal.

And, even though we were pretty full, we couldn't resist ordering a piece of their scrumptious carrot cake to take home and enjoy for dessert later that evening.
