As someone who's been living in Castle Rock, Colorado, for quite some time now, I've had the pleasure of experiencing the town's vibrant and diverse dining scene firsthand.
From cozy cafes to upscale eateries, the culinary landscape here is simply delightful.
I believe that the best way to explore and appreciate a place is through its food, and this charming town is no exception.
So, let's embark on a delicious culinary journey together and discover the best restaurants in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Bon appétit!
Fish & Company
I was strolling down the street the other day when I stumbled upon Fish & Company, a fish and chips restaurant that truly exceeded my expectations.
Although it's a small and unassuming joint, the quality of the food speaks volumes.
As soon as I took a bite of their fish and chips, I was blown away by the hint of sweetness in the batter.
It wasn't overpowering, but it did add a unique and enjoyable twist to the dish.
I also decided to try their clam chowder, which turned out to be loaded with plenty of clams and rich in flavor.
To make the experience even better, I upgraded my meal to include truffle fries.
Although the sauce was slightly runny, it was still delicious and complemented the fries well.
For a refreshing drink, I sipped on some coconut water, which was served in an actual coconut!
Miyo Cafe
I've been a regular at Miyo Cafe for quite some time now, and I simply love the cheerful atmosphere and delicious food.
The sunlit space, coupled with sidewalk seating, makes it a perfect spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch.
The cafe is always clean and well-maintained, which is a big plus for me.
Moreover, the dog-friendly patio seating is such a bonus, as I often bring my furry friend along.
One of my favorite dishes at Miyo Cafe is the breakfast skillet with home-fried potatoes, cheese, green chili, and over-easy eggs on top.
The spices are simply amazing, giving it just the right amount of heat.
I do agree that the ordering process can be a bit confusing, but once you get the hang of it, you can easily customize your dish with your favorite vegetables and meats.
The cafe tends to get packed around 10 am, so it's always best to get there early.
Zaika Indian Cuisine
I recently dined at Zaika Indian Cuisine in Castle Rock, and the experience was quite amazing.
The food was very good - everything we ordered was great.
If not for the initial service issues, I would have given this place a 5-star rating.
Aside from the delicious food, we sat on the patio, and the ambiance was just perfect.
The lights and cozy atmosphere created a memorable vibe.
I highly recommend trying the Momo dumplings - they're my favorite!
Zaika Indian Cuisine offers a wide variety of options catering to various dietary needs, such as vegan and gluten-free choices.
Plus, they have a full bar with beer on tap, making it an ideal spot for a night out with friends or a date night.
Manna Restaurant
I never thought I'd find such an amazing restaurant inside a hospital, but I recently dined at Manna Restaurant in Castle Rock, and it has quickly become one of my favorite places in town.
The menu is filled with delicious New American plates, and everything is reasonably priced.
I tried the short braised beef dish, and it was absolutely divine.
The beef was tender and flavorful, and the portion size was generous without being overwhelming.
As someone who has dietary restrictions, I also appreciated the variety of gluten-free options available.
What truly sets Manna Restaurant apart is their commitment to sustainability and community.
Press Waffle Co.
I recently stumbled upon this amazing little cafe called Press Waffle Co., and I can't help but rave about it!
As a fan of both sweet and savory waffles, I was excited to try their unique combinations.
The chicken and waffles were a perfect balance of flavors, and the avalanche waffle with a perfectly cooked egg just blew my mind.
Not to mention we also customized a waffle with Nutella, banana, and whipped cream which turned out to be a fantastic sweet treat.
Their lattes were not only good but had the most creative names.
The atmosphere of the place was cozy and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a small book club meeting or a casual date.
Speaking of dates, my partner took me there, and I can say that the ice cream sandwich with lemon curd ice cream was an unforgettable dessert experience.
I'm already looking forward to going back and trying their other offerings, like the savory breakfast waffles.
Valerie's Brewhouse
Last Friday, I decided to head out with a group of eight friends to Valerie's Brewhouse, a bar and grill we had been wanting to try out for a while.
We arrived at around 6:30 pm and were happy to find a spot where our kids could be occupied nearby.
We ordered around 5-6 food items, and to our surprise, they took anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour to come out, even though we had ordered them all at the same time.
As a result, we had to get one of our food items, an artichoke dip, to go because of the time it took to prepare.
The dip came in 3 separate small containers, two of which were room temperature and one cold, all served in a plastic bag.
Despite these hiccups, we still enjoyed our time together at Valerie's Brewhouse.
212 Pizza Co.
Just the other day, I decided to treat myself to some delicious pizza, and, as always, I knew exactly where to go: 212 Pizza Co.
I've been coming here for quite some time now, and I've never been disappointed.
One of the things I love most about 212 Pizza Co. is their wide variety of pizza options.
Not only can I choose from their extensive menu of unique and mouth-watering pies, but I also have the option to build my own pizza.
On this particular night, I decided to go with one of their recommendations - a half-and-half pizza with two of their most popular options.
The pizza arrived piping hot and looking absolutely scrumptious.
As always, the crust was perfectly cooked, made with organic dough that is just the right balance of crispy and fluffy.
I also deeply appreciate their commitment to using all-natural toppings and humanely raised meats, which not only taste amazing but make me feel good about supporting a business that cares about the environment and the ethical treatment of animals.
In addition to their fantastic pizza, 212 Pizza Co. also offers a great selection of ciders that perfectly complement their pies.
On this visit, I opted for a crisp and refreshing cider that elevated the whole experience to another level.
Slice Works
So, I decided to try out Slice Works, a pizza restaurant in my town known for their easygoing atmosphere and New York-style pizzas.
I went there with my family, and we were all excited to enjoy some delicious pizza, pasta, and subs.
The food was fantastic, with fresh and hot pizzas that tasted amazing.
I later found out that this place is actually two restaurants in one, where one side serves as a casual pizzeria (Slice Works) and the other as a more formal Italian eatery (Scileppi's).
They share the same kitchen but have different menus and atmospheres.
If you're planning to visit for pizza, be prepared for the possibility of being seated in the casual bar area rather than the more elegant atmosphere of Scileppi's.
Pegasus Restaurant
I recently visited Pegasus Restaurant for brunch with a few friends, and it was a delightful experience overall.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a laid-back breakfast/lunch gathering.
What caught my attention was the unique combination of Mexican and Greek cuisine that they offered.
I decided to try the Grecian Alternative breakfast, and I was blown away by the fantastic tzatziki that accompanied the dish.
Damascus Grill Castle Rock
I absolutely love dining at Damascus Grill Castle Rock, a Syrian restaurant in the heart of Castle Rock.
Their hummus is by far the best I've ever tried - it's rich, creamy, and so incredibly flavorful.
Their chicken kabobs are a must-try, too, made with huge pieces of real, tender chicken that's cooked and seasoned to perfection.
Every time I visit this family-owned restaurant, I can feel the love and care that goes into each dish.
I do want to mention that there might be a bit of a wait time, as they make everything from scratch, but trust me when I say it's worth every minute.
Some of my favorite dishes include wrapped grape leaves, pie sampler, and baklava.
The lamb pie is a personal favorite, but you honestly can't go wrong with any of their offerings.
Castle Cafe
Castle Cafe is housed in a vintage historical building that was once a hotel and bar, the atmosphere of the place just feels captivating.
I can't help but share my love for their famous pan-fried chicken, which takes about 30 minutes to prepare after ordering, but the wait is always worth it!
You can taste the freshness in their homemade rolls, and the coleslaw is one of the best I have ever had.
You can check out their website here: Castle Cafe
One of my other favorites is their green chili soup, which I highly recommend.
Sushi Castle
One of my local hangouts in Castle Rock for a sushi fix is definitely Sushi Castle.
Their salmon nigiri never fails to satisfy my sushi cravings.
As someone who appreciates good presentation, I'm always captivated by the beautiful arrangement of their dishes.
Their food is so pretty that I almost don't want to destroy it by eating it.
But once I dig in, I'm delighted by the flavors and textures of their miso soup, tuna poke, and unagi.
Sushi Castle truly offers an amazing experience, not just a meal.
And for those nights when I just want to stay in, it's great to know that they offer delivery too.
I remember one time, after a long day, I was thrilled to be able to enjoy their delicious sushi in the comfort of my own home.
Dos Amigos Mexican Grill
I absolutely love Mexican food, and Dos Amigos Mexican Grill has become my favorite in Castle Rock.
A few weeks ago, I decided to try their breakfast burritos after noticing lots of people in the parking lot early on a Sunday morning.
I ordered a potato, egg, and chorizo burrito smothered in sauce for only $6.99, and it was gigantic, not to mention absolutely delicious!
One of my favorite things about Dos Amigos is their refreshing margaritas.
Paired with their tasty chips and salsa, it's the perfect way to unwind after a long day.
The guacamole is always fresh and flavorful, and their tacos, fajitas, and horchatas never disappoint.
My friends and I now visit Dos Amigos multiple times a month for lunch and dinner.
Wild Blue Yonder Brewing Co.
As a vegan, I usually have a hard time finding good food options around town, but Wild Blue Yonder Brewing Co, a contemporary-chic pub, has a wide variety of dishes that can be easily customized to fit my dietary preferences.
They not only serve the popular Impossible Burgers but also offer whole food plant-based dishes that are both colorful and more exciting than the typical veggie burger.
What really sets this place apart, though, is their beer.
The brews here are absolutely incredible, and I find myself coming back almost every day after work because their beer is just better than anything I can buy at the store.
The beer garden is beautifully maintained, and they have large tables both inside and outside, making it perfect for group gatherings.
The atmosphere is great for getting some work done during the weekdays, but it also has a fun vibe every time I visit.
One of my personal favorite things is their house spicy mustard – it's seriously good on anything, but especially on sweet potato fries!
B & B Cafe
B & B Cafe has always been on my bucket list.
I finally got the chance to go there for breakfast, and it was worth the wait.
Even though the place was packed, the service was perfect, and everyone in my group enjoyed their meals.
You can check their website here.
The atmosphere in this enduring breakfast and lunch fixture is laid-back, making it a perfect spot for a weekend morning.
I was pleasantly surprised with their coffee - it was really good!
My family and I visited on a Friday morning at 9:00 a.m., and we had to wait for about 40 minutes, but it gave us the chance to explore the surrounding area.
The highlight of our visit was the Spiked Pumpkin Spice Latte.
It was a fun twist on a classic drink, something you don't find everywhere.
My daughter, on the other hand, loved her kids' pancakes with chocolate chips.
B & B Cafe is a great locally-owned place for breakfast, and I'd definitely come back every chance I get.
Just remember that there might be a wait time, but it's well worth it.
Sawara Sushi
I absolutely love sushi, and being a local resident, I've tried my fair share of sushi spots in the area.
However, nothing quite compares to Sawara Sushi.
Their menu is full of fresh, delicious, and flavorful options that keep me coming back for more.
In fact, I have complete faith in their menu and often find myself trying new signature dishes and rolls, such as the Ahi Tuna Tower or Super Lava, which are always phenomenal.
What's great about Sawara is that they also cater to my significant other's gluten allergy.
They offer plenty of gluten-free options, including gluten-free soy sauce, so we can both enjoy a sushi date without worry.
One thing I do want to point out is that Sawara Sushi isn't a traditional dine-in restaurant.
You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table.
Tribe at Riverwalk
Every now and then, you stumble upon a hidden gem that you just can't help but share with the world.
That's exactly what happened when I first visited Tribe at Riverwalk.
This restaurant offers a unique dining experience, and I couldn't have been more excited to try it out.
From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the impressive artwork on the walls and the cool hotel-like entrance.
One thing that really stood out to me was their ability to perfectly pair drinks with each entrée, ensuring a harmonious blend of flavors.
I was blown away by the cheese plate appetizer, featuring brie, blue cheese, and goat cheese, accompanied by various delicious accouterments.
I also tried the elk, which was an explosion of flavor and left me wanting more.
My dining partner had the short rib stroganoff, and the crispy leek garnish added a refreshing touch to each bite.
Although I didn't try their desserts, I've heard great things and plan to indulge on my next visit.
While the prices may be on the higher side, I believe the unique dishes and exceptional customer service make it well worth the splurge.
Great Divide Brewery & Roadhouse
Last weekend, my friends and I decided to try out the Great Divide Brewery & Roadhouse for dinner.
We were excited to find a bustling restaurant with an informal ambiance that served hearty comfort classics and craft beers.
The moment we walked in, we knew we had made the right choice.
We started our meal with the French Onion soup, and it was the best I've ever had.
My friend opted for the green chili, which was delicious as well, although he wished it was a bit warmer.
For our main course, we couldn't resist the wings with Atomic Hot Sauce - they were incredible but definitely not for the faint of heart!
The burgers were cooked to perfection, and those homemade chips were the perfect side with just the right balance of crunch and salt.
What really stood out about Great Divide Brewery & Roadhouse was their impressive selection of beers and hard drinks.
We all tried different craft beers, and each one was better than the last.
The margaritas caught our eye as well, and they did not disappoint - there was a distinct flavor that was both refreshing and satisfying.
The service we received was top-notch.

Castle Rock offers a delightful variety of dining options for residents and visitors alike.
From the scrumptious seafood at Fish & Company to the mouthwatering Indian cuisine at Zaika, there's something for every palate.
