Cozy Inn Chinese Restaurant
I have always been on the lookout for good Chinese food in town, and one day I stumbled upon Cozy Inn Chinese Restaurant.
The moment I entered, I could tell this place had a rich history as it is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Wisconsin and the second oldest in the United States.
The cozy and vintage atmosphere instantly transported me back to my childhood.
I decided to order some house-fried rice, beef and broccoli, shrimp egg foo young, and Shrimp Hunan.
I couldn't resist adding an order of crab rangoon as well, which I devoured before even having the chance to take a picture.
The food was absolutely delicious, and I could tell that it was made using classic Chinese recipes.
Genisa Wine Bar
Genisa Wine Bar is one of my absolute favorites in town.
What really stands out about Genisa is their incredible food options.
It's so hard to choose between their delectable garlic bread, citrus olives, rosemary mixed nuts, pizza, and the unforgettable potato gnocchi.
I recently tried an appetizer that combined wild boar, apricot jam, and various cheeses – and it was simply out of this world!
Not to mention, their patio is the perfect setting for enjoying a refreshing sangria on a warm summer evening.
And don't forget to try their steak meatball and any of their pizzas – they have the best crust I've tasted in a long time!
Stokes' Pub
Let me tell you about one of my all-time favorite spots in town, Stokes' Pub!
I've been going here for years, and it never disappoints.
It's a cozy little bar and grill with a fantastic atmosphere, especially on a busy Saturday night when there are games on.
A group of friends and I recently went there, and we had a blast!
We were starving when we arrived, so we decided to order almost all of the appetizers.
I'm telling you, the broccoli bites, cheese curds, fried pickles, and cowboy corn bites are to die for!
For our main course, we went for a variety of items like BLTs, crispy chicken wraps, Buffalo chicken wraps, and a pizza.
Everyone was absolutely thrilled with their choices, and the food was just perfect.
The drink selection at Stokes' Pub is great too.
They have this amazing Wednesday special where you can get a 32oz craft beer for just $5!
I mean, where else can you find a deal like that?
San Miguel de Allende
I've dined at many Mexican restaurants, but San Miguel de Allende takes the cake for being one of the most authentic and delicious in the area.
My first visit there left a lasting impression, and I find myself coming back again and again.
The food always tastes great, and they serve some dishes that I haven't seen anywhere else.
Their chips and salsa are to die for and have become a staple for my dining experience at San Miguel de Allende.
I also recommend trying their grilled chicken salad, Al Pastor tacos, and Carne Asada tacos – the meat is so flavorful that you might just find yourself ordering some to go like I did.
What sets this restaurant apart, in addition to the fantastic food, is the service and atmosphere.
The decor is tasteful and high-end, with beautiful murals adding a touch of elegance to the space.
Game Day Sports Bar & Grill
I absolutely love going to Game Day Sports Bar & Grill whenever I get the chance.
It's always a great time with amazing food and an inviting atmosphere.
One of my favorite dishes to get is their grilled ham and cheese sandwich, which has thick-cut ham and Swiss cheese – it's truly fantastic.
A friend of mine is a big fan of their flame-grilled burgers, and I can vouch for those being equally delicious.
Their service is always quick and attentive, and I love the interior decor of the place.
It has a great personality that makes me feel right at home.
My family and I always rate our visits as five-star experiences.
We have been to Game Day many times, and their fish dishes are always exceptional.
The fish sandwich and tator sticks are some of my usual orders when I'm in the mood for seafood.
One thing I really appreciate about this bar and grill is that you can see your food being prepared, which adds a nice touch to the overall experience.
If you're ever considering trying out their fish fry, I highly recommend it but make sure to get there early, as the restaurant can fill up quickly.
Cozumel Mexican Restaurant
I consider myself a regular at Cozumel Mexican Restaurant for years.
Their menu offers all the Mexican basics, like burritos, enchiladas, and of course, delicious margaritas.
The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for catching up with friends, or in my case, a date night with my partner.
One of the things I absolutely love about Cozumel is their complimentary chips and salsa.
The salsa has just the right amount of spice and is perfect for someone like me who can't handle too much heat.
My favorite dish to order is the ground beef crispy tacos.
The meat is so flavorful and really elevates the dish to another level.
And let's not forget their phenomenal margaritas!
They come in various sizes, but if you're feeling adventurous, go for the GIANT Margarita – you won't regret it.
What really seals the deal for me is the affordable price point.
I can easily enjoy a delicious dinner for two and a couple of margaritas for less than $40.
Plus, Cozumel is conveniently located next to a movie theatre, making it an ideal spot for dinner and a movie date night.
Prime Quarter Steak House
Prime Quarter Steak House has become one of my local favorites for a fun and delicious dining experience.
The casual atmosphere is perfect for a night out with friends or family, and the grill-your-own meat/seafood option adds a unique touch to the experience.
One of my favorite aspects of dining at Prime Quarter is the quality of their steaks.
They serve high-quality cuts of meat, and being able to cook your own steak over their large charcoal grills adds a personal touch to the meal.
The salad bar is also a great addition, offering a variety of fresh and tasty options.
Even on busier nights, they never fail to provide prompt and courteous service.
I've had my fair share of memorable nights at Prime Quarter, including a recent ladies' night out with a group of friends.
Whiskey Ranch Bar & Grill
Just the other night, I decided to visit one of my favorite spots in town, Whiskey Ranch Bar & Grill.
It's a great place to unwind after a long day, with its Western bar atmosphere.
I usually sit at the bar, where the service is decent but not overly attentive, giving you some space to enjoy your evening.
This time, I decided to try the Big Louie Burger, which is topped with pulled pork, onion straws, lettuce, tomato, and barbecue sauce.
It was messier than I remembered but still incredibly delicious and hit the spot.
My son joined me and had a grilled cheese with mac and cheese, which he enjoyed as well.
One thing I appreciate is their drink selection - they have a good cider on tap, which is a nice change from the usual beer offerings.
Parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's located downtown, but that's not unusual for the area.
Hacienda Real Mexican Restaurant
One of my all-time favorite spots to grab a meal with my family is definitely Hacienda Real Mexican Restaurant in Janesville.
As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by their unique and colorful hand-painted decor, which perfectly sets the tone for a festive dining experience.
The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Tex-Mex dishes, and their flavored margaritas are a must-try.
What I really appreciate is the speed and attentiveness of the service.
An interesting thing to note is that they serve flour tortillas by default, but if you prefer corn tortillas, you can simply ask, and they'll happily make the change for you.
One of my favorite dishes to order here is the pollo poblano, paired with a Margarita Toro (a margarita served with a beer on top).
The food never disappoints, and the fresh, homemade salsa they serve with their chips adds a tasty touch.
The atmosphere is also quite enjoyable, with background music playing that leaves you feeling relaxed by the end of your meal.
As someone who is very particular about the freshness and quality of ingredients, I have to say that the chicken they use in their dishes at Hacienda Real is some of the freshest I've ever tasted.
Lark New American Restaurant
I recently dined at Lark and found it to be a delightful experience.
The casual-chic atmosphere was perfect for a night out, and the seasonal American cuisine was definitely on par.
When it came to the drinks, Lark did not disappoint either.

Also, the quality of the food and the overall experience were worth the price.
Bessie's Diner
I recently had breakfast at Bessie's Diner, and let me tell you, it was a delightful experience!
The atmosphere was fun and unique, with planes taking off and landing just outside the window.
I even got to enjoy a delicious coffee flight while watching the small aircraft soar through the sky.
The food was exceptional, and it's clear that they use high-quality ingredients.
I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it did not disappoint.
I also got to indulge in a dessert, the Bessie's Stack, which was a delicious combination of maple cinnamon donut bites with a cream cheese dip.
On my next visit, I'm definitely trying their famous French toast.
Milwaukee Grill
One of my favorite spots to grab a bite and catch up with friends is Milwaukee Grill.
This American restaurant has a relaxed neighborhood bar and grill vibe, with a diverse menu ranging from BBQ ribs to seafood.
I particularly enjoy their tap beer selection, which comes in two sizes and is always served cold.
A must-try appetizer is their Haystack Onion - it's absolutely delicious!
You can choose between a small or large plate, but be warned, the large plate is truly gigantic.
Another great option is their cheese curds, which never disappoint.
The atmosphere at Milwaukee Grill is bright and welcoming, with comfortable booths and a cozy fireplace in the center of the restaurant.
The bar area is slightly offset and darker, offering a more intimate setting.
They also have fresh popcorn available at the bar, and it tastes amazing!
My friends and family rave about the food here as well.
My daughter swears by their salmon, and I've heard great things about their steak salad (although I personally prefer raw onions on my salad).
Their bread and cheese curds are always a hit, and their brandy Old Fashioned sweet is a must-try.
Wedge Inn Cafe
Every time I am in need of a delicious breakfast, I head straight to Wedge Inn Cafe.
This family-run diner has been a neighborhood staple since 1967, and it never disappoints.

From the moment I walk in the door, I'm always greeted with welcoming smiles and prompt service.
It's such a fun and friendly atmosphere.
One of my favorite dishes is their omelet, which never fails to impress.
And I simply cannot leave without indulging in a pecan roll or one of their famous cinnamon rolls.
The restaurant is always spotless, making it a truly enjoyable place to dine.
Wedge Inn Cafe is, without a doubt, my usual breakfast spot, and I couldn't be happier to have such a gem in my neighborhood.
Barkley's Burgers, Brews & Dawgs
I finally decided to check out Barkley's Burgers, Brews & Dawgs after hearing good reviews from friends.
Walking into the bar and grill, I was greeted with a dog-themed atmosphere and a casual vibe.
The menu had a wide variety, ranging from pizza to wraps, fish, sandwiches, hot dogs, and, of course, burgers.
I was excited about their nightly specials like Taco Tuesday and Gyro Thursday.
The restaurant was clean and brightly lit, with 14 large-screen TVs and seasonal decor.
I appreciated the wheelchair accessibility, as my friend uses a wheelchair and was able to join us for dinner.
The outdoor seating area was a nice touch, but since pets aren't allowed indoors, we couldn't bring our furry friends this time.
I went with Barkley's Cheeseburger, criss-cut fries, and Gray's root beer.
Everything was fresh, hot, and tasted great.
I can't wait to go back and try some other items on the menu.
Peking Chinese Restaurant
When I recently visited Peking Chinese Restaurant with my family, I noticed that the restaurant was half full, which was a good sign.
As for the food, it was fresh and hot, and I appreciated that they packaged it well.
I ordered Mongolian beef, which was decent, and I was impressed that it came with lots of green onions instead of white onions.
The garlic chicken was quite tasty, and they used dark meat chicken, which my family prefers.
We also ordered Crab Rangoon as an appetizer, which was filled with cream cheese.
The total cost for three entrées and an appetizer was $48, which I found affordable.
The service was fast and friendly, and the food was hot.
Drafthouse Gastropub
I've been to Drafthouse a couple of times, and it never disappoints.
The atmosphere is always buzzing with energy, and the beautifully decorated interior sets the perfect mood for a night out.
The music is always on point, and I've even found a few new favorite songs while dining there.
One of my absolute favorite drinks at Drafthouse is their vanilla bean martini.
Also, the food is consistently top-notch.
I've tried dishes like their pretzel, swordfish, and pork chop, and I'd happily order any of them again.
I appreciate how they check on us regularly and genuinely care about our dining experience.
It's a refreshing change from other places where we often feel forgotten.
Eagle Inn Family Restaurant
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Eagle Inn Family Restaurant with a friend, and I was thoroughly impressed.
The service was excellent, and the food arrived quickly and tasted fantastic.
It's clear why this place has become a favorite spot for family breakfast outings.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the coffee is great and always replenished, and everyone in the family leaves satisfied.
On another visit, I decided to try something new and was not disappointed.
The Tender Pork Chops are indeed tender and the pineapple ring that came with it complemented its taste.
Italian House
If there's one place I always recommend to friends and family for a delicious and authentic Italian meal, it's Italian House.
As someone who has been frequenting this restaurant for over a decade, I can wholeheartedly say that their hearty sandwiches, pasta, and classic mains never disappoint.
What initially drew me to Italian House were their incredible sandwiches, which I first tried at a local gas station.
However, once I visited the restaurant and tasted their pasta dishes, I was hooked.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a relaxing evening or a gathering with friends and family.
Plus, their beer and wine selection pairs beautifully with the dishes on offer.
