Latitude 34

Every city has that one gem of a restaurant that stands out, and for me, that place is Latitude 34.

With its modern LA feel and open-concept seating, Latitude 34 is both an inviting and elegant dining destination.

I've been a regular at Latitude 34 for a good few years now, and every visit is a culinary delight.

The menu is diverse and filled with first-rate food and cocktails.

The house margarita is a must-try, and the lightly fried calamari and double cut pork chop are just tantalizing.

I've also tried their Birria tacos - they're tasty and flavor-packed, served with 3 tacos and a ramekin of consome.

Though their New York steak can sometimes be a tad dry, the chicken ravioli and Jidori chicken make up for it.

The chicken is always tender and juicy, while the ravioli is meticulously plated and has a delightful flavor.

A meal at Latitude 34 is never complete without their desserts.

The butter cake served with McConnells vanilla bean ice cream and strawberries is a personal favorite - the blend of all flavors is just heavenly.

I'm not the only one raving about the place - many repeat customers swear by their bread pudding and beignet desserts.

Greek Cuisine

It was during one of my weekend quests for local culinary delights that I stumbled upon Greek Cuisine, tucked away behind Braxton kitchen.

My first impression?

This place is legit!

Their hospitality is absolutely heartwarming.

I remember getting to taste the baklava made fresh almost every day.

To this day, that baklava remains one of the best I've ever had, with just the right amount of sweetness and crunch.

Their menu is full of generously portioned dishes.

The spanakopita and gyro platter has become a regular order for me.

The subtle yet distinct flavors stand out compared to many commercial places that tend to overpower with spices.

This shows the love and care put into the food here.

I must also mention the stuffed grape leaves.

The size took me by surprise, but what amazed me more was the burst of flavors that it packed.

I've tried the Gyros plate and sandwich too, and they're a knockout.

Every bite reminds me why it's one of the best food places in Camarillo.

Lucerne Italian Restaurant

There's a hidden gem tucked away in a vibrant strip-mall in city that I absolutely must rave about - Lucerne Italian Restaurant.

I remember my first visit, I was immediately won over by the refined Italian mains and the impressive collection of wines.

To give you an idea, their wine list is so vast, it feels crazily endless!

The experience promised was of tasting dinners, and boy, they absolutely exceeded my expectations.

The food at Lucerne is nothing short of divine.

I remember being blown away by their impeccably presented dishes, teeming with authentic Italian flavors.

Each bite was layered with a complexity that left a lasting impression.

I mean, I've been to a lot of places around the east coast and even married into an Italian family.

But trust me when I say, Lucerne is the real deal.

Honestly, the food was so brilliant, I was tempted to lick my plate clean (although I refrained, of course).

The atmosphere in the restaurant is intimate and cozy, perfect for a quiet dinner.

And yes, there might be a little wait for the food, but I assure you, it's worth it.

One thing that stood out for me was their bruschetta.

Do yourself a favor and order it, you won't be disappointed.

The hint of citrus was an unexpected delight and quite unlike any bruschetta I've ever had.

Good Morning Cafe

I never thought I'd find a hidden gem of a diner right off the 101.

The Good Morning Cafe is a hole-in-the-wall eatery known and adored by us locals, but it's also a must-stop place for travelers passing through our city of Camarillo.

You wouldn't guess it from the outside, but this place serves up some of the freshest, tastiest, and most reasonably priced American fare I've ever had.

It's like an old country New England diner, but with a delicious Hispanic twist.

The food here, especially the Chile Verde and cinnamon bun French toast, is superb.

And let's not forget the bottomless coffee - a staple of any great diner.

Aside from the mouthwatering food, the service is also something to write home about.

My personal favorite meal here?

The eggs Benedict with its soft sourdough bread and tender ham.

Hidden Cafe

If you're anything like me and enjoy a bit of adventure with your meals, then the Hidden Cafe is your kind of place. This casual eatery is a gem just waiting to be discovered.

You might have to circle the parking lot a few times to find it, but trust me, the treasure hunt is worth it.

Here's the thing about Hidden Cafe, it's not your ordinary breakfast and lunch spot.

Think Hawaiian inspired plates that transport you right to the island paradise without leaving the mainland.

I'm talking about the Loco Moco Deluxe, a solid plate of Portuguese sausage, spam, beef patty, and eggs, all over a bed of rice, with the most divine gravy.

It's got a hint of green pepper which gives it a unique savory touch.

And don't get me started on the house soy sauce - a small cupful of spicy, umami delight.

The ambiance is another thing that keeps me coming back.

Indoor or outdoor, you have lots of options to choose from.

The outside dining is sheltered, comfortable, and perfect for those sunny days.

These guys are hilarious and they know their stuff.

They have a knack for making you feel at home.

Plus, their selection of mimosas and other beverages is quite impressive.

Ric's Restaurant and Sports Lounge

Whenever I feel the need for a relaxed evening with great food and drink, I head over to Ric's Restaurant and Sports Lounge.

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding after a long day.

The menu is pretty decent with a variety of dishes to choose from.

I've tried their Alfredo pasta, spinach wrap, and of course, their pizza on different occasions.

While the food is generally good, and the best part about Ric's is the full bar that has a variety of tap beers - perfect for a sports night with friends.

There's nothing quite like huddling up with your pals, a cold beer in hand, watching a game on the large screen TV.

Ric's also has a beautiful outdoor seating area, which is my personal favourite.

It's a nice open space with heaters to keep you warm, and they play music that sets the perfect ambiance for a chill evening.

Onyx Bistro

Living in this neighborhood has its perks, one of them being close proximity to Onyx Bistro.

My first visit to the bistro was inspired by the rave reviews from friends, and I must admit, it was love at first bite.

I reveled in the unexpectedly divine taste of every dish that came to our table.

The flavors were rich, satisfying, and beautifully balanced.

One of the things that genuinely sets Onyx Bistro apart is the great value for money.

The quality of food they serve would easily cost a lot more in other places, so kudos for affordable luxury!

The happy hour is a must, featuring an impressive selection of food and drinks.

I thoroughly enjoyed the live music, which added soul to the already vibrant ambiance.

The patio setting is comfortable and well laid out.

Even on a busy night, you don't feel crammed in.

It's always great to find a spot where you can enjoy your food and company without feeling like you're part of the next table's conversation.

The service?

Exceptional!

A special mention must go to the Pan Seared Wild Scallops.

This new addition to the menu is a game-changer.

Paired with a creamy cauliflower pureé, it was a delight to my palate.

The Green Olive Camarillo

Oh, the Green Olive Camarillo!

It's simply the best spot when you're craving Mediterranean cuisine.

You might have a little trouble finding it initially as it's tucked away inside a liquor store, the Village Mart.

I assure you, it's worth the hunt!

Their website The Green Olive Camarillo helps you out with location and more details.

The first time I walked in there, I was greeted by Neveen who was extremely kind and helpful.

I went with the Chicken kabobs and it was a stellar choice!

They were tender and perfectly cooked.

Now, whenever I'm introducing this place to friends, we order 'The Works'.

It's this fantastic platter that allows you to taste most of what they have to offer.

It comes with Beef kabob, Kofta kabob, Chicken kabob, two Falafel patties, and two hand-rolled grape leaves.

My personal favorite is the Beef kabob - it's packed with flavor and so tender.

The platter also includes a small portion of Salad, Hummus, and Pita.

I find the portions to be quite generous and it's more than enough for two people to share.

Oh, and their Hummus!

It's fresh, delicious, and goes perfectly with their Pita.

The food here is generally so good that I often end up packing some to take home and relish it later.

Bistro 13

Every time I visit Bistro 13, it feels like a mini-vacation to Italy.

Over the years, this family-run trattoria has become my go-to spot for authentic Italian cuisine served in a warm and inviting ambience.

Walking into Bistro 13, you are instantly greeted by the aromas of fresh bread and simmering sauce, which set the stage for the culinary delights that await.

The menu is a wonderful blend of traditional and innovative Italian dishes.

The gnocchi and Australian barramundi are personal favorites, but I'm equally smitten by their meatball appetizer, which is simply divine.

And don't even get me started on the tiramisu.

Rich, creamy, and absolutely indulgent, it's the perfect way to round off a meal here.

What I particularly cherish about Bistro 13, though, is their commitment to offering a top-notch dining experience.

Such personal interactions add a unique touch to the dining experience, making it feel like a home away from home.

Lure Fish House

I'll tell you, I've been to Lure Fish House more times than I can count, and it never disappoints.

Sitting on those bar tops, the nautical theme surrounding you truly gives you that sailor's pub feel.

The appetizers and salads they serve are always a hit.

I remember once when we ordered a variety, and every single dish was delicious!

You could tell it was locally sourced, fresh, and the taste was simply unmatched.

It's a great place to kick back and enjoy some fresh seafood in an upmarket setting.

However, I did run into a little hiccup once.

I'm a big seafood lover, and when I saw the white sea bass on their daily catch, I was eager to try it, and it was fantastic!

Their other dishes were also spot on.

The ceviche, for instance, was a delight to my palate.

It offers a wonderful balance of flavors and is one of my go-to dishes.

Adolfo Grill & Daily Bar

Last Father's Day, my family and I decided to try out a local eatery we hadn't been to before - Adolfo Grill & Daily Bar.

As soon as we entered, we were immediately charmed by the inviting atmosphere.

A gentleman strumming away on an acoustic guitar added a serene touch to the restaurant's dark wood decor, large mirrored walls and crown molding accents.

It was bustling with activity, but despite this, we were seated promptly.

The menu, packed with a variety of tantalizing options, left us spoilt for choice.

Eventually, I settled for the Adolfo Club Sandwich accompanied by a salad, while my partner and son opted for the Bourbon burger.

My eldest son, on the other hand, chose the Pot Roast sandwich with mashed potatoes, and my daughter-in-law decided to try the Butternut Squash Ravioli.

However, the real star of our meal was the Monte Cristo sandwich.

We ordered it to share amongst us and believe me when I say, it is a must-try!

The portion sizes were generous and the presentation of the food was delightful.

Hector's Taqueria

Just last week I found myself at Hector's Taqueria in the heart of Camarillo.

This small and cozy Mexican food joint is the perfect place for a quick lunch with its easy-to-read menu and fair prices.

I ordered a trio of tacos – shrimp, chicken, and steak.

To my surprise, the shrimp turned out to be the star of the show.

It was well seasoned, perfectly cooked and incredibly delicious.

The steak was also good, but the chicken, unfortunately, was a tad dry.

Despite its compact size, Hector's Taqueria leaves no stone unturned when it comes to delivering fresh and hot food.

The tortillas were nicely grilled and complimented the rich flavors of the sauces.

Cagami Ramen

Over the years, I've seen various incarnations of the Cagami Ramen restaurant, and each time, I've harbored hope for the best.

This mom-and-pop shop has preserved its authenticity despite the changes.

Tthe Shoyu Ramen I ordered was fantastic!

Some of my friends also rave about it being the best Ramen in Camarillo, and I admit, the place does retain a certain charm.

The atmosphere is lively and the place is often buzzing with customers, a testament to its popularity among many residents.

Braxton's Kitchen

There's no better way to start the day than with a hearty breakfast at my favorite spot, Braxton's Kitchen.

This place is a gem in our community, and one visit is all it takes to get hooked.

Every time I head over there, I'm greeted with warmth and top-notch customer service.

They make me feel like I'm part of their family, which is always a lovely touch.

I've tried a number of things on their menu and I've yet to be disappointed.

The Scorpion breakfast bowl is something else, and the chicken breakfast biscuit is out of this world.

If you're watching your carbs, there's a keto bowl that's just as satisfying.

And for the really indulgent days, there's the breakfast burger - a new addition to their menu.

I must confess, it's probably one of the most decadent things I've savored, but it's well worth it.

The fries are a hit too, some of the best you'll ever taste.

The place itself is super comfortable with lots of outdoor seating, perfect for those sunny mornings.

And if you have kids or pets, no worries.

Love Pho N' Mor

Ever since I moved to the neighborhood a few years ago, I’ve made it my mission to discover new and exciting places to eat.

One of the standout spots I've discovered is Love Pho N' Mor, a local Vietnamese noodle soup specialist that offers an array of delicious dishes in a brightly lit, modern setting.

What first drew me to Love Pho N' Mor was their prompt service.

Orders are swiftly prepared, often arriving within a mere five minutes.

Not to mention, the prices are reasonable and the food is simply too good to resist.

The rolls and pho soup quickly became my must-try dishes.

Over time, I've noticed that Love Pho N' Mor is a hit with many of my neighbors, often bustling with locals which is always a good sign.

They even accommodate the little ones, making the dining experience enjoyable for the whole family.

My neighbor, for example, once told me about how her energetic son was made to feel welcome and had a lot of fun during their visit.

Their menu is quite diverse, with options like the Bahn mi, garlic chicken wings, summer roll, combo fried rice, and seafood pan fried noodles being some of my personal favorites.

Olas de Carlos Surf Grill

One of my favorite places to grab a bite is Olas de Carlos Surf Grill.

This laid-back eatery is right up my alley with its surf-themed decor.

You walk in, and it's like you've just stepped off the beach and into a surfer's paradise.

The ceilings are adorned with surfboards, and the walls are covered in photos of gnarly waves and surfing legends.

You can even catch a surfing competition or two on the TVs scattered around.

You can find the place here.

The food, oh the food!

I've been frequenting this joint since I was a kid and they've never disappointed me.

Their Mexican fare is some of the best in the city.

I'm particularly fond of their wet burritos.

They're flavorful and incredibly satisfying.

The portion size is also quite impressive, enough to last for two meals, I'd say.

And the complimentary chips they serve with every order?

Crunchy and delicious!

On my last visit, I tried their taquitos and crispy tacos for the first time.

The salsa paired with them was just heavenly.

I can confidently say that this spot serves the best crispy tacos in Ventura County.

Everything tasted so fresh, and I was particularly taken by the cake and the red velvet creme brulee.

My favorites also include beet salad and the filets.

Country Harvest Restaurant Camarillo

I've been dining at Country Harvest Restaurant Camarillo for quite some time now.

An unassuming diner with a friendly atmosphere and wide array of menu options, it's an excellent place for a quick bite or a hearty meal.

When you step into the restaurant, you'll notice how clean and beautifully spaced out it is.

There's always a comfort in knowing that the establishment you're dining at pays serious attention to cleanliness.

The restaurant offers all-day breakfast fare, sandwiches, burgers, salads and much more.

The biscuits there are a sheer delight—light, fluffy and a treat to your taste buds.

The sourdough toast stands out too, soft and fluffy as a cloud, unlike the ones that end up scraping the roof of your mouth.

The menu boasts of several other options that are worth trying.

Don't forget to ask about their specials when you're there.

Twenty 88 Gourmet Fusion

I'm always on the lookout for exciting new places to eat and Twenty 88 Gourmet Fusion has quickly become one of my favorites.

What's not to love about this place?

Now, let's talk about the food.

The dishes here are an absolute treat for the taste buds.

The filet bites and filet quesadilla are simply divine.

Every bite was packed with flavor and left me wanting more.

Even the burger was fantastic, something I wouldn't usually order at a fusion restaurant.

The Stuffed Chicken is another must-try.

I can honestly say that it's some of the best food I've ever had.

The location is nothing short of beautiful.

It's always a pleasure to take the drive down to Camarillo and enjoy the sophisticated ambiance.

The outdoor seating is especially enjoyable on a pleasant evening.

The music can be slightly loud but it definitely adds to the vibrant atmosphere.

The bar at Twenty 88 is another one of its highlights.

They serve creative cocktails that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate.

Plus, they offer a happy hour which is a great opportunity to sample their amazing appetizers.

Tamarind Thai Cuisine

I've always been a fan of Thai food, and the best place to get my fix is always at Tamarind Thai Cuisine.

The place is a charming blend of traditional and modern Thai aesthetics with vibrant plants and exceptional Thai art adorning the interiors.

The meals here are consistently delicious.

The ribeye Panang, for instance, didn't quite hit the mark the last time I tried it, but the Tom Kha soup with chicken is always a winner.

The burst of flavors in every spoonful warms my tummy, especially on those cold Camarillo afternoons.

The yellow chicken curry is another favorite, brimming with spices that awaken your palate.

The homemade coconut ice cream is a must-try, a perfect ending note to any meal.

Ottavio's Italian Restaurant

Just the other day, I decided to unwind and have a meal at Ottavio's Italian Restaurant, one of my favorite spots for grabbing Italian classics in the neighborhood.

The restaurant is often frequented by couples and large groups, and is known for its casual, mural-clad ambience.

I went there with my significant other for a quiet Sunday evening dinner.

We were craving some good old pasta.

The highlight of the evening was the Chicken Tortellini Pasta and the chocolate cake that I relished.

I also liked their plain roll, while my partner preferred the seasoned one.

They also offered a variety of other dishes like Todo del Mare and a decadent Lemon dessert, though we had to pass on those.

They were also out of the Flat bread appetizer that night.

One of the great things about Ottavio's is their patio, which is shielded from wind and highway noise by a wall.

They keep it cozy with heaters, making it an excellent spot for larger gatherings.

I recall how they perfectly arranged for a friend's wedding rehearsal dinner on the patio.

They were able to cater to everyone's dietary needs, including gluten-free pasta for some guests.

Remembering the event, the food was quite delicious.

They served pasta, pizza, salad, and rolls.

It was a satisfying meal that everyone enjoyed.

And if you are wondering about the ambiance, it's just as wonderful with an open and friendly atmosphere.

The seating may be a little sticky at times, but I see that as part of the charm of a local joint.

The Pastrami Sandwich is another favorite of mine.

Its crispy texture perfectly complements the tender, juicy meat.

I'm usually not a fan of fries and onion rings, but Burger Barn has made me reconsider.

They are simply delicious!

Just last week, after spending the day running errands around the city, I found myself craving some quality sushi.

It didn't take me long to decide where to go.

Sushi Planet Camarillo, a sushi place within walking distance from my house, seemed like the perfect choice.

Upon entering, it's clear that the restaurant could use some slight upgrades, specifically in the bathroom.

Despite this, the dining area was clean and well-maintained.

I was greeted with prompt service and a friendly smile, which made me feel right at home.

I decided to order an appetizer and a few different sushi rolls.

The sushi was delicious and skillfully prepared.

The rolls were a bit pricey, but I believe you get what you pay for, and the quality of the sushi justified the cost.

Accompanied by a good drink, the whole experience was truly enjoyable.
