Just the other day, I decided to give Mike's Authentic Mexican Food a try after hearing mixed reviews from friends.
You can check out their website here.
For me, the experience was quite pleasant. I ordered a few tacos and found them to be quite delicious.
The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced. The place itself is small and cozy, and I found it to be very clean.
One of the things I enjoyed the most was the friendly and welcoming service I received.
As someone who loves supporting small businesses, I'm glad to have found a place like this in my area.
Pho Lily & Mongolian BBQ
One of my favorite places to eat is Pho Lily & Mongolian BBQ.
The food is consistently mouth-watering, and I must say, their pad Thai shrimp and Boba drinks are absolutely delicious.
I've been to Asia and lived there for over 7 years, so I can confidently say that their Vietnamese dishes have an authentic "hell ya" in flavor.
My personal recommendations are the Lemongrass Beef Bowl, Pad Thai, or Pho.
You'll never go wrong with any of these choices.
Plus, it's one of the few places around here where I can get a Qingdao beer!
They are always friendly and welcoming, even giving us extra items with our to-go orders, such as rice and soup.
R Banquet
So, let me tell you about my experience at R Banquet because it was truly one of the best nights I've had in a long time.
I attended a Varsity Football Banquet there, and from the moment I walked in, I knew we were in for something special.
And, let me just say, the food was out of this world!
They offered a great selection, including red and white pasta, chicken, salad, egg rolls, and some of the freshest homemade bread I've tasted.
Honestly, I can't wait for next season's banquet to return to R Banquet.
Not only was the food excellent, but the venue itself was just incredible.
It's so luxurious and elegant, and even the bathrooms were stunning!
I've heard they also serve the best Indian food in La Habra, so I'll definitely be stopping by for a takeout soon.
The Bagelry La Habra
The Bagelry La Habra has been my go-to place for a quick breakfast or an afternoon snack.
My partner and I have since become regular customers, trying out different bagel combinations and smoothies.
My personal favorite has been the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel with a jalapeño cheddar bagel. It's spicy and very filling!
My partner usually goes for the works bagel with cream cheese.
We both enjoy their smoothies as well.
One thing I particularly appreciate is their strong iced Vietnamese coffee, which is just the perfect drink to start my day.
Their open-face veggie bagel with lemon pepper on a jalapeño bagel is amazing, too, especially when I'm in the mood for something light and healthy.
What I've observed is that they have a good variety of bagels, and they tend to sell out quickly, especially on Sundays around 11:30 am.
So it's always a good idea to drop by early for the best bagel choices!
The interior is cozy, with a few tables occupied by happy customers, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a hearty meal.
Feu Noodle Bar
I simply can't get enough of Feu Noodle Bar!
Ever since I stumbled upon their website, I've been hooked.
As a huge fan of Asian cuisine, this place has become my go-to spot for all my noodle cravings.
Their menu may not be extensive, but trust me when I say that every dish they serve is nothing short of amazing.
One of my favorite dishes from Feu Noodle Bar is their Spicy Buldak Noodles with Cheese Chicken Katsu.
It packs just the right amount of heat, and the flavors are mind-blowing. I also adore their fried egg rolls, which make for the perfect appetizer. Whenever I'm craving something a bit more comforting, I opt for their beef bone pho – the tender meat and rich broth are a match made in heaven.
They're always friendly and accommodating, which makes my dining experience even more enjoyable.
Higo Chicken
Let me tell you about a fantastic dining experience I had recently at Higo Chicken.
I've been hearing great things about this place from my friends, so I decided to give it a try.
As soon as I walked in, I could feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere, even though it was a rainy day.
The lunch special, firewood chicken and spinach pasta was simply amazing!
The skin was incredibly crispy, the seasoning was perfect, and the meat was so tender.
I also tried their unique potato dish with traditional sauce, which was a fantastic appetizer.
Higo Chicken is quite popular around here, so expect a bit of a crowd during lunchtime.
But don't worry – the service is fast, and they are super kind.
After trying various Peruvian restaurants in the area, I can honestly say that Higo Chicken is among the best.
Their Lomo Saltado and Causa dishes are simply delicious.
One of my favorite dishes, Tallarin verde con pollo a la brasa, features delicious green noodles accompanied by juicy chicken.
Another standout dish is the Tallarin Saltado with beef – just make sure to add the green sauce they provide, as it takes the flavor to a whole new level.
Be warned, though; it's a bit spicy!
Chinatown Express
Recently, I decided to check out Chinatown Express, and let me tell you, it was an amazing experience!
During the visit, she would ask if we wanted more meat or vegetables and whether we preferred crispy or soft chicken.
I ended up ordering the orange chicken (crispy), and my partner got the mushroom chicken and mushroom shrimp.
The chow mein was delicious and not salty at all. In fact, none of the food was salty.
We tried another dish and opted for beef broccoli, which quickly became my favorite.
Find them on Google Maps here.
Orange House Take Out
I've been going to Orange House Take Out for quite some time now, and it never disappoints.
Every time I visit, I find myself craving their sushi, which is always super fresh and tasty.
You can find their location here.
Whenever I'm in the mood for something more filling, I opt for their chicken or beef bowls, which are always a solid 10 out of 10.
The fast and courteous service is definitely a plus, and I appreciate that the food is consistently delicious.
A few weeks ago, I went there with my family, and we were all blown away by the friendly and helpful service. T
he food was fresh and delicious, and the prices were very reasonable.
The Green Chile
Ever since I moved to Southern California, I've been on the lookout for authentic Southwestern cuisine, and I recently stumbled upon The Green Chile, a hidden gem that offers the best New Mexico-style dishes in town.
I've taken my friends there for lunch, and we were all impressed by the excellent food and service.
Even though the place was quite busy and we had to wait a few minutes for a table, our food arrived promptly, and every dish was delectable.
The Navajo tacos and sopapillas, in particular, are standout items that I haven't found anywhere else around here. T
heir frybread is incredibly flavorful, and, despite being fried, it doesn't taste overly oily or heavy.
Another favorite of mine is the green chile cheeseburger, which has a perfectly cooked patty and comes with delicious fries.
The portions at The Green Chile are generous, and the ingredients always seem fresh.
Ultramen Japanese Restaurant
I have always been curious about the Ultramen Japanese Restaurant Sushi & Ramen.
After hearing so many positive reviews from friends and colleagues, I finally decided to give it a try.
Trust me; it was worth the wait!
The moment I stepped inside the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
I decided to start my meal with some appetizers - the deep-fried beef and vegetable dumplings (Gyozas), Takoyaki, and vegetable egg rolls.
Each dish was delicious, but my favorite was the Takoyaki, with its soft, gooey center and amazing flavor.
For my main course, I went with the Gengiskhan Roll, which features Mongolian-style beef, onion, asparagus, kale, krab, avocado, cucumber, and a generous drizzle of eel sauce.
The combination of flavors and textures in this roll was heavenly, and the beef was cooked to perfection.
My partner opted for the avocado roll and the spicy salmon roll, both of which were delicious and beautifully presented.
But what really stood out for me was their ramen.
I ordered the vegetable ramen, and I absolutely loved how they pan-fried the veggies before adding them to the broth.
This gave the dish a unique, wok-tossed taste that I couldn't get enough of.
The broth itself was light and flavorful, perfectly complementing the egg noodles.
Higo Sushi Peruvian Fusion
As someone who's always on the lookout for unique dining experiences in my area, I was thrilled to discover Higo Sushi Peruvian Fusion.
This relaxed eatery offers a great mix of sushi, teriyaki, ceviche, and lomo saltado, as well as some Japanese-Peruvian fusion dishes.
My first visit to Higo Sushi was nothing short of exceptional. I arrived around 5:30 PM and opted to sit in their outdoor patio area.
The quality of the food was outstanding, and the presentation was clearly crafted with care.
I particularly enjoyed the crispy rice sushi appetizers and the spicy garlic edamame.
The ceviche was a pleasant surprise, offering a distinct twist that I happily recommend trying.
With a casual dress code and a kids' menu available, it's a welcoming spot for all ages to enjoy a delicious fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine.
Orange Hawaiian BBQ
I recently dined at Orange Hawaiian BBQ, and I must say the food was pretty tasty.
I ordered the Shaka and BBQ Mix, so I could sample their various types of meat.
The chicken, katsu, and short ribs were really good, but I found the beef BBQ to be a bit saltier than I'd liked.
Their spam musubi was okay, but there was just too much rice, in my opinion.
Now, this restaurant isn't a bargain establishment, and they don't claim to be either.
Perhaps my personal taste leads me to feel it's a bit too expensive.
For example, I wanted to order chicken katsu curry, but it wasn't provided as a dish and had to be ordered in two parts with the curry sauce at an extra charge.
However, their pricing is not out of line with other local spots.
They were very nice and pleasant to deal with.
The half-and-half chicken and beef was delicious!
The food was of great quality and only took about 15 minutes to prepare.
Agrusa's Italian Restaurant
There's something about Agrusa's Italian Restaurant that keeps me coming back for more.
Maybe it's the delicious food, the friendly service, or the warm atmosphere that makes me feel right at home.
Whenever I have friends coming into town, I make sure to take them to Agrusa's for an unforgettable dining experience in north Orange County.
I recently went to Agrusa's for a dinner date, and as usual, I was not disappointed.
I ordered my all-time favorite dish – the fettuccine with alfredo sauce and chicken.
The sauce has a distinct flavor that sets it apart from other Alfredo sauces I've tried, and I love how it perfectly coats every strand of pasta.
My favorite part is dipping the garlic bread into the flavorful sauce – so delicious!
Smoke and Fire Social Eatery
I recently visited Smoke and Fire Social Eatery with my family and had a wonderful dining experience.
We enjoyed sitting outdoors near the fountain.
We ordered at the cash register, received a number, and our food was brought out when it was ready.
I went for the 1/2 pound of brisket and fries, and it was absolutely delicious.
The crust on the brisket was divine!
My friend mentioned that their spicy chicken is amazing, but I haven't gotten the chance to try it yet.
One time, I tried their Brisket Burrito, which was incredibly generous in size - definitely enough to share between two people.
The Mac n Cheese inside made it extra cheesy, and it was a heavy, satisfying meal.
My partner has also tried their burger and loved it, describing it as juicy and delicious.
India Restaurant La Habra
Ever since I discovered India Restaurant La Habra, I've been hooked on their incredible Indian cuisine.
This seemingly unassuming restaurant might look like a 'hole in the wall' at first glance, but trust me when I say that their food is simply amazing.
If you're curious, you can check them out on their website.
When I first stepped inside the restaurant, I did notice that the layout could use some improvement.
The kitchen area is open to the dining room, which tends to make the restaurant quite warm.
Prior to trying India Restaurant La Habra, I was a huge fan of Thai food.
But after tasting the phenomenal flavors of Indian cuisine here, I quickly became an Indian food enthusiast.
This place offers a cozy seating area both indoors and outdoors, which is perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family.
Arthur's Coffee Shop
One of my favorite go-to spots for breakfast in La Habra is Arthur's Coffee Shop.
I've been coming to this cozy little cafe since 1984, and it never disappoints me with its classic American breakfast and lunch options.
The cafe has this charming diner-style atmosphere that makes me feel right at home.
The last time I visited Arthur's, I ordered their corned beef hash, which was just as delicious as ever.
My son had the biscuits and gravy, and he couldn't stop raving about it! I have to admit, though, the coffee was a bit watered down on that particular day.
However, the scrumptious food more than made up for it.
What I truly appreciate about Arthur's Coffee Shop is not just the tasty food but also the great service.
Arthur's Coffee Shop even offers sidewalk seating, so you can enjoy your meal al fresco.
Niko Niko Sushi
One of my all-time favorite sushi spots in town is Niko Niko Sushi.
I have been a loyal customer for years, even following them from their previous location.
The unassuming strip-mall locale might not catch your eye at first, but trust me, the food and service are well worth a visit.
You can find their location on Google Maps to satisfy your sushi cravings.
The Mango Ceviche Salad is a personal favorite of mine, while my partner always goes for the Rainbow Roll to enjoy a variety of flavors.
They also offer filling bento boxes, sashimi, and combo platters that could make any sushi lover's day.
But what truly sets Niko Niko Sushi apart is their exceptional customer service.
Akafuji
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Akafuji for my birthday, and I must say it was truly a memorable experience.
I decided to treat myself to the Omakase experience, and I was certainly not disappointed.
Each piece of sushi was expertly crafted and presented.
The atmosphere and ambiance only enhanced the overall experience, making it a perfect way to celebrate.
I've been to Akafuji several times, and while I have noticed that the fish quality seems to be better on weekdays, the quality remains exceptional even later into the weekend.
In my opinion, Akafuji is an excellent spot for sashimi, nigiri, and all things sushi, offering a laid-back and inviting atmosphere.
As a local, I'm glad to have Akafuji nearby for those special occasions or when I'm craving some top-notch sushi.
Spin Sushi & Teriyaki
I've been going to Spin Sushi & Teriyaki for years now, and they never fail to impress me with their great-tasting food and excellent service.
One of my favorite things about this place is the bento box – it's not only delicious, but the price is quite reasonable as well.
I usually give them a call to place an order for pick up.
Their chicken and beef teriyaki is perfect for takeout, and the portions are just right, especially when paired with the sides they offer in their bento boxes.
I've also noticed that their menu has a wide variety of options, so it's easy to find something for everyone when ordering as a group.
I really appreciate how Spin Sushi & Teriyaki prepares their food quickly and without any bad ingredients.
It's a healthy option that my kids and I can enjoy without any guilt.
They have a range of dishes like bowls, rolls, and salads, and they're even willing to make special rolls for my picky eater.
Harbor Mexican Cafe
Harbor Mexican Cafe has always been my go-to spot for authentic Mexican cuisine.
It's a family-owned establishment that's been around for years, and the warm, friendly atmosphere never fails to make every visit feel like coming home.
One of my favorite things about Harbor Mexican Cafe is the fact that the menu offers daily specials, so there's always something new to try.
Their albondigas are absolutely incredible – the meatballs are huge, and the broth is just packed with flavor. The enchiladas, posole, and taco salad are also must-tries, and I simply can't get enough of their carne asada.
I've been coming here for years with my family, and now that I live even closer to the cafe, it's become a more frequent treat.
Honestly, their arroz con pollo and flautas are some of the best I've ever had.
Pho Fula
Last week, I decided to give Pho Fula a try for lunch.
The food was impressive, and I particularly enjoyed the Beef Banh Mi, which was fresh, crispy, and generously stuffed with meat.
I also tried the Rice Noodle Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken, and it was both delicious and satisfying.
Although I initially ordered takeout, I noticed that they had opened up for indoor dining, so I decided to enjoy my meal inside the restaurant.
Burrito Brothers
I have been visiting Burrito Brothers for quite some time now, and it never disappoints.
The place is conveniently located in a strip mall with ample parking, making it easily accessible for a quick lunch or a casual dinner.
As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with the sight of fresh ingredients being prepared right in front of your eyes.
The portions are quite generous, and the food always comes out hot and delicious.
I usually find a seat by the large windows to enjoy the view while I eat, but there's also the option to sit near the TV if you want to catch up on your favorite shows.
One of my favorite things about Burrito Brothers is that they put a unique twist on their menu items.
For example, they use tater tots instead of the typical hash browns in some of their burritos, which adds a delightful crunch to each bite.
The Three Amigos burrito is an absolute must-try!
Arigatto Sushi
One of my favorite spots for sushi in the area is definitely Arigatto Sushi.
I remember the first time I went there; I was a bit hesitant because of the unassuming exterior, but once I stepped inside, I was pleasantly surprised by the bright and casual space.
It has now become a go-to spot for my friends and me, especially when we're craving some delicious all-you-can-eat deals.
I must say that the all-you-can-eat option is a fantastic value for the price. When I first tried it, I was in awe of the seemingly endless variety of sushi available to order.
The mouthwatering rolls are made with fresh ingredients and have just the right balance of flavors and textures.
I particularly love their inventive combinations that add a unique twist to traditional sushi rolls.
The atmosphere at Arigatto Sushi is perfect for a fun night out with friends or even a low-key date night.
The restaurant has this cool, clean ambiance that makes you feel comfortable, and the noise level is just right – not too quiet, but not too loud either.
We always have a great time catching up and laughing over our shared love for sushi.
While the service can be a bit slow at times, it doesn't really bother me because the quality of the food makes up for it.
Mr. Albert Mexican Food
Every time I crave some delicious Mexican food in La Habra, I head straight to Mr. Albert Mexican Food.
I've been a frequent customer for years now, and their dishes never disappoint.
My go-to menu items are always the carne asada fries or the rolled tacos with guacamole.
On some occasions, I also indulge in their carnitas torta, which goes perfectly with a refreshing horchata.
My family and I make it a point to visit Mr. Albert's multiple times whenever we have a vacation in La Habra - it's just that irresistible!
The food is always fresh and hot, with a fair price to go along with it. And did I mention the service?
It's fast and efficient, making it an even more enjoyable experience.
Nazo
Let me tell you about one of my favorite places to grab a bite in the neighborhood, Taco Nazo.
Their fish tacos are simply the best I've ever had! I remember the first time I tried them, I was instantly hooked and have been a regular customer ever since.
The fish and shrimp tacos never disappoint, and the semi-spicy salsa they provide adds the perfect touch.
I often find myself ordering the 8-taco pack, which is always ready within 10 minutes, making it an ideal option for a quick and satisfying meal.
Taco Nazo has been a staple in the community since 1997, and hearing the story of founders Maria and Gilberto makes it even more special.
The nostalgic feeling of their Baja-style Mexican food takes me back to simpler times, and I can truly say that their fish taco is the best meal ever when paired with beans and rice.

My culinary adventures throughout La Habra have allowed me to discover an array of delicious and diverse cuisines.
From authentic Mexican food at Mike's to a comforting bowl of pho at Pho Lily & Mongolian BBQ, and even the unique fusion of Higo Sushi Peruvian Fusion, there is something to satisfy any craving in this lovely city.
