Rowland Heights is an unincorporated community on the aprons of the Puente Hills chain in the San Gabriel Valley of southeastern Los Angeles County. This suburban community east of Los Angeles in California evolved from the Rancho La Puente Mexican land grant to John Rowland and his partner in 1842.
