The Vintner's Tavern
I recently dined at The Vintner's Tavern and was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and delicious food.
Tucked away in a business complex, it's a refreshing alternative to the bustling shopping centers nearby.
Making reservations online was a breeze, and I'd highly recommend it as the space is rather intimate.
The interior is simple and could use some sprucing up, but I have high hopes that the addition of the wine room will bring a more lively ambiance to the space.
Now, let's talk about the food and drinks.
With a well-stocked bar and ten signature cocktails, we were not disappointed.
The drinks were full of flavor and certainly didn't skimp on the alcohol.
We also enjoyed the Yellow Tomato and Strawberry Bruschetta, which was a delightful appetizer bursting with unique flavors.
As for the main course, I had the Paella – it was tasty but could have had a bit more substance for the price.
My partner had the Bay Scallop Pasta, which was beautifully presented and abundant in quantity, although the sauce could have used a little more flavor.
Ike's Love & Sandwiches
Oh, how I love my sandwiches!
Living in Chino, I have quite a few options to choose from, but Ike's Love & Sandwiches has become my ultimate favorite.
They have the most creative and delicious sandwiches I've ever tasted.
I usually go for the "Matt Cain" with all the toppings and their Dutch crunch bread - it's simply amazing!
You can find their menu and location details here.
One of the unique aspects of Ike's is that they offer halal chicken, which is great for those who prefer it.
I'm hoping they'll add more halal options in the future.
I've visited several Ike's locations, including the original Ike's Place, and I've had nothing but positive experiences.
Owen's Bistro
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Owen's Bistro, and the experience was truly delightful.
The brick walls and covered courtyard provided a cozy ambiance for enjoying inventive New American fare.
The menu was quite impressive, and I couldn't resist trying their Ratatouille on a sourdough appetizer, which was absolutely delicious.
For my entree, I opted for the Pumpkin Pork Potpie and was not disappointed – it was the perfect comfort food for a chilly evening.
Aside from the wonderful food, the 2017 Stags' Leap Cabernet that I ordered was a great choice and complemented my meal perfectly.
What truly intrigued me was learning about Owen's Bistro's secret little deli next door called Secret Sammie.
Jia Pon Bakery & Cafe
I've always enjoyed exploring new cafes in the neighborhood, and recently I stumbled upon Jia Pon Bakery & Cafe, which turned out to be a delightful experience!
As soon as I entered, I was impressed by the classy décor and the perfectly-sized menu offering a variety of lunch and breakfast pastries.
I couldn't resist trying their mini pizza with a hotdog and, on the baker's recommendation, I also grabbed six assorted macaroons.
I must say, each macaroon was a delight to savor, and the mini pizza had the perfect texture and freshness.
It certainly didn't taste like something that had been sitting in a microwave for hours.
They were quick to offer me a cup of coffee, and I found their prices to be quite reasonable.
It's small businesses like Jia Pon Bakery & Cafe that add a unique touch to the community.
I've also heard great things about their strawberry croissant, breakfast croissant, and cappuccino.

They serve mouthwatering Basque-inspired dishes in a warm, rustic setting that feels like a home away from home.
Celebrating special occasions here is a must for us.
I remember the excitement of dining out after a year of not doing so due to the pandemic.
Even when they were busy with a full house, they took excellent care of us.
The food always blows me away.
From roasted chicken to lamb and pork chops, there's something for everyone.
But my all-time favorite dish is their oxtails.
The menu changes often, so it's a good idea to call ahead and find out the specialties of the day.
I particularly enjoy their family-style dinners, where we're served bread, cheese, soup, salad, an entree of the day, steak, fries, and wine.
Not to mention, they have a full bar, so you can order any type of cocktail or drink your heart desires.
It's a great place to unwind and feel like you're part of a close-knit family while savoring the flavors of the Basque country.
Casa Victoria
I recently decided to give Casa Victoria a try after hearing mixed reviews from friends and family.
Although the prices had gone up a bit, I didn't mind because the food was simply delicious.
Their pozole really hit the spot, and I appreciated that they served deep-fried hard-shell tacos, which are my personal favorite.
I also tried the birria and carnitas taco plates, which were good.
Chino Hills Pizza Company
One of my go-to spots for delicious pizza and a lively atmosphere is Chino Hills Pizza Company.
The pizza is always crispy yet soft on the inside and thin yet sturdy - truly a 5-star pizza experience.
I've been there multiple times, and the quality has always been consistent.
Whenever I visit, I make sure to order the cheesy bread, which is an absolute must-try.
The restaurant is also a great place to catch a game, as they have sports on TV, and the atmosphere is perfect for a night out with friends or family.

I found myself visiting Julie's Cafe for a relaxing brunch experience.
The moment I walked in, what really stood out to me was the atmosphere and the food.
I couldn't go wrong with their dishes - the flavor and the amount of ingredients were very generous for the price.
Julie's Cafe was quite busy, with only one cook available, but my food arrived in good time.
The cafe's cleanliness and cute decorations also added to its appeal.
I particularly enjoyed sitting outdoors, surrounded by small plants.
My friends and I ordered a breakfast bagel and two sandwiches, which tasted fresh, juicy, and flavorful.
Every bite of my brunch was an absolute delight!
Pho Island
I'm always in search of great pho places around town, and I must say that Pho Island is one of the best I've ever been to.
The plaza it's in may need a little fixing up, but don't let that fool you – the food and service here are top-notch.
What I love about this place is how fast the food comes out, and it's always piping hot.
Plus, the bean sprouts, Thai basil, green lime wedges, and jalapeno served with the pho are so fresh you can taste the difference.
Feeling a bit adventurous, I once ordered their bone marrow, and it was a unique and fun dining experience.
The bone marrow was so tender that I could easily remove the meat and tendon using only chopsticks.
And if you're a fan of oxtail soup, Pho Island has it too, although it's not on the menu – just look for it posted on the wall.
Whenever I visit Pho Island, I always have a great experience.
The portions are generous and satisfying, making it the perfect spot for a quick and delicious meal.
Shima Japanese Restaurant
One of my go-to spots for a fun and delicious dinner in town is Shima.
It's a Japanese sushi house offering a wide variety of raw fish, plus steak and seafood entrees.
I've been there several times with friends and family, and we always have a blast.
The teppanyaki-style dinners are always entertaining, with spinning utensils, dad jokes, and flying eggs.
And, of course, the plumes of fire make for some great photo opportunities.
The food is consistently good, whether we're dining in or picking up an order to go.
I remember taking my mom to Shima for a Mother's Day dinner, and we both absolutely loved the lobster sushi.
It was so flavorful and fresh.
The last time I went, I sat at the bar with my partner, and we just ordered appetizers.
The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive.
I like that Shima is both family and kid-friendly, as well as a great spot for a casual date.
While there isn't a happy hour, the drink prices are reasonable.
Wine is about $8, and beer is regularly priced, which isn't too bad.

This compact restaurant has a full bar and a lovely patio, perfect for enjoying warm, sunny days.
They offer a range of casual fare, including salads, sandwiches, and, of course, a delightful breakfast menu.
Just last weekend, I met up with some friends and family for brunch at Riverside Grill & Bar.

Topo's Restaurant Bar & Banquet Facility
Let me tell you about one of my favorite spots in town: Topo's Restaurant Bar & Banquet Facility.
I've been ordering takeout from Topo's pretty frequently, and every time, I'm impressed by the generous portions and the personal touch they add to every order.
Their culinary offerings have taken on a new, eclectic twist, and I just can't get enough.
Whether you order once or every day of the week, you're guaranteed a delicious, mouthwatering meal.

As a fan of mesquite-grilled meats, I must say that their asada, suadero, lengua, and alpastor are definitely on fire!
The flavors just burst in your mouth, leaving you wanting more.
The chicken salad is another must-try.
The chicken is so tender it practically melts in your mouth.
Add a little habanero sauce for a spicy kick, and you've got yourself a tasty late-night snack.
I also tried their ceviche once, and it was incredibly fresh and flavorful.
Birrieria Xolos
I have to say, I've been to Birrieria Xolos a few times, and I have mixed feelings about it.
On one hand, their Ramen and quesadilla are absolutely delicious, and they offer a great variety of sides to add to your food.
However, I also had a disappointing experience when I was looking forward to a nice lunch there.
The meat was good, but the flavor just wasn't there.
It was very bland and almost tasteless.
I had to add a lot of salsa, lemon, and salt just to enjoy it.
The only highlight of that visit was their strawberries agua fresca.
It was very good!
If you're looking for birria tacos, this place is solid but doesn't come with consume, unfortunately.
Their Taco Tuesday special is great, though!
You can get four tacos and an Agua Fresca for just $8.99.

As we sat down, we couldn't help but notice the lively atmosphere - it's a place where you can just feel the positive energy in the air.
Now, let's talk about the food.
I ordered the tostada mitotera, which was a heavenly mix of pulpo, shrimp, aguachile, callo, and their in-house seafood hot sauce.
The flavors were bold and fresh, and I can confidently say it was one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had.
My partner was equally impressed, and we both couldn't get enough of the micheladas they serve.

On most occasions, the service has been excellent.
I've even received some complimentary treats like orange slices and fried stuffed jalapeños, which were a lovely touch.
Dono Sushi Cafe
I've been a regular at Dono Sushi Cafe for years now.
Over the years, I've noticed that the prices have increased, but I completely understand that businesses need to adjust for various reasons.
I've learned to navigate their menu, and I discovered that they have a happy hour section!
So, whenever I'm craving sushi on a budget, I make sure to visit Dono between 3 pm to 5 pm.
Although the happy hour menu is limited, it definitely helps to keep the costs down.
One time, I went there with a large group of 13 people, and the service was absolutely fantastic.
They managed our big family without any issues or mistakes, which was impressive.

My partner had a glazed pork chop, and he had no regrets about it either.
To top it all off, the Thai iced tea was fresh, and the taro drink was deliciously sweet.

One thing I love about Urban Fish Taco is their diverse menu.
While their fish tacos are undoubtedly delicious, they also offer asada, fried chicken, and veggie tacos, all of which I highly recommend.
Personally, I prefer corn tortillas, but you can't go wrong with either option.
Their scallops and shrimp plate is another favorite of mine, just be sure to request the butter on the side if you prefer a lighter dish.
To make the experience even more memorable, I suggest trying their cucumber margarita on the rocks – it's like a refreshing cucumber agua cocktail with a spicy twist of chamoy around the rim.
It's the perfect pairing for any of their tasty tacos.

I also appreciate the variety of options they offer, including their delicious gyros.
The service can be a bit slow at times, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
In addition to their savory dishes, Luna Grill Chino Hills also offers fantastic desserts.
The baklava is one of the best I've had, and my son absolutely loves their pita bread.
