I recently visited Queens Cuisine, and I must say, it was an amazing experience.

I was looking for a new spot to try some delicious home-cooked dishes and stumbled upon this gem.

The place isn't open for dine-in, but they have an order window right of the main door, which made ordering a breeze.

I decided to give their fried pork chop a try, along with beans, ham, and rice.

The pork chop was cooked to perfection, and the beans were way better than what I had expected.

I also couldn't resist trying their sweet yams, which were absolutely delightful.

The portion sizes were quite generous, so I had plenty to take home for later.

Cafetomas

I can confidently say that Cafetomas is my go-to spot for delicious Latin food.

Just the other day, I brought a coworker with me who had never tried Latin cuisine before, and they absolutely loved it!

The food is always fresh and flavorful, and I personally can't get enough of their house-made green sauce.

The arepas, plantain sandwiches, and flan are all fantastic.

Cafetomas also offers amazing natural drinks like their orange/carrot juice, which I could drink every day of the week.

The ambiance of the place is great, and the friendly service always makes me feel welcome.

Nela, who took my order last time, was so kind and attentive.

I also enjoy the music they play – it's a fantastic mix of the best rock in Spanish.

Shawarma on the Run

The other day, my friends and I decided to give Shawarma on the Run a try, and I must say, it exceeded our expectations.

Being a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine, I was excited to see how this local joint would fare in comparison to my other favorite spots.

We decided to order a mix of items, including Chicken Shawarma, Lentil Soup, and Falafel.

Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor, making it evident that they use fresh ingredients and authentic spices.

One of my friends, who had never tried Middle Eastern food before, was particularly impressed with the Chicken Shawarma.

The tender, well-seasoned meat combined with the perfect blend of spices and sauces made it the best Shawarma we've had in town.

The Lentil Soup and Falafel were equally delectable, leaving us all wanting more.

Another aspect that stood out was the cleanliness of the location, as well as the convenient spot in the shopping mall.

Hurst's Restaurant and Seafood

One of my favorite spots to grab a delicious meal in the city has to be Hurst's Restaurant and Seafood.

Just the other day, I stopped by this amazing place and was blown away by the quality and taste of the food.

I got the gumbo, and let me tell you, it was absolutely heavenly!

My partner opted for the smothered ribs, which they claimed to be one of the best they've ever had.

And, of course, we couldn't leave without trying their cornbread – it was simply perfect.

What truly sets this restaurant apart, aside from their mouthwatering dishes, is the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Plus, with such reasonable prices, it's no wonder that Hurst's Restaurant and Seafood has become a go-to spot for us locals.

Punjabi Dhaba Indian Cuisine #2 Kenner

I had high hopes for the newly opened Punjabi Dhaba Indian Cuisine #2 Kenner.

So when they opened up a new location in Kenner, I thought it was worth giving them another shot.

The buffet was priced at $20 per adult and $13 for a child, and the food was fresh, which I appreciated.

I tried everything on the buffet, but the goat biryani, fresh dosa station, chicken sheekh kebab, and tandoori chicken really stood out.

The best dish, in my opinion, was the daahi Bhala with tamarind sauce - absolutely delicious!

Eastern European Foods

I've been living nearby Eastern European Foods for quite some time now, and I must say, it's my go-to place for stocking up on my favorite Eastern European groceries.

They have an excellent selection of products at very fair prices.

Every time I visit, I find all my staples and even discover some new items to try.

I'm particularly fond of their tea, kvass, and pelmeni, as well as the outstanding cured meats and select dairy products that stay true to Eastern European traditions.

Shishkabob House

I remember the first time I stepped foot into Shishkabob House, craving some delicious Middle Eastern cuisine.

I've been there multiple times since, and they never fail to provide the best service and food.

The hummus, falafel, and kibbeh are simply unbeatable, and I'm a huge fan of their lentil soup and chicken shawarma plate.

While the place may have a somewhat worn-out decor and rickety chairs, it doesn't bother me at all.

The generous portions and flavorful dishes more than make up for the ambiance.

Every time I eat there, I leave feeling satisfied and happy.

Mia's Eatery

Oh, how I love going to Mia's Eatery!

It's one of my favorite spots in town to grab a delicious soul food meal.

Whenever I have friends or family visiting from out of town, I make sure to bring them here for a taste of our local cuisine.

I usually order the fried shrimp plate with greens, rice, and gravy.

It's always so hot and tasty, and the portions are generous.

The seafood platter is another favorite of mine, featuring shrimp, fish, bell pepper, jambalaya, and potato salad.

Everything is cooked to perfection and full of flavor.

One tip I'd give anyone planning to visit Mia's is to arrive early.

They're known to sell out of their popular dishes because the food is just that good!

And don't forget to try one of their mouthwatering desserts – I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Kabob House NOLA

Just the other day, I decided to grab a bite at Kabob House NOLA, and I must say I had an amazing experience!

I couldn't help but notice how they took the time to wipe down tables and chairs right after a customer left, which shows how much they care about cleanliness.

I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap with fresh fries, and it was absolutely delicious!

The flavors were rich and authentic, making it one of the best Mediterranean meals I've had in New Orleans.

What's more, they offer free refills of pita bread, which is always a bonus in my books.

And if you're looking for a tasty appetizer, I highly recommend the grape leaf dish – it was fantastic.

While the prices at Kabob House NOLA are a bit on the higher side, the quality and taste of the food more than make up for it.

Kanno Sushi

I absolutely love going to Kanno Sushi, a hidden gem in Metairie.

This tiny and cozy Japanese restaurant is known for its inventive sushi rolls and friendly service tucked away in a strip-mall setting.

The first time I dined at Kanno, I was initially taken aback by the reservations-only policy.

But I quickly realized that it was well worth the extra step, as the food and service never disappoint.

The fish for the sushi is always fresh and delicious, with the Elvis rolls, Kanno special rolls, and protein rolls being some of my favorites.

Even my family members who aren't sushi fans have enjoyed Kanno's chicken teriyaki dinner, which has a unique sweet and slightly spicy taste.

They are very knowledgeable and aren't afraid to make recommendations, which has led me to discover the delicious albacore kimchi salad.

The Sashimi deluxe offers great value and an incredible variety of buttery, melt-in-your-mouth fish.

Desi Vega's Seafood and Prime Steaks

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Desi Vega's Seafood and Prime Steaks, and it was an unforgettable experience.

The food was out of this world, with the rib-eye steak being a standout.

It was cooked to perfection and practically melted in my mouth.

The BBQ shrimp and crème brûlée were also top-notch, and the portion sizes were quite generous.

Even my grandmother couldn't stop raving about her steak the entire ride home and called the next day to continue praising the chefs after enjoying her leftovers.

The cocktail selection at Desi Vega's is also worth mentioning.

I tried a few of their dessert cocktails, and they were divine.

Acropolis Cuisine

One of my favorite spots to grab a delicious Greek and Mediterranean meal is Acropolis Cuisine in Metairie, Louisiana.

It may be a small, casual strip-mall restaurant, but don't let that fool you!

Every single time I visit, I am blown away by the big portions and amazing flavors.

Not to mention, they also have a full bar which is perfect for a relaxing night out.

The last time I went, I couldn't help but order their fantastic spinach and cheese pie with marinara sauce.

It was absolutely mouth-watering!

Of course, my all-time favorite dish has to be their Acropolis salad.

It's so fresh and flavorful and easily the highlight of my day whenever I have it.

My partner and I love their gyros as well.

The meat is always perfectly crispy, and the tzatziki sauce just ties it all together.

And don't even get me started on their steak fries!

Banh Mi Boys

Whenever I'm in the mood for some delicious Vietnamese-inspired sandwiches, I head straight to Banh Mi Boys in Metairie.

The braised pork belly sandwich is always a must-try for me, and I can't get enough of the bang bang shrimp.

Every time I visit, the service is quick and pleasant, making the experience even better.

The outdoor seating is a great spot to enjoy the meal, especially with the heaters on chilly days.

One of my favorite things to order is their unique "pho" wings.

They drizzle Sriracha and hoisin sauce on top, then add cilantro and green onion – absolutely delicious!

I also love their traditional pork egg rolls.

Daiwa Sushi Bar & Japanese Cuisine

Whenever I'm craving delicious sushi, there's only one place that comes to mind – Daiwa Sushi Bar & Japanese Cuisine in Metairie.

I've been to many sushi spots across the US, but Daiwa consistently stands out as one of the best.

One of the many things I appreciate about Daiwa is the exceptional service.

It's evident that they don't suffer from the lack of care you might experience at other restaurants.

The food at Daiwa is phenomenal, and the prices are quite reasonable, considering the high quality of the sushi.

The well-designed menu includes detailed information and pictures of almost everything on offer, which is helpful in making decisions.

Station 6

I absolutely love dining at Station 6 whenever I get the chance.

It's the perfect spot for a laid-back, casual dining experience that focuses on delicious seafood.

I remember the first time I went there to celebrate my partner's birthday, and we enjoyed it so much that we went back just a couple of days later!

The menu offers a good variety - they had at least five different types of fish to choose from.

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect place to unwind after a long day.

You don't need reservations, but I would recommend getting there early since it can get busy.

One of my favorite things about Station 6 is its relaxed, non-pretentious atmosphere. You can dress up or down and still feel comfortable.

The food is not only mouth-watering, but the presentation is top-notch, and the service is always friendly and attentive.

I can't forget to mention their oyster selection - absolutely delicious!

I also tried the shrimp salad once, and it was way better than I expected.

On another visit, I decided to sit outside on their patio and enjoyed the perfect weather.

They also have covered seating with fans to help keep the temperature down during warmer months.

Chef Ron's Gumbo Stop

Whenever I'm craving some good Cajun-Creole food, I always head over to Chef Ron's Gumbo Stop.

It's an unpretentious and cheery spot that never disappoints. I've tried a variety of dishes here, and everything tastes amazing.

Their gumbo is hands-down the best in the New Orleans area, and I can't get enough of the blackened chicken pasta.

What I love about this place is that it's frequented by fellow locals who just want to enjoy a delicious, casual meal.

Whenever I bring friends and family from out of town here, they're always impressed by the quality of the food.

Sure, it might seem a bit pricey for such a casual establishment, but trust me, it's worth every penny.

Chef Ron truly has a gift for highlighting the uniqueness of each Cajun and Creole dish.

NolaKorea Korean Restaurant

One day, I decided to try out a Korean restaurant in my neighborhood, NolaKorea Korean Restaurant.

What caught my attention was their Dolsot Bibimbap, a Korean dish that's served in a hot stove pot and comes with a variety of ingredients like rice, beef, spinach, carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, radish, lettuce, and a fried egg on top.

You have to mix everything together with a metal spoon before eating it but trust me, it's worth the effort!

The mix of fresh and hot flavors was just amazing.

The main dish also came with mini appetizers like fried tofu, sweet & sour potatoes, spicy cucumbers, and kimchi.

The total cost of the meal was a reasonable $15.82, including sales tax.

The restaurant was clean, which is always a plus.

The Catch

I cannot rave enough about The Catch Seafood Restaurant!

Whenever I'm craving some delicious, gluten-free fried food, this is my go-to spot.

I remember the first time I tried their chicken & shrimp platter, and I was blown away by how perfectly seasoned and tasty it was.

My partner loves their Oyster & Shrimp Po Boy, and trust me, you don't have to be gluten-free to enjoy their amazing food.

This little gem, run by a husband and wife team, is located just a short drive from New Orleans, and you can find it here.

Not only is the food outstanding, but the service is always prompt and friendly.

I've tried their fried cheese bites, fried oysters, and seasoned garlic shrimp, and they never disappoint.

Vincent's Italian Cuisine

One evening, I decided to treat myself to a lovely dinner at Vincent's Italian Cuisine.

The old-world space of this Southern Italian spot made it feel cozy and intimate, perfect for a relaxing night out.

I had heard great things about their red-sauce pastas and crab bisque, so I decided to give them a try.

The food was absolutely flavorful, and I could tell that it was made with love and great attention to detail.

I also decided to order a drink from the bar, and let me tell you, their bartender knows what they're doing!

Austin's Seafood & Steakhouse

One of the things I love most about my neighborhood is having access to some truly wonderful dining experiences.

Austin's Seafood & Steakhouse is no exception. I've been there a couple of times now, and I must say, it never disappoints.

One of my favorite things to order there is the filet and lobster with a side of a twice-baked potato.

The steak and lobster are cooked to perfection, and although it's a bit on the pricey side, I believe it's well worth it for the quality of the food.

Another dish I can't help but recommend is the Barbecue Twin Fillet, which my partner ordered the last time we were there.

She absolutely loved it!

For appetizers, you simply must try their crab cakes - some of the best I've ever had.

And don't even get me started on their White and Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake; it's so good you might want to order two!

Phở NOLA

I often find myself craving a comforting bowl of phở, and Phở NOLA has become my go-to spot for satisfying that craving.

Located in a simple strip-mall setting, this gem of a restaurant offers a variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes like banh mi and bubble tea.

My visits to Phở NOLA have always been a pleasant experience.

I remember my first time visiting with my partner; we were promptly seated, and our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering.

That kind of efficiency is much appreciated during a busy workday lunch hour.

The food at Phở NOLA is nothing short of fantastic.

I've tried various dishes, but my absolute favorite has to be the shaken beef.

The beef is cut into generous bite-sized pieces, and the honey mustard dipping sauce that accompanies it adds a unique and delicious twist to the dish.

Royal Thai Bistreaux

I recently dined at Royal Thai Bistreaux and had a pleasant experience.

I was initially drawn in by the delicious Thai tea they serve - it's one of my favorites!

I've been to Pacos Tacos in Metairie several times, and I must say that their tacos are quite delicious.

My personal favorite is the Paco Taco, which is a deep-fried beef taco with just the right amount of spice.

The serving sizes here are generous, with the standard Taco plate including five small tacos.

I appreciate that they give you the option to choose between flour or corn tortilla.

Aside from their tasty tacos, Pacos Tacos offers a military discount and a referral on their orange drink, which is a nice touch.

The shrimp tacos with guacamole are worth trying as well.

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

I recently celebrated my anniversary at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Metairie, and it was an unforgettable experience.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a beautifully decorated table complete with confetti and a rose.

The food at Fleming's was incredible. I highly recommend the lobster bisque and the filet mignon, and you absolutely must try the lava cake.

We even received some chocolates to take home, which was a lovely touch.

I especially appreciated their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests' experience.
