I have tried my fair share of local restaurants.
But nothing compares to the amazing experience I had when I first visited Sister's Cravings Juice Bar and Grill.
I walked in and was immediately greeted with enthusiasm and positivity, which set the tone for my entire visit.
I decided to go with the Jerk Chicken Bowl, which turned out to be a chef's kiss of perfection.
The freshness of the ingredients was unparalleled, and the generous amount of toppings without any up charge was a pleasant surprise.
I could tell that everything was made with love and care, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
The fruit bowls also caught my eye, and I couldn't resist trying one.
It was simply out of this world – so much so that I found myself craving another one later that day.
Although the prices were a bit steep for me to make this a regular lunch spot, I definitely see myself returning whenever I'm in need of a special treat.
Kay's Restaurant
One of my favorite spots to grab a delicious home-cooked meal in town is Kay's Restaurant.
This small, family-owned hidden gem has been serving our community for 37 years.

Even though it can get quite busy at times, I never mind standing in line because I know it's going to be worth the wait.
The good news is that they have an upstairs seating area, which is perfect when the main floor gets a bit too crowded.
I love how they make a lot of their stuff in-house, like the croutons that came with my soup, which seemed to be made of bagel pieces.
They have a great variety of savory and sweet options, as well as a few non-bagel sandwich alternatives.
I absolutely adore their bagels and the warm atmosphere they've created.
Thai Riverside
My favorite new restaurant in the west side of the city has to be Thai Riverside.
I visited this place during its first few weeks of opening and was delighted to see all the tables were taken - a great turnout!
The Shrimp Paradise and spring rolls I tried were absolutely delicious.
I also appreciate the fact that they offer outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the river.
I returned for lunch on another day and ordered the Fancy Chicken, which was excellent.
The pineapple fried rice with chicken and spring rolls I had were very tasty as well.
The food at Thai Riverside is great, and I have yet to try a dish that disappoints.
The mango fried rice, pineapple fried rice, and larb are all excellent.
Milly's Authentic Jamaican Restaurant
I recently stopped at Milly’s Authentic Jamaican Restaurant for lunch, and I must say I was blown away by the amazing flavors and atmosphere.
The dining area was spacious and clean, making me feel comfortable eating at the bar since I didn't want to take up a table all by myself.
As someone who loves Caribbean food and has spent several Christmas holidays on different Caribbean islands, I was thrilled to see curry goat on the menu.
The meal came with red beans and rice, steamed cabbage, and plantains, and the flavors and spices were simply amazing!
I don't know how I hadn't discovered this gem before, but I'm definitely making it a weekly stop.
It's hands down the best lunch I've had in weeks.

One of my favorite places to enjoy a delicious southern comfort BBQ meal would be Bare Bones BBQ in Kingsport.
I ended up stumbling upon this hidden gem about a month ago, and ever since, I've been going back for more!
The service at Bare Bones BBQ is always phenomenal, and the food comes out super fast.
The ribs are tender with just the right amount of smokey flavor, and the prices are more than fair for the quantity and quality of food.
One time I tried their burger, it was excellent too, although it came with a bag of chips, which I wasn't a fan of.
Phil's Dream Pit
As a fan of BBQ, I'm always on the lookout for great local spots, and I came across Phil's Dream Pit on one of my searches.
I decided to give it a try, and let me tell you, it's now one of my favorite places for classic BBQ dishes.
The pulled pork was tender and full of flavor, and I enjoyed the different sauces available.
I tried a few of their sides as well - the hash brown casserole was a standout, and the coleslaw was good too, though pretty typical.
The potato salad was a bit bland for my taste, but the banana pudding more than made up for it.
That dessert was light, fluffy, and packed with vanilla wafers and banana chunks - definitely worth the indulgence.

Italian Village Authentic Pizzeria
One of my go-to spots for pizza in town is the Italian Village Authentic Pizzeria.
I love that they're always willing to go the extra mile for their customers.

They not only accommodated my request, but even went as far as grilling the vegetables, making the pizza taste absolutely delicious.

Just the other day, I decided to grab a bite at Sloopy's Diner, a popular spot for us locals to enjoy jumbo burgers, burritos, hand-dipped ice cream, and shakes.
I've always been a fan of their Sloopy cheeseburger, which comes in 8 oz. or the regular 5 oz. – it never fails to hit the spot, and this visit was no exception.
While waiting for my order, I couldn't help but notice someone indulging in a chili dog that looked absolutely mouthwatering with plenty of ground beef in the chili.
It almost made me reconsider my cheeseburger choice, but I stuck to my guns.
And of course, I couldn't resist adding an order of their nearly perfect onion rings.
Sloopy's menu variety always impresses me – from fish tacos to quesadillas and even a 2-lb burger challenge.
Authentic California Mexican Grill
I was searching for a great Mexican dining spot in my town, and I accidentally stumbled upon the Authentic California Mexican Grill.
I decided to give it a try, and oh boy, was it a fantastic decision!
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I noticed the lovely, clean, and cozy atmosphere.
The family-owned and operated establishment made me feel right at home, making me feel even more excited about trying their food.
Their extensive menu had me spoilt for choice, and I finally settled on the carne asada tacos, the dish that I usually order at any new Mexican restaurant.
To my delight, the food was nothing short of incredible!
The tacos were bursting with flavor, and I could tell they were made with the freshest ingredients.
The service, too, was super fast, which made my dining experience even better.
The prices were very reasonable, and I was genuinely impressed by how much value I received for the money I spent.

Ever since I first visited this cozy restaurant, I've been hooked!

One of my favorite dishes here has to be the Cashew Nut Chicken.
It's hands down the best I've had at any Thai restaurant.

And let me tell you, their Thai Fried Rice with a protein is simply to die for!
Not only did it taste amazing, but I couldn't even finish the generous portion they served.

The Shack
I recently discovered The Shack, a down-home BBQ joint in town, and I have to say, it's become my go-to place for some delicious comfort food.
They've got amazing burgers, wings, and even patio seating for those days when the weather is just too perfect to eat indoors.

The Mustard Seed Café
I recently visited The Mustard Seed Café with my partner, and we were both blown away by the delicious food and friendly atmosphere.
I ordered the chicken salad croissant, and the broccoli cheese soup, while my partner opted for the chili.
We both agreed that the food was some of the best we've ever tasted - the chili didn't even need crackers!
One of the highlights of our meal was the small muffin that came as a garnish on our plates.

Just last week, I decided to finally try out Evelyn's Kitchen Table after hearing so many rave reviews from friends and coworkers.
I must say, they were absolutely right - it's the best breakfast spot in Kingsport!
I was immediately impressed by the menu choices and unique ingredients.
I opted for the Arkansas biscuit with fried pickles, something I've never seen on a menu before, and it was unbelievably good.
She even got excited about the fresh ground beans for their decaf coffee, which I must admit, tasted great.
My dining companion had the Apple Walnut Waffle, and she couldn't stop raving about it.
The restaurant itself was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated.
I didn't try the savory waffle or the grits this time, but after hearing from others about their experience, I will make sure to give them a try on my next visit.
Pop's Restaurant
I must say, living in Kingsport has its perks, and one of the best things about it is Pop's Restaurant!
I was so excited when I found out about this place through their Facebook page.
It has quickly become one of my go-to spots for delicious comfort food.
They have an amazing catfish plate, and I absolutely love their corn nuggets.
It's been so long since I had corn nuggets as good as these.
I've also tried their daily specials, like the chicken casserole on Wednesdays, which was simply delicious.
Don't let the fact that it's attached to a gas station deter you, because the food is nothing like the sketchy stuff you might expect.
Their fried chicken livers are well-cooked and crispy, while the mashed potatoes and gravy are to die for.
Italiano's of Kingsport
One evening, I decided to try Italiano's of Kingsport for the first time.
I had heard good things about their pizza, so I ordered a take-out NY style pepperoni pizza.

To my surprise, the pizza was not as I expected.
The sauce had a great flavor, but there was just too much of it, making the pizza quite soggy.
Additionally, the crust was greasy and flat, nothing like what's pictured on their website or other review photos.
I was quite disappointed, but I thought maybe it was just an off night for them.
Despite my initial experience, I decided to give them another chance, and I'm glad I did.
On my next visit, I tried their authentic Italian calzones, and I was blown away!
The ingredients were fresh, and the crust was thin, crispy, and buttery.
The Main Street Pizza Company
One of my favorite spots to grab some delicious food and drinks in town is The Main Street Pizza Company.
Whenever I have friends visiting or just want to treat myself to a great meal, this is the place I go.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with options to sit downstairs, on the second floor, or even out on the patio.
Sitting at the bar is always a pleasure, as the bartenders are skilled at crafting artisanal cocktails tailored to your preferences.

When it comes to the food, I simply can't get enough.
Some of my personal favorites include the meatball appetizers, the wings, and the pesto pizza.
I've even managed to win over my picky teenage family members with the delicious offerings at Main Street Pizza Company!
Everything from the food to the service, cleanliness, and atmosphere gets a well-deserved 5-star rating in my book.

I cannot believe I had only recently discovered Thai Cuisine hidden away from the main road.
I have to say, it has quickly become one of my favorite spots for Thai food.

The first time I visited, I ordered the Rama Noodles, which was the peanut curry noodle dish I had been craving for months.
The flavors were spot-on and the service was quick, attentive, and friendly.
Since then, I have tried several other dishes, including the basil rice and various noodle dishes.
What I love about this place is that they offer different levels of spice to cater to everyone's preferences.
On special occasions, I indulge in the Crispy Duck, which has the perfect balance of tender meat and crispy skin.
The chicken pad Thai is another favorite of mine, and I usually ask them to add cilantro for an extra punch of flavor.
My spouse and I have even brought out-of-town guests to Thai Cuisine, and they have all raved about the food as well.
The wonton soup at this family-owned business is hands down the best I've ever had.
Fusion at Ridgefields
As someone who lives nearby, I've had the pleasure of dining at Fusion at Ridgefields on multiple occasions, and I must say it has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat in the area.
The honey glazed salmon entrée and fried artichokes appetizer are to die for, and their toxic tonic is a perfect addition to any meal.

I enjoy the beautiful views and the fact that Fusion offers a full-service bar with craft beer on draft and a variety of wines to choose from.
