Belen de la Cruz - Empanadas & Pastries
Occasionally, I revisit a delightful location in Johns Creek that never fails to transport me to the lively streets of Argentina.
The place is Belen de la Cruz, an Argentine bakery that's become a staple in my culinary adventures.
One bite into their empanadas, and you're in for an unparalleled experience.

What I adore about this bakery is the variety it offers.

If you ever decide to stop by, I highly recommend the spinach and cheese empanada.
It's made fresh to order, arrives piping hot, and is divine.
But what's an Argentine pastry shop without alfajores?
The ones at Belen are filled with dulce de leches right when you order.
The delicate shortbread layers and the sweet, creamy filling strike a perfect balance and have quickly become a personal favorite.
It's also a beautiful place to unwind with a delicious pastry and a cup of coffee.

Los Abuelos Mexican Grill
Just thinking about Los Abuelos Mexican Grill brings back a mix of emotions.
Here's a bit about my experience there.
You can check out their website for more info.
On a slow rainy day, I decided to drop by Los Abuelos for the first time after hearing about it quite a bit.
The place looked appealing, flaunting an open-set-up, stylish decor, and multiple TVs.
It has friendly and accommodating service, but let's discuss the food.
The chips were excellent, especially with its cheese dip with jalapeño.
Regarding drinks, we ordered the Tropical Bahama Margarita and the V.I.P Hero Margarita—both were flavorsome and strong.
The Roasted Hawaiian Steak Salad and the L. Chicken Tacos were our picks for the main course.
To add a pinch of culture to this narration, I must mention the intriguing artwork at the front of the restaurant.
It's based on an Aztec mythology tale of a princess named Iztaccíhuatl who falls in love with a warrior named Popocatépetl.
Quite the captivating story, I must say, makes dining at Los Abuelos great.
Olomi's Grill
I must say, Olomi's Grill has quickly become one of my favorite joints in Atlanta.
A few months ago, I was looking for a change of scenery and found this place incredible if you're looking for halal food in the city.
I've had takeout a few times, but nothing beats eating there.
The authentic flavors and the rich, juicy kebabs never fail to impress me.
Additionally, the customer service is exceptional with its warm and attentive approach, guaranteeing that all your needs are met for a pleasant dining experience.
Over time, I've also attended a few family gatherings here.
The family platter is a crowd-pleaser, though I believe they could enhance the value by including drinks for everyone.
But all things considered, the dishes' variety and flavors have always been a hit among my family and friends.
In addition to the kebabs, I can't recommend enough the lamb chops and the pulao rice.
And if you're a fan of eggplant, their eggplant dish is a must-try!
The soft, flavorful meat samosa is another favorite of mine.
One visit to Olomi's Grill, and you'll find it hard to stay away for too long!
I'll continue to enjoy their food and warm hospitality every other week.

Sugo Restaurant
What a delight it is to have a place like Sugo in our town.
You know, it's one of those spots you'd rather keep secret, a hidden gem if you will, but it's too good not to share.
The ambiance is warm, reminiscent of a family-run Mediterranean joint, complete with a bar and patio that cannot be overlooked.
Every visit to Sugo is a culinary adventure.
I remember the day we ordered the hangar steak and the fresh fish.
Both were mind-blowing and washed down with a fabulous cappuccino and tiramisu; the experience was unparalleled.
We recently celebrated an anniversary there, and the service went above and beyond to make it memorable.
The candle and champagne were such a sweet touch.
We had the Spanish Octopus and the Arancini, the latter being heavenly, the former also good.
And for drinks, we opted for the Apple Spicer and the Walnut Old Fashioned.
The Apple Spicer was my favorite, but both were amazing.
Every dish at Sugo is an explosion of flavors and textures that intrigue your palate.
All in all, Sugo is a place you must try if you appreciate good food and a cozy atmosphere.
I, for one, can't wait to visit again and try different items from their menu.
Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar
I recently decided to celebrate my partner's birthday at Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar, and I must say the experience was simply delightful.
The ambiance was a perfect combination of sophistication and comfort, with stylish decor that created a relaxing environment for an enjoyable evening.
Moreover, the food came out promptly, indicating their commitment to excellent service.
Speaking of food, every dish we tried was a hit.
Everything was deliciously prepared, from the appetizers to the main course and desserts.
The quantities were generous enough, with an option to substitute rice with cauliflower - a healthy twist I particularly appreciated.
The options were equally diverse, including an amazingly refreshing carbonated yogurt drink.
Like our family tradition, we booked a reservation. Still, we were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant relatively empty, allowing us to savor our meal in a peaceful and spacious environment.
Worth mentioning also is that the restaurant offers a good selection for vegetarians, making it a suitable choice for diverse dietary preferences.
Apart from dine-in, Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar also offers catering services.

Beto's Tacos
Anyone looking for great, authentic tacos should visit Beto's Tacos.
Their selection of tacos is delicious.
I usually go for a hearty variety of carne asada, chorizo, carnitas, and al pastor.
Among them all, the chorizo taco always stands out with its insane flavors.
You also enjoy their smooth and tasty queso with complimentary chips and access to their awesome salsa/condiment bar.
I'm a massive fan of the roasted habanero salsa, the second spiciest but adds that perfect kick to the tacos.
I was so impressed with the food that I returned for a second visit to try the quesabirria.
The meat was incredibly tender and juicy with stretchy Oaxaca cheese, while the consomme that came with it was intensely flavorful.
On another visit, I tried the steak taco and pork belly taco.
Although these didn't impress me much, I found a new favorite: the kids' fries with queso and chicken.
These were absolutely to die for!
And as always, the salsas were fantastic, and the restaurant was impeccably clean.
I tried the Pollo Norteno with grilled chicken, bacon, poblano peppers, and onions on different occasions.
It was excellent and generous in portion.
A small side of guacamole with chips rounded off the meal perfectly.
Beto's Tacos is in a great area, always fresh and clean.
If you're looking to avoid meat, the vegetarian tacos at this restaurant are an excellent choice.

ATL Pakka Local
I had heard much about a new establishment in town and decided to check it out.
Oh boy, was I in for a treat at ATL Pakka Local!
Right off the bat, let me say that this place might be small, but it sure does pack a punch.
I found myself waiting for a table on a busy weekend, but I knew it was worth the wait once I had tasted their food.
The tandoori chicken was smoky and tender, while the chicken and goat dum biryani were out of this world.
I might go as far as to say that they serve the best goat biryani in Atlanta.
The spice level was just correct - not too mild or fiery.
They also have a rather intriguing fusion menu which I plan to try the next time I visit.
I indulged in their ice cream options to round off the meal, each better than the last.
The crispy corn masala, in particular, was nothing short of exceptional.
Meanwhile, we enjoyed its outstanding service, making our dining experience there great.
The tres leches cake was the star of this sampler - so moist and delicious.
If you're craving an authentic Indian dining experience, ATL Pakka Local is the place to be.
Their biryani served in a pot was packed with flavor, and the portion size was more than sufficient.
Don't be fooled by the small pot; it's a pretty hefty meal.
Their chili chicken starter was divine and is a must-try for all visitors.
Just a heads-up, though, the place tends to be quite busy on the weekends, especially during the evenings.
But despite the crowd, I would recommend ATL Pakka Local.
It's a culinary experience you wouldn't want to miss!
