But do remember, the tour is limited to six persons, so you need to secure your spot early.

From there, it's a 5- to 8-minute walk along the canal to the cave.

A word of advice - walk quietly once you get close. The bats can be pretty noise-sensitive. The sound of thousands of bats chittering away is something you'll never forget.

That's when they're most active, and you're likely to see a cloud of bats flying out into the dusk.
