Iya Ibadan Kitchen & Catering Services
Just the other day, I had the pleasure of dining at Iya Ibadan Kitchen & Catering Services.
I must admit, at first glance, it may not look like much, but trust me, their food is absolutely delicious.
I had the éfó riro with mixed meat and ébá, and I was blown away by the flavors and the quality of the meal.
What really stood out to me was the authenticity of the Nigerian African food served here.
It truly feels like you're eating a home-cooked meal made by your own mother.
Plus, the place is clean and well-maintained, which just adds to the overall dining experience.
Jamaikery Bakery
I've been a frequent visitor to Jamaikery Bakery for years, and the place never disappoints me.
Whenever I have a craving for a good patty and coco bread, this Caribbean restaurant is the first place that comes to mind.
The chicken patties are perfect for me, as they aren't too spicy, and the coco bread is always fresh and delicious.
I must admit, sometimes I end up tasting more of the coco bread and the patty's outer crust than the filling itself, but it's still a delightful combination to savor.
As someone who grew up around Jamaican cuisine, I can confidently say that this place offers some of the best patties I've ever had.
I've even had patties sent to me from Jamaica, but Jamaikery Bakery's patties still stand out.
And if you're lucky enough to visit when they have fried chicken available, do yourself a favor and grab a piece – you won't regret it!
What makes Jamaikery Bakery even more special to me is that I've been coming here since I was a kid.
It brings back fond memories, and every time I want a patty, I know exactly where to go.
In fact, I often can't resist finishing one patty in the car before even getting home – they're simply that irresistible!
Ismay's
One of my favorite places to grab a bite in the neighborhood is Ismay Caribbean & American Restaurant.
This hidden gem is a true delight for the senses.
The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm and welcoming ambiance, which sets the tone for a great dining experience.
The food at Ismay's is simply divine – full of flavor and beautifully presented.
I've tried quite a few dishes on the menu, and some of my favorites include the stewed chicken, roti, and spinach.
Their sandwiches are also a great option for a satisfying meal that won't break the bank.
With prices ranging from $20-$30, it's easy to see why this place is so popular among locals.
What truly sets Ismay's apart from other Caribbean restaurants in the area is the exceptional service.
Masah Restaurant
One day, I was scrolling through Instagram when I came across an ad for Masah Restaurant, a halal eatery not far from my place.
I've always been a fan of trying out new neighborhood spots, so I decided to give it a shot.
When I walked in, I was struck by the restaurant's warm and inviting atmosphere.
I was eager to try their diverse menu, which boasted a variety of healthy options.
One of the dishes I ordered was the salmon cakes, which I had seen a review mention could be cooked a bit better.
However, when I tried them, I was pleasantly surprised!
They were plump and juicy, bursting with flavor.
I also tried their famous bacon, egg, and cheese croissant, and now I understand why it's such a hit – it was absolutely delicious!
Another highlight of my visit to Masah Restaurant was their ginger shots.
They weren't too strong, but they provided a refreshing kick.
Plus, they're complimentary with your order, so don't hesitate to ask.
Coney Island American Restaurant
I've always considered Coney Island to be a hidden gem in my neighborhood.
It's a lovely little American restaurant that never disappoints me, especially during those early morning breakfast cravings.
Even though it was really early, I noticed that the street cleaner was also putting in his order, which goes to show how popular this spot is among locals.
The service was fast, and the food tasted amazing, as usual.
One of my favorite dishes at Coney Island is their fish and grits, which is always cooked to perfection.
Tasha's Caribbean & Soul Food Cuisine
As a regular customer of Tasha's Caribbean & Soul Food Cuisine, I can confidently say that this place feels like my home away from home.
The moment you step inside, the warm and welcoming ambiance immediately embraces you.
It truly feels like a community restaurant where everyone is treated like family.
Every time I dine here, I'm blown away by the incredible flavors and the love poured into each dish.
From my personal favorite, the chicken stew with macaroni and cheese, yams, and sweet plantains, to the honey jerk salmon and the mouthwatering peach cobbler, every bite is a testament to the passion and skill behind the cooking.
My family and I can never get enough of this place and always look forward to our next visit.
One of the things that set Tasha's apart is that everything is cooked fresh when you order, which means you're always treated to authentic, home-cooked meals.
I've made it my mission to try everything on the menu, and so far, I've never been disappointed.
The Curry Goat, Stuffed Salmon, OxTails, and the to-die-for Banana Pudding Cheesecake are just a few of the many dishes that keep me coming back for more.

One of my favorite places to grab a meal in town is Charlie's Restaurant.
This American restaurant has never let me down, especially when it comes to their breakfast options.
I've been visiting Charlie's for years, and their consistent quality and friendly customer service keep me coming back.
Although I've only tried their breakfast menu, I'm sure their other meal options are just as fantastic.
Some of my must-haves include their scrumptious waffles and super buttery grits.
The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent choice for early-morning meals with friends or family.
Golden Wings Fish And Chicken
As someone who lives nearby, I can personally vouch for the excellent food at Golden Wings Fish and Chicken.
I've had their catfish on numerous occasions, and it's always been fantastic.
I've even found that calling and ordering ahead makes the experience all the better since the parking can be a bit tricky at times.
Recently, I hosted a party where I ordered a salad tray, a large chicken order, and a 25-piece catfish from Golden Wings.
The food was not only delicious but also very fresh, and everyone at the party loved it.
Their prices are also quite reasonable, making it a great option for gatherings or simply a casual meal.
For me, Golden Wings Fish and Chicken even beats the local ambassador chicken wings spot.
Libretti's Restaurant
I recently dined at Libretti's Restaurant for my mom's birthday dinner, and it was an awesome experience.
The ambiance was perfect - dim lighting and not too loud, making it a perfect place to enjoy a family dinner or celebrate a special occasion.
The food at Libretti's is always excellent, and this time was no exception.
Their Italian dishes, both classic and new twists, were served family style, and the portions were generous.
We also have leftovers packed to enjoy at home.
Gyro Grill
I just had to try out this Mediterranean restaurant called the Gyro Grill in my neighborhood after hearing so much about it.
My order consisted of the mixed platter, which included lamb and chicken over rice, along with a side of chicken wings and tenders combo with fries.
To my delight, their lamb was incredibly tender and well-seasoned, and the chicken was also pretty good.
I absolutely loved their hot sauce, which was actually quite spicy.
Moreover, they offered small sauce containers, which were perfect for dipping my food in.
Jade Garden
I recently moved to the area from NYC and was looking for a good Chinese restaurant.
After reading some reviews, I decided to give Jade Garden a try.
I was initially a bit hesitant, but the positive reviews convinced me to place an order.
To my surprise, my shrimp and broccoli with white rice was prepared in just 5 minutes!
I must say, the food was extremely hot, fresh, and delicious.
Jade Garden has become my go-to takeout spot for Chinese food in Jersey, as I have had some amazing food and service there.
Aly's Restaurant
I have been a regular customer of Aly's Restaurant, a Haitian restaurant, for quite some time now, and the flavors are absolutely amazing.
The restaurant offers a nice blend of spices that always leaves me craving for more.
Their oxtails, fried turkey, and black rice are to die for.
And I'm not alone in saying this – I have recommended Aly's to many friends and family members, and all of them agree that the food is truly one of a kind.
The customer service at this restaurant is also outstanding.
Even if I have to wait for 10 minutes, I know my food is being prepared with love and care.
The prices at Aly's Restaurant are quite fair, and they offer generous portions that make every visit worth it.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of dining at L'Hirondelle Restaurant with my family.

Champions Chicken & Pizza Restaurant (City of Orange)
I am so glad to have discovered Champions Chicken & Pizza Restaurant in my neighborhood!

The Alfredo with garlic knots and half chicken is a game-changer - it's even better in person than the pictures on their website.
One thing that sets Champions Chicken & Pizza apart is the excellent customer service.
I've never had a bad experience, and their delivery is super fast too.
I appreciate that they let me place an order and pay when I get there, making pick-up a breeze.

Sarrah Cafe Trinbago is hands down one of the best Caribbean restaurants around.

Thankfully, the kitchen stays open until midnight, so I can satisfy my cravings for their delicious dishes even on late nights.
Star Tavern (City of Orange)
Last weekend, I decided to finally give Star Tavern a visit after hearing about it so much.
It's a casual bar and eatery with booth seating that serves thin-crust pizzas plus Italian and sandwich specialties.
My friends and I started our meal with mozzarella sticks, which were really good.
We also tried their sangria, which was tasty but only available by the glass, not in pitchers.
When our pizza finally arrived, we were a bit surprised by the size and the thinness of the crust.
However, it turned out to be incredibly delicious, and the crust didn't crack when we folded the slices.
I have to admit, I didn't need a to-go box as I finished all of my pieces.
One thing I appreciated was the bustling atmosphere, filled with Little League teams, softball teams, bowling teams, and others.
It's great to see that this local favorite is still going strong and delivering quality food.
I'll definitely be coming back to Star Tavern for more delicious pizzas and maybe to try something new from their menu.
