Paul Manno's Restaurant

For someone who takes their Italian cuisine seriously, there is no better place in St Louis than Paul Manno's Restaurant.

Hidden away in a strip mall and walking in is like stepping into a slice of Italy.

The classy ambiance, complete with the glittering chandeliers and white tablecloths, instantly sets a warm, welcoming tone.

The service at Paul Manno's is nothing short of first-class.

But it's the food that truly takes the limelight.

The menu offers a variety of sumptuous dishes, with everything from pasta to seafood, not to mention their specialty - veal.

However, my personal favorite has to be the lamb chops.

Cooked to perfection and seasoned with an irresistible lemon sauce, they are the best I've ever tasted.

The pasta and cannelloni are equally noteworthy, each bursting with authentic Italian flavors that transport your taste buds straight to the heart of Italy.

Manno’s has a fantastic wine selection and offers some of the best cocktails in the city.

Even though I didn't have room for dessert after enjoying their delicious entrees, I couldn't help but eye the dessert tray, which looked nothing short of decadent.

Westchester Restaurant and Bar

Let me tell you about my secret dinner spot, Westchester Restaurant and Bar.

It's nestled right here in my hometown and is quickly becoming the talk of the town.

The first time I walked in, I was immediately captivated by the warm ambiance and the buzz of happy diners.

Now, onto the drinks.

They have an excellent cocktail list that rivals the best.

The French 75 is one of my personal favorites, a refreshing blend with just the right kick that prepares your palate for the feast that lies ahead.

For food, the Waygu burger is a must-try, cooked to perfection with medium-rare delight.

Pair it with truffle fries, and you've got yourself a winner.

Sharjah Grill

From the moment I stepped into Sharjah Mediterranean Grill, I was welcomed with a warm greeting and a beautifully prepared table.

The place may be small, but it's brimming with the mouthwatering flavors of Mediterranean cuisine.

My taste buds were on a delightful journey starting with the philly steak, grilled chicken, and beef rice bowls.

Each dish was flavorful, and a tad spicy, which I absolutely love, but what really stole the show were the mixed meat wraps.

They were easily some of the best I've had in the area.

Of course, any visit to a Mediterranean restaurant wouldn't be complete without hummus and falafel, and Sharjah Grill didn't disappoint.

The hummus was super creamy, and the falafel was perfectly crisp.

The fries, too, were exceptional, easily surpassing any other I've had previously.

Though the indoor space is a bit tight, they've made good use of the outdoor area with tables perfect for enjoying a meal under the St. Louis sky.

Dumplings & Tea

Every city has a hidden gem, a place that manages to perfectly balance quality, service, and ambiance.

In Chesterfield Valley, that place is Dumplings & Tea.

This spot is a recent addition to the local dining scene, but it's quickly become a favorite of mine.

Visiting this eatery on a cold, rainy day introduced me to their ramen, which I enjoyed while my friend savored their poke bowl.

The food was not only noteworthy for its taste, but its prompt arrival at our table was impressive.

The innovative ordering system, which involved scanning a QR Code from the comfort of our seats, made our experience even more seamless.

The dumplings, however, are the stars of the show, and I am eager to return to sample them.

Although my oolong tea could have been hotter, it was a minor quibble in an otherwise perfect meal.

The bubble teas here are a delight, too, with the honey-dew milk tea with tapioca standing out as a personal favorite.

My fellow residents of Chesterfield Valley, if you're on the hunt for a place that offers flavorful dishes, friendly service, and a variety of options to satisfy your cravings, look no further than Dumplings & Tea.

Trust me, one bite of their fried pork dumplings, and you'll feel like you've taken a bite out of New York right here in Saint Louis!

And for the parents out there, this place has even managed to win over my 11-year-old son, who loved their dumplings.

Spiro's Restaurant

It's a Saturday night, and I find myself craving something different.

Boom, it hits me - I haven't had a good Greek meal in a while.

My mind immediately drifts to Spiro's Restaurant, the jewel of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine in my city, St. Louis.

When I get there, the place is abuzz - a good sign.

Then comes the Saganaki - oh, the Saganaki!

It's like a cake of Kaserri, and I find myself gobbling it up like I haven't eaten in days.

The Avegolemno is a delight as well - not too lemony, just the way I like it.

The Greek salad comes with a creamy dressing.

I'm not usually a fan of creamy dressings, but this one is surprisingly good.

I also ordered a small Horiatiki since the Greek salad isn't as big as I'd hoped, and it turns out to be absolute perfection.

The pièce de résistance, however, is the Triple platter - moussaka, dolmades, and pastitio.

It arrives steaming hot, an important but often overlooked detail.

The unique flavors and even the vegetarian options are pitch-perfect.

After the incredible dinner, I decide to get the Baklava for dessert.

I've heard it's fantastic, and I decide to take it to go.

Annie Gunn's Restaurant

Let me take you on a culinary journey I recently embarked on.

It was a typical Friday night, and I was in the mood to treat myself to a hearty meal.

That's when I decided to head over to Annie Gunn's Restaurant, a relaxed chophouse known for its warm atmosphere, top-tier steaks, and comfort fare.

As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was instantly enveloped by a sense of warmth and coziness.

The menu, apart from your typical chophouse selections, also offered some unique items that piqued my interest.

The quality of the food was simply outstanding.

Each dish was beautifully presented, and the meat and seafood were of excellent quality.

The seafood, in particular, was on par with what you would find at fine dining establishments in St. Louis.

One thing that did catch me off guard was the busyness of the bar area.

It seemed to be a popular spot, with quite a few people passing by.

This didn't detract from my overall dining experience, but it's something to consider if you prefer a quieter setting.

Apart from the restaurant, Annie Gunn's also runs a high-end deli service.

I had the chance to sample some of their offerings, including toasted ravioli and various meats, and I was thoroughly impressed by the flavor and quality of the food.

It's a great option for those days when you want to enjoy Annie Gunn's culinary delights from the comfort of your own home.

Tikka Tangy

I'll never forget the day I decided to try out a new restaurant in the city, Tikka Tangy.

Stepping into this bustling hub at Tikka Tangy, felt like opening the door to a world of exotic flavors.

The first thing that caught my attention was the aroma of spices in the air, making me anticipate the delicious treat that was about to come.

As someone who appreciates a well-seasoned dish, I was thrilled to place an order for the Tikka Tangy Paneer Masala.

The spiciness was tailored to my liking, and the unique taste still lingers on my palate.

For those who love a fiery kick to their food, the green chili paneer masala is a must-try.

The menu at Tikka Tangy is extensive, but the ordering process might seem a bit confusing for first-timers as some of the ingredients are not displayed at the counter.

However, once you get the knack of it, it's a breeze.

The butter chicken wrap, although not very filling, was a delectable delight that was hard to resist.

The plate of Chana Masala and Chicken Tikka Masala, complemented by naan and rice, was a rich and hearty meal.

The baklava served here does not disappoint either.

Aaha! Restaurant

I must confess I stumbled upon a delightful culinary journey at Aaha! Restaurant tucked right in the food court on the lower level of our local mall.

It was my first time venturing into South Indian cuisine - a cuisine that wasn't cooked by a friend's parents, and boy, was I in for a treat!

The moment you step into Aaha!, it's evident how proud they are of their South Indian heritage - not just the usual pan-Indian moniker.

And that's something I appreciate, given how diverse Indian cuisine can be.

Their commitment to their culture shines through, whether it's the authentic Kerala dishes they serve or the reading materials about Kerala they offer to indulge in while your meal is being prepared.

I must tell you, I was a novice to this cuisine, apart from the Malabar Chicken Curry I had tried before.

Imagine my delight when I got to experience a slice of Kerala right here in St Louis!

The Malabar Chicken Curry was flavorful, albeit a little thin for my North Indian palate.

The Beef Fry, however, was a revelation - a mouthwatering concoction of tender meat and delightful seasoning.

The real star, though, was the Pepper Chicken.

The blend of spices made me weep - not from the heat, but the sheer brilliance of it.

The dish was so delicious we wiped it clean within minutes and ordered another to take home.

The Idiyappam, a traditional Kerala dish made of rice flour, could have used a little more salt, and the accompanying coconut milk was a bit too thin for my liking.

But the parottas, freshly made and full of flavor, more than made up for it.

It's safe to say no frozen dish can do justice to Indian breads.

Despite being full from our meal, we couldn't resist trying the filter coffee - a South Indian specialty.

153 Sushi

Every city has its own hidden gem, and for us, it's unquestionably 153 Sushi.

Nestled in the heart of our city, it's the perfect spot for any sushi lover like myself.

You can check them out at 153 Sushi.

The moment you step in, you're greeted by the calm and simple ambiance that relaxes you almost instantly.

The dining area, elegant in its simplicity, sets the mood for a delightful culinary journey.

It's always a pleasure to experience the excellent service they provide, making each visit more enjoyable than the last.

Every visit to 153 Sushi is a gourmet adventure.

They specialize in sushi and sashimi and let me tell you, every bite is a delicious celebration of flavor.

But wait until you try their rice and noodle dishes too!

They've somehow managed to make a simple bowl of rice or a plate of noodles taste like a gourmet dish.

A particular favorite of mine is their white tuna, which absolutely melts in your mouth, much like butter.

Paired with their amazing salmon, it's a combination that I find hard to resist.

The freshness of their seafood is evident in every dish, leaving no doubt about the quality of their food.

Smitty's Food & Drink

Walking into Smitty's Food & Drink feels a bit like coming home.

The kind where everyone knows your name and strangers quickly turn into friends.

The bustling local pub has been a staple in our community since 1988, and it's evident in the hearty greetings that echo around the room from familiar faces.

Here, service is always top-notch.

It's the kind of service that makes you feel special and well taken care of, setting Smitty's apart from other local spots.

One of my favorite things to order is their pork chop.

I remember that moment when a gigantic, perfectly glazed, and impeccably cooked chop was first placed before me.

It's the kind of dining experience that is hard to forget.

And let's not forget about their famous St. Louis-style pizza, generously topped and oozing with flavors.

Smitty's doesn't believe in skimping on any aspect of their dishes, making every meal an indulgent delight.

And if you're a fan of fried catfish sandwiches, trust me, you won't find a better one in the city.

Then there's the Wednesday chicken lunch special - a midweek treat that always seems to lift my spirits.

It arrives at your doorstep piping hot and fresh when ordered for take-out, a real treat for those days when you don't feel like cooking.

Shack Breakfast & Lunch

Imagine waking up Monday morning to the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee, crispy bacon, and fluffy pancakes.

That's a regular treat for me at the Shack Breakfast & Lunch.

This gem, tucked away in the heart of St.

Louis, is my usual breakfast spot, serving a delicious start to my week.

A distinctive feature here is their extensive menu that never fails to satisfy.

On my last visit, I relished their cranberry juice served in a surprisingly large glass, accompanied by a generous chocolate chip pancake and a spectacular side of biscuits and gravy.

Trust me; this was more than enough to fuel my entire day.

Not one to be outdone, my partner ordered the loaded greens skillet topped with chili and sour cream.

The portions were so generous we had to take home the accompanying hash browns.

One of my favorite memories at the Shack is discovering their intriguing "beef straw."

You'll have to visit to find out what that's about.

Also, their "make your own" option is a winner - we had egg whites, bacon, hash browns, and a croissant, which was an absolute delight.

The ambiance at the Shack is casual yet cozy, with a local flair that makes you feel right at home.

Viviano's Festa Italiano

Viviano's Festa Italiano is more than just a restaurant; it's a gathering spot, a place where we share laughter, delicious food and create unforgettable moments.

Set in the heart of our city, the authentic feel of Viviano's is unmatched.

The delectable aroma of the Italian classics fills you the moment you step through the door.

Many an evening, I’ve found myself settling in with friends, sharing conversations, laughter, and a hearty meal.

The regular karaoke nights?

Absolute bliss!

There’s nothing like belting out a tune after a pasta con broccoli or a perfect chicken Marsala.

Our lovely ladies' group often gathers here.

The full bar is always a hit and the service?

Top-notch.

But Viviano's is more than just a restaurant; it's also a market stocking pantry goods.

It's a real lifesaver when you are hosting an office party or a small get-together at home.

Their catering menu is a hit, trust me!

Sauce on the Side

There's this unique place in the city that I stumbled upon called Sauce on the Side.

You might raise an eyebrow at this, but their menu is dedicated solely to salads and calzones - nothing more, nothing less.

Now, don't let that fool you into thinking that the choices are limited.

On the contrary, they have an impressive selection of these two items, enough to thrill any foodie.

On my first visit there, I felt like a child in a candy store, albeit one that sells pesto and veggie calzones instead of lollipops!

The taste and presentation were just as tantalizing as the menu descriptions promised.

Now here's where things get really interesting.

Each month, they feature a special calzone of the month.

Trust me, it's absolutely worth trying!

And if you're a salad person like me, you'll appreciate the freshness and flavor they pack into each bowl.

The cherry on top, at least for me, was discovering that they offer gluten-free dough options.

As someone who's keen on maintaining a balanced diet, this was a pleasant surprise.

And did I mention the craft soda?

It's a must-try!

Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a casual meal with friends, Sauce on the Side never disappoints.

Oh, and don't you dare leave without trying their apple pie; trust me, you'll thank me later.

It's served with Nutella and bananas, a combination that can make even the staunchest dieter throw caution to the wind.

YaYas Euro Bistro

Dressing up for a casual dinner and heading to YaYas Euro Bistro has become somewhat of a tradition in my neighborhood.

This woodsy-chic bar and restaurant, known for its Mediterranean-inspired menu, is a local treasure in the heart of Chesterfield.

It was my boss' birthday, and we decided to celebrate it in style at YaYas.

They seated us in a private room, and the service was nothing short of spectacular.

We indulged in hand-tossed, oak-fired pizzas, the mesmerizing mezze plate, and their tantalizing calamari - each bite was an explosion of fresh, bold flavors.

The scallops, sourced straight from New Zealand, were a crowd favorite.

Brunch at YaYas is another experience altogether.

A buffet spread with countless breakfast and lunch options, it's the perfect way to kickstart a lazy Sunday.

From freshly baked sourdough bread to a variety of innovative breakfast items, brunch is an absolute feast for the senses.

Firefly Grill STL

There's nothing quite like stumbling upon a hidden gem in your own hometown.

For me, that gem is Firefly Grill STL.

Just a hop, skip, and a jump from my front door, this place has quickly become a favorite haunt of mine.

The minute you step through the doors, you are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere.

With its pleasing interior, it's hard not to be drawn in.

The menu, though smaller, is quite varied and distinctive.

Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or just something light, there's something for everyone.

My personal favorite is their corned beef and cabbage, a special treat they serve around St. Patty's Day.

She is so pleasant and wonderful that you’d never have to ask for anything.

While the prices are a bit higher than average, they are not out of line, considering the quality of the food and the overall venue.

In fact, the ample portions paired with the top-notch service more than justify the prices.

Besides, there's nothing quite like enjoying a meal on their pleasant patio surrounded by plenty of cooling greenery.

Oh, and let's not forget about their drinks!

The cocktail selection is simply great, with creative twists on standard classics.

Whether you're a beer lover or a wine enthusiast, their inventory will not disappoint you.

As for the atmosphere, it’s both lively and engaging.

Sports lovers will appreciate the large TVs, and the music, though a bit loud at times, adds to the overall ambiance of the place.

Oishi Sushi and Steakhouse

One of the things I adore about living here is being able to indulge in our variety of local cuisines.

Whenever I'm in the mood for Japanese food, I head to Oishi Sushi and Steakhouse.

To say their sushi rolls are a delight would be an understatement.

Last week, my friends and I decided to have a sushi night.

We each ordered our own rolls and shared a platter of spring rolls and crab rangoons.

Everything was sublime; even the smell of the hibachi cooking in the background was tantalizing.

But our light dinner didn't allow for a hibachi indulgence just yet.

But the fun doesn't stop at sushi.

Oishi is also known for its entertaining hibachi experience.

Seoul Taco

Have you ever found a place so delicious, so devour-worthy, that it makes you question all the meals you've ever had?

That's what Seoul Taco in Chesterfield did to me.

I still remember my first visit there; the enticing aroma of the spicy pork burrito mingling with the tang of kimchi slaw side.

It was a food revelation!

Every bite was a punch of flavors I never knew I needed.

Ever since that day, Seoul Taco has become a regular pit stop on my gastronomic adventures.

Their Korean Steak Quesadilla and Kimchi Fried Rice are among my top meals in St. Louis.

The quesadilla, in particular, is a thing of beauty.

The steak is succulent, flavorful, and hits the right spot every single time.

If I had to nitpick, I would say that the fried rice would have been perfect with some added chicken for an extra protein kick.

And then there's the Seoul Torta.

My mouth waters just thinking about it!

It was so tasty, and there are so many other tantalizing items on their menu to explore.

Fin Japanese Cuisine

One bite into the meticulously crafted sushi at Fin Japanese Cuisine, and you'll be transported straight to the heart of Tokyo.

My regular spot for authentic Japanese fare, nestled conveniently in Chesterfield, this restaurant has never ceased to impress me with its inventive sushi rolls and enticing menu.

Let me walk you through my typical evening at Fin.

I usually begin my meal with a sushi roll - my personal favorite being the scallop-topped roll that bursts with a tantalizing blend of flavors.

The sushi here is exceptional, with the Rising Sun and Fin Dynamite rolls being crowd favorites.

But there's more to Fin than just sushi.

The noodles are another must-try.

One more thing to note is the drink offerings at Fin.

I particularly enjoy their Tokyo tea, a refreshing beverage that perfectly complements the food.

On special occasions, the restaurant provides a delightful surprise.

I recall my anniversary dinner, where my spouse and I were treated to a heavenly molten lava cake, a complimentary dessert that was rich, decadent, and just the right end to our scrumptious meal.

Bishop's Post

Let me paint a picture of the perfect dining experience.

It's Friday night at Bishop's Post, an upscale eatery nestled in the heart of our city.

As I step inside, I'm immediately greeted by the comforting hum of conversation and the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen.

I settle down at my regular spot on their scenic outdoor patio and order my usual - the delectable crab cakes to start.

Each bite is a burst of ocean-fresh flavor, so rich and scrumptious that it feels like a culinary indulgence.

Next, I savor a bite of the Caesar salad that's just right - crisp, fresh, and laced with a tangy dressing.

For my main dish, I opt for the seafood ravioli, a delightful medley of perfectly cooked pasta enveloping succulent seafood fragranced with herbs and spices that make each mouthful an event.

My partner, a creature of habit, goes for the classic burger and fries.

It's a simple pleasure, but done to perfection at Bishop's Post, the juicy patty and crispy fries never fail to hit the spot.

To cap it all off, we indulge in a gooey butter cake, its sweet, rich, melt-in-your-mouth goodness the perfect end to our meal.

The service, as always, is top-notch.
