One of my favorite spots to grab sushi in town is definitely Katana Sushi & Ramen. I remember celebrating my little cousin's birthday there, and everything was just amazing. I ordered assorted Nigiri sushi and was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes and selections since some of the pieces are rare to see at most sushi bars.
I also appreciate the extensive menu they offer, with more specialty rolls than most places have. The fresh Toro, Uni, and King Salmon are just a few of the highlights.
In addition to their sushi offerings, Katana also has some more upscale options like toro and uni, which sets them apart from other sushi spots in the area. It might be slightly pricier than some other nearby places, but the quality and unique options make it worth the extra cost. I'm looking forward to trying their Ramen next time I visit.
Kinara Indian Cuisine & Bar
Last month, I decided to celebrate my birthday with a couple of friends at Kinara Indian Cuisine & Bar, and I must say, it was an excellent choice!
The atmosphere was cool and inviting, with live plants and a waterfall, creating a perfect setting for our special night.
One thing I appreciated was the option to choose the spice level for our meals. I went for medium heat, and it was just perfect for me.
We ordered two appetizers, Raj Kachori and Tandoori Dumplings, which were delicious and unique.
We also tried three different main courses, including the Chana Masala, which was absolutely fabulous.
The thinly sliced ginger root and cardamom seed added a refreshing touch to the dish.
I was also impressed by the portion sizes at Kinara.
They were not overwhelming, making it possible for us to try multiple dishes and still feel comfortably full. Plus, the food tasted fresh and healthy.
Liberatores Ristorante
The other day, I decided to treat myself to a delicious Italian meal at Liberatores Ristorante, a colorful and casual family-run Italian chain in the area.
I had heard great things about their diverse wine selection and familiar meals, so I was eager to give it a try.

I have been a regular customer at Kismet Cafe & Go for quite some time now.
This place is my go-to spot for delicious everything bagels. Apart from the consistent taste and appearance, the service has also been fantastic.
I placed an order for an acai bowl.
The bowl I received was full and looked appetizing. I could really feel the ingredients were carefully picked and prepared.
Their bagels also taste good, and the overall experience has been satisfying.
Smoky's BBQ
I've been a resident of this lovely town for over a decade, and throughout the years, I've come to cherish my regular visits to Smoky's BBQ.
The moment you step into this barbecue restaurant, you're greeted with the mouthwatering aroma of pit-smoked ribs, chicken, and beef.
The simple, homey space with counter service adds to the cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
Smoky's BBQ always offers an amazing meal, and I can honestly say that I've never been disappointed.
Personally, I love trying their various sandwiches and Southern sides. The Maryland crab soup is a must-try – I believe it's the best I've ever had.
As someone who's been going to Smoky's BBQ for years, I can attest that it's truly a great Carroll County establishment.
Captain Dan's Crabhouse
One of my absolute favorite spots to grab a delicious seafood meal is Captain Dan's Crabhouse.
This crab house has been around since 1971, and their experience definitely shows in the quality and taste of their seafood dishes.
A few weeks ago, I decided to treat myself and ordered 1.5 lbs of steamed crab legs along with two platters.
The taste and quality of the seafood were simply amazing.
As someone who has sampled a lot of seafood dishes, I can confidently say that the scallops at Captain Dan's were some of the freshest I've tasted in Maryland.
And their broiled crab cake was exceptionally delicious, with the perfect balance of lump crab meat.
The restaurant itself is quite quaint and clean, offering a wide variety of seafood, both fresh and cooked.
One of the things that stood out for me was the friendliness and helpfulness of the young people working there.
They made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
Captain Dan's also has an on-site market for crabs to go, and I remember ordering a 1/2 bushel of crabs for a cookout last summer.
Not only were they priced reasonably, but the taste was simply incredible.
I've also picked up lunch at Captain Dan's with my partner, and their seasoned fries alone are worth a trip from anywhere in the area!
Frank's Pizza
Last Friday night, my family and I decided to try out Frank's Pizza for dinner.
I had heard a lot of good things about their pizza, and I must say, they did not disappoint!
We ordered a variety of pizzas, including a Chicago style, which could have used a bit more oil, but was still delicious.
The Frank's pies were massive and filled with mouth-watering toppings.
I also tried their gluten-free cauliflower crust pizza, and it was hands down the best take-out gluten-free pizza I've ever had.

Food is served quickly, and on occasion, they've even brought out an extra roll and dessert for me on the house!

I love how they pair locally sourced gastropub fare with a great selection of draft beers and live music.
During my first visit, I tried their pulled pork sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious.
I decided to substitute asparagus for the fries, and the combination was perfect.
The prices are quite reasonable as well, with my meal costing around $13.59.

So I recently decided to give Winfield Inn a try after hearing mixed reviews from friends.
I ordered a sub, and, to my disappointment, it came with only two slices of lunch meat, and the food was cold.
On the other hand, my friend's Reuben sandwich looked great, and they claimed it was the best they'd ever had.
We also enjoyed playing some pool while we were there, and even though we're terrible at it, it was a fun time.
The crab pretzel and meatloaf were delicious, and the sweet tea reminded me of North Carolina.

One of my go-to spots for Asian food in the area is Asian Taste.
Although it may not be the top sushi place you could find, they manage to serve it quite well.
Speaking of their menu, it is quite large but not overwhelming.
When served with my order, they turned out delicious and generous.
I've also tried their Singapore noodles, peanut chicken, and a variety of sushi options, and I've never been disappointed.
Plus, they offer brown rice as an option, which is a huge plus for me.
Tony's Japanese Restaurant (Sykesville)
As someone who lives nearby, I've had the pleasure of dining at Tony's Japanese Restaurant several times, but my most memorable experience was when I celebrated my birthday there with my family.
From the moment we entered, we were greeted with warm smiles and quickly seated.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a great selection of sushi, hibachi entrees, and cocktails, all served in a traditional atmosphere.

I absolutely love going to Los Aztecas for some delicious, authentic Mexican food.

I highly recommend trying their Taco Salad and pork chops, as well as their perfectly prepared rice and beans.
The guacamole at Los Aztecas is also a must-try, as they bring a cart to your table and prepare it right in front of you!
Although I've found the seating in the booths to be a bit stiff, I prefer the open floor area, where the cushions are more comfortable and have a tall back.
As for the bar area, the drinks are truly top-notch.
New York J & P Pizza
One evening, I decided to try out New York J & P Pizza in Eldersburg.
I had heard great things about their authentic NY-style pizza, so I just had to give it a try.
The pizza was indeed delicious, with fresh dough, real sauce, and cheese that made me feel like I was back in the city.
During my visit, I also tried their wings, which were big, crispy, and absolutely yummy.
The blue cheese and celery served with them were a nice touch as well.
As the night went on, the atmosphere remained calm and quiet, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long week.
What stood out for me at New York J & P Pizza was not only the delicious food but also the fantastic service, especially for a local pizzeria.
