As someone who's lived in Dundalk, Maryland, for quite some time now, I've had the pleasure of experiencing the diverse and delicious dining scene this charming town has to offer.
From mouthwatering Italian dishes to classic American comfort food, this town truly has something for everyone.
In this article, I'll be sharing my favorite spots to grab a bite so you, too, can enjoy the best restaurants in Dundalk, Maryland.
Grab your appetite and get ready to explore our vibrant food scene!
I absolutely love The Fountain!
Located in the back corner of Drug City, this local spot never fails to impress with its delicious food and nostalgic atmosphere.
They have a great selection of sandwiches and a few entrees, and I particularly adore their kettle chips with various flavors.
I've tried their Buffalo chicken dip, crab cake (which was amazing!), and sausage.
Oh, and don't even get me started on their ice cream and desserts!
One of the things I love about The Fountain is their daily specials, which tend to sell out quickly.
Apart from their mouth-watering food, they also offer a wide selection of brandies and other alcoholic beverages.
As a fan of bourbon, I find their rolling selection of top-notch bottles to be both fairly priced and a genuine treat.
Their milkshakes are made to order and of excellent quality.
Did I mention they also make soda the way it was made back in the 50s?
Owls Corner Cafe
I recently discovered a hidden gem in our town - Owls Corner Cafe .
I have to admit I haven't had much experience with Puerto Rican cuisine before, but this place has opened up a whole new world of flavors for me.
Their menu is packed with authentic Puerto Rican dishes that come alive with each bite.
I've tried the Tripleta, the pernil sandwich, alcapurrias, rellenos de papas, and pastelillos de guallaba, just to name a few, and every single dish was phenomenal.
The cafe itself has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and their service is top-notch, making you feel right at home.
It truly feels like stepping into a part of the island when you visit this cafe.
One of my favorite things about Owls Corner Cafe is their desserts, especially their tres leches cake - it's hands down the best I've ever tasted!
I'm determined to try everything on their menu, and I keep coming back for more.
Salty Dog's Crab House Inc
I can definitely say that Salty Dog's Crab House Inc has been my go-to spot for crabs all these years.
This tiny, no-frills shop might look unassuming from the outside, but the quality of their steamed crabs, seafood, and sides is truly exceptional.
One thing I love about Salty Dog's is that there's no middleman mark-up. They catch the crabs themselves and steam them on-site with their own unique seasoning.
And trust me, those crabs are always heavy and filled with sweet, delicious meat.
Even though they mostly offer takeout, it's perfect for enjoying at home with friends and family.
Smokin' Joe's Grill
Whenever I have a craving for some good barbecue, I head straight to Smokin' Joe's Grill.
Their pit beef sandwiches are one of my favorites, and they never disappoint.
I usually get mine with a side of fries and a soda, which comes out to around $13.78.
The taste of the pit beef sandwich is incredible!
Another thing I love about Smokin' Joe's is their incredible service.
My daughter once dropped her drink while walking to the car, and they gladly gave us a free refill with a fresh cup, no questions asked.
Their menu has other great options as well.
My daughter loves their mac and cheese, and we can't leave without getting a Black Bottom dessert to complete our meal.
Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality of the food and the overall experience makes it worth it for a special meal.
Dundalk Seafood & Sushi
As a long-time resident of Dundalk, I was excited to finally have a sushi restaurant in the area.
I had heard the buzz about Dundalk Seafood & Sushi and couldn't wait to try it out for myself.
I am happy to report that the hype is real!
I went with a friend, and we spent $50 on a hibachi meal and a variety of sushi rolls.
The food quality was excellent, and the portions were so generous that we ended up taking half of it home for another meal.
We also tried their noodle & scallop hibachi, tuna avocado roll, and a delicious bento box.
The bento box included steak, shrimp in a tasty brown sauce, rice, egg roll, and a California roll.
The restaurant itself had a clean and modern interior, and the menu offered a wide selection at reasonable prices.
Their daily special included a salad, miso soup, and any two rolls, which I felt was a great deal.
Hard Yacht Cafe
One of my favorite spots to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal is the Hard Yacht Cafe.
This low-key eatery serves classic American seafood, like fish tacos, along with a variety of beers, cocktails, and wines.
The ambiance and location overlooking the water make it the perfect waterside dining experience.
Last October, my family and I decided to go there for a Saturday morning brunch.
We arrived around 11:30 am, and it wasn't too busy. My dad ordered the shrimp and crab omelet, which he absolutely loved, while I opted for the breakfast bowl.
The breakfast bowl was good, although I was expecting scrambled eggs mixed in rather than an omelet-like egg layer on top of the other ingredients.
I asked them to hold the bacon and give me scrapple instead, and it turned out to be quite delicious.
On another visit, I tried their seared tuna bites – they were cooked to perfection with a nice seasoning on the outside and a good char-grilled flavor.
My vegetarian partner enjoyed their new buffalo cauliflower wrap.
Other Restaurants Nearby
I finally had the chance to dine at Charleston recently, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
As someone who appreciates high-quality cuisine and top-notch service, Charleston has quickly become one of my favorite dining spots in the city.
Upon entering, the elegance of the white-tablecloth atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a special evening.
The food at Charleston is simply phenomenal. Each dish is presented like a work of art, and the flavors are just as impressive.
I opted for the wine pairing, which I highly recommend; it really enhanced the overall dining experience.
Although I chose the 3-course option, I left feeling completely satisfied.
One of the aspects I love most about Charleston is their commitment to using local and seasonal produce, as well as high-quality ingredients.
I recently visited Charming Elephant for the first time, and I must say, it was quite an experience!
I had heard great things about the place from friends, and they did not exaggerate.
I went there during happy hour and was pleasantly surprised by their menu.
The Thai tea shots were amazing, and I couldn't resist trying a few more items on the menu.
Everything I tasted was simply delicious!
One dish that truly stood out for me was the "Three Flavored Fish".
It was a delightful combination of tangy, sweet, sour, and a hint of heat, making it a unique and scrumptious treat.
I also couldn't resist trying their desserts and cocktails, especially the "Perfume of Faeries" cocktail, which turned out to be the best of the bunch.
There's nothing quite like a night out at Samos Restaurant in our neighborhood.
I've been coming to this no-reservations, cash-only, and BYOB institution since I can remember.
They have been serving Greek classics since 1977, and the food is amazing!
Every time I get some cash, I make sure to stop by and indulge in my favorite dishes.
The authentic cuisine keeps me coming back for more. I can never say no to their tzatziki and Greek salad - it's simply the best.
Their lamb is to die for, and the gyros are heavenly.
I always make sure to order the house salad with sardines and hummus, which is unbelievably good. And don't even get me started on their pitta bread - it's fluffy and full of flavor.
What I really love about Samos, aside from the food, is the fantastic service.
When my friends and I are in the mood for sharing, we order an assortment of appetizers to try. The grilled octopus never disappoints, and the grilled pork kebab is a must-try.
Shawarma & Pizza N' Kebab
I recently visited Shawarma & Pizza N' Kebab and had a delightful experience.
Their shawarma platters are truly mouth-watering, and I can't wait to try the wrap next time.
I've heard mixed reviews about this place, with some people praising their chicken shawarma while others found the beef sandwich to be a bit chewy.
Nevertheless, I can vouch for the authenticity and taste of their dishes.
I've tried both their chicken and beef shawarma, and I have to say it's the best in town. Plus, their pizza is fresh and delicious.
One of the best things about Shawarma & Pizza N' Kebab is its late hours – open till 11 pm.
It's perfect for a late-night craving or a quick meal after work.
Darbar Indian Restaurant
I recently dined at Darbar Indian Restaurant, and let me tell you, it was a delightful experience.
Everything, from the serene white-tablecloth ambiance to the great food, made for an unforgettable meal.
fter hearing so many good things about this restaurant, I was finally able to taste the magic for myself.
The daily lunch buffet was what caught my attention initially, and I was not disappointed.
The variety of dishes offered was quite impressive, and I found myself trying a little bit of everything.
The flavors were rich and authentic, reminding me of traditional Indian cuisine.
I also loved that the restaurant offers Halal food, catering to a diverse range of tastes and preferences.
One thing that really stood out to me was the rice pudding.
It was honestly one of the best I have ever had, and I couldn't resist going back for seconds.
The portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side, but the richness and authenticity of the food made up for it.
The prices were slightly on the higher side, but given the quality of the food and the excellent service, it was well worth it.
I've also had the pleasure of trying Darbar's delivery, and the food tasted just as amazing as it did in the restaurant.
The portions were generous, and the food was still piping hot when it arrived.
I can't wait to go back for dinner and try more of their dishes.
Woody's Pub Grub
One of my favorite spots to unwind after a long day is Woody's Pub Grub.
It's the perfect place to hang out, enjoy some delicious food, and engage in awesome conversations with fellow patrons.
Woody's serves up restaurant-quality food with generous portion sizes, so be prepared to bring your appetite!
One of my personal favorites is their rockfish bites appetizer - they're simply amazing.
I also appreciate how their steamed shrimp is always perfectly cooked and not overly seasoned.
And don't even get me started on the garlic parmesan truffle fries - hot, crispy, and not overly greasy at all.
My partner loves their burgers, which are cooked to perfection every time.
We've also had the Chesapeake quesadilla and the Chesapeake burger, both of which were scrumptious.
We occasionally visit Woody's during off-peak hours since it can get quite crowded during busy times, but the food and experience are always worth it.
Annabel Lee Tavern
One of my favorite spots in the city has to be Annabel Lee Tavern.
This Poe-themed haunt is perfect for a cozy evening filled with delicious food, perfect drinks, and a unique atmosphere that's hard to find elsewhere.
As soon as I walk through the door, I'm instantly transported to a world dedicated to Poe and Baltimore, with beautiful artwork adorning the walls and classic music playing softly in the background.
The tavern offers a New American menu, and I can never resist ordering their Southwest risotto and homemade mac and cheese.
And if you're a fan of crab cakes, trust me, Annabel Lee Tavern has some of the best.
They use more crab meat than filler, and the complimentary bacon Brussels sprouts and homemade mashed potatoes are to die for.
I also appreciate the extensive wine and beer list at Annabel Lee Tavern, which perfectly complements their signature cocktails.
The bartenders are always welcoming and make sure to recommend the perfect drink to suit my taste.

During my most recent visit, I ordered the lasagna, and I must say, it was the best lasagna I've ever had.
The Oreo creme dessert was equally delicious.
The other day, I decided to treat myself to some delicious sushi and went to Sizka Restaurant - and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a clean and modern atmosphere that instantly put me at ease.
The enticing smells in the air made it incredibly difficult to choose from their menu - I wanted to try everything!
I couldn't help but order their omakase experience, which turned out to be an excellent decision.
The tuna tartare was absolutely divine, and the Caribbean roll left me craving more.
I also couldn't resist trying the wagyu nigiri, and the salmon was so smooth it practically melted in my mouth.
Huck's American Craft
I can't help but gush about how much I love Huck's American Craft.
One of my favorite things about living in Baltimore is the amazing food scene, and this place is an absolute gem.
The atmosphere is hip and laid-back, making it a great spot to unwind after a long day.
But what really keeps me coming back is the delicious and creative comfort food, which they serve up alongside craft beers and cocktails.
My go-to appetizer is the Boardwalk Soft Pretzel, which I can confidently say is the best pretzel I've ever tasted.
I've ordered it multiple times, and it never disappoints.
The New York Chicken & Waffle is another favorite of mine - the perfect combination of sweet and savory.
The Pretzel Pizza is something I just had to try, and I was blown away by how good it was.
I couldn't even pause to take a photo before digging in!
To top it all off, they offer bottomless mimosas on weekends, which are always a fun addition to any meal.
Twist Fells Point
I recently decided to treat myself to a meal at Twist Fells Point, a stylish neighborhood bistro I've heard my neighbors rave about.
I was not disappointed!
I was really impressed with the variety of Mediterranean-inspired American cuisine on their all-day menu, and I finally settled on trying the seafood quesadilla and lobster ravioli.
I can't say enough about how delicious everything was, including the Caesar salad I ordered as a side.
Even the croutons were amazing - perfectly toasted and actually tasted like bread, not those typical crunchy salad rocks.
The comfortable outdoor seating area was a delightful spot to enjoy my meal, and I noticed other diners enjoying dishes like the Parisian croissant almond French toast and the California omelet.
While the service was a little slow at times, it allowed for a laid-back dining experience, which was nice for a change.
HomeSlyce - Canton
One evening, I decided to give HomeSlyce - Canton a try, and I was not disappointed! I ordered their meat pizza, and it was absolutely delicious.
They even provided chili flakes and Parmesan dust, which added a nice touch to the pizza.
While waiting for my pizza, I couldn't help but notice their impressive beer wall, which I'll definitely need to explore further on my next visit.
The service was quick and efficient - I only had to wait about 10 minutes for my pizza to be cooked.
I've also been to HomeSlyce during their happy hour, and they offer great food and drink specials.
The baked fries are crispy and tasty, and the wings had a great flavor.
What's more, there's a game room upstairs that makes the place kid-friendly.
A Taste of Yemen and the Gulf Restaurant
I recently discovered a hidden gem in our neighborhood: Yemen & Gulf Restaurant.
This unassuming, no-frills spot has quickly become a favorite of mine and my family.
We stumbled upon it while exploring a new cuisine, and despite our initial hesitation due to its modest appearance and low prices, we were so glad we gave it a try.
The food is simply amazing - the meat falls right off the bones, and the rice is cooked to perfection.
My mom tried a chicken dish that she raved about, and I can't forget to mention the delicious hummus and the complimentary tea they serve.
It's really hard to beat the pricing here, making it a great spot for a budget-friendly meal.
In the span of just two weeks, we've visited four times and tried something new on each occasion.
Lee's Pint & Shell
The other night, I decided to head over to Lee's Pint & Shell for some drinks and seafood with a few friends.
As soon as we walked in, we could tell it was a popular spot among the locals.
We managed to grab a table outside, which was perfect since they're so dog-friendly – our furry companion was more than welcome to join us.
Once we sat down, we couldn't resist ordering a round of their 75-cent oysters during happy hour.
It's such a steal, considering how fresh and delicious they are.
To accompany our oysters, we dove into their extensive list of cocktails and beers.
I opted for a refreshing draft beer while my friends went for some creative cocktails.
We also decided to share a few other dishes from their seafood-centric menu, like the mussels, oysters, and fish and chips.
Everything was amazing and bursting with flavor.
Aside from the fantastic food and drinks, we also appreciated the laid-back atmosphere and friendly service.
One of the most memorable dining experiences I've ever had was at Ikaros Restaurant, a family-run Greek eatery.
It was my birthday, and I decided to treat myself and my mother to the delicious dishes they offer.
I never expected that this choice would lead to a night filled with warmth, hospitality, and exceptional food.
We started our meal by ordering various mezes, including stuffed grape leaves with a bearnaise sauce, Taramosalata, and tender, flavorful octopus.
We also enjoyed their eggplant salad, sardines in olive oil, and pasticcio, which were all top-quality dishes.
However, the best part of the evening was when Patricia surprised me with a mini baklava cake, complete with a candle, and the people sang "Happy Birthday" to me.
Their genuine warmth and kindness touched my heart and made the evening unforgettable.
Gunther & Co.
I recently visited Gunther & Co for a happy hour with some colleagues after work, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience.
The venue is an airy bi-level space with a beautiful outdoor patio and bar.
The area is really nice, and the service was top-notch.
We started off with some oysters, which were excellent, and the pork dumplings were very tasty.
The cocktails, however, were the highlight of the evening.
They were creative and delicious, making it a perfect spot for unwinding after a long day.
We had a few entrée choices to pick from, and my friend and I decided to split the shrimp and grits and the blueberry French toast meals. Both were absolutely delightful!
In addition to the entrees, we were served a basket of freshly made blueberry lemon bread, donut holes, and mini biscuits.
The biscuits were particularly scrumptious, and the entire event was a great success.
Robbie's Bar & Grill
I absolutely love going to Robbie's Bar & Grill – it's the perfect spot for a night out with friends or family.
The atmosphere is casual and cozy, and they always have something going on, whether it's live music or just a game of pool.
They even remembered our first time visiting and gave us some great recommendations on what to try.
The food at Robbie's is something I never expected from a small bar and grill – it's amazing!
From appetizers to desserts, everything I've tried has been delicious.
Some of my favorites include the grilled chicken Caesar salad, Robbie's burger with onion rings, and their fantastic cheesecake egg rolls.
And if you're in the mood for brunch, they serve it too!
One thing I appreciate as a local is their commitment to being a small, family-owned business.
