The sea has always been a way of life for us, with fishing, scalloping, boating, and paddling being some of our favorite activities.

I recently visited Wild Sassa Food Trailer for lunch and was blown away by the freshness of their fish.
The tables outside are right on the river, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal.
There was a bit of a line, especially around lunchtime, but it was well worth the wait.
The location is a little hard to find, but once you do, it's the perfect spot.
As soon as I walked up to the truck, I could tell that the owner genuinely cares about delivering quality food.
I had a hard time deciding on which taco to get, so I ended up getting one snapper and one shrimp taco.
The staff was kind enough to give me both sauces, and they were delicious!
My husband ordered the seared yellowfin boat, which had lots of meat and was cooked just right, not overcooked.
We also couldn't resist grabbing some stone crab chowder.
We initially planned to have it for dinner, but the amazing smell in the car made us try some, and we ended up eating it all!
The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is cozy and laid-back.

I enjoyed the sight of Homosassa's vibrant waterfront while indulging in some quality food.
Speaking of quality food, the Freezer Tiki Bar offers a wide selection of seafood dishes, such as lobster bisque, mussels, and their signature seafood platter.
I had some great steamed shrimp, which was peel and eat Cajun style, and a huge helping!

I also enjoyed their clam chowder in a bread bowl.
The service was outstanding, and the town and restaurant had that classic "Old Florida" vibe.
The restaurant also has a great selection of drinks, including tropical cocktails, craft beers, and creative martinis.
One thing to note is that they only accept cash, but they do have an ATM on-site.
Nauti Time Seafood n Wings
Who would've thought that a small restaurant like Nauti Time Seafood n Wings would be one of the best places in Homosassa to satisfy your seafood and wings cravings?
This local spot on Yulee Drive serves generous portions of delicious seafood and mouthwatering wings with a casual, laid-back atmosphere.
I recently visited Nauti Time Seafood n Wings and was blown away by the amazing food.
The lobster roll was stuffed to the brim on a soft toasted roll, and the fries were hot and crispy.
I also tried the blackened grouper sandwich, which was sublime. Their hot wings were also great, with a perfect balance of heat and flavor.
The service at Nauti Time was fast, friendly, attentive, helpful, and thoughtful.

The Tuna Melt Sandwich, in particular, is a must-try.
I've been to Art's Diner a few times, and one of my favorite experiences was when I went for fish Fridays.
The fish was cooked to perfection, and I couldn't get enough of it.
Another time, my husband and I went in for green and red chili burrito day.
We got one of each, and the sauce was so flavorful. The food was really hot, which is always a plus.

Some of my personal favorites include Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Shrimp, Pork Egg Foo Young, Kung Pao Chicken, Pepper Beef, and Szechuan Shredded Chicken.
The restaurant's interior features the usual things you would expect from a Chinese diner—Chinese ornaments, decorations, and a warm atmosphere.
I've been wanting to try Mr. Wang's for a while and finally went there last night.
The restaurant was fairly busy, but the service was great. The staff was all working hard and getting the tables what they needed.
I had the pan-fried dumplings, crab Rangoon, egg roll, orange chicken, Moo Shu chicken, and the sweet and sour chicken.
They all came out hot and very flavorful. Oh, and the Mai Tais were great too!

Owned by two Italian brothers, this restaurant has been in business since 1989 and has become my go-to spot for Italian dishes like Chicken Parmigiana, Baked Ziti, Spaghetti Carbonara, and more.
What sets Two Guys from Italy apart is their use of 100% Italian ingredients and techniques.
I tried their linguine in white clam sauce and veal Parmigiana, and both dishes were mouth-watering.
They also have a great selection of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and pizza that satisfy any Italian food lover like myself.
But perhaps the best thing about Two Guys From Italy Restaurant and Sports Lounge is their top-notch service.
As a sports fan, I love that this restaurant doubles as a sports lounge where I can watch games while enjoying a meal.
There's a bar with flat-screen TVs, so I can watch my favorite team while indulging in Italian dishes.
The staff here is always friendly and attentive, ensuring my dining experience is pleasant every time I visit.
On my last visit, I had their pink sauce chicken fettuccini with a side Italian salad, which was amazing.
The Italian dressing, made in-house, was the best I've ever had.
Parking is never an issue, as there's a decent amount of space in the back and in front of the building.
The restaurant is conveniently located between Seafood Shack and a shopping center, just around the corner from the legendary Cinemark 17.

However, if you're looking to taste the iconic New-York-Style Pizza that's known worldwide, then Moschello's Pizza is the perfect place.
I've been a fan of Moschello's for years, and their signature homestyle sauce never disappoints.
They offer a variety of pizzas, from classic pepperoni and cheese to their signature garlic and seafood options.
Their claim to fame is their New York-Style Pizza, which comes with a thick crust and plenty of toppings.
But that's not all; Moschello's offers other Italian-inspired dishes, such as pasta, subs, and salads.
What makes Moschello's Pizza great is they use fresh ingredients and make their dough in-house.
I've tried their Philly cheese steaks, and they're excellent as well.

The service is always fantastic, and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming.
One of my favorite dishes at Moschello's is the Caesar Salad.
It's great with tea, soups, and some fresh buns. The eggplant sticks are also delicious and come in a big portion.
I once had the lunch special of sausage & peppers hero with French fries, and it was amazing.
My son loves their sausage roll, which is like a garlic knots crust with cheese & sausage – a great combo!

The best part about Crumps' Landing is the breathtaking view of the river and its natural surroundings.

The grouper sandwich in their menu was probably the tastiest thing I got.
The pirate ship playground next to the dining area was a hit with my kids.
This place is huge and provides fun for kids and adults. There is ample covered and uncovered seating, all of which is open air so dress accordingly.
Breakfast Station
Breakfast Station in Homosassa is truly is the premier destination for having a hearty and filling breakfast.
Founded in 1995, this restaurant chain now has over 14 different locations across Florida.
It started as a small train-themed diner before expanding and becoming a big franchise.
Breakfast Station is known for its quality breakfast options served in large portions at a fair price.
Their menu features all of your breakfast favorites, from pancakes and waffles to omelets and eggs.
They also serve breakfast burgers, subs, french fries, hash browns, and salads.
During my visit, I noticed that the place was always packed full of people, which is a testament to the great food they serve.
I couldn't resist trying their infamous French toast, and it was absolutely to die for!
Even if it's a dessert for you, I highly recommend giving it a try.
I've been to several restaurants for breakfast, but Breakfast Station has become my favorite "go-to place."
Even during peak breakfast hours, they always manage to seat you in a timely manner.
The wait staff are efficient and friendly, and they make sure your coffee is always replenished.
Wallace's at the Greenhouse

I absolutely love exploring different culinary delights, and Wallace's at the Greenhouse offers just that.
Located at the Greenhouse Bistro and Market, this restaurant is known for its creative dishes by the owner Chef Wallace.
The menu features a mix of Chef Wallace's 19-year culinary experience and dishes from the Caribbean and Latin cooking.
What's interesting about this restaurant is their menu changes every week, so I can always try something new when I visit.
Their dishes range from freshly caught seafood to beef, pork, and chicken dishes.
For instance, their menu for this week includes unique dishes like the Blue Cheese Crusted Filet, the classic Roasted Chicken, Hickory Dusted Pork Chops, Parmesan Pesto Cod, Honey Miso Salmon, and more.
Each dish features a unique experience that my taste buds always appreciate.
This is by far my favorite local restaurant. The menu has a great variety of dishes and prices.
Chef and owner Wallace is creative and can sure cook up some delicious food!

The staff is always patient and helpful. I have pretty much eaten my way around the menu (on my frequent visits) and tried many of the choices.
My favorites, so far, are:
- Honey Miso Salmon
- Shrimp n' Grits (Wallace's twist on this is amazing)
- Green Goat (Salmon over Spinach, Goat Cheese, Strawberry, Candied Pecan Salad)
- Grilled Mahi Sandwich
I could go on, but you get the idea. Also, I'm not a drinker, but I've heard that Jamon likes to get creative in the bar.
I've been told to try his Mango Rum 'Rita, which is apparently delish!
I haven't tried the Pineapple Jalapeño Rum 'Rita yet, but it's next on my list.
The food and drinks are always amazing, and I consistently have a great experience.
China Gourmet
China Gourmet is an authentic Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Homosassa.
Established in 2010, it quickly became my go-to place for those craving authentic Chinese dishes.
The menu features a variety of options, including soups, salads, dim sum, seafood, beef dishes, pork dishes, chicken dishes, and more.
You can also find vegetarian options on the menu.
Some of their best-selling items include pork dumplings, wonton noodles, fried rice, beef lo mein, and chicken chow mein.
Their dishes are made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection, guaranteed to give you the best Chinese food experience.
On my last visit, I got a sudden hankering for egg foo young, so I had to come back for more of their fabulous version.
The gravy is the cherry on top - soooo tasty. I also got the happy family (5/5) and chicken fried rice (5/5).
The total came to $42 including tip, and I got 3 dinners out of that order.
So. Much. Food!!! The happy family gravy was spot on, and the chicken fried rice was seasoned just right.
I'm so glad I found this place!
The food is always made to order but fast, very flavorful, and in generous portions.
I recently tried their taro boba slush for the first time, and it was pretty good too.
They offer a good variety of Chinese and a mix of small Thai dishes.
Florida Cracker Monkey Bar

Waterfront restaurants offer the freshest seafood around, and Florida Cracker Monkey Bar is no exception!
Located at Cherokee Way, this restaurant is the perfect place to experience some of the best seafood dishes in town.
This dockside restaurant is the ideal spot for an unforgettable experience in Homosassa.
I live just 6 miles away, and I love savoring delicious seafood and meat dishes as well as a wide selection of drinks from their outdoor bar.
You can also enjoy live music on the large patio and deck while you're here.
Florida Cracker Monkey Bar is the perfect spot for a fun night out with friends and family or simply for a romantic dinner.
Not only that, but their menu features dishes made from fresh local ingredients, which makes the entire experience even more special.

With their crab cakes and fried catfish, you’re definitely in for a treat when you dine here.
I also love their gator bites and huge cinnamon bun for appetizer – everything is always delicious!
If you’re looking for some of the best seafood around, Florida Cracker Monkey Bar is a great option to start your culinary journey.
Just keep in mind that it's a cash-only restaurant, but there's an ATM in the gift shop if needed.
The friendly staff, large portions, and wonderful view make it a 5-star experience for me.
It's still a fantastic place to visit. And who knows, you might even spot a manatee after your meal!
Michael Anthony's Pizza
Located at South Suncoast Boulevard, Michael Anthony's Pizza is a family-owned and operated Italian restaurant.
I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints.
They serve delicious Italian-style pies with a variety of toppings to choose from.
I also love their New York-style slices and other Italian dishes such as calzones, subs, stromboli, and more.
The restaurant isn't big but offers indoor and outdoor seating.
I've hosted private parties, reserved dinner with the family, and held business lunches with associates at Michael Anthony's Pizza.
No matter the occasion, it's the perfect spot for enjoying some mouthwatering Italian-style pizzas.
I remember picking up a large plate of penne rustica with chicken and a gorgonzola salad for a family dinner.
It was just the right amount of food for us to split and fairly priced too.
Another time, I took my mom for dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves.
From Sunday to Thursday, they have a great pre-fix menu (salad, beverage, entree with pasta, coffee or tea, and dessert).
As someone who's worked in the industry, I can say their quality and value are truly impressive.
In all my visits to Michael Anthony's Pizza, I've always enjoyed everything I've ordered.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere, combined with their delicious food, keeps me coming back for more.
Seagrass Waterfront

My recent visit to Seagrass Waterfront was an amazing experience.
Located at Halls River Road facing the magnificent Homosassa River, this waterfront restaurant offers a unique dining experience with breathtaking views.
The diverse menu at Seagrass Waterfront ranges from seafood to pasta, sandwiches, and more.
I tried their classic seafood dishes such as fresh grouper, crab cakes, peel-and-eat shrimp on ice, and oysters, and they were all excellent.
I also enjoyed their Island BBQ Pork Sandwich and Double SmashBurger, which were some of the best I've ever had.

One of my favorite parts of the restaurant is the outdoor seating area, where I could soak up the sun while taking in the Homosassa river views.
They also have several boardwalks to stroll along, making it a great place to spend a day.
I even took a boat tour offered by Seagrass Waterfront, which allowed me to enjoy the Homosassa river views up close.
The servers were friendly and attentive, making my dining experience even more enjoyable.
With great food, amazing views, and fantastic amenities, Seagrass Waterfront is definitely a must-visit spot for anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience.
