The menu at Citrus Cafe is absolutely extensive, offering a variety of both indulgent and healthy options.
As someone who follows a fitness plan, I appreciate that I can still indulge in their amazing freshly squeezed orange juice and buttermilk pancakes without feeling guilty.
Plus, they even serve mimosas and bloody Marys for those special weekend outings when you want to treat yourself a bit more!
After trying so many breakfast places in the area, Citrus Cafe has easily become my personal favorite.

Cozy Inn Chinese Restaurant
I have always been on the lookout for good Chinese food in town, and one day I stumbled upon Cozy Inn Chinese Restaurant.
The moment I entered, I could tell this place had a rich history as it is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Wisconsin and the second oldest in the United States.
The cozy and vintage atmosphere instantly transported me back to my childhood.
I decided to order some house-fried rice, beef and broccoli, shrimp egg foo young, and Shrimp Hunan.
I couldn't resist adding an order of crab rangoon as well, which I devoured before even having the chance to take a picture.
The food was absolutely delicious, and I could tell that it was made using classic Chinese recipes.
Genisa Wine Bar
Genisa Wine Bar is one of my absolute favorites in town.
What really stands out about Genisa is their incredible food options.
It's so hard to choose between their delectable garlic bread, citrus olives, rosemary mixed nuts, pizza, and the unforgettable potato gnocchi.
I recently tried an appetizer that combined wild boar, apricot jam, and various cheeses – and it was simply out of this world!
Not to mention, their patio is the perfect setting for enjoying a refreshing sangria on a warm summer evening.
And don't forget to try their steak meatball and any of their pizzas – they have the best crust I've tasted in a long time!
Stokes' Pub
Let me tell you about one of my all-time favorite spots in town, Stokes' Pub!
I've been going here for years, and it never disappoints.
It's a cozy little bar and grill with a fantastic atmosphere, especially on a busy Saturday night when there are games on.
A group of friends and I recently went there, and we had a blast!
We were starving when we arrived, so we decided to order almost all of the appetizers.
I'm telling you, the broccoli bites, cheese curds, fried pickles, and cowboy corn bites are to die for!
For our main course, we went for a variety of items like BLTs, crispy chicken wraps, Buffalo chicken wraps, and a pizza.
Everyone was absolutely thrilled with their choices, and the food was just perfect.
The drink selection at Stokes' Pub is great too.
They have this amazing Wednesday special where you can get a 32oz craft beer for just $5!
I mean, where else can you find a deal like that?
San Miguel de Allende
I've dined at many Mexican restaurants, but San Miguel de Allende takes the cake for being one of the most authentic and delicious in the area.
My first visit there left a lasting impression, and I find myself coming back again and again.
The food always tastes great, and they serve some dishes that I haven't seen anywhere else.
Their chips and salsa are to die for and have become a staple for my dining experience at San Miguel de Allende.
I also recommend trying their grilled chicken salad, Al Pastor tacos, and Carne Asada tacos – the meat is so flavorful that you might just find yourself ordering some to go like I did.
What sets this restaurant apart, in addition to the fantastic food, is the service and atmosphere.
The decor is tasteful and high-end, with beautiful murals adding a touch of elegance to the space.
Game Day Sports Bar & Grill
I absolutely love going to Game Day Sports Bar & Grill whenever I get the chance.
It's always a great time with amazing food and an inviting atmosphere.
One of my favorite dishes to get is their grilled ham and cheese sandwich, which has thick-cut ham and Swiss cheese – it's truly fantastic.
A friend of mine is a big fan of their flame-grilled burgers, and I can vouch for those being equally delicious.

This time, I decided to try the Big Louie Burger, which is topped with pulled pork, onion straws, lettuce, tomato, and barbecue sauce.
It was messier than I remembered but still incredibly delicious and hit the spot.
My son joined me and had a grilled cheese with mac and cheese, which he enjoyed as well.
One thing I appreciate is their drink selection - they have a good cider on tap, which is a nice change from the usual beer offerings.
Parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's located downtown, but that's not unusual for the area.
Hacienda Real Mexican Restaurant
One of my all-time favorite spots to grab a meal with my family is definitely Hacienda Real Mexican Restaurant in Janesville.

They also have fresh popcorn available at the bar, and it tastes amazing!

The outdoor seating area was a nice touch, but since pets aren't allowed indoors, we couldn't bring our furry friends this time.
I went with Barkley's Cheeseburger, criss-cut fries, and Gray's root beer.
Everything was fresh, hot, and tasted great.

El Jardin Mexican Restaurant
If you haven't been to El Jardin Mexican Restaurant in Janesville yet, you're missing out.
The pomegranate margarita I had there was simply out of this world - the best margarita I've ever tasted!
Not to mention their incredible chips and salsa, which was so fresh and flavorful that I couldn't resist finishing every last bit.
