Best Restaurants in Martinsburg, WV

I live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, right at the very tip of West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle.

My city, Martinsburg, is often referred to as the "Gateway to Shenandoah Valley" and has been named the "fastest expanding city in the state."

With an estimated population of 18,835 as of 2021, it's undoubtedly the biggest city in the Eastern Panhandle.

In my city, you'll find many shops and historical homes in the old downtown district.

One of the best things about living here is the abundance of excellent restaurants that serve various dishes for different budgets.

I'm excited to share with you the 15 best restaurants in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

They serve Tapas-style meals in a beautifully designed setting with a perfect atmosphere.

The restaurant features beautiful lighting, wooden floors with a honeycomb tile design, and white booth cushions.

There's something for everyone in Brix 27's selection of complex dishes.

The restaurant puts genuine effort into each meal using locally sourced ingredients and carefully selected wines.

I had the option to choose from either a Tapas menu or regular entrees.

I decided to try their Pork Belly Sandwich, which was made with marinated and braised pork belly, hoisin sauce, a brioche bun, and napa cabbage slaw.

It was absolutely delicious! I also had a taste of their pan-seared salmon, which left me in awe.

The grilled fish and mashed potatoes were also delicious, hearty, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked.

The wine flights were well curated, although I think they got the order wrong on my German flight because the Dornfelder really ought to come last as it's the sweetest.

Overall, Brix 27 is a very special place with a wonderful old building beautifully restomodded, creating a great ambiance.

I enjoyed the great Cava and had a lovely sparkling wine experience.

I absolutely love Mexican food, and Fiesta Tapatia is my go-to place for authentic Mexican cuisine in a lively and vibrant atmosphere.

The restaurant is spotless, with plenty of open seating and colorful decorations.

The service is excellent, and the portions of their delicious dishes are more than enough to satisfy my cravings.

The fajitas, pollo con chorizo, and camarones al mojo de ajo are all fantastic options.

I also enjoy ordering the Enchiladas Verde, which comes with rice, green sauce, and beans, plus my choice of chicken or beef.

It's so tasty and gives me enough energy to last all day.

One of the things I appreciate the most about Fiesta Tapatia is the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

On one of my visits, I hit it off with one of the servers, and now we greet each other with a hug whenever I come in.

It truly feels like a family environment.

The tamales at Fiesta Tapatia are also worth mentioning.

I won't order a tamale just anywhere, but this place knows how to serve them up with that thick layer of cornmeal that takes it to the next level.

I can't wait to return again and again, and maybe next time, I'll take some actual food photos to share with friends.

The Siam Beef is another must-try, and the Shrimp Tom Yum Soup is simply divine.

During one of my visits, I tried the peanut curry shrimp meal with a side of shrimp egg rolls, and it was absolutely delicious.

The crispy duck with Thai seasoning is another dish that left a lasting impression on me.

If you're a fan of tofu, I highly recommend trying the crispy tofu with peanut topping.

And if you ask nicely, they might even give you some extra toasted Thai spice to take home.

The Pad Eggplant is a dish that keeps me coming back to Finn Thai.

They also serve yummy cocktails, which are a great accompaniment to their flavorful dishes.

As someone who enjoys both mild and spicy flavors, I found their extensive menu to have something for everyone, including meatless options.

The fully stocked bar was a nice addition, allowing me to enjoy an alcoholic beverage with my meal.

I appreciated that their Thai dishes were made without MSG and featured various herbs, making the flavors truly authentic.

I started my meal with the Chicken Satay, which was seasoned with Thai spices and topped with a delicious peanut sauce.

The grilled appetizer was a perfect way to kick off my dining experience. For my main course, I couldn't resist trying their drunken noodles.

I chose chicken as my protein, and the dish was cooked in a spicy sauce with garlic, basil, onions, and tomatoes. It was absolutely amazing!

Cafe Del Sol

Cafe Del Sol is a local restaurant franchise known for its casual atmosphere and high-quality pizza, pasta, and other dishes.

The menu features an appealing selection of starters and entrées, and it's widely recognized as the best California pizzeria in the region.

They serve authentic thin-crust gourmet pizzas, signature sandwiches, pasta, and salads made from scratch daily.

The food at this cafe is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced.

I started with the Mozza Luna—panko-fried mozzarella topped with kale, arugula, and marinara. It was a great appetizer to share with my friends.

Next, I experienced the exotic flavor of rare seared yellowfin tuna, or Ahi, with a combination of watermelon radish, field greens, avocado, and five-spiced almonds.

It was a unique and tasty dish that I would definitely order again.

Finally, I tried the cheesesteak pizza, which was generously sized and flavorful.

The pasta and chicken dishes my friends ordered were also delicious and satisfying.

I had the pleasure of experiencing the vibrant flavors and inviting ambiance of Spice Connexion, located on Foxcroft Avenue in Martinsburg.

New Peking

Long a favorite of mine, New Peking is a casual restaurant serving classic Chinese fare and a wide selection of drinks.

It is at a prime spot in downtown Martinsburg, opposite the Book Bank on Queens Street.

The restaurant is well-known for its fresh ingredients and the range of flavors they offer.

I recently tried the Shrimp with Bean Sprouts, and it was a fantastic combination of tastes and textures.

The chicken and rice are both cooked to perfection and taste fresh.

Conveniently situated in the heart of Martinsburg, New Peking offers takeout and delivery options for those in a hurry.

What sets New Peking apart from other Chinese restaurants is the incredibly light and clean taste of their food.

My favorites include the Orange Chicken and Veggie Chow Mein. The egg rolls are a delicious add-on that typically completes my order.

Portion size is good. While I have not dined at this restaurant, the place looks clean, and service has been good when I have gotten take-out.

One evening, my family and I were at a loss for where to go for dinner. We initially wanted to go to Kabob Express, but it was closed.

It was getting late, and we were all hungry, so we decided to give King's New York Pizza a try.

Our expectations were low, as we though we were just going to get a large greasy pepperoni pizza.

Much to our surprise, they had many options to choose from.

We ordered baked ziti, which came with a side salad and garlic bread, spaghetti with marinara, also accompanied by a side salad and garlic bread, and chicken souvlaki that came with chips.

Kobe Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar

Kobe Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar is a place to enjoy Teppanyaki, a popular style of Japanese cooking.

In teppanyaki restaurants, the chef prepares the meal right before the diners on a flat, solid iron griddle.

I was impressed by how the restaurant has been working relentlessly to provide customers with a genuine taste of Japan through its cuisine.

The teppanyaki experience was prepared by trained professionals who guided me through an exciting and engaging dining experience.

They whipped up a mouthwatering stir-fry dish on my table using the freshest ingredients and the most meticulously picked seasonings.

I've heard that their sushi, sashimi, and combination rolls by their skilled sushi chefs are guaranteed to be the freshest you've ever had.

In addition, they have a full sushi bar that can satisfy even the pickiest of sushi eaters.

I visited them at Viking Way for a one-of-a-kind meal.

The cook was my favorite part of the experience.  He was engaging, funny, and wonderful to watch!

Asian Garden is a casual dining spot where I enjoy tasty Chinese, Japanese, and other Asian staples like sushi and sashimi.

It's located east of Interstate 81 on Foxcroft Avenue, making it a convenient spot for me to visit.

This lovely establishment always offers excellent service and delicious, freshly prepared meals.

The menu includes miso soup, Yaki Udon, sweet and sour chicken, sushi, General Tso's Shrimp, and more.

I often begin my meal with an assortment of tasty appetizers such as gyoza, spring rolls, pork belly buns, yaki tori, or fried calamari.

When I order their chicken curry with chile and onions, I'm always blown away by the complexity of the flavors.

To finish my meal, I usually opt for their delicious green bean ice cream or fried banana, which are incredibly refreshing.

I've enjoyed excellent sushi here, and the restaurant is always clean with easy parking.

I've even called ahead for takeout, and they always have it ready for me when I arrive.

My family and I eat here often, and we've almost never had a bad meal.

The chicken teriyaki box is very filling, with generous portions, and the sushi rolls are tasty as well.

I will note that the seasoning is definitely more Western-friendly, more of a Chinese American type of style.

The sauces are heavier and saltier than you might find in more traditional places.

Historic McFarland House

The Historic McFarland House is a classic landmark in Martinsburg, known for its all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch buffet.

This hidden gem is located near downtown Martinsburg behind a classic brick exterior.

The Historic McFarland House has been a symbol of the city's culture, history, and pride for over 140 years.

When I stepped inside, I was taken into another era, to a more elegant and charming period.

The glorious history of the estate, which was constructed by Alexander B. Parks in 1878, is carried on in the home's decor, cuisine, and social gatherings.

The current house owners continue Parks' tradition of using only locally sourced ingredients in the cooking and decor.

I couldn't resist trying the house-made brioche French toast served with genuine West Virginia maple syrup.

The Thai basil chicken and smoked salmon with dill cream cheese are two of the restaurant's most popular dishes, and they were perfect when I was looking for something hearty to eat.

Keep in mind that you may only enjoy their brunch buffet on Sundays.

I remember celebrating my husband's birthday at the Historic McFarland House.

I always try to take him to new places, and I was thrilled to find this gem close to our home.

We made reservations, as recommended online, and were one of the first reservations that day.

We also enjoyed the cocktails of the month, an old fashioned and blackberry margarita.

Kitzie's Restaurant & Lounge

Kitzie's Restaurant & Lounge on Rock Cliff Drive, and I must say, it's a cozy restaurant that serves American comfort food like surf and turf and has a full bar.

The updated dining space is perfect for family dinners, and the bar is a great place to unwind after work.

I had the pleasure of trying their excellent steaks and seafood. The Crab Cakes Meal and Broiled Seafood Platter were both delicious.

I also decided to order something out of the ordinary, like fried oysters with blue cheese sauce and a spinach salad with a blue cheese-covered steak.

To refresh my taste buds, I enjoyed some ahi tuna salad.

I can confidently say that Kitzie's Restaurant & Lounge has the best food in Martinsburg.

Compared to other local steak places, Kitzie's has better prices, service, and most importantly, juicy steaks.

The crab cakes are top-notch as well!
