Last weekend, I decided to visit The Old Union Hotel with some friends for a casual dinner and drinks.

It's an unpretentious bar & grill set in a historic 19th-century hotel, which gives it a unique atmosphere.

I had heard great things about their wings, so I was eager to give them a try.

We were seated promptly and began browsing their menu.

I ordered their highly recommended wings, and let me tell you, they lived up to the hype!

The wings were flavorful and cooked to perfection.

I must say the fries were quite good, and we all enjoyed them.

We ended up staying longer than anticipated, just chatting and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere.

Despina's

Every time I visit Despina's Mediterranean Taste, I am blown away by the consistently perfect quality of their food.

Their charming counter-serve operation offers a delightful experience of classic Greek & Mediterranean fare, along with catering services.

I've been there about 10 times now, and their gyro has been perfect every single time!

Somehow, their pita bread tastes like it was just made each time I get it.

The recent move from Hawley Street to Main Street has made the restaurant smaller with a more 'historical' interior, but the high prices have remained.

Despite that, I still frequent Despina's a few times per year because their food is just that good.

One of my favorite dishes here is the spinach salad, which is large enough to share.

The lamb gyro is another tasty option.

My partner and I often stop by for lunch, and we swear by the chicken souvlaki pita.

Their lemon orzo soup is absolutely excellent.

Sach's Tee House

Oh, how I love spending my evenings at Sach's Tee House!

Last night, my friends and I decided to grab a bite and catch up, and as usual, Sach's Tee House did not disappoint.

We started with some steak quesadillas, and I must say, they were the best I've ever had!

Do note that they currently only accept cash, but they have an ATM available for those who need it.

One of the things I truly appreciate about this place is the variety of options on their menu.

They have an extensive selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, wings, and appetizers.

And let me tell you, their burgers are simply amazing – some of the best in the Binghamton area!

My personal favorite is the Mushroom and Swiss burger, paired with their crispy, juicy, and downright miraculous fried mushrooms.

We also love the laid-back atmosphere at Sach's Tee House.

My friends and I tried The Reggie and the Rustler burgers, and instead of chips, we chose to pay the extra $2 to get house-cut fries and sweet potato fries.

The presentation was fantastic, and the Rustler was so tall that it needed a skewer to hold it together!

The burgers were cooked to perfection, and the flavors and seasonings were outstanding.

Lost Dog Café & Lounge

Let me tell you about one of my favorite spots in town – Lost Dog Café & Lounge.

This upbeat cafe offers a fantastic selection of global fare backed by live jazz music, making it the perfect place to unwind after a long day.

They also have a sleek lounge area where you can enjoy a diverse range of beers and cocktails.

I've been to Lost Dog Café numerous times, and I must say their food never disappoints.

The servings are quite generous, and they even provide vegetarian options.

The eclectic, artsy vibe of the place adds to its charm, and the fun drink menu has something for everyone, including alcohol and mocktails.

They are always attentive and friendly, making sure you have a great dining experience.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating (seasonally), so you can enjoy your meal in any weather.

Mediterranean Halal House

As a frequent diner at the Mediterranean Halal House, I can confidently say that this place offers some of the most authentic Pakistani food in the area.

The quality of the food is always top-notch, and the generous portions never leave me feeling unsatisfied.

I particularly enjoy their karahi and naan, as well as the chicken kabab, which is always cooked to perfection.

The seating at Mediterranean Halal House is quite spacious, making it an ideal spot for large group gatherings or parties.

Ample parking is also available, making it a convenient choice for those driving to the restaurant.

One of the aspects I appreciate most about this restaurant is the flexibility they offer in terms of spice levels.

Their kababs and goat karai are among my favorites, and I can't wait to try more items on their menu.

I've also had the pleasure of attending a wedding catered by Mediterranean Halal House, and the food was a hit with all the guests.

Chris' Diner

Whenever I crave a hearty, delicious breakfast or lunch in town, I always head over to Chris' Diner.

This modest mom-and-pop joint has been whipping up large portions of classic dishes for years, and they never disappoint.

The atmosphere is a cozy and old-school diner vibe, complete with rips in the booth seats, but that's just part of its charm.

Despite being cash-only, the prices are very reasonable, and the portions are more than generous.

One time, I ordered their 3-egg breakfast with bacon, toast, and a massive serving of home fries, and it only cost me $9.50!

But what really sets Chris' Diner apart is their warm and friendly customer service.

Not only do they serve American classics, but they also offer some delicious Greek dishes, like the chicken gyro I had once.

The bread was warm and soft, the chicken cooked just right, and the tzatziki sauce added a perfect tangy finish.

Their pancake portions are enormous, too – bigger than my hand!

Weekends can get busy at Chris' Diner, so it's best to arrive early if you want to enjoy a meal without the crowd.

Trust me, it's worth the effort to try their mouthwatering meals and experience the warm hospitality that only a family-owned diner can offer.

Remlik's Grille & Oyster Bar

I've always heard great things about Remlik's Grille & Oyster Bar, so I finally decided to try it out for myself.

From the moment I walked in, the upscale ambiance and elegant decor immediately caught my attention.

I made sure to try some of their specialty oysters, which were incredibly fresh and delicious.

For my main course, I decided on the double-cut pork chop, cooked medium/well, based on a recommendation I had read.

It was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor.

My companion's filet mignon was equally mouthwatering and cooked just right.

While I agree that the prices can be a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food and the overall experience made it worth the splurge.

One thing I look forward to on my next visit is trying out some of the other menu items, as I noticed that they had a few limited-time offerings due to the holiday season.

I also wouldn't mind stopping by just for a glass of wine and some of their delicious appetizers.

P S Restaurant

One evening, after scrolling through Google, I stumbled upon P S Restaurant and decided to give it a try.

The atmosphere was intimate, yet had a good energy about it, which made me feel right at home.

To start, I ordered the shrimp and scallop appetizers, which were perfectly prepared.

I was quite impressed by the Thai-French fusion concept and the unique flavors it brought to the dishes.

For my main course, I chose the filet, duck, and salmon - all cooked to perfection and highly satisfying.

I also tried some of their cocktails, with Captain Daniels being a personal favorite.

The service at P S Restaurant was exceptional, and the timing and order in which the food was brought out made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.

I can't wait to return and try the rest of their menu!

China Star

I often find myself ordering takeout from China Star, a local Chinese restaurant.

Their Buddha's Delight with tofu is my absolute favorite!

I love how they let me order it with the sauce on the side, so I can dip the veggies into the sauce to my liking.

Do remember that they only take cash, so make sure to have enough on hand for the bill and tip.

Now, I have to admit that the service at China Star can be very slow.

When they say "10 minutes," it's best to be prepared for a 30-minute wait.

Despite this, I continue to get takeout from them because the food is consistently excellent.

Peterson's Tavern

One of my favorite places to hang out in town is Peterson's Tavern.

Last Thursday, my partner and I decided to have dinner there.

My partner ordered French onion soup and spiedie salad.

I decided on their burger and fries, which did not disappoint.

We finished off our meal with funnel fries and caramel dipping sauce - a delightful treat!

Once, we even ordered a tomahawk steak for a private party, and it came with perfectly done sides and salad, and the steak literally melted in our mouths!

Another time, I tried their onion soup with Sam Adams and Jameson, and it was an excellent combination.

Downs Ave. Tavern

I have been going to Downs Ave. Tavern for years, and it has become my go-to spot for a laid-back night out with friends.

The atmosphere is so relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect place to catch a game and have some great conversations.

Last weekend, I decided to treat myself to a nice dinner at Cortese Restaurant, an Italian restaurant that has been a staple in our community for years.

When I arrived, the restaurant was quite busy, but I was lucky enough to find a seat at the bar.

I couldn't resist the craving for Spaghetti & Meatballs, so I ordered their Homemade Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce & Meatballs.

I absolutely love going to South City Publick House in my neighborhood!

I have been here several times, and each visit seems to be even better than the last.

The menu offers updated takes on American pub grub, and I particularly enjoyed their fish with macaroni and cheese.

I have also tried their burger, which was tasty, although not as hot and juicy as I would have preferred.

However, the cheesecake was simply awesome!

One of the best parts of this eatery is the weekly live music.

It's always a treat to be able to enjoy a good meal and listen to some talented local bands.

The service is consistently good, and the ambiance is perfect for both grabbing a drink or sitting down to enjoy a meal with friends or family.

Downtown by Beer Tree Brew

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Downtown by Beer Tree Brew in downtown Binghamton, and I must say it exceeded my expectations.

This new establishment is their third location, and it has a slightly different focus on lunch sandwiches and burgers, which I appreciate as it opens up more options depending on my mood for the day.

The restaurant is conveniently located next to a downtown parking garage, making it easy to find parking.

I stopped by on a weekend around 5 pm, and even though it was quite busy, I was seated immediately.

For our meal, we started with the Giant pretzel with beer cheese, which was served hot and fresh.

The Beer Tree beer cheese is absolutely fantastic and a must-try.

I opted for the Grilled Chicken Pesto Sandwich with fries, while my friend chose the house's special BBQ and fried onion burger featuring a unique Dr. Pepper-inspired BBQ sauce.

Both entrees were delicious and lived up to the high standards set by Beer Tree's other establishments.

Park Diner

I've been going to Park Diner for years now, and I must say, it's always a pleasant experience.

The waterside location provides a beautiful view, making it a great spot for catching up with friends and family.

The interior is clean and bright, with a mix of modern and old-school diner vibes.

The food is pretty much what you'd expect from an average diner, with some hits and misses.

I usually go for breakfast, and their Skillet is a decent choice, though the scrambled veggies and sausage mix could use some improvement.

Their coffee is good, however, and their apple pie, albeit served cold, is a classic treat that I enjoy every time.

My kids love the cheeseburger, French fries, mozzarella sticks, and spaghetti and meatballs they serve here.

I've also tried their roast beef sandwich, which was perfectly made, and their Greek salad is always fresh and excellent.

They make sure you have everything you need during your meal.

The diner has a hometown atmosphere that I've always appreciated, and it's nice to see the same faces every time I visit.

Both Tsha's Kitchen and Dan Dee Grill have become my go-to spots for delicious meals, whether I'm craving authentic Jamaican cuisine or a scrumptious burger.
