Belen de la Cruz - Empanadas & Pastries
Occasionally, I revisit a delightful location in Johns Creek that never fails to transport me to the lively streets of Argentina.
The place is Belen de la Cruz, an Argentine bakery that's become a staple in my culinary adventures.
One bite into their empanadas, and you're in for an unparalleled experience.
They bear no semblance to the regular empanadas you find elsewhere.
Belen de la Cruz is known for their exceptional and delectable treats crafted with great care.
Each treat contains various ingredients such as beef, chicken, mushroom, bacon, onion, ham and cheese, and even butternut squash.
Their attention to detail sets them apart from others.
The dough is not your typical hard shell but a flaky, buttery pastry that crumbles delightfully with each bite.
Meanwhile, the fillings are nothing short of exquisite.
From the hearty and savory to the subtly sweet, each variant offers a distinct gastronomic experience that will tickle your taste buds.
What I adore about this bakery is the variety it offers.
There's an empanada for everyone, and I find myself trying a new flavor with each visit.
If you ever decide to stop by, I highly recommend the spinach and cheese empanada.
It's made fresh to order, arrives piping hot, and is divine.
But what's an Argentine pastry shop without alfajores?
The ones at Belen are filled with dulce de leches right when you order.
The delicate shortbread layers and the sweet, creamy filling strike a perfect balance and have quickly become a personal favorite.
It's also a beautiful place to unwind with a delicious pastry and a cup of coffee.
So, if you ever find yourself in Johns Creek, don't forget to check out Belen de la Cruz.
It's a must-visit for every foodie, and I guarantee it'll quickly carve a place in your heart (and your stomach!) just like it has in mine.
Snooks Grill & Cocktails
I must say, my latest food escapade at Snooks Grill & Cocktails was nothing short of amazing.
There's nothing like a cozy restaurant & bar with top-notch food, and Snooks certainly didn't disappoint.
I started with the spinach dip appetizer - it arrived piping hot and full of flavors.
When I thought it couldn't get better, I had their chicken and waffles, which were great!
The chicken had a perfect char, complementing the fluffy waffles superbly.
From the Cajun chicken Alfredo to the honey-glazed pork chop, everything was cooked to perfection.
The creamy sauce of the pasta, the perfect glaze on the chop, every bite was pure bliss.
Another thing that truly stood out was their salad. Even the simple starter salad was divine; crunchy croutons and a beautiful pop of flavor.
Now, don't even get me started on their cocktails.
The peach lemon drop with a sugar rim was a perfect concoction of booze and sweetness, just the right balance to get you buzzed.
Not to forget, the service was excellent and hospitable, providing a great dining experience.
So, if you're looking for a cozy ambiance, delicious food, and great cocktails, Snooks Grill & Cocktails is the place to be.

RAKKAN Ramen Johns Creek
If there's one food place I frequently visit, it's RAKKAN Ramen Johns Creek.
This spot's something so homely and authentic that it draws me in repeatedly.
It has a welcoming service, ensuring a pleasant dining experience each time.
During my visits, I've tried various items on their menu.
My favorite is the Spicy Garlic Ramen, packed with flavors that will leave a lasting impression on your taste buds.
The combination of the rich, spicy broth and perfectly cooked noodles is just irresistible.
There's also a tradition that I've started.
Whenever I take my daughter out for lunch, RAKKAN is our top choice.
We usually start with Crispy Pork Gyoza, which is delicious.
The dipping sauce adds an extra layer of taste, leaving you craving more.
The Garnet Ramen and Spicy Garnet Ramen have become our go-to dishes, consistently hitting the spot.
Whether you're a fan of Ramen or looking to try something new, I'd highly recommend visiting RAKKAN Ramen in Johns Creek.
Their rice bowls are equally delightful if you're not in the mood for noodles!
Ethiopiques Cafe and Restaurant
I remember the first time I walked into Ethiopiques Cafe and Restaurant, intrigued by Ethiopian cuisine.
I had no prior experience with it, but the decision to enter this eatery was one of my best decisions.
The food here is nothing short of amazing!
The service, to begin with, is top-notch.
I was met with warm, friendly, and efficient service.
It was the wholesome and authentic Ethiopian experience I was looking for – flavorful, hot, and delicious.
I've also been to Ethiopiques with a group of friends and kids.
We tried the Chechebsa, spiced pita bread with yogurt and honey, and the Ethiopiques Special, which included rib eye and lamb.
The ambiance of Ethiopiques is inviting and beautifully decorated, making it a pleasant dining experience.
The food, especially the lentil appetizer, 'fuol,' left me craving more, by far the best lentils I've ever tasted.
Also, their rice dish was equally delectable with a hint of mint, and the coffee was rich, robust, and had a unique flavor that reminded me of pumpkin spice.
The restaurant offers ample portions, so going there hungry is a good idea.
My group and I chose a special that consisted of lamb, steak, and five vegetable sides - it was a feast!
Undoubtedly, Ethiopiques Cafe and Restaurant has become a favorite spot for me and my friends in Atlanta.
Los Abuelos Mexican Grill
Just thinking about Los Abuelos Mexican Grill brings back a mix of emotions.
Here's a bit about my experience there.
You can check out their website for more info.
On a slow rainy day, I decided to drop by Los Abuelos for the first time after hearing about it quite a bit.
The place looked appealing, flaunting an open-set-up, stylish decor, and multiple TVs.
It has friendly and accommodating service, but let's discuss the food.
The chips were excellent, especially with its cheese dip with jalapeño.
Regarding drinks, we ordered the Tropical Bahama Margarita and the V.I.P Hero Margarita—both were flavorsome and strong.
The Roasted Hawaiian Steak Salad and the L. Chicken Tacos were our picks for the main course.
To add a pinch of culture to this narration, I must mention the intriguing artwork at the front of the restaurant.
It's based on an Aztec mythology tale of a princess named Iztaccíhuatl who falls in love with a warrior named Popocatépetl.
Quite the captivating story, I must say, makes dining at Los Abuelos great.
I must say, Olomi's Grill has quickly become one of my favorite joints in Atlanta.
A few months ago, I was looking for a change of scenery and found this place incredible if you're looking for halal food in the city.
I've had takeout a few times, but nothing beats eating there.
The authentic flavors and the rich, juicy kebabs never fail to impress me.
Additionally, the customer service is exceptional with its warm and attentive approach, guaranteeing that all your needs are met for a pleasant dining experience.
Over time, I've also attended a few family gatherings here.
The family platter is a crowd-pleaser, though I believe they could enhance the value by including drinks for everyone.
But all things considered, the dishes' variety and flavors have always been a hit among my family and friends.
In addition to the kebabs, I can't recommend enough the lamb chops and the pulao rice.
And if you're a fan of eggplant, their eggplant dish is a must-try!
The soft, flavorful meat samosa is another favorite of mine.
One visit to Olomi's Grill, and you'll find it hard to stay away for too long!
I'll continue to enjoy their food and warm hospitality every other week.
My love for Vietnamese food always takes me back to Pho-Tastic, an authentic local Vietnamese restaurant that never fails to satisfy my palette.
The moment I walk in, the inviting, spacious ambiance immediately sets the mood for a relaxed dining experience.
The tables are strategically placed, giving enough room for diners to enjoy their meal with a sense of privacy.
Their pho is an absolute delight, with the broth being a standout.
I also have a soft spot for their rolls and sandwiches.
The portions are generous, always leaving me satisfied.
On one of my visits, I decided to try something different and ordered a pork sandwich and Vegetable Pho.
Adding chicken to the Pho and opting for the spicy broth tasted another level.
As for the appetizer, I picked tempura shrimp - it was fresh, crispy, and the flavor was simply spot-on.
I was thoroughly impressed by the consistency in taste, fair pricing, and excellent service that make Pho-Tastic a must-visit for every local in the area.
Have I mentioned that the restaurant is filled with natural light?
It adds to the already charming atmosphere of this delightful eatery.
Amigos Mex Grill
I am constantly drawn to Amigos Mex Grill, a hidden gem in our city.
It's a place that exudes warmth and charm from the moment you step in.
The service was nothing short of fantastic; it was attentive, invariably friendly, and they always serve you with a smile.
There's something comforting about their food, a homely touch that I associate with the best of Mexican cuisine.
The chicken is always cooked to perfection, juicy, and flavorful.
But the highlight, in my opinion, is their brisket burrito.
It's a dish I've come to love and one I can't help but order every time I visit.
And let's not forget their impressive array of tacos and the delightful margaritas that never fail to hit the spot!
The atmosphere is alive with an infectious energy that pulls you in.
Some days, you'll find live music adding to the delightful ambiance.
Despite its location in a shopping complex, this place offers more than meets the eye.
Whether grabbing a quick meal or planning a night out with friends, Amigos Mex Grill offers an incredible range of options catering to all tastes and budgets.
Despite the pricey area, it's a place that has managed to maintain its affordability without compromising quality.
I can guarantee you this - once you visit, you'll be just as eager to return, just like me!
I've enjoyed dining at the Pampas Steakhouse, a local gem that offers Argentinean-style grilled steaks and an extensive wine list in an upscale ambiance.
My most memorable visit was when I booked a table to celebrate a family birthday.
I was struck by the warm, wood-paneled interior, which added to the charm of the evening.
The lobster bisque was creamy and rich, while the medium rare rib-eye was cooked perfectly.
I was pleasantly surprised by the bone marrow.
Pampa's Steakhouse's exquisite food and generally excellent service ensure that it remains a favorite spot for special occasions.
What a delight it is to have a place like Sugo in our town.
You know, it's one of those spots you'd rather keep secret, a hidden gem if you will, but it's too good not to share.
The ambiance is warm, reminiscent of a family-run Mediterranean joint, complete with a bar and patio that cannot be overlooked.
Every visit to Sugo is a culinary adventure.
I remember the day we ordered the hangar steak and the fresh fish.
Both were mind-blowing and washed down with a fabulous cappuccino and tiramisu; the experience was unparalleled.
We recently celebrated an anniversary there, and the service went above and beyond to make it memorable.
The candle and champagne were such a sweet touch.
We had the Spanish Octopus and the Arancini, the latter being heavenly, the former also good.
And for drinks, we opted for the Apple Spicer and the Walnut Old Fashioned.
The Apple Spicer was my favorite, but both were amazing.
Every dish at Sugo is an explosion of flavors and textures that intrigue your palate.
All in all, Sugo is a place you must try if you appreciate good food and a cozy atmosphere.
I, for one, can't wait to visit again and try different items from their menu.
Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar
I recently decided to celebrate my partner's birthday at Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar, and I must say the experience was simply delightful.
The ambiance was a perfect combination of sophistication and comfort, with stylish decor that created a relaxing environment for an enjoyable evening.
Moreover, the food came out promptly, indicating their commitment to excellent service.
Speaking of food, every dish we tried was a hit.
Everything was deliciously prepared, from the appetizers to the main course and desserts.
The quantities were generous enough, with an option to substitute rice with cauliflower - a healthy twist I particularly appreciated.
The options were equally diverse, including an amazingly refreshing carbonated yogurt drink.
Like our family tradition, we booked a reservation. Still, we were pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant relatively empty, allowing us to savor our meal in a peaceful and spacious environment.
Worth mentioning also is that the restaurant offers a good selection for vegetarians, making it a suitable choice for diverse dietary preferences.
Apart from dine-in, Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar also offers catering services.
Without a doubt, my experience with Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar has been nothing but satisfactory.
Whether you're planning a quiet dinner or a celebration or need catering for an event, this place makes an excellent choice.
Anyone looking for great, authentic tacos should visit Beto's Tacos.
Their selection of tacos is delicious.
I usually go for a hearty variety of carne asada, chorizo, carnitas, and al pastor.
Among them all, the chorizo taco always stands out with its insane flavors.
You also enjoy their smooth and tasty queso with complimentary chips and access to their awesome salsa/condiment bar.
I'm a massive fan of the roasted habanero salsa, the second spiciest but adds that perfect kick to the tacos.
I was so impressed with the food that I returned for a second visit to try the quesabirria.
The meat was incredibly tender and juicy with stretchy Oaxaca cheese, while the consomme that came with it was intensely flavorful.
On another visit, I tried the steak taco and pork belly taco.
Although these didn't impress me much, I found a new favorite: the kids' fries with queso and chicken.
These were absolutely to die for!
And as always, the salsas were fantastic, and the restaurant was impeccably clean.
I tried the Pollo Norteno with grilled chicken, bacon, poblano peppers, and onions on different occasions.
It was excellent and generous in portion.
A small side of guacamole with chips rounded off the meal perfectly.
Beto's Tacos is in a great area, always fresh and clean.
If you're looking to avoid meat, the vegetarian tacos at this restaurant are an excellent choice.
Their salsa bar is also a crowd favorite, with various fresh salsas, radishes, and limes.
I'm always looking forward to trying more items on their menu.
Their consistent quality and variety make every dining experience at Beto's Tacos something to look forward to.
ATL Pakka Local
I had heard much about a new establishment in town and decided to check it out.
Oh boy, was I in for a treat at ATL Pakka Local!
Right off the bat, let me say that this place might be small, but it sure does pack a punch.
I found myself waiting for a table on a busy weekend, but I knew it was worth the wait once I had tasted their food.
The tandoori chicken was smoky and tender, while the chicken and goat dum biryani were out of this world.
I might go as far as to say that they serve the best goat biryani in Atlanta.
The spice level was just correct - not too mild or fiery.
They also have a rather intriguing fusion menu which I plan to try the next time I visit.
I indulged in their ice cream options to round off the meal, each better than the last.
The crispy corn masala, in particular, was nothing short of exceptional.
Meanwhile, we enjoyed its outstanding service, making our dining experience there great.
The tres leches cake was the star of this sampler - so moist and delicious.
If you're craving an authentic Indian dining experience, ATL Pakka Local is the place to be.
Their biryani served in a pot was packed with flavor, and the portion size was more than sufficient.
Don't be fooled by the small pot; it's a pretty hefty meal.
Their chili chicken starter was divine and is a must-try for all visitors.
Just a heads-up, though, the place tends to be quite busy on the weekends, especially during the evenings.
But despite the crowd, I would recommend ATL Pakka Local.
It's a culinary experience you wouldn't want to miss!
Gao Fresh Noodle
When finding a place for fantastic pho, Gao Fresh Noodle always comes to the top of my mind.
I've dined here on several occasions, and each experience has been nothing short of outstanding.
They serve the best pho in town, with a rich broth and flavorful meats.
Additionally, their fried shrimp and chicken egg rolls are just as delectable.
A bowl of pho is $15, which I find fair, considering the quality and portion size.
It always leaves me feeling satisfied.
Beyond the food, the environment of Gao Fresh Noodle adds to the whole dining experience.
The interior is open and airy, making it an excellent spot for casual dining.
Plus, the eatery shines in the service department too.
The service is attentive and hospitable, consistently striving to ensure you have the most enjoyable dining experience possible.
To sum it up, Gao Fresh Noodle is a spotless and well-kept restaurant that provides excellent service and delicious cuisine.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying pho experience.
My family and I have been regulars at Vincenza's Pizzeria for years.

It's a convenient spot for a delightful meal after a long day.
The family-friendly vibe makes it an easy choice when spending quality time with my little ones.
It feels like home, with comfortable booths, high tables, and stools that cater to everyone's comfort.
Their cauliflower crust pizza is fantastic!
We've enjoyed it so many times now that we've lost count. It's easily the best pizza I've ever tasted.
Have you tried the Meat Lovers Supreme pizza?
It's a meat lover's paradise, with every bite bursting with delicious flavors.
My Brazilian partner is especially thrilled with the unique Brazilian pizza options, a nod to his home cuisine in the middle of Atlanta.
And here's my "must-try" recommendation for everyone - the barbecue and marinara pizza.
Trust me, the stringy, long cheese melt on it is a spectacle in itself.
For sides, you can't go wrong with their mozzarella sticks either - they're an absolute delight to munch on.
Vincenza's Pizzeria continues to be our gem.
Its delectable food, excellent service, and cozy environment remain unmatched.
So whether you're stopping by for a slice or craving an entire pie, Vincenza's is the place to be.
