Inside, simplicity reigns.

You can find a chalkboard menu, a couple of tables and chairs, a cooler of canned drinks, and an unpretentious bathroom in the back - all part of the charm is Joe Mo's.

Their menu boasts all-time barbecue favorites - smoked chicken, pulled pork, ribs, sausages, wings - and the sides are exactly what you'd expect from a barbecue place, from baked beans and slaw to potato salad.

One day, when I walked in at their opening time at 11 AM, it seemed like a one-person show was running.

The pulled pork sandwich I had that day was a symphony of flavors, a bang for a buck, a side of chips, and a Pepsi.

Their to-go bags added a quirky touch - that's how they serve everything, whether you're eating in or not.
